Dear all,
I have an error using BPMA(strange I am not surprised). I am using the version 9.3.1, and I loaded an ads file where some members has been moved. When I validate, I have the error below:

I already encountered this error on my development environment, and I created a new application to workaround the problem.
Oracle support answered that I have to restore the application and avoid delete renamed currency dimension even thouht I never rename any member on this dimension.
I need help from people who manage this module, I won't restore this application if each time I have this problem when I move a member in an ads file. I don't understand what's happen.

This is probably not the best forum for your question. This forum focuses largely on FDM which manages data. You may want to consider posting in the HFM or Essbase forums.

Error deploying application from BPMA to HFM
I am trying to deploy a consolidation application created in BPMA and I'm getting the error below (the application did validate properley). The app deployed fine initially but I've since added dimensions and members to it. The error is as follows:

I cannot access the error text file to see further details. When I click the log file link a window opens up and immediately closes again.
Has anyone else had trouble deploying apps or viewing deploy logs?Hi,
I've have had the same log problem myself. Support said that the log thing is a bug of some sort. For me it started to work after changing IE settings and rebooting the servers and services. You can see the messages on the server, however.
Take a copy of the application, and when deploying that one, clear data and metadata + check referential ... (ticks on before deploying).
Usually helps. -

check the connection of BPMA server to its relational repository (e.g SQL Server, depending on your installation). You can use the configuration utility to do that.

I installed 11.1.2.2 in my laptop....but iam getting following error for workspace and sharedservices.

Oracle epm 11.1.2.2 http error
I installed (personal installation) and configured 11.1.2.2. Installation was successful. Configuration only partly successful as most of the errors point to http error and unable log on to workspace. It brings up a java.net error.

I had the folder structure set as "hide known file types". And I named the file with an extension import.txt assuming the file's name is import and the extension is .txt. That was the error and that is why epma-batch-client could not locate the file called import.txt in the E: drive while the file name was actually import.txt.txt.
I fixed that and now it runs fine as expected. -
Getting Error while deploying application in Planning Workforce
Hi,
While deploying a sample planning application through BPMA i am getting this error.
The error message is saying “You must select the Valid for Wrkforce application property before redeploying the Application View”.
Any ideas about what might be going wrong?
Moreover, I am having this concept that this is only a “general planning” application view. This application view is not meant to be enabled with Workforce.
Please share your knowledge about this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

BPMA services not getting started
Hi,
We recently installed Oracle EPM suite 11.1.1.1 in one of our Windows 2003 SP1 Server. The products so far installed are:
EPM Foundation Services
Performance Management Architect
Calculation Manager
Financial Management
Workspace
Financial Reporting
Smart Space
However the Performance Management or Dimension Server (Or any related services to BPMA) services doesnt get started. Also we tried to manually start the service by opening the "HyS9BPMA_EventManager.exe" but it gives error
"Cannot Start Service from the command line or debugger. A windows serrvice must first be installed (using installutil.exe) and then started with the ServerExplorer, Windows Services Administrative tool or the Net START command".
However the InstallUtil.exe also doesnt solve the purpose.
Have anybody faced such kind of issues or has a resloution? Kindly provide any pointers.

The service Hyperion EPM Architect - Process Manager is not present in these services list. Although the exe file is present in the location:
*<HYPERION_HOME>\products\Foundation\BPMA\AppServer\DimensionServer\ServerEngine\bin* I can see the file HyS9BPMA_ProcessManager.exe .
But it doesnt get started.
I tried reinstalling the BPMA, but no positive result. Do you think I missed something in between.

11.1.1.3 - BPMA re-installation issue - Please help

I am having some difficulties with the re-installation of 11.1.1.3. Due to a bad deployment which ruined essbase. I decided to un-install everything SS, Essbase, Planning, Workspace, FR and BPMA.. the whole lot basically (using the uninstall tool). After that I deleted the hyperion folders and began re-installation. Again it ran fine and I carried out textbook configuration.
It was all going smooth until the point where I was configuring workspace. On the following screen it came up with an error message about the folder path not being available??

But it allowed me to carry on with the configuration and all the files appeared to be created correctly in the same location.
After the configuration I ensured all the required services started up as normal. Now I get the error msg below when I am trying to login to workspace. It complains about FR..and I yes I have checked the services started up correctly and I carried out the standard configuration on FR. (Same as the first time I installed on to the server... I didn't do anything different in this department).

I understand re-installation is not ideal but I don't really want to re-install the server. This is the 4th time I have re-installed configured 11.1.1.3 please can someone solve my headaches.

StephenThe workspace error message can mean the service "Hyperion Workspace - Agent Service" has not started fully.
You can check in the logs \Hyperion\logs\BIPlus\stdout_console_default.log
If everything is good you should see "ALWAYS [Thread-30] stdout - giving control to the ORB to process the requests" in the log
If you don't then it looks like you have an installation/configuration issue.

Metadata import error during creation of import profile
Hi guys,
I am trying to create a (out-of-the-box) metadata interface from Fusion (source) to a HFM application. I've successfully completed the following activities:
- Register source system
- Setup source accounting entities
- Initialize source system
- Register target system
- Create import format (Fusion to HTP application) which maps the Account COA segment from the source system to the Account dimension in the target application.
- Create location, connected to upper import format
- Create metadata rule
When I try to execute the metadata rule it raises the following error during the step "Creating EPMA import profile for dimension ERPI System Profile 5" :

I am kind of new to debugging with FDMEE, but am I correct that it finds a string where I should not be finding a string somewhere in the metadata? I looked into the source system metadata but I don't see any "string" metadata. Could anyone perhaps advise and point me in the right direction on how to deal with this error (what is causing the error, where to look, etc). Any help would be kindly appreciated!

Error during Batch Planning Redeploy

I'm trying to import planning metadata and redeploy an application by batch script:

Best regardsIf anyone interested, we have manually validated and deployed the application. From then on the batch was working fine again. It looks like validation has been failing during the batch, but once we did it manually, it seems to have cleared itself.

Exporting application finished with error (when deploying)
When deploying HFM application from EPMA, I get this error from job "Exporting Application ...":

In Event Viewer, there are two errors from HyS9BPMA_DimensionServer:

Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

2. There are no results available for job Exporting application htcapp. because an error was encountered while processing the job. See the Job Console or the Event Viewer for more information.Exception:
Because of that, deployment still finish with status "Aborted".
Does anybody know, why is that?
