Error: DC Build Failed
Hi,
We are getting the following error when we try to build our DC. And the build fails.
"Cannot determine used variant for used compartment ESMP_BUILDT. Using variant: default using compartment: SAMPLECOMPONENTS. Check if the expected usage dependency between the compartments exists."
Could anybody provide some hints on dealing with this problem?
In our dc if we try, we are not able to add dependency for dcs within ESMP_BUILDT since we do not get it as an option to be selected while adding dependencies.
Regards,
Anagha

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I appreciate your response. However the problem was that dependency was not added at the compartment (SC) level. Once I added that dependency, the dc could be built successfully. In fact the error message was quite clear but I misread it. On checking the depdndencies properly, the build was successful.

Anagha

Error: Index Build Failed - Insufficient Disk Space
I am unable to create a full-text index for a set of PDF files (Full Text Index with Catalog function). The initial build worked a few months ago, but all attempts at a rebuild are met with the following:
Error: Index Build Failed - Insufficient Disk Space
I have over 5GB of disk space. I have cleared my general temp folder.
I am using Acrobat XI Pro Version 11.0.10.32.
Any help would be greatly appreciated."5GB of disk space"
Disk space is the space on the Hard Disk Drive.
A 5GB HDD, in today's computer environment, is effectively so small as to be next to nothing.
Perhaps you have 5GB of RAM?
That'd indicate a 64-bit computer (if in Windows). But, Acrobat (in Windows) is a 32-bit application and as such cannot make use of the extra RAM a 64-bit computer can carry.
The alert/error speadks to "disk space" which is the space available on the HDD.
If your computer's HDD has about at or less than 12-15 % space available you'll need to make more available (defrag or whatever) or you'll need to move up to a larger HDD.

Building Native Mobile App for Android: error message, build fail
Hi,
I'm trying RH10 on a Win 8 x64 system, trying to get the generate for mobile devices, Android to work. I've installed the Android SDK (part of the complete ADT) in a "Development" folder in the C drive, installed JDK for Win 64, added the PhoneGap and ANT unzipped folders to the "Development" folder and then in the RH10 dialog to generate the Android APK, I've pointed set the correct paths to these tools. (All installed tools are correct for my OS, Win 8 x64.)
No matter what I try, using a sample file (EmployeeCare, Salesbuilder), I get an error message at the very end of the build process. Please see the screenshot showing the error message and the relevant part of the log which looks like the ANT path is not working correctly. The build fails every time. I've tried to do some troubleshooting online and for example, came across setting the environment variables for the ANT folder, which I did, but with no success in fixing the problem. The Eclipse installation connects with the JDK and runs OK if I simply boot it up.
My path settings are in a second screenshot below.
(I've tried the ANT path with different values, for example "C:\Development\apache-ant-1.9.0-bin" etc. Doesn't prevent error message and build failure.)
I am not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated. At this point, I would be happy to simply be able to build one APK then test it on an Android device.
Thank you for your help.
Kind Regards,
saratogacoach@saratogacoach
Not much on the forums yet about creating an app but I notice you are using Windows 8 which is not officially supported yet. Can you try on a Windows 7 machine to rule out the OS being the problem?

I was having problem when building a Java DC for JavaBeans (to be exported to Web Dynpro DC). Therefore, there is only one Java class which has the getter and setter there.
I <b>do not have a DTR installed</b>, so the DC was created under Local DCs -> Local Development -> MyComponents.
The build log error is as below:

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.Hi Denis,
go to eclipse plugins folder and into 'com.sap.tc.ap/comp/SAP_BUILDT/DCs/sap.com/tc/bi/bp' and check if u have folder 'javaLib' with build plugin.
<b>Ans: Yes, javaLib is there. Do you meant i need to add javalibplugin.jar to the Java Build Path?</b>
then go to 'com.sap.tc.ap/SCs/sap.com/SAP_BUILDT/_comp/TopLevelDCs
and check if you have 'sap.com tc bi bp javaLib.dcref' file here - if not create it
<b>Ans: It's alrdy there.</b>
In my local development, SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS, SAP-JEE are without any child.

Dynamic dimention building failed
Hi essbase experts,
I am trying to build dimension using rules file.
My outline is -
Product
A
B
C
D
SALE
Price
STOCK
Quantity
YEAR
2007
jan2007
feb2007
mar2007
I created a rules file . in the field "product" I unchecked the option" ignore field during dimension build", "ignore field during data load" .
by this rules file i am able to load the data. but i am not able to build dimension .
in the rules file the fields are - product , year , quantity , price
is there any thing I am missing out ?
the data which i am trying to load is -
"A" , "Jan2007", 375,0
note - the same rules file is able to load data but when i try to build dimension
it gives the error
"dimension build failed"
Can you guys tell me what am I actually missing ????Kyle,
I have the same problem. All of this functionality worked before (at least about 130 days ago), but there have been at least two updates to Pr since that time.
Here are a few more data points. (Win 7 x64 Ultimate on HP Z820 32 GB RAM, Quadro 4000 CS6 Master Collection)
(1) Exporting using Queue in Pr CS6 to batch in AME creates the project file in a TEMP directory, and launches AME and adds the file to the Queue. When I press start, it sits a LONG time, then finally in the Encoding panel, I get the "Connecting to Dynamic Link Server...", until it fails with the error "Can't read source file..."
(2) Exporting directly from Pr works fine (so headless AME is working)
(3) Importing a Pr Sequence within AME does not work, I get an error from the Import Premiere Pro Sequence dialog (after a long wait “Connecting to Dynamic Link server…”) that “Connecting to Dynamic Link server failed”.
I suspect this is a dynamic link issue, but don't know where. I've tried the 'create a new Premiere shortcut in dynamicilnk folder' solution, but it didn't work. When I first tried that, I did find two shortcuts already there, one for Pr and one for Ae, but BOTH of them pointed to a CS4 folder! I've never owned CS4, and went from CS3 Design Professional to CS6 Master Collection. I also suspect this issue was caused by one of the updates to Pr that occurred within the last 130 days (since the last time I know this functionality worked). I've made not changes to my system during that time.
I do not use Windows Firewall, and all of this happens on a single machine, so there should be no TCP traffic across the wire (unless it is communicating with Adobe?). I use Webroot Endpoint Protection, but have received no indication that anything is suspect or has been blocked. Any help from the Adobe engineers would be greatly appreciated. -

When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:

Executable build failing with no error message with smtp email VIs
I have a VI which I want to build into a .exe which will be used as an HMI for a real-time system. I am using the SMTP VIs to text/email me various notifications about the system state. The main VI works fine if run but will not build into an .exe. The error message comes back blank so no help there (LabView 2010). If I just simply disable the portion of the code in the HMI.VI which contains the email VI code, the application builds. I searched for anwers and was unable to resolve the problem. Any ideas? Do I need to include anything in the build that is specific to the LabView SMTP VIs? I'm new to building .exe's so I appologize for any rookie mistakes I may have made.
Thanks.mikeporter wrote:
You said you searched for answers (on the forum?).
Yes.
What did you find?
I found a bunch of topics on email send errors after the application was built but nothing related to .exe building failures (related to the SMTP/email VIs). I also found topics dicussing the bug that fails to report an (any) error during the .exe build (for 2011). The solution was to install the service pack. if that's my problem then I will have to go through the motions to get that done (corporate computers / lack of persmissons and such).
What have you tried? This question has been answered many, many, many times.
I tried what I stated in the OP. If I disable the portion of the code which contains the email SMTP VIs, the application builds, otherwise, the build fails and no error code or description is given.
PS: probably has nothing to do with the SMTP drivers, per se.
If the answer has been given many, many times, then I appologize for not being able to find it before posting. Trust me, the last thing I want to is waste my time fishing for answers on the forum, especially when I get a response from forum members who would rather point out that my mis-identified problem has been answered many, many times, rather then just helping me out. -
LV 8.2; Build Failed Error 10
During the build phase build failed with the following returned:
Error 10 occurred at ABAPI Dist Copy Non-VI Files.vi -> ABAPI Dist Build LLB Image.vi -> ABAPI Copy Files and Apply Settings.vi -> EBEP_Invoke_Build_Engine.vi -> EBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi -> EBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller
Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW: Duplicate path.
I converted the build I used under the previous Labview version. The application was not changed; this was a test build with the only change being the revision change to 8.20

[email protected]Hi Paul,
That error usually comes up when a DLL that you reference in a VI is also included as a support file in the application build. I've seen this when including a DLL that is installed with an NI driver (such as lvdaq.dll for data acquisition). If your Build Specification has any NI DLL's included as support files, these can be removed. If you need driver support, the recommended way of doing this is by creating an installer Build Spec and including the device driver under the Additional Installers page.

Niraj SevalkarHi Niraj, does this happen for all projects or for one specific project? I'd love to understand if this is a specific bug or if it might be a setup issue.
If this issues is reproduceable on the latest SSDT bits, I'd suggest capturing the event log for what is going wrong and then opening a connect
bug for this issue at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/CreateFeedback.aspx and
use the category "Developer Tools(SSDT, BIDS, etc.)". We're trying to track all bugs through connect so that you can tell when we have fixed the issue and we can request
more information. Please include the event log (instructions on this below) plus any other useful information you can provide, such as an example of exact steps to reproduce the problem.
Gathering an Event Log for SSDT
For diagnostic purposes we would like you to gather an event log for the issue that you are experiencing in SSDT. In order to gather a log and send it to a member of
the team, please follow the steps below.
Open a new command prompt as Administrator.
Run the following command
logman create trace -n DacFxDebug -p "Microsoft-SQLServerDataTools" 0x800 -o "%LOCALAPPDATA%\DacFxDebug.etl" -ets
logman create trace -n SSDTDebug -p "Microsoft-SQLServerDataToolsVS" 0x800 -o "%LOCALAPPDATA%\SSDTDebug.etl" -ets
Run whatever the target/issue scenario is in SSDT.
Go back to the command prompt and run the following commands
logman stop DacFxDebug -ets
logman stop SSDTDebug -ets
The resulting ETL files will be located at %LOCALAPPDATA%\SSDTDebug.etl & %LOCALAPPDATA%\DacFxDebug.etl and can be navigated to using Windows Explorer.
Please attach this file when creating the connect bug
NOTE - These logs will only be used by Microsoft product team members in order to better diagnose the problem you are experiencing
with SSDT and will not be shared elsewhere. If you want to make sure that there is no private information in your ETL file, the SSDTDebug.etl file can be opened and analyzed using the Windows Event Viewer.
To do this, open the Windows Event Viewer application. In the right-hand panel, select Open Saved Log. Navigate to the location where you saved the log, open, and review
the contents of the trace.
Thanks,

If that's the case, you should first download the patch content posted on the AUR page and save it with the given filename, i.e., vmblock-9.0.2-5.0.2-3.12.patch
Then put the filename in the sources field of the PKGBUILD and put the file's md5sum in the respective field of the PKGBUILD as well.
After that, run
$ makepkg -si
You might want to read the following for reference:
