Error during altering a domain index - 10gr2
10.2.0.5 on RHEL-4
I would like to reduce some redo entries to prevent huge generation of archive-logs.
select index_name, table_owner, table_name, tablespace_name from user_indexes where index_type='DOMAIN' and logging='YES';
SQL> alter INDEX ISE_HIST#LOC nologging;
alter INDEX ISE_HIST#LOC nologging
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29871: invalid alter option for a domain index
Why I am unable to convert into no-logging mode ? What is the correct way of doing this?
Thanks!

As the exception message says you can't use the logging/nologging clause for domain indexes. Oracle doesn't support that functionality.
See ALTER INDEX in the SQL Language doc
>
index
Specify the name of the index to be altered.
Restrictions on Modifying Indexes The modification of indexes is subject to the following restrictions:
•If index is a domain index, you can specify only the PARAMETERS clause, the RENAME clause, the rebuild_clause (with or without the PARAMETERS clause), the parallel_clause, or the UNUSABLE clause. No other clauses are valid.
•You cannot alter or rename a domain index that is marked LOADING or FAILED. If an index is marked FAILED, the only clause you can specify is REBUILD.
>
The first bullet point above itemizes the clauses you can specify for a domain index and LOGGING/NOLOGGING is not one of them. As that point says 'No other clauses are valid'.
There are no workarounds.

Upgrade from 10gr2 to 11gr2 - error during impdp
Current server is 10gr2 on windows 2003 64 bit, running TDE. On the new server, I've copied the wallet to the new server, opened it using the alter system set encryption wallet open command. Verifed it's open. When I run impdp on the 11gr2 server, I get a ton of these errors:
ORA-39083: Object type INDEX failed to create with error:
ORA-28374: typed master key not found in wallet
Failing sql is:
CREATE INDEX "BANK"."RTXN_DX29" ON "BANK"."RTXN" ("RTXNTYPCD") PCTFREE 10 INITRANS 2 MAXTRANS 255 STORAGE(INITIAL 65536 NEXT 1048576 MINEXTENTS 1 MAXEXTENTS 2147483645 PCTINCREASE 0 FREELISTS 1 FREELIST GROUPS 1 BUFFER_POOL DEFAULT FLASH_CACHE DEFAULT CELL_FLASH_CACHE DEFAULT) TABLESPACE "INDEXES" PARALLEL 12
Followed by a ton of errors like this
Processing object type DATABASE_EXPORT/SCHEMA/TABLE/CONSTRAINT/REF_CONSTRAINT
ORA-39083: Object type REF_CONSTRAINT failed to create with error:
ORA-02270: no matching unique or primary key for this column-list
Failing sql is:
ALTER TABLE "BANK"."ACCT1099M" ADD CONSTRAINT "ACCT1099M004" FOREIGN KEY ("PARENTACCTNBR", "PARENTRTXNNBR") REFERENCES "BANK"."RTXN" ("ACCTNBR", "RTXNNBR") ENABLE NOVALIDATE
Any ideas? I'm doing my practice runs for the real upgrade, which is this weekend, and I've had several successful upgrades, but this time I can't get past this error.I do not have any experience with TDE, but see if MOS Doc 1260584.1 can help

Hi all,
I am doing a IDES system copy. I ran the report SMIGR_CREATE_DLL , the export activities have been completed successfully as well on the source system. Now on the target system, during the import, I am getting the following error in the log file SAPDFACT.log.
(DB) ERROR: DDL statement failed

(SQL error 1408)
error message returned by DbSl:
ORA-01408: such column list already indexed

The owner for this table is SAPSR3. Some oracle forums suggested to drop the index before recreating it. But when i do "drop index SAPSR3."/BI0/E0RSTT_C06~P..it says.."the specified index does not exist". But when I go to recreate this index, it doesn get created successfully. After that when I re-run the import, it again fails. Suprisingly..now if i go to check if this index is present thru a sql querry:
select owner, object_name, object_type from dba_objects where object_name='SAPSR3."/BI0/E0RSTT_C06~P"', it tells "no rows selected". This is happening everytime, I create an index, where it gets created successfully, and the import again fails with the same error in SAPDFACT.log.
I found an SAP note 885441 named..common errors during migration..although mine isnt a migration..my both source and destination are Red hat 64 bit platform.
The note 1st asks to download the latest R3load..which I did and extracted in the kernel directory of the source..then it also asked to edit the .TSK file..in my case..SAPDFACT.TSK..where the lines:
I /BIC/E<Cubename>~<index> C err
to I /BIC/E<Cubename>~<index> C ign..
I did that..this time..the import again fails..but in the SAPDFACT.log..it complains about some other index..n the same gets generated in the .TSK file as well..the earlier index error is not again generated.
I am not sure..what is going wrong..my export went through successfully.i have done the prep steps for export as well..before that i ran the SMIGR_CREATE_DLL report as well..
Any inputs are highly appreciated..
Thanks,

Error during search !!! Associate Search Query with Indexes !!!
We are trying to implement a simple index with Trex Search .
We have done the following tasks :
1. Created my index
2. Assigned data to the the indexes
3. Created taxonomies for classification indexes
4. Created my search query asociated to the index
When we try to search with the iview search , we got this error : <i><b>"Error during search occurred - com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: A received argument has an invalid value (Errorcode 18)"</b></i> .
We think that something is missing and for that we need to know how can we
associate the search query with the index ?
After the step 4), what we have to do in order to get this implementation (search working)
Please send us any ideas ..

You have the wrong Java version installed. Do you already have another Forms version installed (like Forms 10g)? I ask this because Java 1.4.2_06 installs with the Oracle Developer Suite 10g. For Fusion Middleware 11g (Forms 11g) you need to have Java 1.6 installed. If you already have Java 1.6 installed, then you will need to modify your System PATH so that it lists Java 1.6 before Java 1.4. The error you are getting, "stderr=[java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError" is because Java 1.4 doesn't support the method the installer is using. Run the following command from a Command/Dos window: "Java -version". If it does not show Java 1.6.0_??, then your PATH is still not setup correctly or you don't have Java 1.6.0 installed.

OMS error during install Grid control 10gR2 on Windows 2003
He,
I get this error during install Grid control 10gR2 on a new server win2003.
"oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn"
What I see in forums is that I have to stop my listener and continue my installation.
But I still have the same error !!
Can you please help?
Many thanksThere are some guidelines here:
Subject: OracleAS Install Error When Configuring AS Console Agent - "oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn has failed"
Doc ID: Note:386308.1
The solution stated is "Check the contents of the hosts of file and ensure that every entry is correct. All hostname / ip addresses have to be valid."
When installing AS 9i R2 there was an issue with the names, those were supposed not to hava a hypen, so may be something was inherited from those kernels.
There is another metalink note that document hosts issues:
Problem: AgentCA: Grid Control Release 2 install fails with java.lang.Exception: 6 during Agent Configuration Assistant

Error during Heterogeneous System Copy - Phase 18 Import ABAP
Hello gurus,
I´m facing an error during the Target Installation in a Heterogeneous System Copy (Migration). The system SAP is a SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 (Unicode and Abap+Java).
Source server:
Operation System: Windows 2003 Server x64
Database: SQL Server 2008 SP01
Target server:
Operation System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) X64
Database: Oracle DB 10.2g (10.2.0.4)
I already did the all procedures in export database and all that looks fine!
At this point I´m running the system copy procedure through SAPInst on target server (RHEL / Oracle) but in phase 18 - Import ABAP the sapinst stops... (by the way in procedure bar, I can see "Import Monitor jobs: running 0, waiting 1, completed 0, failed 18, total 19")
I checked three log files (sapinst_dev.log ; sapinst.log ; SAPSDIC.log):

Error during restore/recovery and 'open resetlogs'
Hello forum. I'm attempting to restore a database to a new host and have run into an error during the opening of the database (with resetlogs). The renaming of the datafiles, restore, switching of datafiles, and recovery are all done by an rman script, the contents of which are below:
# Restore production database to DR site using file system
# instead of ASM
run {
set newname for datafile 1 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/system.dbf';
set newname for datafile 2 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/undotbs1.dbf';
set newname for datafile 3 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/sysaux.dbf';
set newname for datafile 4 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/users.dbf';
set newname for datafile 5 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/undotbs2.dbf';
set newname for datafile 6 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/file1.dbf';
set newname for datafile 7 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/file2.dbf';
restore database;
switch datafile all;
recover database;
I get the following output:
RMAN> @/home/oracle/scripts/rman_dr.rman

I searched for a decription of the 06054 error, and found that if the archive logs weren't available, then to run "alter database open resetlogs;", which I did. Here's the output:
RMAN> alter database open resetlogs;
database opened
RMAN-06900: WARNING: unable to generate V$RMAN_STATUS or V$RMAN_OUTPUT row
RMAN-06901: WARNING: disabling update of the V$RMAN_STATUS and V$RMAN_OUTPUT rows
ORACLE error from target database:
ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56319]
I've done all of this twice now, with the same result. I've googled PLS-801 and found more than a few instances of people getting this code, but not during a database open after a restore. Can anyone shed some light on what might have gone wrong? In the interest of brevity, I left out the rest of the restore process prior to running the database restore, but other than setting "compatible" and "db_recovery_file_dest_size", it was all by the book.
Thanks in advance.Thanks for the reply Pierre.
I am not using RMAN Duplicate. Yes, the source of the backup is an RAC. The destination is a single server, with the DB on the filesystem. Here's an overview of of the commands I ran and the procedure.
Copied tar'd backup controlfile and datafiles to destination machine. Untar'd. Install 10.2.0.1.0 on destination machine, patch to 10.2.0.2.0.
OS> sqlplus /nologin
SQL> alter system set compatible = '10.2.0.2.0' scope=spfile;
SQL> alter system set db_recovery_dest_file_size = '8g'; scope spfile;
SQL> shutdown immediate;
SQL> startup; (to verify changes took...)
SQL> shutdown immediate;
OS> Copy control file from untar'd dir and place in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/, truncate name to c-DBID-date-00.
OS> rman target /
RMAN> startup nomount;
RMAN> set dbid <dbid from control file>;
RMAN> restore controlfile from autobackup; (finds control file with no problem...)
RMAN> alter database mount;
RMAN> @/home/oracle/rman_dr.rman (script cited in first post, to rename datafiles from ASM to filesystem, restore, switch files, and recover...)
RMAN> alter database open resetlogs; (as cited before...)
If I'm not using Duplicate and not specifying dates, the UNTIL/SET UNTIL commands aren't necessary, correct? -
ABAP Import Phase error during Install
Hi out there. I am installing an ERP system ECC 6.0 SR3 with just the AS ABAP and ECC components. It is now on the ABAP import phase and returns the error that certain ABAP objects are failing out of the 112 objects that is processing. Current examples are : -
=============================================================================
Loading of 'SAPSDIC_2' import package: ERROR
(DB) ERROR: DDL statement failed
(CREATE INDEX "VRSX2~1" ON "VRSX2" ( "RELID" , "OBJNAME" , "VERSNO" ) )

(SQL error -602)
error message returned by DbSl:

I wish to know how else can 1 work around this ABAP import phase with errors such as these? Is there a manual procedure I can perform for this phase during installations so to avoid these errors that come up. And then re-run the install that goes past this?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.Hi
Try increasing your shared pool size
login to database level
sqlplus "/as sysdba"
>show parameter shared_pool_size;
if the value is some thing aroung 150 to 200 MB increase it to 250MB
>alter sytem set shared_pool_size=250M scope=both;
Hope this will solve your problem

Hi all,
I am trying to extend the supplier address book site creation controller: ByrCrtStCO and loop inside the processFormRequest method through all the operating unit related sites on that page.
I have the following code:

OAViewObject oaviewobject = (OAViewObject) applicationModule.findViewObject("CrtSitesVO");
if (oaviewobject != null) {
int count = oaviewobject.getRowCount();
if(oapagecontext.isLoggingEnabled(2))
oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append(" Count: ").append(count).toString(), 2);
else {

This is the method I used to update the vendor sites. It takes a list of vendor site IDs retrieved in previous sections and updates one by one. Note the Super method is invoked before this method and another method not mentioned here is used to retrieve the vendor site IDs from the operating unit the user checked.
private void updateVendorSites(OAPageContext oapagecontext, OAWebBean oawebbean, HashMap<oracle.jbo.domain.Number, String> updateList ) {
if(oapagecontext.isLoggingEnabled(2))
oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, "xxXXXXpoByrCrtStCO - updateVendorSites(OAPageContext, OAWebBean).BEGIN", 2);
System.out.println("xxXXXXpoByrCrtStCO - updateVendorSites(OAPageContext, OAWebBean).BEGIN" );
try {
// Initalize variables
oracle.jbo.domain.Number vendorSiteId = null;
oracle.jbo.domain.Number orgId = null;
String vatCode = null;
// THis is a nested AM, so the view for operating units/sites is not in the root AM. It is in the ByrAddrAM.
// In order to update the tax code on the newly created supplier site, we need to get the AM and VO for the Tax and Reporting Update Tax code page
ApplicationModule maintainpartytaxprofilesam = oapagecontext.getRootApplicationModule().findApplicationModule("MaintainPartyTaxProfilesAM");
SearchSuppAcctSitesVOImpl searchsuppacctsitesvoimpl = (SearchSuppAcctSitesVOImpl) maintainpartytaxprofilesam.findViewObject("SearchSuppAcctSitesVO");
Set set = updateList.entrySet();
Iterator i = set.iterator();
while (i.hasNext()) {
System.out.println("xxXXXXpoByrCrtStCO - updateVendorSites Inside while" );
Map.Entry<oracle.jbo.domain.Number, String> updateCode = (Map.Entry<oracle.jbo.domain.Number, String>) i.next();
// Initialize variables used in the loop to ensure no exchange of data between rows. This is just a precaution.
vendorSiteId = null;
orgId = null;
vatCode = null;
System.out.println("xxXXXXpoByrCrtStCO - updateVendorSites before cast org id" );
orgId = updateCode.getKey();
System.out.println("xxXXXXpoByrCrtStCO - updateVendorSites before cast vatCode" );
vatCode = updateCode.getValue();
if(oapagecontext.isLoggingEnabled(2))
oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append(" OrgId: ").append(orgId).toString(), 2);
System.out.println(" OrgId: " + orgId.toString());
System.out.println(" vatCode: " + vatCode);
// Get the vendor site ID from separate method

ERROR DURING TRIGGER EXECUTION
Hello
I need help on this issue.
I've a table with a INDEXTYPE (INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT;) on one Column
Every Time I Update,Insert,Delete one record I need to rebuild this Index or I can't access this modified Record
SO I Thought to built a Trigger that Calls a Procedure to Rebuild the Index AFTER UPDATE,INSERT or DELETE
Now when I Update or insert or Delete a record in the Table I get the Error Message :
SYS@cfmt > update IWS.ALUMNI_SEARCH set FIRST_NAME = 'TEST' where INTEGRATION_ID = 1000026;
update IWS.ALUMNI_SEARCH set FIRST_NAME = 'TEST' where INTEGRATION_ID = 1000026
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
ORA-06512: at "IWS.REBUILD_ALUMDATA", line 15
ORA-06512: at "IWS.TRG_REB_ALUM", line 5
ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'IWS.TRG_REB_ALUM'
Any ideas
TRIGGER SCRIPT :
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER IWS.TRG_REB_ALUM
AFTER
INSERT OR
UPDATE OR
DELETE ON
IWS.ALUMNI_SEARCH
FOR EACH ROW
DECLARE
BEGIN
IWS.REBUILD_ALUMDATA;
COMMIT;
END;
INDEX
CREATE INDEX ALUMNI_DATA ON ALUMNI_SEARCH
(ALUMNI_DATA)
INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT;Ah. Since you are using a desupported version, neither resync on commit nor transactional Text indexes. Any chance you could upgrade to a more recent version of the database?
If you are stuck on 9.2, are you really certain that you need the newly added rows available for searching immediately? That's a pretty unusual requirement for doing full-text searching. Any chance you could just schedule a periodic refresh every few minutes?
If you absolutely need immediate refreshes and you're stuck in a desupported database version, you could potentially have your trigger submit a job via the DBMS_JOB package that did your index rebuild asynchronously after your transaction committed (which would mimic the ON COMMIT attribute introduced in 10g). Since you are trying to do an ALTER INDEX, which is DDL, you won't be able to do that directly in a trigger. You might be able to call CTX_DDL.Sync_Index instead of issuing the ALTER INDEX, but I would wager that this has the same problem of doing implicit commits, and is thus ineligible to be called from a trigger.

Generally, it's a bad idea to be using the SYS account for anything other than the small handful of administrative tasks that actually require logging in as SYS. You would generally want to use the appropriate object owner account, or at least a separate account that you created and granted appropriate privileges. SYS is special, and there are frequently behaviors that are different for SYS than other users that cause all sorts of confusion. Additionally, it's a bad idea from a security perspective to have people accessing the most powerful account in the database for routine operations.

How can you copy properities from one object to another?
If you create a number of boxes and then decided to change the color of all of them (or add a stroke, shadow, etc), is there a way to copy your style from one to the others? In Photoshop you can copy layer styles, so you don't have to re-do everythi
