Error establishing connection to JDBC

Hi guys,
I'm doing a JDBC to file scenario. I'm using MS SQL as my database. I'm getting an error as class not found 'com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver'
I wanted to know have i provided the JDBC driver correctly for MS SQL,
Also I've given the connection URL as
jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://hostname:1433;DatabaseName=Employee
Is this a correct way??
If not please help me on this guys and tell me the correct connection establishment parameters...
Thanks
Varun

    I have a iPhone 5C and a PC with Windows Vista.I did pair my phone thru Bluetooth but when I try to connect I get this message:"error establishing connection" What is the reason of this?

    Go into Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and make sure that your phone number is checked and iMessage reads as activated. Remove the checkmark from the email address and make sure that only the phone number if checked. It should appear grayed out, but should still have a checkmark. If the phone number does not have a checkmark, then turn off iMessage, wait a few moments and then turn iMessage back on and make sure that it activates.

  • Error when connecting to JDBC

    I wrote a JAVA program to test the connection with Oracle. It worked in NT environment, but it did not in Linux Environment. I got the error message: "IO exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection."
    Here is JAVA code:
    import java.sql.*;
    class Employee1
    public static void main (String args [])
    throws SQLException
    try{
    Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    Connection conn =
    DriverManager.getConnection ("jdbc:oracle:thin:@203.149.143.1:1521:ora1",
    "dxhub", "manager");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement ();
    ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery ("select user_id from user_info");
    while (rset.next ())
    System.out.println (rset.getString ("user_id"));
    catch(Exception e)
    System.out.println(e.getMessage());
    I think there is nothing wrong with JAVA code. There must be something wrong in the Linux environment. I appreciate your help if someone can give me a little advice.

    Hi Shila,
    Actually Portal runs on Web Application server.The server does not know any details about R/3 system which you want to connect. for that first you have to configur Your J2ee Engine And than Proceed.
    for configuring J2ee Engine see ths notes.

    Which version of OBIEE? Which Essbase components are installed on the OBI machine which opnes the connection to the Essbase server? You need at least a 9.3.1 client.

    Hi,
    I am getting an error in the seander JDBC adapter. PFB the error:

    Hi,
    Also check whether you have given database connection parameters in the following format:
    JDBC Driver:
    com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Connection:   jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://<HOSTNAME>:1433;DatabaseName=<xxxx>;SelectMethod=cursor
    I think the deployment is done, because you have not got "SAPClassNotFoundException" error.(If the deployment is not done, the driver file cant be located so this will be thrown...)

    I'm trying to connect via jdbc driver from a java application to a remote db. The code is quite simple

    Please be aware of the following facts:
    1) sqlplus from the same machine has no problem connecting to the db
    2) there is no firewall or router between the client and the server
    3) As host name I've tried the fqdn (resolved by the DNS), a name I've set up in /etc/hosts, the mere IP address
    4) Checking with tcpdump, I've verified that NO network packet actually leaves the client, so the problem completely lies there.
    Has anyone some good idea why this happens?

    Make sure you are providing correct hostname and listener port number

  • JDBC Communication channel : Error establishing socket

    Dear friends,
    Im using JDBC comm channel. JDBC driver has been insatlled for SQL Server 2000 (SP3) .
    However for the JDBC comm. channel i get an error

    JDBC driver:  com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver

    eg: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    DB name:
    jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://<ip address>:1433;DatabaseName=<dbname>
    However still get the same error
    Can somebody help ?

    Hi
    The following should fix your problem
    <i>I had this problem using SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC and finally solved it. Here's what I did:
    1. Make sure that SQL Server is set to mixed authentication. To do this, open enterprise manager, right click on server/properties; go to security tab and select SQL Server and Windows Authentication. Apparently, the driver from Microsoft cannot handle windows integrated authentication.
    2. Keeping the server properties dialog up, go to the general tab and push the network configuration button. <b>Enable TCP/IP (it is disabled by default). If you wish, press properties to change the default port (1433).</b>
    3. Add an SQL Server login account (NOT a WINDOWS account (see 1)). You can also use your sa account, but I don't recommend it.
    4. Use the login setup in step 3.
    Some final notes:
    (1) I've seen ads for third party drivers that can use Windows integrated authentication. Try one if you need this feature.
    (2) One responder suggested telneting to port 1433 to verify TCP connectivity. The connection is refused on my machine even though I can connect through the driver. And this is how it should be; otherwise there'd be a security risk.</i>
