Error in calling EJB Client from Remote Machine.

While running the client from local machine, it works perfectly.
But when I try to run the same client from remote machine it gives me the error.
I deployed the ejb in sun server 1.4 with jndi as "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/MyTemperature".
Following is the code snippet from the clint.
Context initial = new InitialContext();
          Object objref = initial.lookup("192.168.0.20/MyTemperature");
          home = (TemperatureHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref, TemperatureHome.class);
          Temperature degreeConverter = home.create();Following is the error

Can anybody provide me solution for this
I also tried with java.util.Properties class but result is same.

You are running on Windows 9x or Me, right? The darn OS has 300 or so bytes allocated for environment by default.
Try setting the Initial environment to 4096 in the Properties|Memory tab for the batch file. That will get rid of "Out of environment space". The syntax error is another matter; Windows (except NT and derivatives) shells do not allow '=' in an environment variables value. You cannot overcome that. Some software (Sybase for instance) interprets # as = just because of that. Unfortunately, the JVM doesn't take such an approach.
Better, grab copies of Unix utilities for Windows (www.gnu.org) including the wonderful shell 'bash' and write .sh scripts, which are inherently more powerful.

  • Can't call a VI from remote server

    I have a VI running on a labview development machine(Labview 2010), the main function is handling excel report using report generator. I follow the link http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14469/en to set up labview machine and teststand machine respectly. But when I tried to call the VI from remote server, it is still not able to load the VI front panel and show the connectors. See the  attachment. It looks like it still trying to load VI from local drive because it can't find the builded-in subvis for report generator function.
    What should I do to make it work? Thanks!
    Solved!

    TestStand error.png ‏107 KB

    For those interested in the solution, the problem turned out to be two things.
    The first is if you want to be able to load a prototype of the VI in TestStand, you will need to either share the VI or create a dummy VI. If the shared VI uses subVIs you do not have access to, then you are better of creating a dummy VI that has matching connector panes.
    The second problem had to do with how the remote VI path was specified. If you have shared the VI, then you will enter in the shared folder path as your remote VI path. If you have not shared it, then you will need to enter in the VI path as it is on the remote machine.

  • How to read file from remote machine

    Hello,
    Hi, i would like to know how to read text file from remote machine using java source code, any code ?
    Thanks very much;
    Best regards
    Kim

    On the server, perform the following steps:
    Parse the request and determine the file to serve
    Open a FileInputStream to the appropriate file
    Obtain a reference to the Servlet OutputStream
    Pipe the bytes from the file to the output stream
    Flush and close the streamYou might want to call HttpServletResponse.setContentType("application/octet") to indicate to the browser that a file download will be occurring. Do so before getting the reference to the Servlet's OutputStream.

  • Linked server problem, its works locally but not from remote machine

    Hi,
    i am using the application NAV and have written the query in the application. am using automation variable to link to the SQL Server.
    The problem is that , the query which i have written executes only when i am working on local machine .
    I mean when i want to execute the same query from remote machine through my app Dynamics NAV then its not getting executed.

    Depends on what you are trying to do and what security you are using.
    What error did you get?
    If you are using windows authentication then take a look at delegation

  • Urgent - calling EJB methods from thread

    Dear all
    I am aware of EJB spec that does not permit developer managed threads within EJB components. However, I need to call EJB methods from my own thread. Hence, it there any way to to call EJB methods from developer managed thread ?? If yes, please advice me, thanks in advance and your help will be appriciated.
    Hava a nice day

    You can call EJB's from your threads. Your thread will act as the client and the call will to EJB will be same as any other client invoking EJB's. Hope I understand your question !.

  • Launch exe from remote machine

    Hi All,
    How can I launch an executable residing in machine A from machine B?
    I'm trying web services but no luck.
    Am I the wrong track?
    Thanks a lot

    What does "I'm trying web services but no luck." mean? As I see it, you have two separate things to accomplish here. One is the launchiing of the executable locally. The other is the triggering of that event remotely. Deal with one, then the other. Much simpler. That is, encapsulate the launching in a single method call, then work on calling it remotely. Then your problem is simply "How do I call a method remotely?", and entirely decoupled from details such as "launch exe from remote machine"

    can anyone help please??

    As Ashish rightly said, you need to use ftp/scp.
    You can create a shell script on unix machine. Which shall copy the file from Windows machine to Unix machine on particular directory. Then you may need to change permissions of the file.
    Once that is done, same shell script can call procedure in oracle.
    You can schedule this shell script in Crontab to run at specified time daily, if you the timing of availability of file.

  • How to prevent executing more than one client from a machine?

    Hi all,
    Currently I am doing a client server project in java. The client is java swing. There is a requirement to prevent executing more than one client from a machine.
    Now I am relying on socket for this. I listen to a port, say 15000 and when the second session is started it would give an exception at the socket. I know that this a trivial method. Can anybody please suggest a better method. Also is it possible to bring focus to already executing client, if the user tries to execute the client program again in the same machine?
    An early answer to this question is highly appreaciated.
    Thanks in advance
    SSM

    Thanks for the suggestion, but I dont think we can use socket for this. And again if we use file for the same as you described, I think it would sometime create a some serious side effects. Suppose after one client session is invoked, the power goes off. In this case the client shut down is not in the normal sequence and hence we cannot remove the file programaticaly. This creates big problem when the user tries to run client again.
    I am really interested to know, is there any standard way in java which can be used to achieve this. Also is it possible to give focus to already executing client program if the user tries to invoke the client again.
    Thanks

  • Error while calling PI webservice from EJB

    Hi Experts,
    We are getting exception while calling PI webservice from EJB which is deployed in CE 7.2. Earlier we used to call the same webservice but from different PI system at that it worked fine. Now we have changed the consumer proxies required in CE and tried to call from CE and it is throwing error. We have checked usernames and passwords that we are using to call the service and that is working fine. PI team tested from their side and li is also fine. We have also restarted the CE system but invain. Can somebody help on this.  The below is the trace that we got.

    Hi Pradeep,
    this looks like if the server is not reachable. Have you checked if both server are able to communicate? Maybe firewall rules block the request.

  • Getting error while calling ejb business methods from servlet

    Hi
    Iam getting error when i try to call a ejb method from servlet.Error is
    "com.netscape.server.eb.UncheckedException: unchecked exception nested exception is:java.lang.NullPointerException".
    I build the application and deployed it successfully.Iam using IAS 6.O with windows NT 4.0.
    This is just a method which takes values from database and return as an array of bean to servlet.
    Any help on this.Thanks Shank

    Hi
    I was using the session bean.Your suggestion helped me a lot.Perfect.
    I debug my program and found that from ejbCreate()exception is getting.
    I was getting the datasource object thro ejb create() initialisation.
    Somehow the look up jndi which i mentioned was not interpretting from ejb-jar.xml ias-ejb-jar.xml and datasource ref .Due to this iam getting jndi Namenotfound exception which in turns to null pointer as datasource is getting null.
    when i hardcoded in the ejb the the jndi name for datasource it is working fine.Bit worried all the existing ejbs working with the xml referenced datasource and jndi,but when i added a new ejb with same properties it is failing to get the jndi name.
    Piece of code from ias-ejb-jar.xml
    <resource-ref>
              <res-ref-name>myDataSource</res-ref-name>
              <jndi-name>jdbc/nb/myData</jndi-name>
