Error in calling Java Beans

Hi.
I was trying to use a bean that i will run on my jsp. Basically, i have this Matiss_Import.jsp that calls the Matiss_DB_Trans.java by using the
<jsp:useBean id="db_trans" class="Matiss_DB_Trans"/>
My Matiss_DB_Trans.java and Matiss_Import.jsp are both in the same folder (c:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0\webapps\onjava). When i tried to run it, it gave me this error:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP
An error occurred at line: 13 in the jsp file: /Matiss_Import.jsp

Can anyone please help me with this one. The tutorials i read mentioned about a qualified classname. But don't you think mine is a qualified classname already? I mean, i didn't put my Matiss_DB_Trans.java in any package.
Thank you very much in advance.

Try to put Matiss_DB_Trans.class in c:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0\webapps\onjava\WEB-INF\classes. If the folder doesn't exist create it.
Hope it'll work.

Anton

    Can anyone explain to me what are the steps and ways to call java beans from JSP?

    1st, put the javabean classes in the right place:
    the web-inf/classes/your_bean.class directory of corresponding web application
    2nd in your jsp page:
    <jsp:useBean id="obj_var_name" class="your_bean"/>
    <jsp:setProperty name="obj_var_name" property="smthg" value="smthg_calue"/>

    This is not something you should be using a bean for.
    Beans are meant for storing data, not for generating HTML from.
    I don't really like queries on a JSP page either, but thats a different story again.
    I would recommend you use JSTL for this.
    1 - it provides a c:forEach tag for looping
    2 - it provides sql tags for doing queries in a database
    IF you are going to do database queries from a JSP page, I absolutely recommend you use the JSTL tags.
    (end rant)
    Your problem is probably caused by the fact that in your bean you have the following
    try{
      // code here
    catch (Exception e){
      // completely ignore exception and carry on as if nothing bad happened.
      // what you should be doing is something like:
      System.out.println("Error occurred " + e.getMessage());
      e.printStackTrace();
      return e.getMessage();
    }Cheers,

  • Calling Java Bean from Form 9i

    Dear all,
    I have developed a Java Bean and I want to use it in FOrm 9i. I have imported that Bean (.jar file) sucessfully to my form. I use following code to call the Bean:
    declare
    WordDoc ora_java.jobject;
    javaException ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
    Begin
    WordDoc := WordBean.new;
    WordBean.OpenWord(WordDoc, true);

    javaException := ORA_JAVA.LAST_EXCEPTION;
    message(Exception_.getMessage(javaException));
    ORA_JAVA.CLEAR_EXCEPTION;
    WHEN ORA_JAVA.JAVA_ERROR THEN
    message(ORA_JAVA.LAST_ERROR);
    ORA_JAVA.CLEAR_ERROR;
    end;
    But I receive the "raise unhandled Exception Ora-105100" and my form doesn't handle the errors. What am I missing in the code?

    Hi,
    You receive this error because at runtime the form can't find the jar. See note : http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/showdoc?db=NOT&id=169529.1

  • Error while calling java program from ABAP

    Hi Experts,
    We are trying for RFC inbound scenario.
    We followed the below blog
    /people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2004/08/26/setup-and-test-sap-java-connector-outbound-connection
    We are working with SAP JCO 3.0.2
    We are getting the error : 'STFC_CONNECTION' could not be found in the server repository.
    After I run the Java server program if I execute the RFC destination directly from SM 59 it is showing successful messages.
    If I stop the java program then this RFC is failing. Based on this we concluded that RFC to Java connection is working fine.
    But as mentioned in blog if we call the RFC Destination from ABAP program it is giving the below error,
    'STFC_CONNECTION' could not be found in the server repository.
    If we test the RFC destination using RFC_TRUSTED_CHECK standard FM we are getting the below error.
    'RFCPING' could not be found in the server repository.
    We create the RFC destination of Type : TCP/IP as exactly mention in the blog.
    Please help us in resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    Prince

    Pabi,
    Using the RFC connection,we can establish a link between Java and SAP.
    Afterwards,hope we can call Java program from ABAP.
    Below is the sample piece of code to establish RFC connection(link) between Java and SAP.
    DATA: REQUTEXT LIKE SY-LISEL,
          RESPTEXT LIKE SY-LISEL,

  • Error when calling Java Web Services from ABAP.

    Hello experts:
        In my project, I will call Java Web Services with ABAP coding. With WSDL, I generated a proxy class and created a HTTP connection (t-code: SM59) and a logical port (t-code:lpconfig) for this proxy class. But when running, I would receive the folllowing errors:
       SOAP:1.023 SRT: Processing error in Internet Communication Framework: ("ICF Error when receiving the response: HTTP COMMUNICATION FAILURE")
       If I used HTTPS, there is no problem.
    Regards
    Bob

    Hi Bob,
    It might be the possibility that your java web server is configured to listen only on HTTPS.
    If your HTTPS is working fine, then first check with your JAVA server for HTTP connectivity, then try it calling through ABAP.

  • How to call java bean from jsp

    hi
    How to call a java bean from jsp page..
    Is any other way to call javabean from jsp page apart from this sample code...
    <jsp:useBean id="obj" class="com.devsphere.articles.calltag.TestBean"/>
    thnx in advance

    If you also use servlets, you can attach beans to the request or session and use them directly in your JSP's. So if you do:
    request.setAttribute("name", yourBean);and then forward to a JSP, you can reference the bean like:
    ${requestScope.name}

    The first solution is to not do that in java in the first place.
    DDL should be in script files which are applied to oracle outside of java.
    Other than I believe there are some existing stored procedures in Oracle that take DDL strings and process them. Your user has to have permission of course. You can track them down via the documentation.

  • Getting Error while Calling Java File from oblixpppcatalog.lst file

    Hi,
    We are trying to configure userservcenter_workflowCreateProfile in oblixpppcatalog.lst file to call a java class that returns an xml file as below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ObEventParams

    <ObParamList name="ObRequest">
    <ObParam name="sn">
    <ObValue>Smith</ObValue>
    </ObParam>
    </ObParamList>
    </ObEventParams>
    But when we try to run this code by clicking on "Create User Identity" we are getting "An error in Pre/Post Processing of the Page has Occured" or Some times we get "Parse error in XML document sent by event handler to identity server".
    Can some please shed some light on this issue?
    Thanks,
    Ganesh

    Hi Ganesh,
    That event xml looks rather incomplete - I would expect it to contain information about the workflow, and workflow step etc. For example, I have a Create User workflow that generates Event XML beginning:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ObEventParams
    xmlns="http://www.oblix.com/">
    <ObParamList
    name="WfInstance">
    <ObParam
    name="obwfinstanceid">
    <ObValue>f92cab82ee4b43ccba42869bb2928d0c</ObValue>
    </ObParam>
    <ObParam
    name="obworkflowdn">
    <ObValue>obworkflowid=060efe6966674e54be63383290d81e63,obcontainerId=workflowDefinitions,o=Oblix,dc=example,dc=com</ObValue>
    </ObParam>
    <ObParam
    name="obworkflowname">
    <ObValue>Create User</ObValue>
    etc etc...
    You could look at the Event XML that is sent to the plugin from your workflow to a file by reading STDIN and dumping it to a file. There is an example of this in Note 843570.1 (happens to be for a password change event, but it should work for any ppp exec event). Then your code could change the Event XML as required, but keeping the basic structure of the data that is sent to it.

  • No method found error when calling java stored procedured

    hi:
    i am rather confused about this. i have written several
    java stored procedures and all of them work fine. but when i tried another one , the error message 'no method found 'occurs
    when i call the procedure from sqlplus.
    it' s a simple procedure . but it's very strange and happens
    from time to time
    my compile shell as following
    javac -classpath $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/classes12.zip GenFiles.java
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/loadjava -u zw/zw@aixtest GenFiles.class
    and
    my definition as following
    create or replace procedure files(chargeCyckeID varchar2, cycleStart varchar2,cycleEnd varchar2,
    loginName varchar2, filePath varchar2, start1 number, end1 number, step number)
    AS LANGUAGE JAVA
    NAME 'GenFiles.genFile(String , String , String , String , String , int , int , int )';

    i need your help!
    regards
    daniel wang

    Hi again, Daniel,
    I'm only guessing here, but unless you've made lots of mistakes when
    you copied your code to your post to the forum, your method signatures
    don't match. The definition of "genFile" in your java class is quite
    different to what you wrote in your PL/SQL wrapper.
    Also, you have defined "genFile" to be a private method -- I think it
    needs to be public.
    Also, I think the "main" method doesn't need to be in the "GenFiles"
    class -- perhaps you should remove it.
    Also, I think in your PL/SQL wrapper you need to use fully qualified
    names, so use "java.lang.String" and not just "String".
    Lastly, I think you should use the "-force" and "-resolve" flags
    with the "loadjava" command.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.
