Error in Converting File Content in a Sender Adapter
Hi everyone.
We are using File content conversion as message protocol for a simple flat file (sender) .
In the sender communication channel we have configured the recordset structure as follows:
order_row.filedNames : orderid,item,quantity,price
order_row.filedSeparator : ,
order_row.endSeparator : 'nl'
<b>Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'order_row.fieldFixedLengths' or 'order_row.fieldSeparator' is missing Mandatory parameter 'order_row.fieldNames': no value found </b>
In monitoring no XML messages are seen in IDX5.
What is the solution for this kind of problem.
you have to provide values for the recordset structure?
Below i am refering multiple blogs on Content conversion, please refer them to help you get a hand on the same.

Howto use Converting File Content in Rec. Adapt. to suppress a xml-element
Hi,
we use PI/700, SP6.
I have following structure (example):
<MsgOut>
<Sender>Partner1</Sender>
<Receiver>Partner2</Receiver>
<FlatPayload>
blabla blabla
</FlatPayload>
</Msgout>
Now I wanna use a XI-File-Adapter to write just a Flat-File with the content (of the element <FlatPayload>):
blabla blabla
(in other words: I wanna suppress all other xml-elements beside of FlatPayload)
But I'm not able to configurate this with the function "Converting File Content"
I tried different possiblities:
e.g.
setting yyy.fieldFixedLengths = 0 and yyy.fixedLengthTooShortHandling = Cut
(yyy = Sender and Receiver)
or
just defining "MsgOut,FlatPayload" as RecordSet Structure (without Sender and Receiver)
Result: no success.
Now my question: is it possible to suppress some xml-elements?
Thanks for your help!
bye
WolfgangHI,
You can suppress the XML Nodes/Elements over here. Not Fields ..
For e.g if your outout xml is like this
<MsgOut>
<Sender>Partner1</Sender>
<Receiver>Partner2</Receiver>
<FlatPayload>
<flatdata> blabla blabla</flatdatat>
</FlatPayload>
</Msgout>
In this case you can suppress the <FlatPayload> node/element here.. Using Cut Parameter in the Receiver File Content COnversion.
/people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/11/solution-to-the-problem-encountered-using-variable-substitution-with-xi-sp12
So in your case, you can restructure your data type as you required.. I have mentioned in vice-versa here
Hope this helps,

Supress Column Heading - File Content Conversion in Sender Adapter
Hi,
Let me give a more clear picture about my scenario. I need to convert CSV File to XML output:-
My source file has column heading and values. The sample data is mentioned hereunder:-
PERNR;KID;PNALT;NACHN;NAME2;VORNA
;1200;1200;Angus
I have created a data type as under:-
DT_LegacyEmployee (Category - Complex Type)
Employees (Category - Element, Occurence - 1)
Header (Category - Element, Occurence - 0...1)
PERNR_H
KID_H
PNALT_H
NACHN_H
NAME2_H
VORNA_H
Employee (Categroy - Element, Type - DT_LegacyEmployee_Row, Occurence - 0...unbounded)
PERNR
KID
PNALT
NACHN
NAME2
VORNA
The file conversion parameters in the file sender adapter are mentioned hereunder:-
Document Name - MT_LegacyEmployee
Document Namespace - http://abc.com/xi
Recordset Name - Employees
Rescordset Structure - Header,1,Employee,*
Recordsets per Message - 1
Key Field Type - String (Case Sensitive)
Employee.fieldSeparator - ;
Employee.endSeparator - 'nl'
Employee.fieldNames - PERNR,KID,PNALT,NACHN,NAME2,VORNA
I dont' have a key field value. How do we remove the header and show only the values in the xml output. I have searched the forum topics as well checked many blogs related to file content conversion, but nothing helped. Kindly advice how to fix this issue. Thanks in advance.
Regards.
PraveenHi Praveen,
Change your File Adapter as below
Document Name - MT_LegacyEmployee
Document Namespace - http://abc.com/xi
Recordset Name - Employees
Rescordset Structure - Employee,*
Recordsets per Message - 1
Key Field Type - String (Case Sensitive)
Employee.fieldSeparator - ;
Employee.endSeparator - 'nl'
Employee.fieldNames - PERNR,KID,PNALT,NACHN,NAME2,VORNA
There is no need for the Header required in the data type.
DT_LegacyEmployee (Category - Complex Type)
Employees (Category - Element, Occurence - 1)
Employee (Categroy - Element, Type - DT_LegacyEmployee_Row, Occurence - 0...unbounded)
PERNR
KID
PNALT
NACHN
NAME2
VORNA
Now the trick is in the mapping program
Lets assume your mapping looks like
MT_LegacyEmployee ---> MT_TargetEmployee
- Employees ---> Records
- Employee ---> Record
- PERNR ---> TargetPERNR
- .. so on
When you do a mapping from Employee ---> Record apply the following logic.
(PERNR)--->
(TestEquals =) --->(NOT)--->
(Constant) ---> (IF)
(PERNR) (IF Without Else) ---> (Record)
(THEN)
(Employee)--->
When doing this make sure RightClick on PERNR and Select Context ---> Employees.
By default context would be from Employee and it will give you an error of XSD format. So make sure you are changing the context. -
XI 3.0 File Adapter: Converting File Content in Sender Adapter
Hi,
This is probably a basic question but does anyone have an example of the parameters used when you are using the 'Converting File Content' option on the File Adapter ?
Also, where do the record sets have to be defined ? Are these data types in the Integration Builder ?
The documentation is to say the least a bit flaky.
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Colin.Hello,
I'm wondering if someone has experience setting up conversion for different record structures. The example shown (in a greate way) only picture one kind of structure.
How should it be done if the file would contain
10Mat1
20100PCS
The first record structure has columns
ID(2),Material(10)
The second redcord structure has columns
ID(2),Quantity(3), Unit of messure (3)

File Content Conversion Problem: Sender File Adapter
Hi All,
In Sender File Adapter, how to spilt the single line into different lines using + as a separator. Plz see below my source file.

COPS=678713:676968:070416:IV01'3:11IVFR=678713:PDA and'IND 2'9206 AD'Dtn'INIVDA=070416IVNR=6264008195:676968add1
#EMESS=0+
In above txt file there are 3 lines.
1st line starts with #SMESS
2nd line starts with COPS
3rd line starts with #EMESS.
In 2nd line, if u observe there are 3 lines separating by +. My task is, I have to spilt the 2nd line into 3 lines using + separator.
I already used the xx.endSeparator as '+' to spilt the line but it is not working....
Could anyone help me how to do this. This is very urgent

anuradhaHi !!
The best way to debug would be to add TRACE statements in your mappigs. In both Graphical and java Mapping.
Trace out the entire output of java mapping and see if this is the input that the next mapping expects.

How can I convert my specific file content in the Receiver Adapter(XI 7.0)?
Hi all,
I have a document structure as below:
<MT_MATERIAL>
<MATERIAL>
<WERKS>1000</WERKS>
<MATNR>HAD_00001</MATNR>
<MAKTX>CHEMICAL MATERIAL</MAKTX>
</MATERIAL>
</MT_MATERIAL>
This document structure is the file content in the Receiver Adapter (File Adapter). In the 'Content Conversion' tab of File Adapter of Communication Channel 'CC_OUT_MATERIAL_FILE', I have configured the parameters as below:
Recordset Structure: MATERIAL
MT_MATERIAL.fieldSeparator: '
MT_MATERIAL.endSeparator: 'nl'
MATERIAL.fieldSeparator: '
MATERIAL.endSeparator: 'nl'
*.fieldSeparator: ,
But, this Communication Channel 'CC_OUT_MATERIAL_FILE' (in the Runtime WorkBench/Component Monitoring/Adapter Engine/Communication Channel Monitoring) is error with the error message as below:
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter '.fieldFixedLengths' or '.fieldSeparator' is missing
Could anyone please help me to correct this error, how should i configure the parameters in the 'Content Conversion' tab?

Converting File Content.Unexpected XML format
Hello,
I need to convert file content in File Receiver Adapter.
In my opinion, i have unexpected XML format of a payload message. (At least, the format does not contain a structure element):
That is,
I have the XML message:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ns0:MT_BW ID="123" BirthDay="20/03/1969" Title="consultant" Name="John" LastName="Smith" xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/BASIS"/>
I need to convert it into plane text format with fieldseparator.
How to convert this xml message into plane text format if it does not contain any structure elements (that is, <struc1> <field1>value</field1> </struc1>) according to help guide?
How should i configure RecordSet in File Adapter?
I am confused.
Thank youIgor,
Are u getting the format from the source?
<ns0:MT_BW ID="123" BirthDay="20/03/1969" Title="consultant" Name="John" LastName="Smith" xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/BASIS"/>
If yes, then create one more data type with structure
<Record>
<ID/>
<BirthDay/>
<Title/>
<Name/>
<LastName/>
</Record>
And do direct mapping. So now you can easily configure the content conversion for the target format isn't it?
Its my thought, I don't know whether its feasible for you or not..

Content conversion in sender adapter.
Hi,
I have a problem with the content conversion in sender adapter.
I need only process the csv file with the exact number of columns containing the structure, if the csv file contains more o less columns in the csv file, I want that this files are not relayed by the adapter and remain on the server.
Thank you very much for your help.@ Hareen
This can be achieved at mapping level. You need to check the number of columns that are comming in the file using Count function. If the number of count is equal to the value specified then will process the message else raises a mapping exception.
Are you talking about "count" function in the message mapping? that function won't count the number of fields / columns, but would count the number of occurrence of a particular field. -
File Content Conversion in JMS Adapter
Hello,
I am trying to use module parameters to convert File to XML in Sender JMS adapter. I have followed the instructions in the SAP document (3.1 Example of a Simple Conversion in a Sender Communication Channel)
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50061bd9-e56e-2910-3495-c5faa652b710
The problem I am facing is instead of creating one xml message for all the lines in the file; it is creating one message per line. Not sure what I need to do get all the lines in to one xml message.
Please let me know if any of you have faced similar issue.
Thanks
AVThe Parameter xml.recordsetsPerMessage can only be used if it is a complex structure. I mean it needs a recordSet with Keys..etc and What I am trying to do is a simple FCC using
Transform.Class=com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
Transform.ContentType=text/xml;charset=utf-8
xml.conversionType=SimplePlain2XML
xml.documentName=PurchaseOrder_Root
xml.documentNamespace=http://namespace
xml.fieldFixedLengths =2,10,10,3,..
xml.fieldNames = DATA1,DATA2,DATA3....
xml.processFieldNames=fromConfiguration
xml.structureTitle=PurchaseOrder
<b>I am expecting</b>
<PurchaseOrder_Root>
<PurchaseOrder>
<DATA1> </DATA1>
<DATA2> </DATA2>
</PurchaseOrder>
<PurchaseOrder>
<DATA1> </DATA1>
<DATA2> </DATA2>
</PurchaseOrder>
</PurchaseOrder_Root>
<b>When I use the above Module Config it is giving me </b>
</PurchaseOrder_Root>
<PurchaseOrder>
<DATA1> </DATA1>
<DATA2> </DATA2>
</PurchaseOrder>
</PurchaseOrder_Root>
</PurchaseOrder_Root>
<PurchaseOrder>

File Content Conversion in Sender Adapater
Hi Folks ,
I am doing a file 2 file scneario using content conversion at both end
My i/p and o/p is file is tab delimited
My source xml structure is
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ns0:file_sender_mt xmlns:ns0="urn:filetofiledemo">

<data>
<name/>
<keyfield/>
<age/>
<loc>
<keyfield/>
</loc>
</data>
</recordset>
</ns0:file_sender_mt>
Data and location have the mapping 1.. unbounded
while data1 has the mapping 1.1
When I am trying to read it as a tab delimited flat file.
These are the parameters that i have set
Document Name file_sender_mt
Document Namespace urn:filetofiledemo
Recordset Name recordset
Recordset Structure data1,1,data, ,loc,
Key Field Name keyfield
data1.fieldNames keyfield,age1
ignoreRecordsetName true
recordset.fieldSeparator '0'
data1.fieldSeparator '0x09'
data1.keyFieldValue 01
data1.endSeparator '0'
data.beginSeparator '0x09'
data.fieldSeparator '0x09'
data.fieldNames name,keyfield,age
data.keyFieldValue 02
loc.fieldSeparator '0x09'
loc.beginSeparator '0x09'
loc.endSeparator '0'
loc.keyFieldValue 03
loc.fieldNames keyfield
My file is getting picked up . I dont see any message in message monitoring and neither anything in moni .
No error in adapater
but the file is not getting created .
if i change the message protocol to file and send t above xml file . the scneario works fine
any reasons for the above behaviour
Thanks
AmitI have found you cant use nested element in sender adapater
so i have chnage my source structure to
Now if i give my i/p file as
01 age1
02 25 03
file is getting pciked up
bt if i give it as
01 age1 02 25 03
which is the structure i expect my i/p file it is failing to read with the error
Error: Conversion of complete file content to XML format failed around position 0: Exception: ERROR converting document line no. 1 according to structure 'data1':java.lang.Exception: ERROR in configuration: more elements in file csv structure than field names specified!
Does The special character ´0´ is not a separator character.
not work for sender adapater bcoz in reciever i am able to get o/p in one line and tab delimited
any idea
and since i have given my keyfield as the second field in data
02 would come at the second palce
Thanks
