  • Two physical logical source formulas for on logical column

    I have two fact tables :
    1. W_SERVICE_REQ_F(opened_dt_wid, assigned_dt_wid, closed_dt_wid, QUEUE_WID, SERVICE_REQ_WID): grain is one row per service request
    2. W_SERVICE_REQ_DAY_A(DATE_WID, QUEUE_WID, NUM_OPENED, NUM_CLOSED, num_assigned)
    The goal is to answer NUM_OPENED, NUM_CLOSED per queue in a day and be able to drill-down to those service requests.
    Physical model:
    Common_Date.row_wid = W_SERVICE_REQ_F (Opened_Dt).opened_dt_wid
    Common_Date.row_wid = W_SERVICE_REQ_F (Closed_Dt).closed_dt_wid
    Common_Date.row_wid = W_SERVICE_REQ_DAY_A.DATE_WID
    Queue_d.row_wid = W_SERVICE_REQ_F.QUEUE_WID
    Queue._drow_wid = W_SERVICE_REQ_DAY_A.QUEUE_WID
    Service_req_d.row_wid = W_SERVICE_REQ_F.SERVICE_REQ_WID. (there is no join between Queue_d and Service_req_d)
    BMM Fact and LTSs:
    I have W_SERVICE_REQ_DAY_A, W_SERVICE_REQ_F (Opened_Dt), W_SERVICE_REQ_F (Closed_Dt) as LTSs of "Fact - Service Request" in that order.
    BMM Fact logical columns (measures):
    # Closed
    # Opened
    Question:
    I want to configure each of the above logical column with two physical columns of different aggregate forumlas. (to ensure queries that dont need service req number hit a table) (similar to http://www.gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/fragmentationlevel_based).
    SUM(W_SERVICE_REQ_DAY_A.NUM_CLOSED)
    COUNT("W_SERVICE_REQ_F (Closed_Dt)".SERVICE_REQ_WID)
    Can someone help in configuring one logical column with two physical column sources with different aggregate formulas?
    This is what I tried:
    In # Opened Properites->Data Type, mapped it to both W_SERVICE_REQ_F (Closed_Dt).ROW_WID and W_SERVICE_REQ_DAY_A.NUM_CLOSED
    In # Opened Properties->Aggregation tab, selected 'Default aggregation rule' as Count Distinct. In the bottom, Logical table sources override as follows:
    W_SERVICE_REQ_DAY_A : SUM("Fact - Service Request"."# Closed")
    W_SERVICE_REQ_F : COUNT("Fact - Service Request"."# Closed")
    Should it be done in a different way?

  • Logical Column for calculation

    Hi guru,
    My requirement is we have to display report with Total count of Opportunities , Count new Oppty ( which are created with in 30days from today ) Count Old Opptys ( which are created more than 30days ago and Overdue ( which closed date is > current Date).
    For this requirement I had created one logical column and I am getting error when ever I am using Timestampdiff.
    Could you please let me know how can I create these 3 logical columns in Meta Data.
    I am rally appreciate for your help.

    Here is what you need to do:
    1. Create a Session Variable in your RPD
    2. Check the "Enable any user to set the value" checkbox in the Session Variable properties
    3. In your dashboard prompt, select"Request Variable" in the Set Variable section
    4. Enter the name of your Session Variable in the box that appears
    5. Now you can reference the session variable in the formula of your logical column. Syntax: VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.YOUR_SESSION_VARIABLE)
    Note: You cannot reference Presentation Variables in the RPD

    Hi Enrique,
    According to your description, after added a content type into the new site and save the site as a template, there is an issue when creating another new with the newly
    site template.
    Based on the error message “The formula refers to a column that does not exist…”, seems that it would be an issue of a Calculated column in the content type you added,
    please go through all the Calculated column in that content type to see if the formulas all work well.
    Feel free to reply if there any progress.

  • OBIEE Error in Logical column

    Hi,
    I want to use dynamic variable and filter the dates. I am creating new logical column in BMM using the below case statement. I am getting the error.Please suggest me for this issue.
    CASE statement:
    CASE WHEN VALUEOF(CURRENT_MONTH_FNC_STG) = '08 2010' THEN
    "FNC_STG"."A_FNC_INVOICES_T"."INVOICE_CREATION_DATE" BETWEEN ('08/01/2010 12:00:00 AM') AND ('08/05/2010 12:00:00 AM')
    END
    --Here CURRENT_MONTH_FNC_STG is dynamic variable....
    Error:
    [nQSError: 27002] Near <BETWEEN>: Syntax error [nQSError: 26012] .
    Thank U

    Hi...
    if avg sales should be calculated to current month always.. then why don't you apply external filter ..
    i hope you are having time dimension columns like: year and month which is holding values like 2010, 2009.. etc, and 1,2,3,4.. etc..
    If then,
    apply this filter..
    Year = Current_Date
    and
    MonthNumber = Month(Current_Date)
    you can't include those 2 r.h.s values directly..
    click on filter option of year column then > Advance > convert this filter to SQL.

  • Derived Logical Column throws an error

    Hello
    I get the 46036 error from Answers when I add a field that I created in the BMM of the RPD. We are on OBIEE 10.3.4.2. I added a logical column to a table and applied a filter for a particular age band. I can check the change in without any errors but when I use that field with that expression I get the nQSError.
    *[nQSError: 46036] Internal Assertion Condition pExpr->IsValueExpr(), file*
    Ahsan/Naveen, any ideas on this? You guys have been always helpful with my questions.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Not sure if this helps but found a few things online on this..may just require a resave or re-import of the specific report (http://tipsonobiee.blogspot.com/2009/06/error-nqserror-46036-internal-assertion.html). If you are on Solaris 64 there is also a bug associated with this. "[nQSError 46036] Internal Assertion Error" After Upgrading to OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 [ID 566463.1] suggesting to change the following parameter:
    A workaround is to make only off line changes.
    The bug states the following:
    "The solution was to set the following in NQSConfig.INI
    SERVER_THREAD_STACK_SIZE = 1024 KB"
    This is not the same exact OBIEE version. Try these 2 suggestions and let us know how it goes.

  • YTD Actual and Budget Formula in Logical column

    Hello,
    Im trying to replicate a report from Oracle EBS into OBIEE.
    I have to create logical columns for YTD Actual , YTD Budget,Current month actual, Current Month Budget using GL_BALANCES table. The formula currently im using is,
    YTD Actual:
    CASE WHEN GL_BALANCES.ACTUAL_FLAG = 'A' THEN (GL_BALANCES.PERIOD_NET_DR - GL_BALANCES.PERIOD_NET_CR)+ (GL_BALANCES.BEGIN_BALANCE_DR - GL_BALANCES.BEGIN_BALANCE_CR) ELSE 0 END
    YTD Budget :
    CASE WHEN .GL_BALANCES.ACTUAL_FLAG = 'B' THEN GL_BALANCES.PERIOD_NET_DR - .GL_BALANCES.PERIOD_NET_CR + (.GL_BALANCES.BEGIN_BALANCE_DR - GL_BALANCES.BEGIN_BALANCE_CR) ELSE 0 END
    Current Month actual :
    TODATE(GL_BALANCES."YTD Actual", "Time Dim"."Month")
    Current Month Budget :
    TODATE(GL_BALANCES."YTD Budget", "Time Dim"."Month")
    Please let me know, if my calculations are right.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I have only one KF and after closing the month, I would load actuals to the Budget KF itself.
    Right now this coulmn is a formula with below:
    ( 1 <= 'Last Actual' ) * 'Jan / Actual' + ( 1 > 'Last Actual' ) * 'Jan / &0T_VERS&'
    And the column heading is "January Act/Budget"
    At the moment it is confusing for users to know which figures are Actuals and which are Budget.
    Thanks

  • Aggregation tab disabled for fx logical columns

    Click on LTS of Table - Column Mapping - Select the logical column - click on expression - Put your logic here. You will get Aggregation rule is enalbed for the column.
    Why ? -- Reason could be nested aggregation is not allowed. Aggregation on the normal column applied during query generation at run time. If you use that Agg.Measure to derive another Agg.measure server could not recognize it during runtime.

  • How do I edit formulas at once

    So I find this very frustrating and have not found a solution ( I'm hoping there is one to make my life easier and more efficient ); i am trying to edit formulas and am having to do it one by one.  I have about 50 formulas or more, that are based upon columns in a stored procedure, and i need to change them to another stored procedure that has exact same columns.  However, the find and replace will not work on formulas just on text.
    For example:
    Current
      If (procA.needscellphone) = 1 then true else false
    Need
       If (procB.needscellphone) = 1 then true else false
    Yes both stored procedures have been added to the report
    Is there anyway to change all these formulas at once?  Having to manually edit them one by one is tedious and seems to be quite archaic for a program like Crystal.  I hope someone has a way for me to do this in such a way that will significantly reduce my time.
    thank you.

    Hi Doug,
    Use RAS to get the formula collection and the .Clone to copy it, make the change to the text and then use the .Modify to apply the change.
    Something like this:
    btnReportObjects.Text = "";
    int flcnt = 0;
    #region do not delete
    ////do not delete - this works
    ////rptClientDoc.DataDefController.FormulaFieldController.Remove(resultField);
    //CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ObjectFactory.ObjectFactory objFactory = new CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ObjectFactory.ObjectFactory();
    //CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.FormulaField Formula = (CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.FormulaField)objFactory.CreateObject("CrystalReports.FormulaField");
    //Formula.Type = CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeStringField;
    //Formula.Syntax = CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.CrFormulaSyntaxEnum.crFormulaSyntaxCrystal;
    //Formula.Text = @"whilereadingrecords; ""A"""; // "hello Ludek = 1"; // resultField.Text; // "n=3"; {Customer.Customer Credit ID} + 1 @"whilereadingrecords; ""A"""
    //Formula.Name = "TestDon"; // "TestDon"; //  resultField.Name; //"testformula";
    //String FormulaMessage = rptClientDoc.DataDefController.FormulaFieldController.Check(Formula);
    //if (FormulaMessage == null)
    //    rptClientDoc.DataDefController.FormulaFieldController.Add(Formula);
    //else
    //    btnReportObjects.Text += "There are errors in the formula: " + FormulaMessage.ToString() + "\n";
    ////do not delete - this works
    #endregion do not delete
    //rptClientDoc.SaveAs("don2.rpt", @"D:\Atest\CrystalTest_3501213_2013", 0);
    btnCount.Text = rptClientDoc.DataDefController.DataDefinition.FormulaFields.Count.ToString();
    foreach (FormulaField resultField in rptClientDoc.DataDefController.DataDefinition.FormulaFields)
        textBox1 = resultField.LongName.ToString();
        btnReportObjects.Text += textBox1;
        btnReportObjects.AppendText(" : Used: " + resultField.UseCount.ToString() + " times'End' \n");
        ++flcnt;
        btnCount.Text = flcnt.ToString();
        String FormulaMessage = rptClientDoc.DataDefController.FormulaFieldController.Check(resultField);

  • Error in Dimension formula to find the average price

    Hi all,
    I have tried a dimension formula to find the average price of Product.
    if the product is a parent level member then average price should be the average of the list price,other wise it should be the list price itself.
    IIF([PRODUCT].CURRENTMEMBER.PROPERTIES("CALC")="N",[KEYFIGURES].[LISTPRICE],AVG(DESCENDANTS([PRODUCT].CURRENTMEMBER,[KEYFIGURES].[LISTPRICE],LEAVES)))
    While i tried the same i received some strange error , i don know whether its having some dependency on the Customer dimension. since K0030101 is a memebr belonging to CUSTOMER dimension.
    MDX statement error:"Value K0030101 for characteristic /CPMB/U6D7SXT un"
    I'm not sure whether its an error with  the formula i created or any dependancy issue or whether this scenario is possible  using  dimension formulas or not.
    Thanks in advance .
    Anila Mohan

    Hi everyone!
    We are using BPC 7.5 NW SP08 and we've had the same error message while adding a formula to the Account dimension:
    'MDX statement error: "Value 1 for characteristic /CPMB/S9D7Q23 un".
    We then checked in BW for /CPMB/S9D7Q23 and found out that it was the Product dimension.
    The solution for the issue was quite interesting. I had seen in another post that sometimes CALC property was not correctly determined for SP08. The solution proposed was to edit dimension members, clear ParentH1 column, process dimension, re-edit, paste back ParentH1 values and process dimension again. This corrected CALC property problem.
    It also worked for my case. After doing it to Product dimension I tried again to set the formula in Account dimension and it worked!!
    Hope this helps.

  • SQL Error: ORA-12899: value too large for column

    Hi,
    I'm trying to understand the above error. It occurs when we are migrating data from one oracle database to another:
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-12899: value too large for column "USER_XYZ"."TAB_XYZ"."COL_XYZ" (actual: 10, maximum: 8)
    12899. 00000 - "value too large for column %s (actual: %s, maximum: %s)"
    *Cause:    An attempt was made to insert or update a column with a value
    which is too wide for the width of the destination column.
    The name of the column is given, along with the actual width
    of the value, and the maximum allowed width of the column.
    Note that widths are reported in characters if character length
    semantics are in effect for the column, otherwise widths are
    reported in bytes.
    *Action:   Examine the SQL statement for correctness.  Check source
    and destination column data types.
    Either make the destination column wider, or use a subset
    of the source column (i.e. use substring).
    The source database runs - Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production
    The target database runs - Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
    The source and target table are identical and the column definitions are exactly the same. The column we get the error on is of CHAR(8). To migrate the data we use either a dblink or oracle datapump, both result in the same error. The data in the column is a fixed length string of 8 characters.
    To resolve the error the column "COL_XYZ" gets widened by:
    alter table TAB_XYZ modify (COL_XYZ varchar2(10));
    -alter table TAB_XYZ succeeded.
    We now move the data from the source into the target table without problem and then run:
    select max(length(COL_XYZ)) from TAB_XYZ;
    -8
    So the maximal string length for this column is 8 characters. To reduce the column width back to its original 8, we then run:
    alter table TAB_XYZ modify (COL_XYZ varchar2(8));
    -Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-01441: cannot decrease column length because some value is too big
    01441. 00000 - "cannot decrease column length because some value is too big"
    *Cause:
    *Action:
    So we leave the column width at 10, but the curious thing is - once we have the data in the target table, we can then truncate the same table at source (ie. get rid of all the data) and move the data back in the original table (with COL_XYZ set at CHAR(8)) - without any issue.
    My guess the error has something to do with the storage on the target database, but I would like to understand why. If anybody has an idea or suggestion what to look for - much appreciated.
    Cheers.

    So the maximal string length for this column is 8 characters. To reduce the column width back to its original 8, we then run:
    alter table TAB_XYZ modify (COL_XYZ varchar2(8));varchar2(8 byte) or varchar2(8 char)?
    Use SQL Reference for datatype specification, length function, etc.

    Hi All,
    this error normally comes when the WLS domain is not not properly created. if you get some exception for ./provesecurity.sh file while creating the domain, then the XML error comes.
    I did not went into the depth but figured out a workaround: restart the VM/hosted box and then create the domain, remember to use diff port name while creating it from the domain creation script.

  • How To Create Logical column For Lastyear To Till Date

    Hi All,
    I Have to calculate Lastyear to Till Date for Logical Column.
    Ex:I have Time Dime and Fact column and Dimension columns.
    jan 2011 to oct 2012.
    Please Let me know.
    Thanks,
    Abhi

    Looks like you are not reading my messages
    Since you are doing on logical columns getting this error.
    Try this using physical columns then count from aggregate tab
    CASE WHEN "Oracle Data Warehouse"."Catalog"."dbo"."Fact_W_SRVREQ_F_Open_Date"."OPEN_DT_WID" > 20110101 THEN "Oracle Data Warehouse"."Catalog"."dbo"."Fact_W_SRVREQ_F_Open_Date"."SR_WID" END
    The same you can go with your variable
    Or else the same can do by duplicating the existing Fact - CRM - Service Request"."# of SRs" and just add above code.
    or just use the below you dont use sum since already aggregation is happend for # of SRs
    CASE WHEN "Core"."Dim - Date"."Year" = VALUEOf("Warehouse Refresh Date Last Year"."CURRENT_CALENDAR_YEAR_LAST_YEAR") AND "Core"."Dim - Date"."Date" < VALUEOF("Warehouse Refresh Date Last Year"."LAST_REFRESH_DATE_LAST_YEAR") THEN "Core"."Fact - CRM - Service Request"."# of SRs" END
    Hope this works, mark as correct
