You need to execute this T-SQL command using an account that does have administrative rights, such as sa:
USE master;
EXECUTE sp_addsrvrolemember @loginame = N'YourAppUserLogin', @rolename = N'dbcreator';
Replace YourAppUserLogin with
the login the application user uses to connect to the database.

SQL Database Creation Error

Just signed up to MS Azure account on the free trial, and I am trying to create a new database (I've tried this via Quick Create and Custom Create) but I just get a message:
Could not submit the request to create database 'MattTest'.
Any reason as to why this doesn't work? Thanks.

thanksEven if you want to do it manually as a learning exercise, I'd advise you to use dbca. Select 'custom' database type, and at the end select 'create scripts' without actually creating a database. Then study those scripts.

During first installation of IDM database there was no problem. So it seems it's a environnement parameter or Oracle parameter issue. Has anyone encountered the same problem ?
We were told there were no changes either on Oracle or on the system. But there must have been a change somehow impacting the language.
Do you have any idea on the Oracle parameters that could be involved ?

Hi,
I was facing the same problem and it was not possible to create an identity store.
The solution for me was increasing the oracle sga_max_size and shared_pool_size parameters.
They had the initial value fom installation of AS Java and setting shared_pool_size to 400MB fixed the procedure compilation problem.
After that I rerun the mxmc-update.cmd script and no more errors show up.
Creating idenitiy stores also works now.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to access sharepoint site with one application server.
It was due to the MOM/SCOM Agent that has a SharePoint management pack installed, the agents Windows Service runs as ‘Local System’ and thus causes this.
The workaround is to either kill the SCOM agent service, or set it to run as a dedicated service account.
In addtion, I recommend to add the logon account of the SharePoint Timer service as a user of the SharePoint_Config database. Give role membership to the account db_owner.
You also need to add the SharePoint accounts back into sql server.

New Trial Account - Now unable to create even a BASIC SQL Database...

Hey,
I signed up for a 30-day trial account on Azure, and in the first 24 hours managed to successfully set up a Windows VM, and a SQL Database.
Over several hours, I then used the Azure SQL Database Migration tools to import a large test database from an on-premises SQL Server.
All went fine, until suddenly, during the data migration, all connections to the Azure SQL Database were lost, both from my local machine, and from the Azure VM.
I was unable to re-establish a connection to the Azure SQL Database.
In desperation, I deleted the Azure SQL database, and attempted to create another.
But every attempt failed.
I have tried from both the old and new Azure portals, and get the message after a few seconds "Error creating SQL Database".
I have attempted creating databases both at "Basic" and "Standard" levels, but get the same result.
There is still 99%+ left of the credit balance that came with the trial account, so I am at a loss as to what has happened, or what to do next.
Can anyone help?

While Installation of 11g database creation time error ORA-28056: Writing audit records to Windows Event Log failed Error

OS = Windows XP 3
Database = Oracle 11g R2 32 bit
Processor= intel p4 2.86 Ghz
Ram = 2 gb
Virtual memory = 4gb
I was able to install the oracle 11g successfully, but during installation at the time of database creation I got the following error many times and I ignored it many times... but at 55% finally My installation was hanged nothing was happening after it.....
ORA-28056: Writing audit records to Windows Event Log failed Error and at 55% my Installation got hung,,,, I end the installation and tried to create the database afterward by DBCA but same thing happened....
Please some one help me out, as i need to install on the same machine .....

Creation of the dbcontrol requires a connection via the listener. When configuring the dbcontrol as part of database creation, it appears that the dbcontrol creation step runs before the dynamic registration of the databsase with the listener is complete. Now that the database itself is completed and enough time (really, just a minute or two) has passed to allow the instance to register, use dbca or emca to create the dbcontrol.
Are you able to get a sqlplus connection via the listener (sqlplus scott/tiger@orcl)? That needs to be the first order of business.

Error while Assigning database level role (db_datareader) to SQL login (Domain Account)

I got an error while creating a User for Domain Account. Below is the screen shot of the error (error : 15401)
Database instance is on SQL 2000 SP3. ( I know it is out of support, But the customer is relutanct to upgrade)
On Google search, i found below article which is best matching for this error

I have follows each step of troubleshooting. But still the issue persists.
Step 1. The login does not exist == The login is very much exist in the domain as i am able to add the same domain id to other database instances
Step 2. Duplicate security identifiers == i have used this query to find duplicate SID

But there was only one row returned with create date of today's.

A. Creating login and providing permission in one go only = User account is not created
B. Instead of GUI, use query to create login and provide required permission = Same error.

Error upon inserting data in sql Database using stream analytics job: Datatye error conversion

I have a data passed into the Event Hubs, queried by stream analytic job inserting it into sql database. Upon running the job, it becomes idle a few seconds after since it has an error:
Message: Conversion from 0 to System.Boolean failed. 0 was of type - System.Int64.
Conversion from 0 to System.Boolean failed. 0 was of type - System.Int64. Exception message at level [1], exception number [0], parent exception number [0]: Conversion from 0 to System.Boolean failed. 0 was of type - System.Int64.
The data type in one of my field(IsHistorical) is Boolean with a value of false. The data type of the column in the sql table where this is to be inserted is of type bit. In this case, it seems that stream analytics could not convert the value "false"
into a bit data type when inserting in sql table.
I'm wondering if you already have encountered this problem. Could you help me resolve this problem?

Azure Stream Analytics does not have Boolean type. On input we will convert JSON Boolean value to bigint.

i have done a system copy from production server into quality server. quality was scrapped and freshly installed with SAP then used the DB flush method to carry out the system copy. i had to change the DBS_ORA_SCHEMA in environment variables to SAP<SOURCE SID> from SAPSR3. the sap version is ECC6.0,DB is ORACLE10.2 on WIN NT.

If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
The exception must either be prevented, caught within proedure
"INITIATE_JOB_START" "(FORM)", or its possible occurrence must be declared in
the
RAISING clause of the procedure.

This is because the COUNT(*) is returning a value which is longer than the INT4 data type it is expecting. If you restrict the selection by introducing a WHERE clause, then you won't get the dump:
