Error in writing file

Hi,
I wrote a JApplet application where I want to save some input data in a file maned temp.txt
The following piece of code throws this error:
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission temp.txt write)
     at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(Unknown Source)
     at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(Unknown Source)
     at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(Unknown Source)
     at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkWrite(Unknown Source)
     at java.io.FileOutputStream.<init>(Unknown Source)
     at java.io.FileWriter.<init>(Unknown Source)
Any suggestion would be very useful
Here is the simplified code embedded in the actionPerformed method of a JButton
     public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt)
     if (evt.getSource() == enter)
     {// Opens if statement and writes all information to filename
     File outputFile = new File("temp.txt");
     String surnameText = surname.getText();
     String nameText = name.getText();
     try
BufferedWriter bw = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(outputFile,true));
bw.write(nameText);
bw.write(surnameText);
bw.flush();
bw.close();
catch (IOException ioe)

Hi,
It was a long time ago since I last wrote an applet. And how you sign applets changes all the time. Here is how you did for JDK 1.2, I don't know if it's still valid.
