Error Migrating Ms Access Data

I use the OMW and everything goes ok, schemas are created etc , but the data won't migrate. I get the following error in the log...
Type: Error
Time: 02-03-2006 18:15:57
Phase: Migrating
Message: Unable to migrate data from source table Table1 to destination table TestDB97.TABLE1 : TestDB97.TABLE1; [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Not a valid file name.
Anyone got any ideas?, like what is not a valid file name?.
Regards
Sean

Hi Sean,
The error you are getting is an MS Jet Database Engine error, as it appears that the workbench is unable to locate the MDB successfully. Is the MDB file containing the data in the same location as when you ran the Exporter tool on it? This can be easily verified by clicking on the <database name> node of the Source Model tree and view the path information in the right "General" tab. Ensure that the MDB file resides on the same machine as the workbench, and in the same location as when it was exported. Also, ensure that all your DSN information is set up correctly.
For further information , please refer to the "Migration Table Data Using Microsoft Access ODBC Data Sources" in Chapter 4, Troubleshooting of the Oracle Migration Workbench Reference Guide for Microsoft Access Migrations. If you are still experiencing issues after verifying the above, please let me know.
I hope this helps.

It looks like the adapter engine is not able to register him self on SLD, you have to check in the SLD the "Exchange Infrastructure" domain, you have to verify restarting the J2EE the adapter engine update the entries in the SLD related to the specific XI Domain.
Launch Visual Administrator >> Server >> Services >> SAP AF CPA Cache
    Enter the appropriate values for:
    SLD.selfregistration.hostname (Use fully qualified hostname)
    SLD.selfregistration.httpPort
    SLD.selfregistration.httpsPort

  • Error while reading access data (URL, user, password) for the Adapter Engin

    Hi all,
I encountered a red flag in sxmb_moni and when I click on the flag, I get the following message:
Error while reading access data (URL, user, password) for the Adapter Engine
Is there any way I can resolve this? thanks all
    Regards,

Possible reason is Adapter engine is not registered on SLD. Check in SLD.
You can also try restarting J2EE adapter engine and update SLD entries specific to XI domain.
Lauch Visual admin go to Server > services > SAP AF CPA Cache
    Enter the appropriate values for:
    SLD.selfregistration.hostname (Use fully qualified hostname)
    SLD.selfregistration.httpPort
    SLD.selfregistration.httpsPort
Finally, if all the above seem to be correct check the userID / pwd for user ID : PI*.

  • Why can't I migrate the Access data?

Hello everyone : ),who can help me?
    Access2000 -->Oracle 9i
    with following steps:
1.I use the Exporter for MS Access tool (omwb2000.mde) to extract the data from my Access MDB file. There is no error in this procedure.
2.Then , I use the Capture Source Database Wizard to capture database and no error.
3.Finaly ,I use the Migration Wizard ,errors appear "Unable to migrate data from source table *** to destination table ***" ,it prompt "modify your access automaticlly".
The result is , I can see the table structure in the Oracle Enterprise manager console but no data.
    What's the reason?
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi,
If you are receiving the "JET/DAO error code 3265" error, the full text of this error message will read "3265 Item not found in this collection". The only circumstances I would believe you will receive this error message is where the table name you are trying to locate in the MS Access MDB file has been changed. Is it possible that you migrated your MS Access database, and selected the "modifying MS Access database" option without migrating the data, but then went back to migrate the data later?
During the "Modifying the Microsoft Access Database" process carried out by the workbench, the MS Access database is modified to allow the MS Access forms and reports to operate against the migrated data in the Oracle database. The original Microsoft Access tables are renamed to <tablename>L.  The original table is exported to Oracle where it is called <tablename>.  A table attachment is created to the Oracle table with the name <tablename>R.
When you open the MS Access MDB file, do the table names have "_L" and "_R" at the end of their names? If so, you have the option of using the "Exporter for MS Access tool" to extract your data, and then use SQL*Loader scripts generated by the workbench, to load the data into your Oracle database. When you have extracted the data from your MDB file using the Exporter tool, modify the generated .DAT files to remove any references to "_L" in the .DAT file name or in the file content. Then generate the required SQL*Loader scripts for these tables - please refer to Oracle Migration Workbench User's Guide for steps to generate the required SQL*Loader Control Files and how to use them.
Also, you mention that you do not have an ODBC DSN set up. As part of the install, a DSN called "omwb_msaccess" should have been created. As I mentioned previously, please ensure that this exists.
    I hope this helps.

    Hilary

  • Migration issue - X-OWA-Error: SDServerErr;Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.StoragePermanentException

Im in the middle of a rather large migration and a few users are see the below error when trying to log in to OWA:
X-OWA-Error: SDServerErr;Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.StoragePermanentExceptionI cant find much on this error other than the enable inheritance permissions fix which all these accounts already have.Has anyone else come across this before?

    Hi
This problem occurs because the discretionary access control list (DACL) inheritance is disabled on the user account in Active Directory. The Exchange Servers group must have permissions
to write the msExchUserCulture attribute on the user when the language has been specified in OWA.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
    1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
    2. Click View, and then click Advanced Features.
Note To make the Security tab available at both the user level and the organizational unit level, you must enable the Advanced Features option in Active Directory Users and Computers. This option is available under the View menu.
    3. Open the properties for both the user level and the organizational unit level that the users are located in, and then locate the Security tab.
    4. Click Advanced.
    5. Make sure that the following check box is selected:
Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object and all child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined here.
    6. Force Active Directory replication.

  • Error: 12705 Cannot access NLS data

I have just downloaded and installed 11.2 Express Edition + Oracle SQL developer on Windows 7 but when I tried to connect it returned me an error: 12705 Cannot access NLS data.
I tried to change NLS_LANG param in registry & skipped NLS settings bit it did not helped.
    How to resolve this?

The previous locale was set to Russia
I have Win 7 32xAccording to Installation guide section 9, about supported language configurations, not many language message files are included.
But I suspect something else is going on here. You could try changing Windows OS back to Russian locale and do:
    set nls_lang=russian_russia.cl8mswin1251
    sqlplus / as sysdba
Fortunately, there are many people who are able to install successfully by simply adhering to the steps in this GuideAs indicated above, with Oracle at the very minimum you need to read and follow the Installation guide for the product.
Oracle Database is an extremely capable development and deployment platform for database centric applications. It is also vast and complex, so don't be suprised if you need to spend a couple of years to get well oriented with it. One of the first things a new user should do is to get familiar with the relevant Documentation library.

  • SSMA: Error migrate data mysql = Sql Server

    Hello,
I'm trying to migrate a database Mysql 5.1 to SQL Server 2008 with SSMA.
The server hosting the SQL database is on Windows 2008 Enterprise x64.
The user connecting to the SQL database is sysadmin.
Phases to convert and sync happen without problems, but the migration of data blocks it.
    The log tells me out:
    Data migration operation has finished.
    0 table (s) successfully migrated.
    0 table (s) Partially migrated.
46 table (s) failed to migrate.
The Data Migration Report is empty with only a red cross next to my table names.
I tried to migrate in client mode and server mode = same result.
    Any ideas ?
EDIT: miss, this thread shoud be in section SQL Server Migration. A moderator can move my post please ?

    Apparently the error
occurs only on the columns of type DateTime,
default 0000-00-00 00:00:00 but not on
    primary key.
Example of data to be converted: 2011-04-06
    10:39:32.
SSMA is proposing to convert them datetime2
    (0).
I tried manually edited with Datetime
    conversion, datetime2, smalldatetime
=> all end up in error.
And if I put the 'Date
Zero In migration' = 'Error' instead of
    'Set Null' another error
    appears:
'Can not convert String provided for the
    data source type datetime2'

    LOCATION (<diectory_name>:' '),
then also it is giving the same error.
    Please Help!

I am also got the same error when retrieving the data from external table.
I resolve this problem, like this:
    1. I imported the flat file(.csv) into repository.
    2. Map that flat file fields to database table cols.
    3. Deployed the mapping using controlcenter, and run the mapping.
    4. if it fails there, i loaded the flatfile data through the command prompt using "sqlldr" statement and control file is our mapping control file.
5 Then it loaded data into database table sucessfully.
    Thanks.

  • OLE object Migration from Access to Oracle through SQL developer

    Hello,
I used sql developer 3.1.07(oracle 11g) to perform data migration from MS ACESS.
the MS access data has a column with data type as "OLE object" ---there
saved a lot of pdf files .
Then I performed "copy to oracle" from MS access connection, the OLE data
changed to BLOB from oracle database, and data seems to be copied to
database as binary . However none of the data in the column can be opened. I
download the blob data to a file from sql developer and tried to open
using Adobe 8.1 with no success.
How can I fix this issue? or I should say, how can I migrate MS access OLE data to oracle?
