ERROR - ORA-28000: the account is locked

I've successfully installed Oracle 10g standard edition in my PC...And when i tried to log in into isql plus environment with user name scott and password tiger it flashes ORA-2800 error and shows that the account is locked...pls tell me what to do to unlock that account and so that i can work in ISqlplus environment....

there is a space after /
sqlplus / as sysdba will work since 9i before you it should sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
look on the spaces.
I will also suggest to alter user <username> identified by <password> account unlock;
The reason is why ? Id like default passwords on systems.

We are getting ORA-28000: the account is locked while login.We unlocked the user and we tried to change the password as well but no luck.Can anyone please suggest on this..

Cause: The user has entered wrong password consequently for maximum number of times specified by the user's profile parameter FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS, or the database administrator has locked the account.
Action: Wait for PASSWORD_LOCK_TIME or contact the database administrator
To unlock an user manually:
ALTER USER username ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
to change his password:
alter user username identified by new_password;

Now if I chnage my java code a little bit I am getting this error.

Connection : false
Connection is not established.
Please can someone explain what is wrong here?

Hi everyone,
I am migrating from a SQL Server 2000 DB to Oracle 10g. I followed the migration tutorial and got all the way till the data migration process. The DB data capture scripts capture the data from the SQL Server successfully but i encounter the following error while i run the oracle_ctl.bat file on the Oracle side:

I checked the account and its unlocked and the user name/password combination is the correct one. All the log files have the same error messages. The user has all the required privileges.
Any ideas why this might be happening ?

Hello,
there may be several causes for this:
1) account in grace period, it can login to sqlplus but could not logn with sqlldr
2) kind of user being specified (sys as sysdba for example)
Could you please paste first lines of modified batch file and
output from select user and status in dba_users ?
Try anyway to run the unlock command
ALTER USER username ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

First all i would like to say that i'm really new in the oracle world..
In our infraestructure(OHS/OAS/ODB) we have periodically lock of the account used to integrate the most important datas in the databases, after put a trigger in the database we can only get source ip and process user who locked, is posible to obtain more information about the lock like process name pid, etc..?
Where can i get detailed information about pool connections from the OAS servers?
After analyse our last lock, i see that first logon deny come from an OAS server and nexts from the database with local user oracle.. any idea?

This can happen on the first launch of the application on a reel weblogic server.
This code will solve your problem. As SYSDBA :

hi, all I've tried to connect to db as sys more then 10 times and now I am banned^).
But I tried this to know how much time it will take:

What should I do? Now I am working as SYS with sysdba privileges.

I cheked this query i got here output as - LIMIT = 180
how i will change LIMIT to 'UNLIMITED' IN Oracle 9i database for user sapsr3
Because when i executed below ALTER query for sapsr3 user for oracle 9i database
ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME UNLIMITED;
It's gives error as "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges"

After upgrading from 11201 to 11203 ON AIX GI/RDBMS on standby but have not upgraded the primary db yet.I had set dg_broker_start=false and disable configuration before i started the upgrade .
once the GI for oracle restart was upgraded i upgraded the rdbms binaries and brought up the standby on mount ,while trying to enable configuration its throwing the below error.I had already started the broker process.

I removed the configuration and removed the broker files from RAC primary(mvmxp2) and single instance standby(mvmxs2) and re-created back.i tried it many times but getting error "ORA-16532" .I needed to have this standby backup before i start upgrading the primary.
SQL> alter system set dg_broker_start=true scope=both;

I have got the following error, when I am trying to run Pre-Payments. The error is coming for employees who are having Payment Method as "Cash".....
Error ORA-20001: The payment cannot be fully paid with the monetary units available.
ORA-06512: at "APPS.HR_UTILITY", line 937
ORA-06512: at "APPS.HR_PRE_PAY", line 1454
ORA-06512: at "APPS.HR_PRE_PAY", line 1944
I am not sure why that error is coming.
Can anyone tell me what needs to be done for rectifying that error.....

Error occurred for the accounting cockpit

Hi.
When I tried to change the tab to "accounting" , there is error message display as the next.
"Error occurred in the accounting- see the accounting cockpit (cproject)"
By the T-code "COCPCPR", I found the internal order with the error meeages.
"No the settlement rule exists for object number OR0000600000"
Would you please give me some input for how to fix or some guideline about the linkage between cproject and internal orders.

As per your error message, the Internal order has been created, however a settlement rule has not been assigned to the IO. I'd recommend you to check the settings of the model order (if you are using any). Also, take help from the CO consultant of your team to assign a settlement rule to this Internal Order.

My requirement is to get the current time stamp in Epoch time microsec format.
I am trying to execute the following query
select (CAST(((current_timestamp - TO_DATE('01/01/1970 00:00:00', 'MM-DD-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'))*24*60*60*1000000) AS varchar(32)) ) as "dt" from dual ;
i am receiving the following error

but if i tried to do

is working fine but i am getting the wrong epochtime as sysdate does not have the timezone information.
please help me how to make the first query work so that i can get the current_timestamp change it to gmt and convert it to Epoch time.
please let me know if there is any other way to get the Epochtime.
