Error Parsing Style - SpyMenuBarHorizontal.CSS

When I use the SpyMenuBarHorizontal.CSS and then check for browser compatibility, I get an Error parsing styles and the line it points out is this one:
filter:alpha(opacity:0.1);
It apparently is a hack for IE and is applied to the
ul.MenuBarHorizontal iframe
It says it concerns IE 6.0
It seems a little strange that Dreamweaver would write the code for the SpyMenuBarHorizontal.CSS without ever running it through its own browser capatibilty checker. Obviously I am missing something. Regardless...
Is this something to be concerned about? And if so, what's my next step?

The Dreamweaver team knew exactly what it was doing when it created the style sheet. Hack, although undesirable, are sometimes a necessary fact of life.

No, not at all.

I'm attempting to use an external css. My app is finding the
style sheet okay, but then I get this error: "error parsing style
sheet"
Here s the simple style sheet:
Panel {
shadowDirection: right;
borderThicknessLeft: 0;
borderThicknessRight: 0;
borderThicknessTop: 0;
Here's how I call it:
<mx:Style source="bin/assets/LifePrepStyle.css"/>
Thanks for your help!

• Error parsing styles in DW cs4

Hi all,
I'm building a web site and used someone's code to integrate a javascript toolbar. It says in the instructions provided with the toolbar to paste some style code into my css style sheet which I did. It works fine but when I do a browser compatability check dreamweaver complains about this line:
*>*>html:lang(en),#Menu1>li{left:0;}
and says: Error parsing styles
Affects: Internet Explorer 6.0
Anyone understand this?
- Omelas

I'm also receiving the error message
. I'm in the process of tweaking my site and yes, I have tried
to transfer to the website using IExplorer. The
data does not transfer correctly. Positioning and color wrong.

• Error parsing styles

i am getting and "error parsing styles" I am using Dreamweaver CS4.
any ideas
background-image:url(images/4047922449_0aa9248f2e_o%20(2).jpg):
background-repeat:repeat:
background-image:url(images/4047922449_0aa9248f2e_o%20(2).jpg):

background-image: url(images/background.jpg):
background-image: url(images/background.jpg);
background-image: url(images/background.jpg);
in browser compatibility i get the error in the first line

background-image:url(images/4047922449_0aa9248f2e_o%20(2).jpg);
background-repeat:repeat;
background-color:#FFF;
background-image: url(images/background.jpg);
In your code, your styles are improperly terminated with a colon rather than a semi-colon.
And why are you using multiple, redundant styles - you only need a single background image declaration!
Finally, it's not a good idea to use spaces or punctuation in your filenames.

• FF5 error parsing CSS font-face with url inline base64 data

Firefox 5 refuses to parse CSS @font-face with url inline base64 data.
I use the declaration:
<style type="text/css">
@font-face {
font-family: 'MyFont';
src: url(data:font/truetype;charset=utf-8;base64,[base64data]);
</style>
then used this way:
<div style="font-family:'MyFont'; font-size:12.0pt">Test text</div>
But Firefox is not using the font and in the error console, there is always the message:
''Error parsing the "src" value. Skipped to next declaration.''
(more or less, I actually have this message in Czech)
Tried with different mime types (font/ttf,font/otf,font/opentype,application/x-font-ttf etc.), with or without charset specification, with or without quoting the font family name, with different specifications:
<style type="text/css">
@font-face {
font-family: 'MyFont';
src: url(data:font/truetype;charset=utf-8;base64,[base64data]) format(truetype);
</style>
(tried also with opentype format, etc.)
<style type="text/css">
@font-face {
font-family: 'MyFont';
src: url('myfont-webfont.eot?');
src: local('☺'), url(data:font/truetype;charset=utf-8;base64,[base64data]);
</style>
If I provide the font path:
<style type="text/css">
@font-face {
font-family: 'MyFont';
src: url('Arial.ttf');
</style>
(the font actually is Arial, for testing), it works (but I need to embed the font in the HTML for specific reason, so having the font externally is not the option).

Finally I got it work! Thanks, cor-el, you pointed me the right way to solve this problem.
There was problem with the encoding too (there was part of the font missing at the end, because of the bug in the program - I forgot to flush the buffered output stream), after then I was able to download the same copy of the TTF. - I didn't know about the possibility to put the entire url data to the location bar and try to download it, thanks cor-el.
But it still didn't solve the problem ... the problem was, that the base64 stream was divided to multiple lines, like
data:font/truetype;charset=utf-8;base64,
AAEAAAAYAQAABACARFNJRwMaCRYAC8m8AAAXfEdERUaJ+Y1JAAr/JAAAAsJHUE9T
e1arnwALAegAAKwaR1NVQt5CYFEAC64EAAAbmEpTVEZtKmkGAAvJnAAAAB5MVFNI
RExjrAAAN8wAAA1dT1MvMhAyXXMAAAIIAAAAYFBDTFT9ez5DAAr+7AAAADZWRE1Y
After I removed the line breaks, it works now! (the line is quite long then, because the base64 string is about 1MB, but it works)
Strange that I do the same for images (jpeg, png) and there is no problem with base64 string divided to multiple lines.
But anyway, I'm fine with that.

• Declaration CSS Error parsing

I have this JavaFX CSS code:
bpi.setStyle("-fx-background-color: linear-gradient(#f2f2f2, #d4d4d4);"
+ "       -fx-shadow-highlight-color,"
+ "       -fx-outer-border,"
+ "       -fx-inner-border,"
+ "       -fx-body-color;"
+ "  -fx-background-insets: 0 0 -1 0, 0, 1, 2;"
+ "  -fx-background-radius: 3px, 3px, 2px, 1px;");
I get this error:
WARNING: com.sun.javafx.css.parser.CSSParser declaration CSS Error parsing in-line style '-fx-background-color: linear-gradient(to bottom, #f2f2f2, #d4d4d4);

Can you tell me where I'm wrong?

This isn't valid CSS syntax. A css declaration looks like
property: value;
and the String you pass to setStyle(...) should be zero or more declarations. Comma-delimited a bunch of property names ("-fx-shadow-highlight-color, -fx-outer-border, -fx-innerborder, ...") isn't valid (and it's not entirely clear to me what you're trying to do there anyway).
See CSS Syntax for a nice overview of CSS syntax in a web context, Cascading Style Sheets for the official specification, and JavaFX CSS Reference Guide for the JavaFX-specific CSS reference.

• Error parsing feed

I am trying to publish a feed and I keep getting error parsing feed: Invalid XML the element type "img" must be terminated by the matching end -tag "". But, I can't find that in the source below. I am not too familiar with HTML, but I am able to get in and edit the file via WordPress. I tried to find the line and add the end tag, but it only created another error parsing feed, so I must not have been editing the correct line in the code. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love to get this podcast listed, as it is my first and I am excited to see what kind of response we will get.

Firstly, please always publish the URL of a feed, not its contents.
But in any case, this is not a feed: it's an HTML web page and as such won't be accepted by iTunes.
There is a link to what is presumably the feed at http://podcast.goluv.com/?feed=rss2 - this does appear to be a valid feed and is what you should submit to iTunes.

• Error parsing envelope: (1, 1) Start of root element expected.

Hello BI Publisher:
The issue has been resolved. I found the cause the problem. The following line in my WSDL was preventing BI Publisher from reading the WSDL, which will return the "Error parsing envelope" message:
<xsd:attribute name="dateTimeTagFormat" fixed="xsd" use="required"/>
Once I removed the above line, BI Publisher was able to read the WSDL without any issues, and run the report.
Benjamin
Hello BI Publisher:
I am trying to define a new dataset of type "Web Service", with a Complex Type configuration using WS-Security 2004. I get the following error when I try to "View" it:
**"javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Error parsing envelope: (1, 1) Start of root element expected."**
This happens even if my Application Server (where the service is located) is not running, so I suspect that the error happens before the Publisher server tries to send the SOAP envevelop to the service server.
Publisher Version: Release 10.1.3.4
Complex Type: True
Username: User1
Password: ******
Time Out: 60
WSDL URL: http://localhost:4100/spl/XAIApp/xaiserver/ZZ_BIP_XAI_ZF?WSDL

Hello BI Publisher:
The issue has been resolved. I found the cause the problem. The following line in my WSDL was preventing BI Publisher from reading the WSDL, which will return the "Error parsing envelope" message:
<xsd:attribute name="dateTimeTagFormat" fixed="xsd" use="required"/>
Once I removed the above line, BI Publisher was able to read the WSDL without any issues, and run the report.

• Need some help with DNG and error parsing the files

Ok, so I found out that I can't open NEF files with CS2 from my Nikon D3100 - unless I upgrade to CS6, or use the DNG converter. I did download the DNG converter that came with the Camera RAW 3.7 (for CS2) in one of Adobe's links, but when I try to convert the NEF files, the DNG converter says "There is an error parsing the file". If it helps, I have Windows 7. Is there a different version of the DNG converter I should be using? Thanks!

A simple Google search will find it. For some reason it isn't on the Adobe website. If you upgrade to CS6 you'll find much improvement in your raw conversions.

• Error parsing recording file

Hi,
I am trying to open JRockit recorded xml file with JRA tool. Getting message ' Error parsing recording file'.
Thanks
ranga

For older versions of JRockit, you had to use exactly the same version of JRockit when you created the recording as when you opened it.
With more recent versions (R26.0 and later iirc) it is sufficient if the JRA reader version is >= the version of JRockit producing the recording. Or in other words, make sure you are running the latest version of JRockit on your developer workstation.

• Error parsing PLV file

I get an error message attempting to use the 'Plan Visualizer'. I posted a question on this subject already and got the feedback from one of SAP's own HANA gurus that it probably is due to a bug ( Error parsing PLV file ).
Since I have not seen anybody else raising the same issue and there are others (my assumption) using the same set-up as I am (HANA SP8 on BW740 SP8) I suppose that it is very possible that it is not a real bug (since IF it indeed is a bug, others must have had the same problem).
Is there anyway to get a confirmation if this is a bug (requiring a fix by e.g. OSS) or a problem specific to my installation/set-up/configuration that I might be able to fix (myself or with help).
As you can imagine I am keen on solving this since it is quite a handicap to not be able to analyze the performance in the system.
Thanks.

• Error parsing XML: {err}FORG0005: expected exactly one item, got 0 items

Hi ,
Good Morning to all
in osb replace action am using xquery transformation resource.
source code of xquery is :
====================================================================================
(:: pragma bea:global-element-parameter parameter="$addition1" element="ns0:Addition" location="../wsdl/NewWSDLFile.wsdl" ::)

how to resolve this problem...
Thanks & Regards
venky

The reason for the error is the xquery is not able to find the values in the input... Check the input and namespaces...
Try...
<ns1:value1>{ data($addition1/ns0:value1) }</ns1:value1>
<ns1:value2>{ data($addition1/ns0:value2) }</ns1:value2>Cheers,

• Character Styles in CSS Properties Panel are not correct

I am using Adobe Illustator CC.
I am trying to export all of the charter styles as CSS. However the CSS panel is not generating the correct style.
Right now, in the Character Styles Panel and CSS Properties Panel I have 3 styles (Default, h1, h2)
This is how they are defined in the Character Styles Panel:
1. [Normal Character Style]:Helvectic Neue LT Std, 55 Roman, 16px
2. h1: Helvectic Neue LT Std, 25 Ultra Light, 35px
3. h2: Helvectic Neue LT Std, 45 Light, 18px
HOWEVER
When I go to the CSS Properties panel the code is not showing the Font Style:
This is how they are defined in the CSS Properties Panel:
1. [Normal Character Style]:
.NormalCharacterStyle
font-family : Helvetica Neue LT Std;
font-size : 16px;
color : #19131F;
color : rgb(25, 19, 31);
2. h1:
.h1
font-family : Helvetica Neue LT Std;
font-size : 35px;
letter-spacing : 0.53px;
color : #FFFFFF;
color : rgb(255, 255, 255);
Missing:  25 Ultra Light
3. h2:
.h2
font-family : Helvetica Neue LT Std;
font-size : 18px;
text-transform : uppercase;
color : #FCFCFC;
color : rgb(252, 252, 252);
Missing:  45 Light
Am I not doing somethign correctly? Is it a problem with my font or with Illustrator?
Also, in case it makes a difference, I only have the default paragraph style defined. It's style is; Helvectic Neue LT Std, 55 Roman
Thanks!

CSS cannot render typographical multiple weight fonts simply because that's just not how it works. All CSS does is reference a physical font file and its properties and while it's possible to use the font-weight and font-style attributes to make standard fonts lighter or bolder it does not compare to anything you would do with the font in a real design environment. That and of course you still need to define fallback/ substitution options - the Helvetica Neue you are referencing is exclusively available on Apple systems only and even if what you are trying worked off the bat, it would be useless on alternate devices that have no access to the font.
