Error pop up from website
Has this happened to anyone & if so how'd you fix it? My ipad won't let me close out of a website from a legitimate local business that never actually pulled up; instead it shows a pop up box with the website name and a "3" in it that flashes when you attempt to close out of it & then returns. Reboot/clearing cache doesn't help.
Have you terminated the Safari browser completely?
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Then clear the cache again and reboot again.

Certificate error pops up from Google search results page
Hi,
I wanted to find out more info about a certain company, so I typed the name on Google. When I clicked on Search (not I'm feeling lucky!) the search results appeared, but I immediately got a pop-up saying the certificate for the website of the company in question was not valid:
"Secure Connection Failed
www.mvfaccount.com:443 uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.

This could be a problem with the server's configuration or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.

But the thing is: I hadn't even clicked on that search result! The warning appeared while the search results page was loading.
I find that unsettling because it makes me wonder: does Firefox visit the websites before I visit them?
And before you ask: no, I'm not a customer of that company (Maple Valley Financial) nor did I ever visit them before.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
Any difference? If that helps, it could be that you selected to block that element in one of your add-ons. -
Having PDF Appear in pop-up from Website
Currently we display PDFs on a Website as text and image icon links. When a user clicks on either the PDF icon or the text link, a new browswer window appears where the PDF displayed from our server.
We would like to change the way they are displayed by allowing users to:
a. Preview them in a pop-up / lightbox window that appears on the same page without a browswer refresh
b. Download the document by the user clicking on the PDF icon.

Calendar schedule blank. All appts disappeared from 3g iphone calendar synced to yahoo. After Yahoo corrected error message on their website and I re-synced my iphone, calendar reappears but will not allow edit from iphone. I can't find settings within Yahoo or within my iphone to alter editing options.
How can I get access to edit and delete the Yahoo calendar from my iphone? I never schedule anything from the Yahoo webpage. All my appointments and reminders are scheduled from the iphone.
iOS 4.2.1 (8C148a)My Yahoo email account worked just fine on my iPhone 4S for the last 2 months. Then this morning I started receiving the apple.imap.mail,yahoo error. I tried all of the steps above in solving the yahoo email issue including numerous hard re-sets and deletions of my yahoo account settings without any success. So I gave up trying to use the default Yahoo setup option. I added my Yahoo account back as an "other" type email account and then had the option to choose to set it up as a "POP" account instead of an IMAP type. I then just used the server settings recommended from Yahoo Help for a Yahoo Plus Email POP (or just google yahoo plus email pop settings). This works and I am back in business.
I'm not sure if this will work for yahoo mail classic accounts.
Frustrating that this issue seems to have been going on for quite awhile and Apple still as not made any acknowledgement of this issue or proposed a fix for those of us that can not resolve the issue with a reset. -
I'm unable to open up Lightroom 5, I get this message in a pop up box: "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from it's preview cache and needs to quit" Underneath that is "Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem the next time when it launches." It hasn't, what should I do? Thanks Shawn (Irish Se7en) .
Can you try to rename (not delete!) the folder named "YOUR_CATALOG_NAME Previews.lrdata" and restart Lightroom?

Every time I open lightroom I get a pop up message saying "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" and it closes. Ive already tried reinstalling, nothing seems to work. Help please!
Open the folder containing your catalog. In that folder you will find another folder with the extension .lrdata, and you need to delete that folder. After you do that, Lightroom should start normally and will create a new preview cache.

If that exports ok then export the other half of the book.
Whatever half it fails on - keep dividing the book in half to find the culprit page or pages.
For example if your book is 128 pages long:
1. Export pages 1 - 63
2. If these Fail to Export then
3. try exporting1-32
4. If these Fail to Export
5. then try exporting1-16
If it doesn't fail (step 2)
Then export pages 64-128
and 64-90 etc.
until you find the pages causing the issues. -

When I go to open lightroom a message pops up and says "lightroom encountered an error when reading from it's preview cache and needs to quit" I have already restarted my computer, that didn't do anything. I then uninstalled and then reinstalled and still getting the same response.
Open the folder containing your Lightroom catalog. Locate a folder with the extension .lrdata and delete that folder. Do not delete anything else. Then restart Lightroom. It will start building a new previews folder.

Image format error on my wordpress website from Photoshop CC file?
Why would only one particular image have a format error on my wordpress website ? the link is [ removed by admin ]. I'm using Photoshop CC and every other image I created has no problem, but one will now work nomatter what I try.
This driving me crazy. The error is during uploading, but only happens with one particular file. Every other file that I created and edited the same way uploads with no problem.We don't generally like to click on strange links here. What is the file format of the problem file? Try duplicating the layer to another document, and saving that. This often bypasses problematic files. Just right click, and choose duplicate layer. Use the drop down and select New. Job done.

OK. If both of you are Windows 7. Make sure you go to Windows update (START button, type in Windows Update). Check for updates and update whatever that are available. (especially Microsoft .NET Framework 4 )
After that see if you still get this error message.
The last resort would be to unistall and reinstall the whole thing.
Follow the steps below:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

my itunes won't work so i tried reinstalling and when it starts an error pops up that says:

oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you! -

HiteshHitesh, the javascript Api you are using for opening Modal window, is specially for oa framework, as framework uses the same method to open a LOV.While in JTT there is no such available API, for that you have to use normal
window. open.... (in javascript)
that you use in any web tech like jsp etc, and attach it to button or link click.

I have had the same problem for WEEKS and I cannot access any sites that use Flash. Flash has been installed on this computer since I bought it in 2012. I have allowed auto updates but for weeks the updates never get past Step 2 - is this because I do NOT want the Google Tool bar? I use NO tool bars as there is only 6 inches of vertical screen space. Is this because I uncheck wanting Chrome as a default browser? It is already installed, I just don't use it. I came to this site and ran the check is it installed and the system says it is either not installed or not enabled. Version 14 just downloaded about 30 minutes ago - but did not progress to Step 3 although a pop up screen came up with a finish button, which I clicked. WHAT is the problem and how do I fix it? If this were just a compatibility bug between IE11 and Adobe they have had plenty of time to fix it.

LRCC Error: Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit.
I just upgraded from LR 5.7.1 to LRCC a couple of days ago. After working with a collection of images in Lightroom CC, this message popped up: "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit." What do I need to do to remedy this? Thanks!
Quit Lightroom
Then trash the preview cache. It’s in the main catalog folder.
Delete the folder with the ending Previews.lrdata
The default location for the Lightroom folder is normally Pictures/My Pictures if you did a standard installation.
Re-launch Lightroom after deleting the Previews folder.
N.B. do not touch files ending .lrcat
