Error running weblogic.ejbc with Toplink 10G

Hi.
I'm making some tests in order to move to Weblogic 8.1 and Toplink 10g in the near future, but I'm having some problems with my tests:
I have built a simple entity bean based on the AccountBean used in the singlebean example from Oracle and I'm seeing this error:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Exception [EJB - 10036]: Error during code generation: [Exception [TOPLINK-14016] (TopLink (WLS CMP) - 10g (10.0.3) Developer Preview (Build 030902.1548)): oracle.toplink.ejb.DeploymentException

This is the part of the XML that I think causes the problem:
<opm:query name="findMessageByMessageKey" xsi:type="toplink:read-object-query">
<opm:arguments>
<opm:argument name="1">
<opm:type>java.lang.Integer</opm:type>
</opm:argument>
<opm:argument name="2">
<opm:type>java.lang.Integer</opm:type>
</opm:argument>
</opm:arguments>
<toplink:bind-all-parameters>false</toplink:bind-all-parameters>
<toplink:cache-statement>false</toplink:cache-statement>
<toplink:call xsi:type="toplink:ejbql-call">
<toplink:ejbql>SELECT OBJECT(menssage) FROM MessageBean message WHERE menssage.codMessage = ?1 AND mensaje.codIdiom = ?2</toplink:ejbql>
</toplink:call>
<toplink:reference-class>test.data.MessgeBean</toplink:reference-class>
<toplink:cache-usage>conform</toplink:cache-usage>
</opm:query>
Of course I don't see any problem with it.
After that I tried to run the examples but I'm seing the same error.
I must say that I'm not using the ANT scripts but doing it "by hand" building classes and making the naked jar for the bean in order to run ejbc on it, I'm pretty confident I am not missing anything.
I would like to know where the "ejbql-call" definition is as I have tried to find it with a grep in all the Toplink structure tree with no success. It is not clear to me how the xsd processor would find it's definition with just the: xmlns:toplink="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/xsds/toplink" instruction present in the header of my Message.xml file (modified based on the Account.xml of the examples).
I'm using Sun's JDK 1.4.2 and my $CLASSPATH is:
/opt/oracle/toplink10g/toplink/jlib/toplink.jar:/opt/oracle/toplink10g/lib/xmlparserv2.jar:/opt/oracle/toplink10g/jdbc/lib/classes12.zip:/opt/bea/wlserver8.1sp1/weblogic8.1/server/lib/weblogic.jar
Any idea?
Thanks in advance.
Ignacio.

Hi.
Thanks I tried it and I don't get no more that message. Instead I get this stack trace:

What I don't understand is: if examples include that toplink:ejbql-call it should be declared into the xsd isn't it? It will be included in the future (final) release then?
Thanks again.
Ignacio.

    If you can have a look at a cmp example in the samples that ship with the server. My guess is that the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file is missing the <persistence-use> element which for 810 would look like:
    <persistence>
    <persistence-use>
    <type-identifier>WebLogic_CMP_RDBMS</type-identifier>
    <type-version>7.0</type-version>
    <type-storage>META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml</type-storage>
    </persistence-use>
    </persistence>
    I seem to recall that the elements might be slightly different in structure for the wls700 version of the DTD, so please check that (I cannot, I'm at home and don't have everything here).
    Give that a try and see if it doesn't solve your compilation failure.
    Also, the compilation should not be throwing a null pointer exception in a case like that, I consider that to be a bug.

  • Error running PL/SQL with too many parameters

    Developer 10g (9.0.5.1 Build 1605) seems to have a memory limitation when running a PL/SQL procedure. The dialog box that is created to allow running and/or debugging of PL/SQL procedures defaults the parameter sizes to 200 bytes. At a certain point the number of parameters causes an oracle error. When I remove the 20th IN parameter the procedure works.
    Is there a way to do any of the following:
    1) Increase memory used so that more parameters can be used
    2) Change the default of 200 to a smaller value
    3) Bind the size of the IN parameters (in the procedure definition, not each time you run the procedure)

    Vijay,
    It turns out the problem concerns the size of the text buffer that JDeveloper generates (the code we display in the dialog). We inadvertantly limited the size of the code to 2000 characters. So the limitation isn't on the number of parameters, but the amount of code generated for each parameter.
    We have fixed the problem; however, this fix will be in the next release of JDeveloper (the production release of 10.1.3) due later this year.

    Please can somebody tell me how I can get the Weblogic Server 5.1.0 (Sp3)

    No matter what I try, the server always tells me it is using the Sun classic

    If you are using WinNT and start it from the startMenu or as a service, be sure
    to have the proper PATH-values set with wlconfig.

  • Error running a report with the rwclient utility

    I am running the following command:
    rwclient.sh server=rep_vese3valso9 report=/oracle9ias/appl/rec/bin/rep/CAJR30020.rdf userid=uspan/uspan@gio NU_SEC=727586 paramform=no destype=file batch=yes desformat=wide220 desname=/oracle9ias/appl/rec/lisrep/CAJR30020_727586.lis
    and I am getting the following error:
    REP-0177: Error while running in remote server
    Invalid value for parameter 'DESNAME'.
    A friend told me that I have to modify some files of the report server in order to allow this type ( desformat=wide220 ) in the sentence.
    Do you know what are those files or how to solve this problem ?
    Have you had any problem like that ?
    Thanks
    Joel Pérez

    What's desformat=wide220? Never, ever seen that before!
    As you use destyp=file, I believe you should change desformat to desformat=delimiteddata and add a delimiter, for instance delimiter=tab
    rwclient.sh server=rep_vese3valso9 report=/oracle9ias/appl/rec/bin/rep/CAJR30020.rdf userid=uspan/uspan@gio NU_SEC=727586 paramform=no destype=file batch=yes desformat=delimiteddata delimiter=tab desname=/oracle9ias/appl/rec/lisrep/CAJR30020_727586.lisYou should also define REPORTS_PATH, so that you could skip the path in reports, i.e. report=CAJR30020.rdf instead of report=/oracle9ias/appl/rec/bin/rep/CAJR30020.rdf
    Also, you might have gotten faster (and better) respons if you had posted this in the Reports forum, instead of here in the Application Server forum.

  • Weblogic.ejbc wants weblogic.home sysproperty in ant - why

    I found that I had to add the following 'sysproperty' line to an ant target which
    runs weblogic.ejbc:
    <target name="ejbjar" depends="jar">
    <mkdir dir="${java.class.dir}/${package.dir}/tmp"/>
    <java classname="weblogic.ejbc" fork="true" failonerror="true">
    <sysproperty key="weblogic.home" value="c:/bea70/weblogic700/server"/>
    <classpath>
    <path refid="classpathWL"/>
    </classpath>
    <arg line="${java.class.dir}/${archive}.jar ${java.class.dir}/ejb-${archive}.jar"/>
    </java>
    </target>
    If the line is not there I get an error:
    [java] ERROR: Error from ejbc: error in finding weblogic.Home
    If the line is there and points to an invalid weblogic.home directory the error is:
    [java] ERROR: Error from ejbc: Installation file c:\temp\lib\persistence\persistence.install
    does not exist. Could not initialize EJB container managed persistence.
    However the file contains only one line:
    WebLogic_CMP_RDBMS.xml.
    Question: is there a way to specify this value directly to weblogic.ejbc without
    the look-up to the file? In my case I would like to do a build on a machine where
    weblogic is not installed (but of course weblogic.jar is available). It is trivial
    to add the file to the FS somewhere but why bother?

    here is my Ant target looks like...
    <property name="classpath" value="${lib.ext.dir}/j2ee12.jar;${lib.ext.dir}/weblogic.jar;${lib.ext.dir}/log4j-1.2.9.jar;${lib.ext.dir}/struts.jar;${dest.dir}/${ant.project.name}.jar"/>
    <target name="testjar">
    <javac srcdir="${src.dir}" destdir="${ejbc.dir}" classpath="${classpath}"/>
    <ejbjar srcdir="${dest.dir}" descriptordir="${desc.dir}" basejarname="test" classpath="${classpath}">
    <weblogic destdir="${lib.dir}" classpath="${classpath}" oldCMP="false"/>
    <include name="**/ejb-jar.xml" />
    <exclude name="**/weblogic*.xml" />
    <dtd publicid="-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" location="${lib.dir}/dtd/ejb20-jar.dtd"/>
    <dtd publicid="-//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic 6.0.0 EJB//EN" location="${lib.dir}/dtd/weblogic-ejb-jar.dtd"/>
    </ejbjar>
    </target>
    I a not sure where to specify <sysproperty....>
    Please revert back if u know the answer.

  • How to start Workbench (Toplink 10g)

    I am getting "Could not find the main class. Program will exit!" when I execute workbench.cmd downloaded with Toplink 10g yesterday. Please help.
    Thanks,
    Lynn

    Hello Bala,
    Are you getting "Could not find the main class. Program will exit!"? If so, this message from Javaw could be the same as
    "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/toplink/workbench/ui/WorkbenchSession"
    when you use java instead. If you are using the workbench.cmd to start it, be sure to check the setenv.cmd file and verify that the ORACLE_HOME is set properly to the TopLink installation. If it is or fixing it still gives this error, check the workbench.cmd file itself to see that the -cp entries are appropriate and do include the toplinkmw and toplink jar files.
    If you are still haveing problems, change the javaw to java to get better messages, and you may need to file a support case to help go over your classpath.
    Best Regards,
    Chris

  • Auto deploy, weblogic.ejbc, -iiop automatically?

    Hi;
    I am using WLS 6.1sp2 and I don't like to run weblogic.ejbc manually. I
    let the server do it when I deploy when EAR file. Is there a way to make
    the server specify the "-iiop" option when the server automatically runs
    ejbc?
    Paul Rowe

    I guess that's what 'ExtraRmicOptions' property in the ServerConfig is for:
    Returns the extra options passed to rmic during server-side generation.
    in the console it is in the Server -> ... -> compilers tab.
    (or it can be set per-EJB: Return the extra options passed to rmic during
    server-side generation. Note: the default for this attribute must be null.
    If no ExtraRmicOptions are specified on the EJBComponent, the default will
    be pulled from Server.ExtraRmicOptions).

  • Error running forms 10g with OC4J

    Hi everyone,
    I installed Oracle DB 10g and Developer Suite 10g (did not install Ap. Server) at the same machine (different homes), everything seemed to be OK, I use sqlplus with no problems, then I did this:
    1) Created a table with just one field
    2) Created a test form with Forms 10g using wizard with just that table and that field (I connect to oracle with no problems on forms builder)
    3) Started OC4J Instance
    4) When I run the form, it opens Internet explorer then shows Oracle application server forms service, but with this message ORA-12560 TNS: Protocol Adapter error, I click OK and ask me for a user and password, but the same error!!
    IS there any configuration that I have to do on OC4J?? Why I can connect to oracle from sqlplus, enterprise manager and so, but it fails running forms, specifically when open OC4J???
    Thanks in advance

    Did you save the form before running it, in the context of the builder? there is a known bug in this area.

    u got why u getting the error i ma getting similar error its running fine in 8.1 but in web9.1 it is giving errors in some jsp pages may be due to versions or name spacing ie we write in top of the page DTD schema am not sure but i think , there is no jars to add on as such web 9.1 is upgraded one and it supports all files some where there will be conflicts between versions example JDK 1.5and 1.4 enum is a keyword in 9.1 but in normal in 8.1 if u get the solution for this error please mail me to [email protected]

  • Problem getting XA Datasources to work with Toplink inside Weblogic

    Hello,
    I am using POJOs inside weblogic 7.1, and I am having some difficulties. Of picked up a jdbc driver called JSQLConnect and it sets up fine from the Weblogic console. This is the only 3rd party XA driver that I have successfully got working inside weblogic.
    I've set up the Weblogic datasource in toplink per the documentation/examples I found. I've included a stack trace of where things blow up. From your source code, it looks like the AbstractSynchronizationListener thinks that the unit of work is not active. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Mike

    Hi Michael,
    I will have to set things up again to try it. I've been in the middle of doing other development and haven't gotten back to the XA Driver attempts again. Can you send me an email where I can fire a note to you directly once I try this again? I will probably need to send you code, etc. Mine is [email protected]
    As for your questions, let me address them below:
    How are you using XA (e.g. are you talking to two different databases)? Are you using TopLink any differently (e.g. using SessionBroker)? Is your transaction being propagated to multiple servers? What exactly has changed, or have you simply started using a different driver/data source? (Sorry for all the questions, just want to try to hone in on what components we are looking at).
    BTW, do transactions ever get started by the client and span multiple server requests?
    1) Yep, I am reading from one database, and writing to the other. So its not a two phase commit right now, but we will have one in the future.
    2) I'm not using your session broker. We have a framework, where we can get a client session from a named server session. This works pretty well for us. Right now, we are using the same framework to access two databases. I'm just not setting external tx control, session synchornization,etc
    3) I can use the third party jdbc driver in a non-XA transaction. So it doesn't seem to be a property of the JDBC driver alone. It seems to be when I attempt to set things up in XA mode.
    4) Transactions are controlled at the Session Bean level. They only last for one bean request.
    If you have any cycles, I was wondering if you could try getting the XA transaction to work in your environment? I was using Net-Direct's driver, along with Weblogic 7.1 sp1, and Toplink 9.0.3.3 (Build 430). An example of how you got things to work may point out what is different about my useage....

  • Deployment error with Toplink

    I have been developing a plain java application using TopLink and it runs fine when I run it from JDev. However, now I am trying to integrate it into an existing sessionless EJB (the files are in different JDev projects) by calling the class from the session EJB. Everything compiles fine and deploys to the App server just fine, but when I run it I get the following error stack. Does anyone know how to fix this or have any pointers as to what I may be doing wrong?

  • Error while parsing JSP with WebLogic 5.1/SP9/JDK 1.2.2

    Hello everybody,
              I get the error given below when calling a JSP in a WebLogic
              application which seems to work fine in all other (non-JSP) parts:
              java.lang.NullPointerException:
                   at weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspLexer.addSetPropertyValue(JspLexer.java:1432)

              Code)
              I know that this error has been reported more than once in these
              discussion groups, and all people who solved it say
              - that it occurs only wen running WebLogic 5.1 with JDK 1.3 instead of
              1.2.2
              - that it may also be caused by bad jsp code
              But in my case, it has to be another reason, because
              - I am using jdk 1.2.2
              - the same JSP file is running withour errors on WebLogic 6
              I wonder if it could have something to do with the operating system:
              the parsing error is produced on a Windows version of WL 5.1, while my
              WL 6 which doesn't cause errors is running with Linux.
              Many thanks in advance for any help,
              Eckhard Beisswenger

    Once again me!
              After a long time, I stumbled by accident across the answer that solves the problem I described above. It is explained at
              http://support.bea.com/application;JSESSIONID_WLCS_DEFAULT=2R2lzQfEBxFRMX2z0AxeU1Un3N1522I9fCIUI7GfjnjsiSYkPscz
              The clue is that weblogic complains about corresponding get and set methods, when the type of the set methods parameter is different from the return type of the corresponding get method. Unfortunately, the weblogic lexer class gives only a NullPointerException without any hint.
