Error saving data in task flow

Hello all,
I am at my wits end with this issue! Thanks in advance.
I have four tables required in a registration process each dependent on the preceding
Individual -(1 to 1)-> Client -(1 to *)-> ClientService -(1 to *)-> ServiceReview
During the registration at least one of each record must be created. Code was written to ensure the tables are persisted in the correct order and that the primary keys are passed to their child tables.
The issue is that all tables are perssisted correctly when using the Model Tester and when I use a single fragment with multiple tabs. However, when the exact process is attempted in a train an error is thrown that starts out with "oracle.jbo.TxnValException: JBO-27023: Failed to validate all rows in a transaction." and ends with "oracle.jbo.NoObjException: JBO-25003: Object ClientCareService of type ApplicationModule is not found."
I have been stuck at this for the past two weeks and would really appreciate some assitance. The DML statement displayed below is the insert statement for which it complains there is a validation error. However, I have gone over all the data elements and confirmed all is well. Also as I mentioned, this works when using the Model tester.
I am using: Jdeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.0.0 Build JDEVADF_11.1.2.0.0_GENERIC_110531.1615.6017

  • Af:table filter date format : task-flow navigation issue

    hi
    When trying to use the date format configured on the Entity Object, with Format Type as Simple Date and Format as "dd-MM-yyyy", there seems to be a problem when using task-flows.
    The approach involves an explicitly configured attributeValues binding to use in f:validator and af:convertDateTime components in the af:inputDate in the filter facet, as discussed in the forum thread "af:table filter date format"
    at af:table filter date format
    I used JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 to create the example application
    in http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/TableFilterDateFormatIssueApp-v0.03.zip
    - The page filterEmp.jspx shows expected behaviour, the filter uses the configured date format and there is no problem when navigating to another page and back.
    see the screencast at http://screencast.com/t/CtQ9rsVFH3k
    - The page menuBTFPage.jspx allows for some navigation after using the filter resulting in the filter showing a date in the wrong format, using scenario (sc1)
    -- (sc1-a) : run menuBTFPage.jspx
    -- (sc1-b) : on "menu-btf : menu", click the "do go-filter-emp-btf" link
    -- (sc1-c) : on "filter-emp-btf : filterEmpFragment", filter on HireDate using "10-03-2005"
    -- (sc1-d) : click the "do goReturnSuccess" button
    -- (sc1-e) : back on "menu-btf : menu", click the "do go-filter-emp-btf" link again
    -- (sc1-f) : back on "filter-emp-btf : filterEmpFragment", see the HireDate filter value in the wrong format as "2005-03-10"
    -- (sc1-g) : click the "do goReturnSuccess" button again, which results in an error "The date is not in the correct format."
    see the screencast at http://www.screencast.com/t/ORHauBd3oQ
    questions:
    - (q1) Can the behaviour in scenario (sc1) be reproduced?
    - (q2) Why is the filter value in the wrong date format in step (sc1-f)?
    - (q3) What can be done to have the filter value consistently in the configured date format, so that errors as in step (sc1-g) can be avoided?
    many thanks

    hi
    First a short summary of relevant aspects of service request 3-2190488381:
    - development has reviewed bug 10193260
    - development identified some code where a pattern was not applied and started fixing the problem
    - out of the blue, development asked "Will clearing out the filter field completely when moving out of ataskflow be an acceptable behavior ?"
    - I pointed out some concerns (even in a phone call with development), but development did not see any alternative not "perceived to be very risky because of the current design", so the question whether the clearing-all-filter-fields approach would be acceptable became superfluous.
    - following this, bug 10193260 suddenly became an enhancement request (for reasons I still don't understand)
    - a workaround was suggested (for behaviour not perceived as a bug), "Clearing the search fields during taskflow exit in the backing bean (in the app)." for which I also received a modified version of my example application TableFilterDateFormatIssueApp-v0.04.zip with an implementation of the suggested workaround
    As an exercise to try an understand the suggested workaround (an because my example application seemed to have been modified using the currently yet-to-be-released JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0) I re-implemented it in the example application
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/TableFilterDateFormatIssueApp-v0.05.zip
    It has a filter-emp-workaround-btf task-flow with a method-call activity on a managed-bean method, responsible for clearing the search fields, resulting in behaviour where the error "The date is not in the correct format." does not occur,
    as can be seen in the screencast at http://screencast.com/t/Nq7TkkRQ
      public void clearFilterFields()
        BindingContainer vBindingContainer =
          BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
        DCBindingContainer vDCBindingContainer = (DCBindingContainer)vBindingContainer;
        DCDataControl vDCDataControl = vDCBindingContainer.getDataControl();
        ApplicationModule vApplicationModule = vDCDataControl.getApplicationModule();
        ViewObject vViewObject = vApplicationModule.findViewObject("EmployeesVOVI");
        ViewCriteriaManager vViewCriteriaManager = vViewObject.getViewCriteriaManager();
        vViewCriteriaManager.clearViewCriterias();
        vViewObject.clearCache();
      }Because the managed-bean method requires access to the ADF Model binding layer to get to the View Object instance used for the filtered table, the method-call activity has a page element configured in DataBindings.cpx referring to the same usageId as the page element for the page fragment showing the filtered table. So that both the method-call and view activity depend on one and the same Binding Container (e.i. PageDef file).
    The method-call activity, responsible for clearing the search fields, would need to be called before each task-flow-return activity.
    As there can be multiple view activities with multiple filtered tables in a bounded task-flow, would that result in multiple method-call activities responsible for clearing search fields (all to be called before each task-flow-return activity)?
    It looks like a more general/generic approach is desirable for the suggested workaround to be feasible.
    - (q5) Does the suggested workaround imply (as bug 10193260 is not a bug) that all bounded task-flows with filtered tables should implement it to avoid errors about formatting?
    thanks

  • Error when launching bounded task flows in dynamic tabs from UI Shell templ

    Hello,

    Hi Pramod,
    Have you tried setting the Transaction attributes of your task-flow? Open up your task flow definition then go to Overview Tab. Try changing the appropriate attributes like setting the transaction as "Always Begin New Transaction" and/or unchecking the "Share data controls with calling task- flow". Try to mix settings and find the one that suit your needs.

  • 11gR2 error: call a bounded task flow with method call as default activity

    hi all,
    We migrated several applications to the JDev 11g R2.
    There are 2 applications that contain a bounded task flow where we define Method Call as default activity.
    We need invoke specific actions before opening the page.
    They run well with 11gR1.
    But with *11G R2*, I can’t call directly this task flow with the following URL:
    http://127.0.0.1:7101/MyAPP/faces/adf.task-flow?adf.tfId=my-flow-def&adf.tfDoc=/WEB-INF/flows/my-flow-def.xml

    (original message: <SecurityUtils><invokeURLAllowed> ADFc : impossible d'appeler directement le flux de tâches '/WEB-INF/flows/ my-flow-def.xml #my-flow-def' à l'aide de l'URL.)
    Any idea?
    Thanks for you help

    Hi,
    Have a look at the task flow properties, in PatchSet1, a new feature "invokeURLAllowed" is added that prevents bounded task flows from being URL accessible for security reasons. You can swithc this feature on and off
    Frank
    Ps.: I though that bounded task flows that you call from a URL generally needed to have a viewActivity as the default activity

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi DeveloperMax,
    According to your description, the error occurs when you execute the package with Agent job on clustered MSSQL 2012 Enterprise Nodes.
    As per my understanding, I think this issue can be caused by you use SQL Server Agent to schedule a SQL Server Integration Services package in a 64-bit environment. And the SSIS package is referencing some 32-Bit DLL or 32-Bit drivers which are available
    only in 32-bit versions, so the job failed.
    To fix this issue, we should use the 32-bit version of the DTExec.exe utility to schedule the 64-bit SQL Server Agent to run a package. To run a package in 32-bit mode from a 64-bit version of SQL Server Agent, we can go to the Job Step dialog box, then
    select “32 bit runtime” in the Advanced tab.
    Besides, we should make sure that SQL Server Integration Services is installed on the failing environment.
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Destination [891]]

    I am getting this error message not sure how to resolve this error
    Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Destination [891]]: The column "Product Desc" cannot be processed because more than one code page (65001 and 1252) are specified for it.
    Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Destination [891]]: The column "Brand Desc" cannot be processed because more than one code page (65001 and 1252) are specified for it.
    Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Destination [891]]: The column "Seg Desc" cannot be processed because more than one code page (65001 and 1252) are specified for it.
    Smash126

    Hi Smash126,
    Based on my research, I can reproduce the issue in my environment. The issue is caused by the CodePage of Input Columns "Product Desc", "Brand Desc" and "Seg Desc" are 65001, while the corresponding Destination Columns are 1252.
    The Input Columns use more than one code page than the Destination Columns, so the error occurs.
    To fix this issue, we can use a Derived Column Transformation to add three derived columns to convert the code page of the three columns. For more details, please see:
    Drag a Derived Column Transformation before the OLE DB Destination and connect to it.
    Add three Derived Columns with the same format like below:
    Derived Column Name:  Derived Column 1
    Derived Column: <add as new column>
    Expression: (DT_STR,50,1252)[Product Desc]
    Double-click the OLE DB Destination, then select the “Derived Column 1” column from Input Column to make it map to the corresponding Destination Column which the original column “Product Desc” maps.
    Use the same method for other two columns.

  • Adding Saved Searches task flow to a Page Template

    I am trying to add the Spaces "Saved Searches" task flow to my custom page template. I have tried a few different approaches and none seem to be working.
    First, I tried simply dragging and dropping the task flow from JDeveloper's Resource Palette into my template. JDeveloper created added the following to my template source code:
    +<af:region value="#{bindings.allsavedsearches1.regionModel}" id="pt_r1"/>+
    After uploading the changes to Spaces, there seemed to be no change to the rendered template.
    Second, I tried to simply add the task flow to a page in my test space via composer. However, as soon as I click the "Add" button next to the Saved Searches task flow, the page goes blank (white screen of death) and the following message shows up in the spaces error logs:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: com.sun.el.parser.ParseException: Encountered "\'" at line 1, column 65.
    Finally, I looked at how the out of the box templates implement the saved searches functionality. It appears that the saved searches use a custom folder in the Default Navigation Model. I looked at the source in the Default Navigation Model and found the following node:
    +<customFolder factoryClass="oracle.webcenter.search.view.rc.SearchServiceContextFactory" id="savedSearchesFolder" visible="true">+
    +<attributes resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle">+
    +<attribute attributeId="Description" isKey="true" resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle" value="NAV_APPLICATIONS_CUST_FOLDER_SEARCHES.DESCRIPTION"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="IconURI" value="/adf/webcenter/foldersavedsearches_qualifier.png"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="Title" isKey="true" resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle" value="NAV_APPLICATIONS_CUST_FOLDER_SEARCHES.TITLE"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="WEBCENTER_SERVICE_ID" value="oracle.webcenter.search"/>+
    +</attributes>+
    +</customFolder>+
    I copied the entire node and put it in my navigation model. Upon rendering the template, I can see the new node in the navigation but when I click on it, nothing happens.
    Can someone please tell me if I am on the right track with any of these three approaches? Or where to look to diagnose the issues I am running into?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    UPDATE: I updated the "activation" property in the page def for the allsavedsearches task flow to be "deferred". Now I am getting an ADF popup menu with two menu items: "My Searches" and "Other Members" but clicking on the items does not trigger anything...
    Any thoughts? What additional information would be helpful for analyzing this issue?

    3. the third is a view activity to display edited values before commiting or canceling. This view show an empty page with two buttons with fixed outcome (cancel, save).
    4. and 5. are two task flow return that commit (save) or rollback (cancel). It is no parameter in return (at this stage).
    A very simple task-flow.
    My diagram show a warning and two errors.
    The warning is on the first activity. It tell me into the source that "EL Token "bindings" is unknown.
    Here is the code.
        <method-call id="initializeFlexItem">
          <method>#{bindings.Create.execute}</method>
          <outcome>
            <fixed-outcome>initialized</fixed-outcome>
          </outcome>
        </method-call>The errors are mentionned for the return task flow. Errors says that "Element commit not expected", "Element rollback not expected". May be the document doesn't correspond to its xmlschema.
    I have an another warning the template-referernce tag that mention an document-id child is required and not present. The task-flow doesn't refer to any template. So the tag has not to be there, or attribute has not to be required.
    Running the task-flow is not succesfull. I got a JBO-25301 error saying that the application module is not a root application module but has no parent. It seem not to be related to task-flow inconsistencies and errors but I don't know and would like my task-flow is fully correct to be sure.
    Any idea, explanation, recommandation, workaround is welcome.

    I have seem that the property inspector didn't reflect that the return activity was a commit or rollback activity. I added this property and the red x on the return activity disappeared from the diagram and no more errors was mentioned in source editor for these tags.
    The code generated was this one:
        <task-flow-return id="commit">
          <outcome>
            <name>commit</name>
            <commit/>
          </outcome>
        </task-flow-return>
        <task-flow-return id="rollback">
          <outcome>
            <name>rollback</name>
            <rollback/>
          </outcome>
        </task-flow-return>

    Hi,

    I would recommend reading this before posting here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/adf-methodology/PzncJBPMFDw/7mxNblt_ppYJ
    You give far to little detail about the scenario.
    Is it an OOTB taskflow that you extended. If so, which one and what parameter did you add + how did you do it.
    How did you deploy to spaces
    There are a lot of steps in that process that can go wrong so don't expect us to come up with an answer based upon this basic information.

  • Error while saving date value in Java dictionary

    Hello Everybody,
    I got following error while saving date value in one of the fields of the Java table.
    Internal error occured in submit request: Error in method updateRequestContact : The object of type java.sql.Date with the value '2005-12-04 08:00:00.0' assigned to host variable 9 is not normalized. It must not contain time components in the time zone running the virtual machine.
    I can't find why it is taking time value in the date object.
    This value is coming from the RFC as a date value, and I am saving this value in Java dictionary table.
    Same code for this was working fine earlier. But, now suddenly it gives error like this.
    Even if I provide date on the screen from webdynpro application, this date value can't save in the Java dictionary and gives same error.
    What should be the problem behind this?
    Regards,
    Bhavik

    Hi Satyajit,
    I am getting date value from the screen of the webdynpro application from date picker control and passing this value in Java dictionary.
    More Information:
    I have dat value in the Date object: <b>target_date</b>
    But Now I have made new Date object as following:
    Date target_Date1 = new Date(target_date.getYear(),target_date.getMonth(),target_date.getDate());
    Then I am passing this object to Java dictionary. Still it gives same error.
    Then I have changed code as following:
              int l_year;
              int l_month;
              int l_days;
              l_year = target_Date.getYear();
              l_month = target_Date.getMonth();
              l_days = target_Date.getDate();
         Date target_Date1 = new Date(l_year,l_month,l_days);
    Now it works for me.
    But I guess this is not the perment solution. It looks very strange. I have used so many date objects at various palces. So, this solution is not the final for me.
    I want to findout the main cause of it.
    One more thing: This code was working for a mornth or two. But, now suddenly it is giving this error.
    Please help me if anybody knows.

    Bhavik

  • Error (ORA-01403) saveing data form a report with apex_item items

    Hi all,
    I've a problem saveing data that's inserted into a report which I created using apex_item items. Reproducing the exact issue on apex.oracle.com will take me a lot of time, and I don't know if I really can reproduce this matter... So I hope I can explain my problem clearly enough, here...
    The global story of the application is that its an application used for measureing objects. For these objects there are templates, with default properties. When measureing an object, the user must fill in those properties for the object. The report is build dynamicly, becouse each object has different properties and each property could be of an other kind (number, text, list, counter [=number field with add and substract buttons], and date). Depending on the type of the property, the report has to show an other item to fill.
    The query for constructing this report is like this:
    select defprop.proptyp_id,
    apex_item.hidden(41,defprop.id) defprop_id,
    defprop.nam,
    decode(proptyp.id,
                    1, apex_item.text(p_idx=>42,p_value=>''||

    where defprop.stdobjver_id = obj.stdobjver_id
    and defprop.proptyp_id = proptyp.id
    and obj.id = :P2200_ID_INVThis report works fine. Depending on the type of the property it shows a numberic field, text field, selectlist (with right values), counter field or date field.
    If the default property is set to a 'CONSTANT' value, the last known value is filled in.
    With a javascript I check the numberic field value and achieve the counterfield to add or substract values when 'plus' or 'minus' is clicked.
    This javascript is placed in the field 'Execute when Page Loads' in the page properties in APEX. Here is the code:
    /*Execute when page loads*/
    /*Allow only numbers */
    number_elem = $('input[name=f42].case5_num');
    number_elem.keypress(function(event) {
      if (event.which && (event.which < 46 || event.which > 57 || event.which == 47) && event.keyCode != 8) {
          event.preventDefault();
      if (event.which == 46 && $(this).val().indexOf('.') != -1) {
          event.preventDefault();
    //for mouse events, remove any non numeric characters
    number_elem.bind('mouseup mousedown mouseleave', function(event) {
       this.value = this.value.replace(/[^0-9]/g, '');
    /* Subtract Button */
    $('a[name="sub_f42"]').click( function() {
      number_elem = $(this).siblings('input[name=f42].case5_num');
      currVal = number_elem.val();
    if ( isNaN( currVal) ){
       elemVal = 0;
    else {
       elemVal = Number(currVal);
    if (elemVal > 0)
         number_elem.val(elemVal-1);
    else
    { elemVal = 0; }
    /* Add Button */
    $('a[name="add_f02"]').click( function() {
      number_elem = $(this).siblings('input[name=f42].case5_num');
      currVal = number_elem.val();
    if ( isNaN( currVal) ){
       elemVal = 0;
    else {
       elemVal = Number(currVal);
    number_elem.val(elemVal+1);
    });Those two codes makes my report works fine. So far I'm happy. But now I want the data, which the user fills in the items, to be saved.
    So I created a process that should do this for me (it wil run after the user hits a button), here is the code:
    declare
         v_objmet_id number := 0;
    begin
         select measurment_seq.nextval
         into v_objmet_id
         from dual;
         insert into measurment
         ( id
         , obj_id
         , dat
         values
         ( v_objmet_id
         , :P2200_ID_INV
         , :P2200_METDAT_INV
         /*Loop trough the values (g_f42 holds the value of the property)*/
         for i in 1 .. apex_application.g_f42.count loop
              /*g_f41 holds the key to the default property*/
              if apex_application.g_f41(i) is not null and
                   apex_application.g_f41(i) > 0 then
                   insert into measurment_prop
                   ( measrument_id
                   , defprop_id
                   , wrd)
                   values
                   ( v_objmet_id
                   , apex_application.g_f41(i)
                   , apex_application.g_f42(i)
              end if;
         end loop;
    end;After running this process, the application branches back to the page, clearing the cache and set some items I use for filtering an other report with their own values.
    Both the process and the branche have a 'when button pressed' condition, where the same button is filled in. The branche fires on submit: after processing.
    When I hit the button to save the data, I get an error: ORA-01403: no data found
    In the debug info I can find there is encountered an unhandeled exception in the process, but I don't know what's going wrong...
    I thought it could be something with the date field, I want to save, so I put it in a to_date() with the right format, but I still got the error...
    I've also checked if the query which fetches the nextval of the sequence is correct, and it is, no typeing error in the sequence name, or something.
    I'm using APEX 4.0.2
    Edited by: Mir on 28-jun-2011 10:25
    Changed some code of the javascript, it directed to the wrong item ID, now its correct

    My problem is solved. The error occured when application item g_f41 was accessed, so my application couldn't find the data, the user putted in there. I now pasted this part of the sql, to the other apex_item field, so it became one field and now it works correctly:
    select [...]
    apex_item.hidden(41,defprop.id) ||
    decode(proptyp.id,
                    1, apex_item.text(p_idx=>42,p_value=>''||
                        decode(defprop.srt, 'CONSTANT', (select WRD
                                                                            from    measurement_prop
                                                                            where    defprop_ID = defprop.id
                                                                            AND        measurement_id IN
                                                                                (SELECT ID
                                                                                FROM measurement
                                                                                WHERE OBJ_ID = obj.id
                                                                                AND DAT IN
                                                                                    (SELECT latest_date
                                                                                    from object_instance
                                                                                    WHERE ID = obj.id)))

  • How to commit data at the end of a bounded task flow

    Hi all,
    I am using JDev 11.1.1.0.2.
    I have this situation
    1) A page with a button that goes to a task-flow to insert data (property data-control-scope set to shared and property transaction set to requires-transaction as suggested in http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/fnimphius/cancelForm/cancelForm_wsp.html?_template=/ocom/print )
    2) At the end of this task-flow a I have a TaskFlowReturn (property End Transaction set to commit)
    When I click the button associated to this TaskFlowReturn, I return to the first page (described in 1) ), but the data I have just inserted are only submitted, but not committed.
    What's the problem?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Andrea

    Hi,
    if you set the return activity to commit the transaction then this is done. I don't see why rollback should work but commit doesn't

  • Error while runtime customization for task flows in jdev drop6 build 11

    Hi,
    I am using jdev drop 6 build 11. I am trying to build a webcenter application in which I want to drag and drop task flows at runtime. I am able to add the ADF components at runtime. I am also able to expose the task flow at runtime on the UI after creating my own catalog. But if I try to add the task flow by dragging it, it gives an unhandled exception and it shows that no metadata found for metadata object for the task flow. And after this error I am not able to add the ADF components as well. It gives the same error. This is the error I get:
