  • Please help me! Error message : java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

    Hello, I am a new learner on Java ME. I have done a simple shooting game in Java ME. I am using multiple threads on that and when I run the program in Sun Java Wireless Toolkit, the error message "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError" appear. May I know what is the cause of this problem? Is it because of too many threads running at the same time or ..? Any suggested solution on this? Thanks.

    Hello,
    I try to assign all class object as null, but the problem still there. My game has 3 stages. For example, after the first stage, I would like to clear the memory buffer like the heap memory, then only load the second stage. Otherwise, the memory may not enough when the stages increased. So, is there any other way to clear the buffer for garbage collection?
    In my game, it has a menu. The menu has the option like "New Game", "Help", "Exit". Whenever the game is start, the menu will add-in another option - "Continue", which will allows user back to the game and continue it.
    Everytime when I select "New Game", the game will start running, and when I press for menu, the game will pause automatically and then show the menu list. In this case, the game is still in the memory, but in paused state. If I choose "New Game" from the menu, it means it will restart a new game.
    My problem is that when I restart a new game, the heap memory still keeping the previous game. How could I delete the previous game's memory, so that whenever the new game is selected, the heap memory that store previous game would be cleared and the memory buffer will always store the current game only?

  • Generation aborted with error null (java.lang.OutOfMemoryError)

    Hi
    I have model DC  and this DC is giving me error Generation aborted with error null (java.lang.OutOfMemoryError)
    I encounter the error as soon as I open project/DC in navigator.
    Error goes away as soon as I build my DC but reappears if I close and open my DC again.
    Any idea, how to deal with this?

    Hi,
    can you please switch on the PDE Error Log View (window -- show view -- other -- PDE) and after error reproduction provide the relevant error here? Check also the ".log" file in the ".metadata" folder of your NWDS workspace.
    Further, please tell the version of your NWDS (help -- about).
    Does this error occur only if you expand the model node? Are other colleagues facing this issue, or reproducible on your end?
    Did you alter the file in your eclipse folder (on 700 this is vm.parameters, as of 7.1 it is SapNetweaverDeveloperStudio.ini) ?
    Thank you!

    Hi JLK,
    Now as you can see that you are getting "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space" during the activation on an application it means that you are application needs more space in the non-heap part of the JVM which is PermGen to create the Classes, Class Structures, Methods and Reflection Objects of this applications hence you are getting this issue.
    Now how to solve this issue you try the following check list which would help you resolve this issue and overcome same type of issue in future
    1). Make Sure that the PermGen Area is not set to a very less value.
    2). Usually if an Application has Many JSP Pages in that case every JSP will be converted to a *.class file before JSP Request Process. So a large number of JSPs causes generation of a Large number of *.class files all these classes gets loaded in the PermGen area.
    3). While allocating the -XX:MaxPermSize make sure that you follow a rough Formula… which works in most of the Application Servers.
    MaxPermSize = (Xmx/3) —- Very Special Cases (One Third of maximum Heap Size)
    MaxPermSize = (Xmx/4) —- Recommended (One Fourth Of maximum Heap Size
    To get more information on this I would suggest you to have look at the below link which would surely help you in this case

    Hello,
    This is fixed now,
    1. cleared the classpath in the environment variables(my computer) ,
    2. uninstalled jdev and weblogic,
    3. deleted the oracle/middleware folder
    4. searched under registry entries as middleware and deleted all of them,
    5. rebooted and reinstalled, worked...
    Thanks for your inputs...............

  • BPEL 10.1.3.x deployment error: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap spac

    I am using IBPELDomainHandle.deploySuitcase() API to deploy a bpel process. Each time, I got ServerException with the following error message: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap spac
    What configurations should I perform to the BPEL server in order to get rid of the outofmemeory error?
    BTW: I was able to deploy the same bpel process by uploading the jar file to $OH/bpel/domains/default/deploy directory.
    Thanks,

    Hi Qian,
    Check the -Xmx JVM setting in the OC4J_BPEL configuration. Raise the amount of MB to allow JVM to use more memory.

    apart from the above what I would normally is, while zipping the file I would exclude heavy content file and upload the file.
    after uploading file, just go and paste excluded file in respective folder.

    Any possible pointers to the issue. Is it a issue with incompatible JDK 1.7 with weblogic 10.3.5.

    I just checked on the Oracle Support site. Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.5.0.0 is certified with Oracle JDK (1.6.0_24+). There are other JDKs listed but they're all in the Java 6 family, no Java 7.

  • BOE hangs, java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space,

    Good day,
    I have an issue when working in the CMC that everything hangs and the following errors appear:
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space
    and
    Exception in thread "Business Objects - Sessions Clean up" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space
    I have tried removing the tomcat service, rebooting and re-installing BOE120Tomcat service.
    After I restart Tomcat it works for about 5 mins and the same erros start appearing again.
    On startup, this is what appears in the log immediatley:

  • "java.lang.OutofMemoryError: PermGen space" mesasge in windows xp 64bit

    Hi !!!
    I'm using WindowsXp 64bit. As per Mr. HEWizard post SQL Developer on XP x64 Edition "failed to initialize..." I can able to launch Jdeveloper on windowx xp 64 bit. But when I'm trying to create a page, it is giving an error message: "java.lang.OutofMemoryError: PermGen space" in the launcher window and the application is getting hanged.

    Hi !!
    I installed Jdk from the following url : http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and changed the paths in ..\..\..\jdevstudiobase1111\jdev\binjdev.bat file. When launching the application it is giving error message that :

    Yes No
    Then clicked Yes, then the application launched and when creating the page it is giving the following error message :

  • SGD 4.31 -- java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

    I'm getting java.lang.OutOfMemoryError on a newly upgraded 4.31 installation of SGD.
    My question is this: How do I increase the absolute maximum JVM size available to Secure Global Desktop? That's what the error message tells me to do, but I haven't been able to find out how to do it. I've searched the documentation and the knowledge base, but I haven't had any luck.
    I'm thinking that it should be an easy fix, but I haven't found out how. Any ideas?
    Here is the complete error message:

    any more memory.
    You may wish to increase the absolute maximum JVM size available to Secure
    Global Desktop.

    there is no limit on how many apps you can give a user, but do note that for a given user each object consumes about 11k of heap, plus there is an overhead.
    so it looks something like
    W (objects) x 11k (object cost) + 300k (connection cost) + (X (apps per user) x 15k (app cost)) = Z
    or in your example
    (700 x 11k) + 300k + (1 x 15) ~= 8.2mb of Heap / +- 10% error = about 9mb.  So each user with 700 objects in webtop will consume about 9mb of heap.  Your default max size = 512mb
    $ tarantella config list | grep jvm
    a 32bit (which is what SGD uses) can only use 4gb (2^32) of heap, but you should not exceed 3gb per most Java experts. Once last rule is that you should not exceed 25% of RAM when configuring heap. So if you have 4gb of RAM, then your max JVM should be 768mb and then you divide 768 / 9mb and get about 80 users that this system can support with the size of the webtop you plan.
    hope this makes sense, if it does not, contact a Sun Sales/SE to get some assistance.

  • Serious system error while executing the query: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

    From ALSB, we are trying to insert records in a table, by calling the ALDSP webservice. It is working fine when the xml (ie., given as input to the ALDSP webservice) is small. But facing the following error when the input xml size is large.
    <ALDSP> <BEA-000000> <Product> <Serious system error while executing the query:
    {ld:ABC/Test}createTest:1
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
    We do not want to increase the heap size. Is there any other way we can solve this problem?

    In logical dataservice of ALDSP we have created a procedure called createTest, which is used to insert mulitple rows in the table. We have created a webservice for that logical DataService.
    Using the ALSB, we are calling the webservice -> createTest Operation and we are passing xml as input to that createTest function.
    Input xml:
    <ns1:createTest>
    <ns1:createTemps>
    <ns0:createTemp>
         <ns0:field1>1</ns0:field1>
              <ns0:field10>test1</ns0:field10>
    </ns0:createTemp>
    <ns0:createTemp>
         <ns0:field1>2</ns0:field1>
              <ns0:field10>test2</ns0:field10>
    </ns0:createTemp>
         </ns1:createTemps>
    </ns1:createTest>
    each ns0:createTemp represent a row that need to be inserted in the table.
    When the number of ns0:createTemp is less ( when the number of rows that need to be inserted is less) then no problem occurs, it is getting inserted properly. But when there are more number of ns0:createTemp then we are getting the following error
    <ALDSP> <BEA-000000> <Product> <Serious system error while executing the query:
    {ld:ABC/Test}createTest:1
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

  • Error getting while deploying the application (java.lang.OutOfMemoryError).

    Hi,
    I am trying to migrate an application from JBoss to SAP Netweaver WAS.
    I am getting an exception when i am trying to deploy the application from Netweaver developer studio as "<b>java.lang.OutOfMemoryError</b>". The portion of the stack is given below,

    I heard that by changing some configuration values, we can resolve the problem (like adjusting -Xms & - Xmx parameters as well as the Max threads). But i don't know in which script/ tool should i find these settings to change.
    Could you please share your knowledge in this regard,
    Best regards,

    Hi
    You can change the XMX and thread  parameter in the Visual Administrator.

    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError.
    Please provid your inputs on this.
    Your help wolud be appriciated.
    Thanks
    Renuka.

    Well, if you're getting an out of memory exception then your memory settings are too low. Odds are there's a period of activity where the memory usage spikes above what you've configured for the VM.
