Error trying to build kernel26zen-git

I get this message when i try to build kernel26zen-git.
Failed... Your source tree might be broken. Run 'make mrproper' in src/zen-sources to clean it up
However, I follow the instructions and run make mrproper in the zen-sources directory, re-run the kernel26zen package and still get the same error. Is there something I must do that I am not aware of to make it compile properly?  I had this kernel working once before. Thanks ahead of time.

I no i just used the standard downloaded the package in AUR via yaourt, and let it run. I dont think it switched to the master branch.

    Hello RBrown
I am really sorry for this inconvenience!  This is a known issue.
Can you please attempt the following for me:
When you are building an application, under Advanced please check the last box "Use LabVIEW 8.x file layout"
If that doesn't work, you may need to rebuild the LLB in a separate directory with new names, and use it as the build inclusion.

I already tried the "make mrproper", building it without any modifications to "config" and googleing for the problem.
    Anyone got a clue?
EDIT: Okay, I was searching with the wrong keywords. I searched for
include/linux/tracepoint.h:80:2: error: implicit declaration of function 'synchronize_sched'
    and found this thread.
    Going to try this out.
EDIT 2: What can I say? It worked.
EDIT 3: Another Thread with the solution
PS: What about this "RCU"? What does it do and why does the "classic RCU" not work?

Iv'e got lib32-jack already installed. And by reading the comments of the AUR link to the package ( lib32-portaudio ) they supposedly fixed the PKGBUILD too.

I know the problem is probably not in built-in.o but somewhere else.
Of course I ran `make mrproper` in the mentioned directory before I rebuilt over and over again, enabling and disabling several modules, like Mountainjew did in this topic. I even tried to download the complete source tree again, but to no avail.
Does anyone know if there's currently a problem with one of the kernel modules or with the ZEN sources in general?

Stupid me! I overlooked this error message:
    kernel/softirq.c: In function 'run_ksoftirqd':
kernel/softirq.c:719:4: error: implicit declaration of function 'rcu_note_context_switch'
Some searching resulted in a post in the Gentoo forums, saying that CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING is the culprit. I noticed that flag wasn't enabled at all, but two posts below it turned out that using Classic RCU can cause troubles. I switched to Tree RCU and my kernel was built successfully (though this still sounds like a bug to me).

I forgot how I got this issue resolved. Probably we re-started the portal and the NWDI J2EE Engine. But I am sure that we did not do much in fixing this.

  • [Solved] aclocal error when trying to build caja-dropbox

When trying to build caja-dropbox from https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/caja-dropbox/ I get the following error:

The 'aclocal' program is part of the GNU Automake package:

It also requires GNU Autoconf, GNU m4 and Perl in order to run:

I am not sure how to go about fixing this error. I was hoping that some here might be able to help or point me in the right direction.
    Thanks.
Edit: I have tried building in a clean chroot and I get the same error.

As I did not want to solve it dirty as Thorsten Reinbold did to build his package I downgraded automake from 1.15 to 1.14 temporarily and built the package with no errors. I then installed the package and all is working properly. I then reupgraded to version 1.15.

  • Error when trying to build to iOS

I am using Flash Buidler 4.7 on a Mac OS X 10.7 with latest java version 1.7 (64bits), I am trying to build some samples provided on this page:
    http://gaming.adobe.com/getstarted/
I can test on the AIR simulator, but when I try to build on iOS simulator or device, I get the following error:
Error occurred while packaging the application:
Error: This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM.
    Please install the desired version.
I don't really understand the error, does it means I need to remove the java version and install another one? And old one or a 32bit one? I'm not sure
I've googled but didn't find a proper answer, so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Found on the Console this:
    10/11/2012 22:19:29.803 [0x0-0x17b17b].org.eclipse.eclipse: !MESSAGE Rani.. enabling this logging again to verify(during testing)[/usr/bin/java, -d32, -Xms512m, -Xmx1024m, -jar, /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.348297/AIRSDK/lib/adt.jar, -package, -target, ipa-test-interpreter-simulator, -storetype, pkcs12, -keystore, /Flash Builder/Certificates.p12, -storepass, XXXXXX, WasteInvaders.ipa, WasteInvaders-app.xml, AppIcons, assets, com, DebugHostInfo.xml, OnkyIta.ttf, WasteInvaders.swf, -platformsdk, /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/S DKs/iPhoneSimulator6.0.sdk]
I guess if I could remove the -d32 it may work, but I can't find where to change this.

  • Once repository downloaded, and then I deleted .repo folder. Again trying for building the source. Then it is failing to Build the source with .repo error.

    Hi,
I have downloaded the repository source (1.4) for nexus-4. Trying to build the source after deleting .repo folder.
If I delete that folder it is not building at all.
please suggest me to handle this scenario. due to space issue I have removed the .repo folder.
    Thanks in advance.

Homebrew helps as well : [http://wilsonpage.co.uk/installing-firefoxos-nexus4/]
Current instructions for nexus 4 [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513228]
I am not entirely sure, however there is instructions for the nexua7 [https://wiki.mozilla.org/B2G/Nexus7]
Added later: [http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/december-29-firefoxos-nexus-4-1-1-1-4-t2388237] though as a fair warning, this is a very buggy build and I would not want you to brick your phone as it is an expensive phone.

Try replacing `sed -i 's/'-Werror'/''/g' Makefile` with `sed -i 's/-Werror/-Wno-error=implicit-function-declaration/g' Makefile` in the PKGBUILD. This won't fix the warning but the package should build.

Looks like some library is missing. I don't know if the dependencies on the PKGBUILD are right, so I ran ldd on my /usr/bin/awesome and the libraries it returns come from the following packages:
    cairo
    dbus-core
    e2fsprogs
    expat
    fontconfig
    freetype2
    glib2
    glibc
    imlib2
    libev
    libice
    libpng
    libsm
    libx11
    libxau
    libxcb
    libxdg-basedir
    libxdmcp
    libxext
    libxrender
    lua
    pango
    pcre
    pixman
    startup-notification
    xcb-util
    zlib
Do you have all of those installed? (There's also a linux-vdso.so.1 reported that I don't know where it is.)
I left a comment on the AUR page for awesome-git saying that recently (past few days), I've had to install newer versions of a bunch of packages (newer than are on the Arch repos, I had to build them myself...but using the official PKGBUILDs and upping the versions tended to suffice). But the build errors I was getting are different than yours. Mine was about a variable  LIBXCB_something_or_other_EVENT_something that seemed not to be in the library versions I was linking against.
