Hi
I am trying to drop user/tablespaces, but I got the following error
SQL> drop user SM92 cascade;
drop user SM92 cascade
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
Currently this user has not tables or view, the statement select * from all_tables where owner='SM92' return no row
ANyone knows why I can't drop this user? What should I check?
Thanks
Li

Hi, probably the user has dependency with other schemas, please review the Note:361576.1 into metalink site.
Good luck.

  • Error when dropping users

    I accidently created several users that have an apostrophe attatched to the end of the user name.
    The database versions are 10.2.0.2 and 10.2.0.3.0
    The way I initially created the users was in SQLPLUS like : create user "SCOTT'";
    Now, when I go to try to drop the user fro the database, I receive the following error:
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-01740: missing double quote in identifier
    ORA-06512: at line 7
    I have also tried to drop the users in Enterprise Manager Console and received the same error.
    Any ideas how else I can drop these users?
    Thanks!

    Thank you. I can reproduce the problem in 10.2.0.1.0 on Windows.
    A search indicates this is a known bug and I found this article that gives an explanation and shows a way around it.
    http://mikesmithers.wordpress.com/2010/02/17/dropping-quoted-users-%E2%80%93-why-sometimes-oracle-cant-bear-to-say-goodbye/
    This query
    SELECT owner, trigger_name, trigger_type
    FROM dba_triggers
    WHERE base_object_type LIKE 'DATABASE%'  shows three triggers owned by MDSYS and after the author disabled the triggers the user could be dropped.
    SDO_DROP_USER, SDO_DROP_USER_BEFORE, SDO_GEOR_DROP_USER
    Edited to add the commands needed - but you should read the post
    ALTER TRIGGER mdsys.sdo_drop_user disable;
    ALTER TRIGGER mdsys.sdo_drop_user_before disable;
    drop user "SCOTT'";

  • Error when editing Portal User Profiles

    Hi there,
    I got this error message when editing Portal User Profiles
    Error: The specified user does not exist. (WWC-41406).
    I can select users from OID, but can't edit them.
    Note: these users are imported from AD and placed in a different OU other than users container in OID.
    But, If I create a user in the same OU from Portal Administration page, then I can select and edit that user's Portal Profile.
    So what's the difference between imported users and the user created from Portal?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Geoff

  • Error when selecting a user

    Hi everyone:
    We have implemented SAP NetWeaver 7.0, and we defined "ABAP System" as Data Source.
    We've come across a strange error while selecting some particular users (clicking on user) in Netweaver under User Management -> Identity Management > Selecting a User (clicking on user)
    "java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.url.api.WDURLGenerator.isSecureURL(Ljava/lang/String;)Z"
    So far, this error has happened only when selecting a user that has the E-Mail field defined in the ABAP side. If we delete the E-Mail address from de ABAP account and then select the user in the Java Identity Management, the error disappears and the user account is perfectly shown.
    Any suggestions guys??
    Regards,
    Pablo Vaquero

    Hi Ravi,
    Thank for your reply.
    That indeed is the issue!... Since we have defined "ABAP System" as the Data Source, the E-Mail field can only be mantained on the ABAP side. But, as I've said on my previous post, when we fill this field in the ABAP side for any particular user and then want to see this change in user details on the UME side, when clicking on that particular user we get the error mentioned above.
    Regards,
    Pablo

  • How to delete an entry in a table when drop a user????

    I want to write a trigger that when someone drop a user, delete the related data in one table ..
    how to write this one ???

    Hi,
    You can create a DDL trigger. (a trigger that fire after a DROP command for example):
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_7004.htm#i2235611
    In this trigger you can look for a specific event (use the ora_sysevent, ora_dict_obj_owner, ora_dict_obj_name system variables if you only wnat to track the drop of users.
    you have a such example here:
    http://psoug.org/reference/ddl_trigger.html
    I suggest you to start with a trigger that log all drop command and then you issue different drop command and see how the trigger is logging the different events ..

    Hi
    Which SUS Verson are you using ? Are you using SUS on the same system, where EBP is installed ?
    You can create users and assign role to respective users in SUS for creating
    Bids in Bidding starting form SUS. But you must replicate users from SUS to EBP.
    Then only systems will identify each other while logging.

    Solved the problem by recreating the target schema; we first narrowed the problem down to this specific user, but could not find any deviations from other target users.
    Decided to recreate the target schema because we were running out of time. No real solution to the problem, but at least we can go on...

    This is a bug. There is no Patch avaialble for this yet. This error is seen where recyclebin is enabled. Possible workaround is to disable the recyclebin.
    This happens with the dictionary corruption due to inconsistency between obj$ and seg$.
    This is a correct answer but still i would suggest to contact Oracle support.

    Hi,
    I tested the following and got the expected results (doenst connect). I'm using 10.2.0.2 ODP, and got the same behavior pointing to 9206 db and 10.2.0.2 db.
    I did a quick check and dont see any obvious related bug fixes in ODP, but if you're not using 10.2.0.2 ODP, you might want to try that.
    Here's exactly what I tested.

    Hi,
    Can be a permissions issue.
    Try giving the ASPNET account full control on Temp folder :
        . Right-click the folder and select 'Properties'.
        . Go to the 'Security' tab and click the 'Add' button.
        . Select the 'ASPNET'. Click 'ADD'. Click 'OK'.
        . Check 'Full Control' from 'Permissions for 'ASPNET'.
    Sincerely,
    Nikhil Dharme
