Error when using "inlist operator" in the query filter of Webi 3.1

Hi,
We are currently in the process of migrating Deski to webi (BOXI 3.1).
The problem is, Deski is using the "inlist" operator which is working fine but after migrating to webi the inlist operator in the query filter is throwing the below error,
*Error Message :*
A database error occured. The database error text is: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis. (WIS 10901)

Yes I am seeing an additional paranthesis in Webi SQL query.
For example plz consider the product table below,
SELECT
Product.ID,
Product.Name
FROM Product
WHERE
Product.Name IN ( @Prompt('4) Name:','C','Product\Name-M',multi,free) )
As a work around in Custom SQL, If I remove the paranthesis the below query is running fine in webi
SELECT
Product.ID,
Product.Name
FROM Product
WHERE
Product.Name IN @Prompt('4) Name:','C','Product\Name-M',multi,free)
But I want a permanent solution.

I'm new to Oracle and this forums too. I have a problem when using about operator in contains query.

Problem with 0FIGL_VC1 when use constant selection in the query

Please kindly help me. I have this problem for 2 weeks already.
When I create a query from virtual cube 0FIGL_VC1 (balance sheets / p&l statements), if I use constant selection in any of key figure, my report could not display financial statment correctly.
My report layout
Columns : key figures (including 0FIGL_VC1_CK001)
Rows: 0GLACCEXT (financial statement item) << as hierarchy
Initially, the query is processed correctly.
However, based on the requirement from my customer, I really have to use "constant selection" for some of my columns. Whenever I do so, the query display incorrectly. (Some nodes of financial statement item just disappear. (it seem like all contra item will disappear.)
Please help!

If I dont use constant selection in the query, data are display correctly.
But If I use constant selection in the query, some financial statement item dont display any value
Example :
   Financial statement item(Display in hier)     Period1   Total Period1(Constant selection)
             A                                                       10            60
             B                                                       20            60
             C                                                       30            60
             D                                                       0              60
- Financial statement item "D" has some value.
- Financial statement item "D" is in the hierarchy,one gl account has been assigned to more than one group differentiated by debit/credit indicator.

Oracle giving Block corruption errors when using CDC for sending the data to SQL Server 2012

Error when using some objects in the free characteristics

Hi,
I have a query based on an infoset made of an ODS and an object.WHen i tried using sales office,in the free characteristics,the query was running fine.When i pulled sold_to into the free characteristics and executed the report i was getting an error asking to contact the System Adminstrator.We are on BI 7.I executed the same in RSRT and it was working fine.I thought it was problem with authorizations,but not.Because i pulled 0Material which is not authorization relevant and with this also,i had the same problem.Any thoughts?.Thank you.

Robohelp 9: Error when using search terms including the word "not"

We are moving from Robohelp 7 to Robohelp 9. We realize that Boolean operators such as NOT are supposed to be working now, but we do have times when we might find ourselves using search terms that include the word "not" on its own.
The problem that we are finding is that if we search for something like "office not installed", because that phrase is part of a specific error message we might be trying to locate, we are getting the error, "The words you typed is not a valid expression" [sic].
We have tried making modifications to the Stop Words and Always Ignore words and can't seem to find a solution. We do need to be able to search using the word "not" as a regular search term. Even as a Boolean operator (NOT), we are getting the same error. Searching for "office installed" will get us the result that we want, but we have a team of users who will definitely instinctually search using the word "not" since it's part of the error they are searching for.
Thoughts?

First, I don't believe the Always Ignore has anything to do with Searching. That particular list is used when you instruct RoboHelp to build an index using the Smart Index Wizard.
Actually, something like "Office Not Installed" is a perfect use of the Index. But I'm guessing here that your system doesn't include an index in favor of trawling through the pile of words in the project.
If you aren't using an index yet, I'd highly suggest you investigate it. In a properly indexed system your users will find what they are looking for infinitely faster and easier than they ever will by using Search.

JSP Compilation Error when using OC4J out of the box

Hello.
After installing Java jdk 1.5.0_05, setting ORACLE_HOME, setting JAVA_HOME, rebooting, and installing OC4J standalone straight out of the box, I have deployed a simple web project that consists of just one JSP. I receive the following error message:
NOTIFICATION J2EE JSP-0008 Unable to dispatch jsp Page: oracle.jsp.provider.JspCompilationException: Errors compiling: C:\LocalApps\OC4J\j2ee\home\application-deployments\oc4j_jsp\persistence\_pages\\_Test.java<pre></pre>
I have deployed a number of Flex2 applications without incident. What am I missing here? Another odd thing is that my organization has OAS running and it can render JSPs fine.

I had the very same Problem, and I spent a lot of time on it.
When installing Oc4j as a service using Javaservice opnesource, I had no problem, even using J.D.K 1.6:

Then I wanted to install it using "ServiceMill" or "Javaservice Wrapper", becuase it has a better control on the process and I had that awfull compilation error.
I guess it is because ServiceMills uses java.exe and javaservice the .dll to launch the oc4j, no idea.

Error when use stored procedure in Named Query and Custom SQL

This is a toplink development on Jdev 1013. A package with a function is created which returns a "ref cursor" in a oracle 9i database. I tried to access the function in jdev toplink descriptor editor either through custom sql (Readall) or a named query (procedureTest) and I got java.sql.SQLException: SQL string is not Query. Note: I am NOT talking about programatic storedprocedurecall object.
The client access code is following (where error was thrown):
results = (Collection) session.executeQuery("procedureTest", WuTest.class);

Getting Compilation error when used SET or MULTISET operator on nested tabl

I am getting Compilation error when used SET or MULTISET operator on nested tables inside a procedure.
This is working fine in other DB installations of 10g but does not work in another 10g DB.
it says "wrong number of parameter or datatype used in SET"

Getting an error when i am execution a BI query using ABAP.

I am getting an error when i am execution a BI query using ABAP. Its Giving me this Error "The Info Provider properties for GHRGPDM12 are not the same as the system default" and in the error analysis it saying as bellow.
Property Data Integrity has been set differently to the system default.
Current setting: 0 for GHRGPDM12
System default: u2019 7 u2018
As I am very new to BI and have very limited knowledge, so I am not able to understand this problem. Can any one help me to resolving this issue. Previously it as working fine, I am getting this error last 2 days.

UDESEncrypt Errors when using the JAVA engine (NW IDM 7.0)

Folks,
I'm seeing an error when I use the uDESEncrypt function with the Java Engine in NW IDM SP2 Patch 3.
The error I am getting is:
runFunctionsInString($FUNCTION.encrPWD()$$) got exception
org.mozilla.javascript.EvaluatorException: uDESEncrypt: Key should be exactly 24 bytes long.
The code calling it is:

1) setting key empty and it will look into %DSE_HOME%\KEY\key.ini
which should be C:\Program Files\SAP\IdM\Identity Center\Key\key.ini on default installation path.

Also when using DES you should ensure that in Identity Center underneath Options/General
you have encryption algorithm set to 3DES.
Normally if you intend to use this for password provisioning in IC you would also
on the identity store (for instance 'Enterprise people') underneath 'password policy' check
of for 'enable password provisioning.'
By doing so the MX_ENCRYPTED_PASSWORD with be set when operating through
workflow (3DES encryption version of the MX_PASSWORD) which allows you to obtain password
when provisioning to other target systems...

Handling query errors when using ADO connection in MSAccess

I'm working on enhancing a data pull from a terrabyte sized Oracle database for use within an MSAccess front end. The current plan is to append and update tables within Oracle using ODBC pass through queries or ADO connection objects, then copy the resulting much smaller data set to Access for further processing.
Oracle client: 11g
Access DB: 2010
Tnsnames.ora in place
Connection via ADO connection, or DAO/ODBC pass thru queries
connect string:
"ODBC;DSN=dbname;UID=username;PWD=password;DBQ=dbname;"
i have also tried:
"ODBC;driver={Oracle};DSN=dbname;UID=username;PWD=password;DBQ=dbname;"
there are two issues i'm facing:
1) comparing performance with the SQL developer, where for some runs, Access is significantly slower, other times its fine
2) trapping errors, where it appears that all i get is the query timeout error, rather than a more informative error, such as a key violation.
in the first instance, creating about 6000 rows in the Oracle table takes about a 2 seconds using the SQL developer, and sometimes about 6 minutes with either ADO or DAO methods of queriing, but then sometimes its nearly as quick (?). Is there any way to figure out how to make the performance equivalent or consistent? This is probably not the forum, but maybe someone could post a link to where people are doing this more often (my google searches are returning spotty results)
But in addition, it seems like if there is an error in the query, such as a key violation, the query will wait all the way until the timeout value in many cases before returning just the timeout error, which tells me nothing. I need to keep that value pretty high, as sometimes the client will pull a lot more than 6000 records. Its also inconsistent, sometimes i get the key violation in 5-6 minutes, other times its all the way to 10 minutes before the timeout error happens, rather than almost immediatly with SQLdeveloper. is there any way to return error messages more quickly?

Compilation error when used SET or MULTISET operator on nested tables

Dear All,
I am getting Compilation error when used SET or MULTISET operator on nested tables inside a procedure.
This is working fine in other DB installations of 10g but does not work in another 10g DB.
it says "wrong number of parameter or datatype used in SET"
Can any one suggest what went wrong here?

Since MULTISET and SET operators are the new additions in base 10g release for manipulation of nested tables data, I am surprised that same is working in similar 5 DBs installations with 10.2.0.1.0 version, but does not work in the sixth.
SET and MULTISET operators are used inside the PL/SQL procedure which is getting compiled in the above mentioned 5 DBs but not in sixth DB.

Error when using PPR in the OA page developed.

HI,
We are encountering an error when using PPR for the custom OA page being developed. I am using JDeveloper version 9.0.3.5(Build 1437) and Oracle Applications version 11.5.10.CU2. The scenario we are using PPR and the steps to reproduce the issue is mentioned below,
Scenario:
1) PPR is enabled for a custom OA page that is developed.
2) The PPR is being used to enable or disable a particular field based on the
selection of a value in a poplist in the same OA Page.
Error replication steps:
1) The user enters a value in the primary mandatory field which has to have
unique value.
2) The user selects a value from the poplist of a field which has PPR associated.
3) The user enters data in all other mandatory fields in the OA page except one
and tries to save the form and is shown a error message saying that all
mandatory fields are not entered(This is correct). Now the page gets
automatically refreshed and so the entered values are wiped off.
4) Now if the user again enters a value in the primary mandatory field (as in
step1) and if that value happens to be already existing value and then select
a value from the poplist which has PPR enabled then immediately the error
"Please enter a unique value" is entered, though we did not save the record.
The unique record validation would happen only at the time of saving the
record as per out business logic.
5) But if in Step 4 if i had entered a unique value again then the above said error
does not happen. There are few more similar kind of issues happening in the
same page because PPR is enabled.
Please note that this issue happens only when the page is deployed in a oracle
applications instance and not in JDeveloper.
Would this issue because of some cacheing problem? If Yes then how do we resolve it? Or would it be some other problem caused by our internal coding.
Any inputs for resolving this issue would be highly appreciated.

What works in Jdeveloper should work when deployed in iAS as well.
And PPR is an old feature given quite enough time to mature, so before we suspect OA we should investigate the code. What I do not understand is how the page refreshes in Step 3 and why does the user have to re-enter the fields just because he missed entering one mandatory field the last time.
Mandatory field validations are client validations set by making the fields 'Required'. You obviously have client validations turned off on your PPR, otherwise you would be stuck with a javascript popup on PPR. The only way you can get the "Please enter unique..." error on PPR is Server Validation. So where have you placed this validation? If it is not in the EO, is it in the AM? And are you unconditionally calling the AM validation method in your processFormRequest? The PPR will also go through processFormRequest so I hope the PPR event is in a different if-else block.
