Errors in TKPROF
Hi,
I have generated a trace file as per metalink note "453527.1 How To Trace a Concurrent Request And Generate TKPROF File".
Now when I run tkprof as per the metalink note, I am getting strange errors as follows:

I am using following command:
$tkprof <trace file name>.trc <output file>.out explain=apps/<password>
I am running this command from unix. What do you mean by "sourcing the database env file"?
I have read/write permission on the 'user_dump_dest' directory. But what do you mean by "oracle user have read/write permission"? Is it something different from unix permissions?
I am getting same issue for couple of trace files.
Hope you help me resolve this.

When people share Apple ID's and use iCloud, that means that they are sharing synced contacts, notes, etc. Since they are syncing, when someone edits or removes them, that syncs over to the server, and thereby to the other devices.
Apple ID's are meant for individual usage.
Since he deleted them, they are gone. Unless you have an iTunes Backup that you can restore from. -

i searched for the error and in oracle forum i found a solution .. http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=844287&tstart=0
but after giving the table option it is giving the same error
tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela table=old_schema.plan_table explain= /
it again gave the same error.
In both two cases it gives elapsed time results,library cache missing etc but before giving this it throws ORA-00604 error as stated above
then i again correct the tkprof statement ..
tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela table=new_schema.plan_table explain= /
say this schema name here i used is dummy schema name.
My question is did this error came as we had not sufficient previlages in the old_schema but that previleges we have in new_schema?
My databse version is 9.2.0.4.0

And are there any trace files generated during this error?
And as You can see from error description, probably You will have to contact with Oracle support in order to solve this case:

Help to read TKPROF file in correct way
Hi,
I need help to understand what is going wrong.
I have one query executed with different bind variables values.
Case 1: Execution time is about 7.5 hours when :v6=:v3=:v4 (these are date bind variables values)
Case 2: Execution time is about 2 minuteswhen :v6 differs from :v3 and :v4, but :v3=:v4 (these are date bind variables values)

The queries use different plans and the second plan seems to be the better choice - since the first query does not return any rows. The plans also tell us where the time is spent - and there are some nested loops with extreme execution counts and a lot of expansive index access operations (especially the skip scan on P_HOLDINGS), but I would prefer to use a a plan with rowsource statistics to find the errors in the optimizers cardinality estimations.

Payables Open Interface Pgm fails without any error(Very urgent)
All,
I'm into an integration project where in I'm pushing Invoice doc from a third party appln to Oracle apps (11.5.10.2) thru payables open interface. The integration is smooth till today. We pushed a record today, but the concurrent neither picks up the data but failed with 'completed error' status. When I delete the same record from the interface, the concurrent runs fine. So we are sure there is some issue with the data in my record. Since concurrent is failed without any reason, from where I can get the log to know what is the actual problem with that record? The database log file can be usually found under $ORACLE_HOME/admin/<SID>_<hostname>/bdump directory (or from SQL*Plus, issue "show parameter background_dump_dest").

kanishEXPLAIN PLAN needs a specific public table installed in the database to store the plan output.
Look in the documentation [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16638/ex_plan.htm#PFGRF009]here, particularly section 12.2 on the PLAN_TABLE output table.
Looks like either your schema has lost privileges on the plan_table or else the plan_table does not exist. That is a bit unusual so you might cooperate with your DBA in finding out why this is so.
Your DBA might need to execute the catplan.sql script described in the above link. -

I also ran utlrp.sql to recompile invalid objects and still no luck.

Page error causes server to crash
These are the symptoms: we start loading a page and Oracle launches a process that hogs as much CPU as it can, slowing everything on the server to a near standstill. If we don't catch it within about 5 minutes, we cannot even log on to kill the process. Within a short space of time the OS is paging like crazy, and within about 10 minutes the 4GB of physical memory and 8GB of swap is all used up. The page never loads, and a few minutes after starting to load the page we get a 404 error. What happens after the available memory falls to zero is unpredictable but never good.

First, I have to hold my hands up and say that it's always caused by an error that we have made, but often these are relatively trivial errors on the page that APEX will either gloss over or handle correctly 99 times out of a hundred (and certainly nothing obvious like an infinite loop). These kinds of problems also occur very rarely (thankfully), but what gets me is why the result is quite so catastrophic. I should also say that we're talking about a development environment containing very little data - the example we tested is a page with 3 report regions each based on fewer than 100 rows of data, comprising around 20 numeric columns, some dates, flags and audit information.
What I'm keen to understand is whether this is a consequence of Oracle misconfiguration, or if there is anything else (other than never making any coding errors) that we can do to stop this from happening.
These are examples of the kinds of errors that have that lead to the above symptoms (although not necessarily to the output listed below):
1. Deleting a page item that a PL/SQL function within a page region references, without removing that reference. Mostly APEX will ignore such errors, treating the item value as null, but the difference seems to be where the item had a value in session state, and we did nothing to clear it after deleting the page item, although I suspect that this isn't the whole story, as this scenario doesn't predictably lead to the problem we're occasionally seeing.
2. Returning SQL from a PL/SQL function that did not correspond either with the report template in use (for example dummy SQL (within an error block) that doesn't match the report template we're using (for example a column needed for conditional row formatting is missing)), or with the report definition (numbers and attributes of columns displayed - sorry I can't be very specific on this score, but in these cases deleting and recreating the report region with the same source has cured it).
3. Other errors in the region PL/SQL source, such as referring to the wrong package when declaring a type, causing a type mismatch error.
The latest page we had this problem with was returning SQL from a packaged PL/SQL function, in which creating a SQL block had thrown a 'character string buffer too small' error, and returned a dummy SQL string that did not contain a header column referenced in the report template, although some supposition has gone into that, as the focus was more on fixing the problem than pinning down its exact cause.
The Apache logs don't tell us a great deal, other than that the server is in a great deal of trouble. There is nothing to indicate the start of the problem, but after a while we gets lots of entries like this:

On the database side, it's difficult for us to figure out what's happening, but it looks like APEX is trying to run an error-handling routine, which makes sense, but it does appear to be locked into a try-fail-retry cycle. We loaded an APEX page that had previously exhibited those symptoms with the DBAs running a trace, and the highlights of the TKPROF output were:

Materialized View, ORA-12008: error in materialized view refresh path
I want to refresh a materialized view, but I get an ORA-12008 error.
Does anybody have an idea? I do not find any errors in my refresh statement.

I would first check the "query" information of the DBA_SNAPSHOTS/DBA_MVIEWS dictionary views if it reveals anything obvious.
But it looks more like an internal error while processing the refresh. You can get more information about the error by tracing the session. A "alter session set sql_trace = true;" before running the refresh should be sufficient. Disconnect afterwards and check the generated trace file for errors either using "tkprof" and checking the output or by manually searching for "err=" in the trace file.
Which 4-digit version of Oracle are you using?

While running adcfgclone on dbtier if fails with following error

we are trying to clone a production instance for doing some patching
while running adcfgclone on target (test instance) it fails

I have seen repetitive errors in listener log file of one of our databases.
The errors are like this,

There are also errors like the following,

TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
TNS-12502: TNS:listener received no CONNECT_DATA from client
I referred this oracle metalink note, ID 275058.1 and it says this is because LOCAL_LISTENER and REMOTE_LISTENER are not configured properly, But I see errors like this being frequent (every minute) yesterday and only once today.
Our Application team complains about problems in performance of various procedures at various time intervals. Can this be the cause of such performance degradation ?The first error is similar when copy/paste listener.ora to other node (ex. test enviroment) and not modify listener.ora then when you tyr start listener, it connect and register to original node.
If your application team have poor performance, maybe you must trace (tkprof or sqlnet trace) to concrete the problem.
