ESS Family members/dependents iview

Hello All,
I am having an issue with the family members and dependents iview in ESS.
Right now when I click on the iview it displays a line of buttons each saying new spouse, new child, new first emergency contact etc and when I click on any of these buttons it displays the detail view of that contact.
My requirement is to change the overview page of this iview from displaying a list of buttons to may be a list box or a combo box. I looked at the bizcard view of this iview but could not figure out how to change this or if there is any customization that can be done in IMG to change the view of this iview.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Renu

Hi Sharadha and Krishnagopal
Thank you for responding. So I need to change the bizcard view of this iview. I have the NWDI set up and imported the application. I saw the bizcard view also but could not understand where I need to make the changes as it looks same as any other bizcard view of any other application.
Any suggestion on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Renu

  • ESS Family Members/Dependents Screen

    Using ESS 50.4,  HR 470 SP73,  EP 6.0
In the Family Member/Dependent screen the Next and Previous buttons take the user back to the List screen.  We need for the user to be able to view the next family member such as when someone has more than one child.
Is this an HR Functional setting or does the screen have to be modified?
Please provide details of how to correct this problem.
Thank you for your assistance and points will be awarded,
    Donna Maupin

Hmmm still not following....so let me ask this.....at what point in this process would it fail...
    (1) user views list of dependents in table
    (2) user selects row (ie. clicks row selector to left) of the dependent they wish to select
    (3) user selects the "display/edit" button from below the table.
    (4) user is taken to next screen that displays the details of the selected dependent
    (5) user selects the "back" button (NOT browser back button)
    (6) user select another dependent in the table following stepts 2 and 3 above.
    (7) user views details of newly selected dependent.
Is that not what you followed? If so and it still broke (only returned to first dependent in the list), I would say it was more likely a program error/bug. I know other user actions can cause issues (like double clicking on a row to select it) which might result in the wrong record being chosen....but nothing else I have seen seems to be like you described.

  • ESS Family Members

    Hi
I got a problem in ESS Family members / dependents where the Header of the Subtype does not appear in the view. It is a funny situation where we find the 3rd record always gets this problem.
I raised a OSS with SAP they are still looking at our system but have not got a reply for very long time.
Please tell me if anyone has encountered/resolved  this problem
    regards
    Pravin

    Hi
You see when i display the family members & dependents for each record like Father Mother Brother Sister there is a heading of the subtype and under this heading the details of the record appears like this example
    Spouse
    Last Name: Bhattacherjee
    Name at Birth:
    First Name: sanchit
    Date of Birth: 4/1/1982
    Father
    Last Name: Bhattacherjee
    Name at Birth:
    First Name: Subir Kumar
    Date of Birth: 11/20/1950
                                              <----
    here there is no heading
    Last Name: Bhattacherjee
    Name at Birth:
    First Name: Mother
    Date of Birth: 1/1/1955
    Brother
    karthika
    Last Name: Bhattacherjee
    Name at
You see I have noticed for every 3rd record  the subtype heading does not appear

  • ESS Family Members iView - Change UI Elements

    Hi guys,
On ESS Family Members iview, the subtypes (i.e. family members) appear as buttons on the page - 1 button for each family subtype. I'm trying to change it from family subtypes appearing as buttons to values in a dropdown list. However, when i do so, it keeps hitting error:
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: DataNodeInfo(BizCardsView): unknown child node
    What I did was:
    - Modify FcPersInfo.CreateOverview method
    - comment off the buttons creation
    - basically replace the code with:
    IWDDropDownByIndex DDI =  (IWDDropDownByIndex) view.createElement(IWDDropDownByIndex.class, "dd");
    DDI.bindTexts(wdGetContext().nodeSubtypes_Info().getNodeInfo().getAttribute("Stext"));
    container.addChild(DDI);
Has anyone met this error b4 and can share your resolution pls? Thank you.

K, issue solved. This is due to context node not existing in the view.
However, my context node contains the keys such as 1,2,3. How can i get it to display the subtype word itself, that the key map to? such as Child, Spouse,...

  • Family Members/Dependents - Gender not updating backend

    Hi All,
We are using ESS for ECC6....
In our PRD environment, we are seeing some Family Member/Dependent records saved to the backend (IT0021) without a Gender selected (neither radio button is selected)..   The issue seems to occur arbitrarily: sometimes the Gender is saved to the backend, sometimes it is not.  It is not specific to one or two subtypes.  Has anyone else seen this behavior?
    Thanks,
    Karen G.

    Hi Barin --
    Thanks for your response...
I saw note 1120683, but it says it is only for Belgium... (?)
However, should I make the same entries in backend table V_T588MFPROPS? I currently have NO ENTRIES in the table for Fields FASEX, GESC1, and GESC2 for our country (version 10). Our requirement is for when the
user is in ESS Famly Members/Dependents they MUST select either MALE or FEMALE (radio button) before saving the record. This is "normally" how it currently works for us -- with the exception of those arbitrary records (approx 10) we found with nothing saved.  Was this caused due to missing table entries or was it just a weird fluke that could be caused by a bad networking connection when the EE was saving the record..?
Please advise any thoughts or recommendations...
    Regards,
    Karen G.

  • ESS Family Member/Dependents Fields

    Hello Everyone.
We have implemented ESS (ECC6, Portal 7 SP13) and the Family Members/Dependents screen is coming up. However, on the screen when we try to add a Spouse or a child, there is no field to capture their SSN or address. What steps do we need to enable the SSN and the address fields to show up?
    Thanks.

OK, I am not that experienced at this so I am trying to give you the best info I can from my side. I really appreciate your help.
So, I imported the project into my NWDS through our NWDI. On opening it in the WD Perspective, I went to WebDynpro->WebDynpro Components and there I saw a number of components with some views in them. There is a component in there called VcPerFamilyUSDetail that has a view (called DetailView) which includes all the fields I need and the SSN/Address etc. are visible. Also, I checked its mapping and it is doing the mapping to the correct fields on the SAP side i.e. PERID and STRAS.
However, this is not what I see on the portal when I go to this App. I am thinking (but not sure) that I probably see the view under VcPerFamilyUSOverview instead since that view is not mapping the SSN and Address fields. Although, when I try to open that view (called BizCardsView), it does not show me anything.
So, I am guessing I somehow need to re-point my ESS to access VcPerFamilyUSDetail instead of VcPerFamilyUSOverview. Is that correct? And if so, how would I achieve that?

  • ESS Family Members country selection

    Hello,
I am on EP7.0 ERP05 NW04s and trying to modify the ESS Family Members Application ..On the Edit Spouse page when you select a country from the DropDown like USA then in the State selection DropDown you should be able to select only US states ...but it actually lists all the states of all the countries...Is this something missing on the Webdynpro side or is some configuration at the Backend side??
Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Hi Subash,
This requires a code change in the front end and back end to be done by SAP. It is already available with ERP2005 SP stack 09.
Please refer note : 1039586 - Dependent F4 Functionality for US Family/Dependents Scenario.
    This gives you the solution.

  • Problem with Family members/dependents screen in ESS for Switzerland countr

    Hi All,
We are checking standard Fmaily Members/dependents screen in Personal Information under ESS for switzerland and screen doesn't have some fields compared to what we see in pa30 for the same country.if we check for other countries ess portal screen and pa30 screen look similar.when we check switzerland country specific webdypro component layout is different from pa30 and some of the fields are missing.
why is this inconsistency with only switzerland country and is there any note available for this
    Thanks
    Bala Duvvuri

Unfortunately you have to, But since the fields are available in backend, It can be easily be made visible in the front end
changing the properties of the field
Do make sure you raise a development request if this indeed required by the customer, You can raise a OSS for it, But I am afraid answer wont be encouraging

  • ESS - Family Members - Incorrect gender being displayed for Children

    Hello,
On the "Family Members/Emergency Contact" page in ESS the Gender of the children is not being displayed properly.  The first child displays with the proper gender but after that each subsequent child is being displayed with the same gender as the firts child.
For example, if the first child displayed is Male then all others will then be displayed as Male regardless of whether they are Male or Femail.
Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.
    Daniel A

    Daniel,
I guess it has to do with the HR configuration. How do the genders appear there?

  • ESS - Family Members Detail screen

    Hello,
I am on EP 7,NW04s, ERP 05 and tring to modify the Family Members Detail screen .I have already hidden some of the fields and moved some up and down but the Previous and the Review button and too far down because of the space created by hiding the fields ,how can I move these buttons up, since I don't see them in the Detail View Layout....
Also I want to put a validation on the review button to make the Social Security Number field as mandatory ...I think I have to modify the ess~per application ....
Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Hello Subhash.
If you look at this thread:
    Floor Point Manager (FPM)
You will find some links to documents explaining how to modify an ESS application.
It should explain to you in these documents, that validation is completed in R/3 NOT in the Web Dynpro application - so modification of the application is NOT required.
    I hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Chris

  • Family Members/Dependents Biz Card

As it relates to the following:
    HRESS_CC_PER_OVR_FAMILY_XX
    HRESS_CC_PER_DTL_FAMILY_XX
These two CCs only provide fields from IT0021, but IT0106 would also apply.
Given the fact that the BizCards work off of the BOL model and each object in the BOL model is related to only one infotype.  Is there a way to also add fields from IT0106 on the same UIBB/BizCard?

    Samuli,
Your confirmation that it should work, led me back to the real problem.  We keep getting bitten by our implementation of US - Public Sector.  I'm not even sure what all that does, but I do know it makes the VIEKN field on IT0003 = 'UP' which isn't friendly with the app cc for this personal information application.
If I look at the HRESS_CC_PER_DTL_FAMILY_US it indeed has everything we need.  I keep forgetting that UP is getting passed through the app cc and it wasn't delivered to handle it, so we end up defaulting to the XX version for everything.
We have replaced the XX version in both the overview and detail UIBBs with US versions to take the app cc out of the equation for other infotypes.  But I feel this isn't the correct way to do it.
Would you have any thoughts on handling the UP issue we have as it relates to these biz cards?
Do we just need to maintain an enhancement in the GENIL_MODEL_EDITOR and add all the UP objects and point them to US structures?

  • Family Members for ESS SP9

    Hello,
I am on EP7.0 ERP05 NW04s ESS6.0 SP8 Patch 9 . There was one problem in the ESS Family Members/Dependents Detail screen for country selection for which a note 1039586 was released ....this note tells you to apply new SP9 released to solve the issue but we have already started Development with SP8 and done changes ...so we cannot apply SP9  .....is there some other way to go about this issue without manually changing the application...
Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Hi Subhash,
Is the prerequisite note 981703 applied as mentioned in the note 1039586.
Have you applied the correction instructions which gives you the backend changes?
In case, if both of the above are done, then you have the complete backend changes.
Remaining Front end changes to be done
    1. You have to create model in the family DC for the RFC which is added when you imported the correction instructions from 1039586.
    2. You have to call the RFC onSelect action of the 'country' dropdown and assign the values returned by the RFC to the variable assoicated with the state dropdown.
Hope this is clear. But i suggest you to apply SP9 instead of making all these changes
    Regards,
    Sharadha
