I posted this yesterday on the MOS Community forum, but with no reponse overnight I thought I'd cast a wider net here.
Working out the procedures on a VBox testbed. For the setup, I created the vm, installed 10.2, then patched it up to 10.2.0.4. I then used dbca to create a general purpose database, without the sample schema.
Prior to the upgrade I executed utlu112i_5.sql. It suggested the following additional queries:
SELECT (translate(value,chr(13)||chr(10),' ')) FROM sys.v$parameter2
WHERE UPPER(name) ='EVENT' AND isdefault='FALSE'
SELECT (translate(value,chr(13)||chr(10),' ')) FROM sys.v$parameter2
WHERE UPPER(name) ='_TRACE_EVENTS' AND isdefault='FALSE'
When the script finishes and suggest those queries, I'm still in sqlplus, so I simply copy and paste them. Both return zero rows.
Yet ..
When I actually execute DBUA, it gets to a warning that says
Your database has EVENT or _TRACE_EVENT initialization parameters set. Oracle recommends reviewing any defined events prior to upgrade. DBUA will retain these parameters during upgrade.
Sign me -- "perplexed".

You can ignore this warning in case sql queries on event doesn't report any rows.

Why can't I find events by name in iCal after upgrade to Lion?

I just upgraded to Lion on my MacBook Pro and have moved to iCloud. Now iCal (version 5.0.1) no longer allows me to find events by typing the event name in the search bar. This is frustrating. Do you see the folder if you are using the system navigator instead of the application navigator in JDeveloper?
Check your project properties->content and sub nodes to make sure the TopLink directory is included in the project.

Empty Event Folders on OS Devices after upgrade to Photos for Mac

I recently upgraded to Photos for Mac and did the same on my iPhone and iPad. Even though some my iPhoto Events have synced, most have not. What is the reason for this error? Also, How can I add pictures from the Photos for Mac application to my OS Devices?

Events and Albums are not the same thing in iPhoto. Iphoto Events are converted to Albums when you migrate to the new app. Using iCloud library is probably the best way to access these on your iOS devices.

Calendars and event data lost in mountain lion upgrade from snow leopard on mac book pro

I just upgraded to mountain lion today. It appears my contacts and emails were transferred without loss to the new system but all of my calendar data and the calendars themselves have disappeared. Does anyone know how I can get my old calendars and event data back? I backed up my laptop on time machine before doing the upgrade, so my old calendars should be on my external hard drive. I'd like to simple recover the data from the laptop if it is just hidden somewhere. Alternatively, if someone could tell me how to import the backed up calendars back in that might be a good plan B. I also still have the old calendars on my iphone which I am afraid to sync for fear of data loss.
I looked through previous responses in the community to this same question and I tried deleting the account and adding it back in but that did not work. Any assistance would be appreciated. Apple support is giving me an cold shoulder that is rather unexpected given my past good experience with Apple support. Bummin out over here

Which way do you reinstall OSX?
I would go through the recovery partition, check Disk there and then run the installer. make sure you have a reliable connection the the Internet.
This could be a third party app you have running in the background that is crashing. what exactly is crashing ?
are you getting kernel Panics?
You are not able to simply roll back to Snow Leopard, you will have to have a SL disk, and then erase and install SL onto you hdd/ssd. This will erase ALL of your data so I hope you have a Time Machine backup or bootable clone.
I believe your issue is with a third party application installed.
More information is needed.

On a personal note, I think you are missing out on ML and need to figure out if there is an application running that is causing ML to crash.
Usually a reinstall fixes my issues.

Event ID 4740 Not Appearing After Upgrade to 2012 R2

Hi
Recently we upgraded our domain controllers both primary and secondary from 2008 r2 to 2012 r2 and since the upgrade i do not see the lockout events that fall with ID 4740. On 2008 R2 it used to appear as even id 4740 giving where the lockout takes place.
Although after doing the upgrade this does not seem to appear

Based on your description, we can run command auditpol.exe /get /category:*
to check if the audit account management is enabled.

IPhoto 08 will not open any events since 9.1.5 auto-upgrade. Can anyone help?

I had an auto-update on my Mac OSX 10.5.8 for iPhoto program to Version 9.1.5 on July 14th. Since then I cannot open any events in iphoto when I double click on them. I can see the other pictures in each event but that's all. IPhoto only lets me scan in photo's. The program is now unusable. I tried to delete the update of 9.1.5 and it doesn't show in finder now, then I downloaded IPhoto 8.0.2. I had IPhoto Version 08, 7.1.5, at least that's what it reads in About.
I hope someone can help me with this problem. Also, if I now have a thumb size photo on my desktop it no longer opens to a bigger view.

What version of iPhoto do you actually have?
iPhoto Menu -> About iPhoto
If you have iPhoto 08 then the v9.1.5 update will have done nothing. Ditto with iPhoto v8.0.2
You have the most up-to-date version of iPhoto 08 there is.
I cannot open any events in iphoto when I double click on them. I can see the other pictures in each event but that's all.
Check the double click speed on your Mouse.
What happens when you try to open an Event?

Cannot select photo events with iPhone anymore with new upgrade - can we only use the cloud now?

I used to be able to select events from iPhoto that I wanted to appear in my phone. I cannot use photo stream for various reasons. The last time I synced my iPhone it would not allow me to select any events at all, but only reverted to the recent photo stream ONLY. Which means that none of my old photos can now be found on my iPhone. I hate this - I want some of my old photos. Why can't I select my old events? Please help!

Okay, here's the sequence that 'may' help explain; 1st- My son got an Iphone 4 & wanted to buy songs, etc., so I added his phone to my Itunes acct..--he consequently signs on under my email address (my Apple ID) & my PW. No problem then, it had/has listed ex. Mom's Iphone & Son's Iphone (mine is a 4s, don't think that makes a difference- except in telling u that Siri doesn't work properly now either & refers to my son's name now instead of mine!) As far as I can tell, the real problems began with the ICloud settings on our Iphones--meaning the settings on 'where' to back our phone's- ICloud or to the Laptop (both phones back up to the same laptop.) It's so complicated I can hardly explain it, so sorry if I'm bouncing around! I did not mean to or rather it was not an intentional decision to use the same ICloud, however since we share the same comp. and Itunes account, and basically passwords--it somehow happened. I don't know how to undo this mess! Last night I went to ICloud.com & was able to sign on with my son's @me.com user ID & our Itunes PW (aka-Apple ID.) It really didn't do anything except show me Iphone features, ex. Contacts, Ibook, etc.. I did 'not' see a place where I could change any settings, like to possibly change his Apple ID, or pw...that's all I can think of to change? And even with that I'm not sure how to do that...he's 14, a minor--so he has to be under my settings to a degree. Don't mind at all having seperate ID's, but we do share "some" music and app's for example. Is any of this making sense or even partially explaining my problems? Thank you in advance!

Events disappear from Photos 1.0 upgrade

I am having a terrible time adjusting to the new Photos 1.0. It seems you cannot organize your photos by events anymore, they are forcing you to organize by date, and now all my old events are now "albums". Can I go back to the old system? Or can I change this so I am managing how my photos are organized? I really hate this new system so far.

You can organise your albums by name or manually which gives you unlimited organisation possibilities. If you don't want to use the new Photos application, you can for the foreseeable future continue to use iPhoto which can still be found in your Application folder.

Accessing folders/events that were in iPhoto After Upgrade to Photos for Mac

I had 82 events/albums in iPhoto. What is the best process to access these folders on all my OS devices in Photos for Mac?

Events and Albums are not the same thing in iPhoto. Iphoto Events are converted to Albums when you migrate to the new app. Using iCloud library is probably the best way to access these on your iOS devices.

To restate the fundamentals ... Working out the procedures on a VBox testbed. For the setup, I created the vm, installed 10.2, then patched it up to 10.2.0.4. I then used dbca to create a general purpose database, without the sample schema.
Executed DBUA. As expected at that point, it skipped update of Spatial, Data Mining, and 3 OLAP components. I had seen this on earlier upgrades of 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3 and did not concern myself as those components aren't supported with Std Ed One. It appered then and now that earlier releases (even 11.2.0.1) included OLAP even though it wasn't supported, then the DBUA for follow-on patchset upgrades would simply skip the upgrade of unsupported components. Upgrade also reported 'failed' on Intermedia. Again, seems like an edition issue that I can ignore. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Bigger question is that after completing the DBUA upgrade, I ran the script used to take daily backups of the real database. This script takes both an rman incremental backup and an data pump export. And here's where things got "curioser and curioser". Here's an excerpt from the expdp log file:

Well, obviously OLAP isn't enabled. It's Standard Edition One, which doesn't support OLAP. I'm just wondering if there is something that can or should be done to clean up a little better.

I'm thinking I don't have a real operational problem here, but I do like to tie up any loose ends and keep things as clean as possible.
Ditto....we had many more invalid objects after the upgrade than before and they were all OLAP related. As we weren't using OLAP we did the cleanup to avoid any future issues.
It seems odd to me that if one selects to install Standard Edition One, it would still install EE options at all ..... just to have DBUA choke on them later.
Our Oracle support guy was a bit confused as to why the OLAP removal scripts didn't exist on our server. This was expected for Standard Edition but not Enterprise Edition. Something has probably happened during some migration/upgrade to cause this. In any case removing the objects manually including the public OLAP synonyms resolved our issues.

After I upgraded to Mountain Lion my ICal will show event times in day, month and list format but not week format. I can click get info to find out the event time but that is cumbersome. I checked the box to show event times in preferences but no go

Google Calendar has lost all my events, could this have happened with the last upgrade of Firefox

All my events suddenly disappeared after my last upgrade of FireFox. I have deleted cookies etc but no events show up from Fire Fox or IE8 attempts. I believe this is a Google issue as a result of their attempt to upgrade their own Google Calendar product. Can you confirm this is absolutely not a FireFox related issue?
Also my Wall Street Journal now fails to load articles sending me a "failure to load type message...please try again" message. On the please try again the clicked article loads ok and all others load as long as I don't close FireFox.
Ideas would be appreciated.

Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" in "Clear Recent History" will remove exceptions that are stored in content-prefs.sqlite (site specific settings for zoom) and permissions.sqlite (exceptions for images, cookies, pop-ups, software; Tools > Page Info > Permissions) in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder].
The password exceptions (Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: Show Passwords) are also removed from signons.sqlite.

I want to know how to exit in "load-of-program event".
Recently our system was upgraded from 4.6c to ecc 6.0.
Some programs have a coding as follows.
LOAD-OF-PROGRAM.
IF SY-TCODE = 'XXXXX' OR SY-TCODE = 'YYYYY'.
IF SY-UNAME = 'AAAAA'.
    MESSAGE E000 WITH TEXT-001.
ENDIF.
ENDIF.
CLEAR ............
PERFORM ..............
It's running well in 4.6c but occurred error in ecc 6.0 as follows.

Why did my Events get hacked up?

After "upgrading" to iPhoto '11, I see that Events that span several days all got hacked into daily events. Now I have to go back and reconstruct all those Events.
This is the worst upgrade I've ever experienced from Apple.

I upgraded. Events that cover multiple dates got separated into separate dates, based on dates. So a week's vacation in Santa Barbara no longer is one event, but seven.
Some Events did not get hacked up, but many did. It appears that older photo Events got hacked up, newer ones did not.
