Every thing is object?(thinking in java)

every thing is object.(thinking in java)
then int and float?
Does java is a complete OO language

Hi!
it is nice question..
int, float, double, char, ...all are data types as they are in C++.But in Java one can also find wrapper classes(Objects) for these all data types like Integer, Float, Double, etc..so by this one can treat "java as Fully Object Oriented Programming...isn't it.??

    Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
    Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo.

    Running on Lion, never had a problem before until the old airport died and I replaced it.

    try connecting the device in _*recovery mode*_, then restore from your backup.
    also, make sure [_*Apple Mobile Device Service*_|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567] is installed and started.

    Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • Three Things to Really, Really Fix Java

    Three Things to Really, Really Fix Java
    1. One class file format, forever
    It should never change. We've had incompatibility problems when JDK 1.4 was out. Changes in
    the class library shouldn't require a new VM.
    2. Move most classes into the standard extensions
    ...so the bloat is removed, and the JRE download size is reduced.
    3. Class file build versioning
    Every time a class is rebuilt, a build ID number should be added, so we can make sure we use
    the correct version of a class. This should probably a public int getBuild() in Object.

    I mean, I have Xerces.jar 7 times on my HD. Also, for #1, I really, really think that not everyone needs all the libraries for their application. For example, 90% of programs need data structures, standard I/O. I say, we reduce the rt.jar file to have: java.lang.*, java.util, java.util.logging, java.swt (SWT - www.eclipse.org, but a renamed package), java.io, and java.net. The rest of the classes should be moved to the standard extensions. With these fewer packages, we'll stil have data structures, logging, fast GUI, basic I/O, and basic networking, while significantly reducing download time. My reasoning behind this is, most people don't need a high-performance socket I/O library (well I do...but not wordprocessors) or a SQL engine or RMI.

  • Usage of Object Cache for Java in J2EE apps

    Hi,
    we are investigating on whether we can use the Object Cache for Java
    (OCS4J) for our requirements. The question we have come across is:
    What is the designated way of integration for the Object cache to fit
    into the J2EE environment? Unfortunately, although the current manuals
    group OCS4J into the "Oracle Containers for J2EE Services Guide" and the
    suggested package name for the whole thing in JSR 107 seems to be
    javax.util.jcache, there is very little documentation on how the
    designers would like J2EE programmers to use the cache from within a
    J2EE app and all examples given are not from within a J2EE environment.
    We are in particular thinking about a hierarchy of several cache
    "compartments" (Region->Subregion->group) for different topics and using
    the hierarchical name of the cache (region.subregion.group) as the
    primary key for BMP Entity beans, each of them having their own
    CacheAccess object. Then we would have an API of stateless Session beans
    on top of that, which would be determining the cache "compartment", get
    the appropriate Entity Bean with the Cache Access object and then do the
    required operations on the cache.
    But then we immediately run into the question of how the mapping between
    Cache Objects and CacheAccess objects will be done etc.
    So is there anybody that can give us any hints how to use the OCS4J in
    an EJB scenario?
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    We have Java client requesting over HTTP to application server. We would like to cache some of the objects created by the servlet while serving the request. Can I use the OCS4J for caching the Java objects. Do I require any software or just copying the JAR file and importing the class would serve the purpose?

  • Exercise 8, Ch Access Control from Thinking  in Java

    I am learning java using Bruce Eckel book "Thinking in Java" 4th edition and I got stuck on one exercise:
    .. create a class called ConnectionManager that manages a fixed array of Connection objects. The client programmer must not be able to explicitely cteate Connection objects, but can only get them via a static method in ConnectionManager. When the ConnectionManager runs out of objects, it returns a null reference."
    So, as I understand client programmer should be able to use Connection object meaning the class is public, but cannot create one. Creating Connection objects is granted only to ConnectionManager. How to permit creating objects only to an object of certain type?
    serezha.

    Hi Peter,
    the point to look at is the Product Availability Matrix under service.sap.com/pam
    There max NW 7.0 EHP1 is supported for the java platform.
    Only thing you could do is to open an OSS message to clarify if and when it will be supported.
    Best,

  • Help with 'Thinking in Java' excercise

    Have been working through the excelent Thinking in Java book (free download from www.bruceeckel.com) but cant understand one of the excercises from chapter 6. The question is:-
    " Create two classes, A and B, with default constructors (empty argument lists) that announce themselves. Inherit a new class called C from A, and create a member of class B inside C. Do not create a constructor for C. Create an object of class C and observe the results."
    I'me OK with all this apart from the "and create a member of class B inside C", I dont understand what this means. Is member the same as object, in whitch case douse it mean create a object of class B in C?
    Ben

    Sounds like a private data member:
    public class A
        public static void main(String [] args)
            C c = new C();
        public A() { System.out.println("Created an A");
    class B
        public B() { System.out.println("Created a B");
    class C extends A
        private B b;

  • Access jsp's application object from an .java file?

    Hi,
    I hava a .jsp page and an import statement to a .java file. How can I access the application object in this .java file?
    I want to make an initialization function that I want to be called in every .jsp of the WEB application and to store this function in a .java file.

    The only way to get a hold of the application object would be to pass it to java code as a parameter to a method.
    ie public class Util{
    public void initialiseJSPPage(ServletContext application){
      // do stuff in ServletContext
    }and then in the JSP call it via
    <% Util.initialiseJSPPage(application); %>
    You could manually include this code on every JSP.
    A better alternative is that in web.xml you can configure an automatic include (See JSP.3.3.5)
    What is it you are trying to accomplish by doing this?
    Would a Filter be a more appropriate tool in this case? That would let you run java code before selected requests are handled.
    Cheers,
    evnafets

  • Static import from SE5 (Ex 16 on p. 91 in Thinking in Java Edn 4 by Eckel)

    The following line of code is underlined:
    import static net.mindview.util.Print.*;with this error displayed:
    static import declarations are not supported in -source 1.4
    (try -source 1.5 to enable static import declarations).
    My Path variable contains these:
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0\bin;C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0\bin;D:\java\TIJ4\code
    D:\java\TIJ4\code is the root folder for net.mindview.util.Print.
    JRE1.6 and JDK1.6 are installed.
    I also have:
    i.e. a dot, in my CLASSPATH variable.
    This is from the 4th edn of Thinking in Java by Bruce Eckel. If you are or have been through this stuff I would really appreciate it if we could meet on Skype every now and then to talk about issues like the one described above.
    Thanks for your help,
    b

    Now same code is underlined:
    import static net.mindview.util.Print.*;but with this error message:
    package net.mindview.util does not exist
    However it is mapped like this:
    D:\java\TIJ4\code\net\mindview etc..
    So, I have put this in to the Path variable:
    D:\java\TIJ4\code because it is the root folder of net.mindview.util.
    Is there something else I should do? Is is ok to have a non C directory in the Path variable?
    Thanks for any help,
    B

  • Thinking in Java

    I am wondering if there is anyplace where i can download code which is good OOP oriented, and that can help me in my transition to thinking in Java. I understand what objects are, just need a bit of help in turning it into code. A program perhaps that is a little larger than what is usually found in the tutorials.

  • Trying to pass Oracle array/object type to Java

            public int right_pos;
            public int top_pos;
            public int bottom_pos;
            public int leading;
            public TextObject[] column_texts;
    }I have object types in Oracle as such that bind to the Java classes:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "PROGRAMMER"."PDFJ_TEXT" AS OBJECT
    EXTERNAL NAME 'PDFJ$TextObject'
    LANGUAGE JAVA
    USING SQLData(
      "FONT_NAME" VARCHAR2(25) EXTERNAL NAME 'font_name',
      "FONT_SIZE" NUMBER EXTERNAL NAME 'font_size',
      "FONT_STYLE" VARCHAR2(1) EXTERNAL NAME 'font_style',
      "TEXT_STRING" VARCHAR2(4000) EXTERNAL NAME 'text_string'
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "PROGRAMMER"."PDFJ_TEXT_ARRAY" AS
      TABLE OF "PROGRAMMER"."PDFJ_TEXT";
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "PROGRAMMER"."PDFJ_COLUMN" AS OBJECT
    EXTERNAL NAME 'PDFJ$ColumnObject'
    LANGUAGE JAVA
    USING SQLData(
      "LEFT_POS" NUMBER EXTERNAL NAME 'left_pos',
      "RIGHT_POS" NUMBER EXTERNAL NAME 'right_pos',
      "TOP_POS" NUMBER EXTERNAL NAME 'top_pos',
      "BOTTOM_POS" NUMBER EXTERNAL NAME 'bottom_pos',
      "LEADING" NUMBER EXTERNAL NAME 'leading',
      "COLUMN_TEXTS" "PROGRAMMER"."PDFJ_TEXT_ARRAY" EXTERNAL NAME 'column_texts'
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "PROGRAMMER"."PDFJ_COLUMN_ARRAY" AS
        TABLE OF "PROGRAMMER"."PDFJ_COLUMN";
    /I successfully (as far as I know) build a PDFJ_COLUMN_ARRAY object in a PL/SQL procedure. The PDFJ_COLUMN_ARRAY contains PDFJ_COLUMN objects; each of those objects contains a PDFJ_TEXT_ARRAY of PDFJ_TEXT objects (Example: pdf_column_array(i).pdf_text_array(i).text_string := 'something';). In this procedure, I pass this PDFJ_COLUMN_ARRAY as a parameter to a Java function. I assume the Java function parameter is supposed to be a oracle.sql.ARRAY object.
    I cannot figure out how to decompose this generic ARRAY object into a ColumnObject[] array. I also tried Googling and searching the forums, but I can't figure out matching search criteria. I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about passing user-defined Oracle type objects to a Java function and retrieving the user-defined Java class equivalents that they are supposedly mapped to--especially a user-defined array type of user-defined object types containing another user-defined array type of user-defined object types.

    Ok. I will try asking on the JDBC forum. So, don't
    flame me for cross-posting. :PWe won't, if over there you just post basically a

    I'm not sure if I am reading you correctly but am I right in thinking that you want to wipe your phone clean and start from scratch? If so then just hard reset yor phone using the *#7370# code. The default lock code is 12345. Be sure to backup your data first because all your data may be wiped.
    You can then proceed to reinstall all your apps.

    the goal is: i have written a graph datastructure in java and want to parse a xml file. for every String in the xml file a new node in the graph should be created. this node holds the data and a position (2D). now evertime a node in the graph was created, a visual representation for this node should pop out in my javafx stage. when the position of the node changed the visual rep. should notice this or rather a function on this object is called (observer).
    is javafx an approach to do so? or should i use java2d?
    do you know a tutorial where i can learn how to create an call javafx objects out of java and how to put them into the stage/scene?
    i found this: http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/scripting/javafx/javafx_and_java/index.html
    but there is not mentioned how to put the object into the stage/scene.
    regards
    peter
