You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. When I open Mozilla Foxfire I get several tabs that automatically each heading is (Index of file:///C:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox/) then shows all file in Mozilla installation Dir. This is the address in the address bar (file:///C:/Program%20Files%20%28x86%29/Mozilla%20Firefox/). My home page is set for MSN.com

If you get a program called malware bytes it blocks that window from popping up. Hope that helps :)

Hi, I am having similar problem to other people that I have found on this forum in that on my computer, when Firefox is first installed from fresh, Windows 7 displays the correct icon for htm/html files, but when I restart, these icons are replaced with the generic "I don't know" icons. So far I have tried to fixes this issue with the following methods to fox this issue, none of which have worked:
- rebuilding the icon cache by deleting iconcache.db
- setting defaults programs from Firefox to IE then back to Firefox
- adding the registry keys Old Icon -> FirefoxHTML -> DefaultIcon from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{42042206-2D85-11D3-8CFF-005004838597} to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42042206-2D85-11D3-8CFF-005004838597}
- changing the Windows Zoom settings from 100% to 150% and back
- Using the programs Types, to delete and recreate the htm associations.
Also, I know that I have been able to fix this issue before when I have had to reinstall Windows before, but I cannot remember how exactly, aprt from that I did involve editing the registry, but possible not in the way I found on the forum.

Hopefully this will help you. Try placing your iPad in recovery mode again. You may have to try this a few times.

Disconnect the iPad, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!, reconnect and follow the prompts.

Font folder? Replace number of active fonts? CMON, act like its the fonts... absurd.

I have been using Adobe software since 2002 and this is typical. I have had a DECADE, yes, 10 years of patching, reinstalling, re-starting, removing things, running obscure command line scripts, Adobe blaming windows, windows ignoring adobe, Apple acting like they dont know, Adobe doing the same.
As a WARNING to anyone still using CS6, my opinion: "dont uptate YET" cause Adobe made it disgustingly difficult to roll back to CS6.

This issue can be caused gadgets on the Facebook page.
You will have to check that out by removing each of them until you find the culprit.

I'm currently in mac recovery. I have a 21.5'' iMac (I think late 2011). I'm running OSX mountain lion and I think its kept up to date. Every time I boot, nether in OSX or windows I get a screen the same as the boot screen just with a buffering wheel (not the beachball one). This seems to go on for ever (at least 3 hours) ant will not boot. Booting in safe mode does not work and results in the same problem. As I said earlier I can get tom recovery mode. Thanks Oliver.

Mac OSX mountain lion
Windows 7 Pro 64bit
4GB of ram
OSX 10 FULL backups (External 2TB drive)
500GB HDD

Hello, disconnect any external drives for now.
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.
