Everything on my blackberry torch is wiped out

Everything on my blackberry torch is wiped out and gone back to its default settings and language which is not english. first how do i change it back to english.
secondly how do i get my contacts and messages back.
Please I need a reply ASAP

To get your language back on track, from your homescreen go to Options>Typing and Input>Language and make sure everything is set to English.  Now press the menu key and select Save.
As for getting your contacts and messages back, if you didn't do a data backup via Desktop Manager, you can't retrieve them.  Backing up your data on a regular basis is not only crucial, it's the only way to retrieve such information in a situation such as this.

  • ? transfer podcasts ect onto computer after database wiped out

My computer crashed and everything on my database has been wiped out. I am trying to download all my videos and podcasts onto my itunes library which seems to have a couple of songs I do not recognise. It allows for some purchased items to be downloaded but does not download all my stuff from my ipod onto the computer even though I have authorised the computer to accept the data ?

Assuming that all the music that is on your iPod was purchased from iTunes you can navigate to the iTunes store from iTunes and download your music again by clicking on the new 'Purchased' button. If you have music ripped from CD's it will not show up here.  Alternatively you can click iTunes > Preferences (shortcut Command + ,) and then navigate to the second tab that says Sharring.  If you enable sharring of your iTunes library and then click 'Ok' to confirm that you're using this for personal use and not pirating music, then you will get the 'Home Sharing' option on the left hand sidebar of iTunes.  From there you can sign in to home sharing with the same Apple ID that is signed in to the iPod and drag 'n' drop your music from the iPod touch to your iTunes library.

Not good... do you have a recent or not so recent backup of your device?
I would recommend that you download the OS for your BlackBerry model, connect your BB via USB to your PC and follow the instructions for YOUR specific model of BB, found at the top of this link... one of those highlighted in yellow that state "attention"...

I am puzzled by this. The laptop doesn't need the Apple ID - but iTunes does. I could be missing something but ....
Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?

  • I reinstalled windows on my computer, wiped out everything is there any way to retrieve my library or at least my purchases, I reinstalled windows on my computer, wiped out everything is there any way to retrieve my library or at least my purchases

I reinstalled windows  and wiped out everything. Is there any way to retrieve my library or at least my purchases??

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Certainly you did not reinstall you os without making sure your backup copy was up to date.
Just use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>transfer Purchases.
If you are in the U.S, then you can use the newly released Beta version of icloud to retrieve them.  open itunes store, click Purchased under Quick Links.
ALWAYS maintaining a backup is very important.

This does not answer the question, and your wording is vague enough that it's hard to be sure exactly what's going on. Did you do exactly what is said here:

If not, tell us step-by-step what you did, as if you were trying to explain how to duplicate it to someone who knows nothing about computers.

There is no supported method to "downgrade" iOS on any device.  If you update, you will get the latest iOS for your device, which will be iOS 6.1.3.  You cannot go backwards to iOS 4.3
If you have never backed up in either iCloud or iTunes, then upgrading to iOS 6.1.3 will involve restoring your device as part of the upgrade.  Without a backup to restore from, you will loose everything that is on it.
You should first connect to iTunes with your computer, sync your device without upgrading and create an up to date backup of everything.  Then use the upgrade option in iTunes to update your iOS.
However, if the dock device strictly requires iOS 4.3, it will not work, as you cannot downgrade iOS.  There simply is no mechanism from Apple to do that.

I have 3 iPhones and 3 iPod syncing without problems on one computer.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
On your mum's iPhone go to Settings > General > About > Name - put in your mum's name so that iTunes can tell them apart.

  • Everything on iPod wiped out...now podcasts not updating

A couple days ago I had wanted to add an episode of a podcast to my iPod but wasn't on my XP account. It had downloaded to the XP account I was on, so I figured it would be easier to just update from there instead of logging off and waiting 5 minutes to log onto my account so all the antivirus stuff could load. So I plugged my iPod in and dragged the podcast episode to my iPod in the Source column (it's updated manually). Without warning, iTunes wiped out everything that had been on my iPod and started replacing it with everything on this particular iTunes library. I panicked and quickly unplugged my now empty iPod. I haven't been able to recover any of my songs except some of the podcasts. I downloaded Recover My Files, and it found a good number of the songs, but a) many have been overwritten (whatever that means) and b) it wanted me to pay 70 dollars for an activation code (first time is supposed to be free). Ever since my iPod was wiped out, iTunes has not updated the podcasts, so I manually downloaded the episodes I missed and added them to my library on my XP account. I dragged them to my iPod, and iTunes wiped out every podcast I had salvaged and left just the two I manually downloaded.
    So,
    1. Is there any hope for me to recover my songs?
    2. Why is iTunes not updating my podcasts and wiping out my songs whenever I add new ones to iPod?
    Thanks
ETA: No, I didn't back up my music, it was one of those things I meant to do.

Will the podcasts that can't be found actually play in iTunes on the computer? For the message I would say they will not play because iTunes can't find the actual file.

  • I've just updated to 5.0 on my iphone and it's wiped out everything

I just updated my software to iS05 and it's wiped out everything on my phone and made me set up a new account as it didn't recognise I already had one.  Now I have two accounts and only want one.  If I want all my apps back it wants me to buy them again on my new account.  Help.

Before you updated your phone, did you back it up? Your iTunes should have done that before you update it, so that once it finished, you could restore it back and retrieve all your apps and music. Also, it's important that you transfer your apps onto your itunes before updating, otherwise, you'll have to download them all over again, which can be a hassle. The plus side? Once you've purchased an app using your apple acc, you can download it again and again, with no added fees. Don't worry, it's totally free.
As for setting up a new acc, you should be able to restore it back once you sync your phone back and click 'restore'. So there really is no need to create a new one.

  • ITunes 11 won't let me add music to my iPhone manually w/out wiping out everything else

I want to add my own personal movies and/or add more music that I already OWN (don't want to "purchase" from iTunes nor need to) to my iPhone 4s without wiping out everything I already have on my phone. That seems to be the new problem with 11. I went to put a movie on my phone yesterday and checked the "manually manage" box and it still asked me if I was sure I wanted to do this cuz it would remove all my music and my tones and everything else. Why would I want to do that? I want to keep what I have. I have a solid song play list I like a lot and I have a lot of ring tones already set too.
Has anybody figured out a way to do this? Add to your device without wiping out what you already have?

It wants to erase your iPhone because you are not syncing it to the same library.
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss.  To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
iCloud only stores a copy of your non-iTunes purchases if you subscribe to Match. It still isn't the best way to get your music to a new computer.  That's
(if you use iTunes' default preferences settings):  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
