Excel and HTML printing format in APEX 3.0 question

Hi all,
I've followed the thread Problems with PDF printing, using Apache FOP! and Carl Backstrom's instruction in this link
http://carlback.blogspot.com/ to setup print server. Just only 2 "PDF and Word" format is working and the other 2 "html and excel" don't work. When i try to use the "Excel" format to print the report, all i see is %PDF-1.3

and when i witch to "html" format and click on the link, nothing to response. Do you have any idea about it? what should i set up to use the full print features?

Kevin,
Your options are to print the report as CSV and opening it in Excel (by enabling this under report attributes) or to install BI Publisher as the rendering engine. By rendering engine I mean the system that runs in the background to render your documents. So when you’re saying to print directly from the report, that’s what’s happening in the background: you report data gets posted along with a style sheet to that rendering engine, and you document gets returned so that you can download it as PDF, Word, Excel etc. Please see the following document for more details:

Hi,
I have a RTF template with my Company Logo Embedded. When I run the report from Standard Request Submission, and I give the output type as Excel or HTML, I dont see the Logo on my report.
When I give the output type as PDF or RTF, then I see the logo on my report.
Is there anything special I need to do, to see the Logo in Excel or HTML ? Am i missing anything.
I am using Oracle BI Publisher Template Builder for Word 10.1.3.2.0
I would really appreciate if you can pass your feedback.

Difference between pdf and html report format

Why HTML report printouts truncate from the right-end side, compare to the pdf report format ?, do i need to change anything
while running report through HTML format

The printing from html output is majorly affected by browser settings. Once you try to change the left and right margins in page setup before printing, I solved this problem in this way , it may work for you. Let me know if it works or if you overcome it by other ways.

Microsoft Excel Mac Issues - Print Format

I have Microsoft Office Mac 2008 and just purchased Microsoft Office Mac2011.
There is a formatting issue with printing spreadsheets as Excel defaults to Portrait and 100% Scaling. I save the Excel worksheets formatted as Landscape and 60% Scaling in order to fit each worksheet on one page. However, when I then reopen a spreadsheet and attempt to print, Excel frequently defaults to Portrait and 100% scale, so the worksheet may then take four pages to print.
This is very frustrating and unprofessional when I send the spreadsheet to a third party. It appears as if I don't know how to format the Print function.
I spent more than an hour with Mac technical support, but they could not resolve the issue. We uninstalled Office, including all of the Libraries, several times, but the problem persists.
I hoped that Microsoft Office Mac 2011 would resolve the issue, but it is still a problem.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

NI Report and HTML printing

Here I have described a problem with the NI Report VIs and printing HTML report on different machines.
I have made a small app just printing a page with "Hello World" on it. This app was generated on my Windows XP Prof. SP 2 machine at home. My IE version is 6.2.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158 and the Active-X component used is shdocvw.dll version 6.2.2900.2180, 04.08.2004 13:00.
The archive contains the app and all sources in LV Version 8.2.
I want to know from you if this app will run on your machine. Please report if it did or not together with the information which OS you are using and which IE version you have.
It seems that this VIs want run reliably on all machines.

I have tested the app on 7 machines in the office. We have 4 LV installations were it worked and 3 which give error 1 in "Print HTML using IE.vi". 6 Installations are on XP Prof. SP2 and one is Windows 2000 SP4.
All XP machines should be the same because we have them generated from one image and we have a central system update here. I think I have to make a look to see any differences.

I recieve my reciepts from all of my Apple purchases via email to my email cllient "MS Outlook 2003" on a Windows 7 Home Premium platform. I cannot format the print appearance of HTML documents within Outlook and the print border cuts of the last digit?

I use MS Outlook as my email client under Windows 7 Home Premium and when I receive a reciept from Apple for purchases made for my iPhone (Stores or iTunes) the HTML formatting cuts off the last digit of the price paid on my eReceipts (the only receipts I get). Outlook 2003 does not allow for HTML print formatting since they (HTMLs) are formatted from the source (Apple). Can you help me to get Apple to fix this or find a workaround?

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. This is very common and can be done a few ways. It's actually one of the great things about ApEx - VERY flexible. Please be more specific about what you're trying to do so we could point you in the right direction.

MS Word, Excel will not print black characters

This is the oddest upgrade problem EVER, and I've been running Macs since 1987.
Using MS Excel and Word, printing to my HP printers, none of the 'black' text will print in a word doc or excel sheet, but all of the 'colored' background fills will work. This is a common problem on my HP 2500L, HP2840 multifunction, and HP 2800.
Other applications (adobe publishing suite for one, Numbers, Pages, etc) all print fine, so I know it's not a mechanical problem with the printer.
Thoughts, anyone?

Figured it out. The printer will no longer recognize the Arial font. Changed all my standard template documents to Helvetica, and they work fine. Also in the process changed printer drivers per another thread.

Create z_70_255 based from the x_65_255 print format

Just want to ask re. my issue about creating a print format using SPAD.
My question is that I already created a print format z_70_255 based from z_65_255 but when I used it as a print format in one of our ABAP program, its output seems like the size of x_65_255 format. Considering that I adjusted its size of rows from 65 to 70. Please note that I just only copied the codes written in the printer initialization in the x_65_255. The printer that we'll be using is an HP LJ printer.

APEX Report Data Download in Excel and PDF format

Can someone please guide me how to download APEX report data in Excel and PDF format.I know this is possible through BI Publisher but that is extra Licence cost for client so i don't want to use that option.

Do the column headings display ok but the data does not?
If so it may be related to the font size. i.e. the whole report may not fit on the page when scaled for pdf output.

2-I made three queries Q1,Q2 & Q3 and linked them with proper field links but suppose Q3 returns no records for some Q1&Q2 records & when the report runs for delimited options it reflects only those records as output for which all the queries return records(if Q3 returns no record then the related records from queries Q1,Q2 don't reflect) while the output in desformat=html or pdf is ok..
can you please resolve my problems
( I have installed patch 5a in my report server machine)

experience, Oracle html output has too many
columns, which are not visible in the
browser but are obvious in Excel.)
We build our own html programmatically, so
that Excel matches the browser more closely.
