Excel export feature to be added within a month

Read the description near the bottom of the page in the Canadian store.
http://www.apple.com/ca/ipad/features/numbers.html
Exporting in Excel format is in the description and if you look at the same description in the US store you'll see that it isn't there.
The iPad release in Canada is "late May" so the fix to the app should be done before then.

This is such a huge GAP in functionality, why support sending .doc files back to word? Because it makes this a real option for getting an email modifying something and sending it back. Not so with either Keynote or Numbers. Calc from mariner software doesn't email back but at least makes the file available via a goofy local web address, I am asking then to simply let me send it back via email as well, but no reply as of yet.
PLEASE APPLE at least respond this is an issue and your working to resolve it.

  • Advanced Excel exporting features display question.

My company is using Crystal Reports XI and we're having an issue where we can't control the column width and remove page breaks as we could in Crystal Reports 9 when exporting to Excel.  Is there a way to display these same features in Crystal Reports XI when exporting to Excel format?
    John

Deepti thanks for your response, Sorry maybe I should have specified a little clearer which version of Crystal Reports XI my company is running.  My company is running Crystal Reports XI server powered by Business Objects.  So when I run a Crystal Report I only see an Icon for Exporting and Printing.  I don't see a place for
        "* File > Export > Export report
Format : Microsoft Excel 97-2000(XLS) and Destination: Application / Disk File > Click OK
Then Excel Format Options windows comes:"
I only see an icon for export and print.
What happens when I click the export icon is it will allow me to chose which format I want (i.e. Microsoft Excel 97-2000(XLS)) then from there I can only choose the page range.

  • Excel export & Layout feature for UI element table

    Hello,
I have a requirement to implement Excel export and saving of user layout in webdynpro table. I am not using ALV table but table UI element. Please let me know how I can implement the same.
    Regards
    Nilanjan

Let say you have button at table toolbar to export table data into excel. On click of this button you want to perform export:
you need to convert the content of context node bounded to table into an xstring to be used for export to an external file.
use following steps to convert your context node data into XSTRING
    1. Get reference to the wd table displaying the data
    2. Create header row for export
    3. Get columns of table
    4. Create export row with field names for excel header row
    5. Collect export attribute names
    6. Get your context node data
    7. Build your export string such that value of attributes in each line are separated by horizontal tab i.e. %_HORIZONTAL_TAB and all lines are separated by newline i.e. %_NEWLINE
    8. Once your export string is ready convert it into xstring using FM:
    CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
        EXPORTING
          text   = lv_export_str
        IMPORTING
          buffer = xstring.
    9. Once XString is ready, use following method to export into yur file type:
    CALL METHOD cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response(
           I_FILENAME = 'exporttabledata.xls'
          I_CONTENT =  lv_xstring
          I_MIME_TYPE = 'EXCEL' ).

  • Execution date in Excel export from a query

    Dear all,
I am wondering if it is possible to have the query execution date in an exported excel.
Case: When working in a query it should be possible to export the query to excel. However I am missing the execution date of the query and the last successful data load (which is visible in the webquery).
Anyone has an idea how to achieve that?
    Thank you in advance,
    Andreas

    Hey Guys,
Just wanted to point out that I know how to do this with a webapplication but I would need that within an excel export from an ordinary web query.
    Could someone help out here?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Excel export error, in edit mode

    Hi,
when I take an excel export of my web intelligence report in edit mode, there is  an error occurring (started after implementation of SSL) as it ws running fine earlier. And this problem is only IE specific. while if we take an excel export in view mode it works fine.
    ERROR:-
Internet explorer can not download cdz servlet from (serverIP).
    Please suggest some solution.
    Thanks,
    Bhawna Gaur

    Hi,
    Try this option:
    1. Ensure there is no pop-up blocker option selected in IE to prevent file export.
If the report contain hyperlinks, it is advisable to use the export feature in View mode.

  • The annotation features to be added

The annotation features are excellent, but a few new features could be added to operate the annotations.
The highlight annotation specified in the text body could be temporally invisible so that another annotation could be easily added to the part of the same text highlighted.
Underlines for annotations could modify its properties more, the width, style of them so that the underline annotations could be added in the distinguishable to the same text highlighted.
A panel to specify the color of annotations, which should have tiles of different colors, should be furnished so that specifing the colors would be easily specified.
Annotations to be displayed should be specified on the color basis so that readers or editors could center contents which they care immediately at that time.

Thank you for the feedback, it will be passed to the appropriate department. In the meantime, you do have the possibilities to enjoy the options concerning the SMS by downloading an application from the Android™ Market.

  • Questions regarding Excel Export from Table

    Hello,
i've implemented the Excel Export described in this blog:
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2006/05/04/enhancing-tables-in-webdynpro-java-150-custom-built-table-utilities
It works fine, but i have 2 question:
    - You have to add your Columns who want to get in Excel in the ArrayList. I have a table with LayoutOption (make Columns Visible/Invisible) and want to get all visible columns in my Excel list. You can i realize that?
    - My Excel List is shown in my existing Browser Window, but i want to open a new Window, how can i do that?
    Kind Regards,
    Christopher

    Hello Cristopher,
    For the first Qst:
Lets think in this way; you have set two column fields invisible and in wdModifyView() check if the columns are visible set a flag and accordingly you can set the header at the getColumnInfo() function.
Preferably use switch case to check the ArrayList selection and adding values to it.
    For the second Qst:
Its all about the Browser property; where you have to set the option New window should be opened in new window. This will work.
+in case of Mozilla; in Tools->option->Tab->new window should be open in
    new window
    new Tab
    +
    Select new window

  • Collapsed groupings in Excel export from FR

I am at a client, they are doing variance reporting. Is there a way coming out that will allow groupings to be exported? For example, their report looks at Current forecast and prior year and then prior year variance. When they initially look at the report the prior year columns are hidden. What they are requesting is to export to excel with the prior year hidden columns collapsed.? Any ideas??
    Thanks!

  • Elgato TV export feature

The Elgato TV2 software that comes with the TV Hybrid tuner states the following -
"There’s no need to be an expert in video formats to decide which one is right for you. EyeTV 2 offers a large variety of intelligent choices, simply pick the one that best applies. How do you want to use the recording? On your iPod? Your PSP? iTunes®? iMovie®, iDVD®, or DVD Studio Pro®? EyeTV analyzes your the recording and chooses the optimum export format based on your choice. Of course, if you are an expert EyeTV 2 also allows you choose your own export settings."
    http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetvmain
Has any one actually used this export feature with iMovie - iDVD -?? In the real world is it as easy as it sounds to export captured TV programs and burn a DVD and play on any DVD palyer?
    Thanks,
    Steve

The digital tuner works perfectly and the picture looks just as good on my mac as the Plasma I own. I am not a video expert but I believe when you import it will maintain the quality. It will be up to you on what format to export the video to. Also I didn't mention it in the original post but you can edit the video within the EyeTv program. The EyeTv hybrid also lets you import composite, s-video, and audio as well as watch analog or digital for $149. I think it was money well spent.

  • Desktop Projector Export Feature? Yeah? Yeah!!

I would strongly recommend incorporating a Projector Export feature in Flash Builder 4. Despite having AIR support, I can't think of a single reason why this couldn't, easily, be done. Doing this now requires that every .swf file be opened manually in the desktop Flash Player and exported as a projector file. Not only that but for us on OSX, we've got to completely enter Windows and do the exact same thing just to get the .exe projector made. I've been developing exclusively in Flex (Flash Builder 4) for over a year now and have never found a reason to return to the Flash IDE. I think a Projector Export feature would be one more thing keeping Flex converts like me from having to work in two IDEs.

I consider AIR to be Adobe's version of Apple's Quicktime. Like QuickTime, users must have the full AIR engine prior to viewing the application. The Projector files solve this issue by simply wrapping up your existing swf within a fully operational Flash Player. Also, there are security issues with some .swf files. I have a project now (web based) that uses xml files in conjunction with an swf file (in an html wrapper). After publishing the web project, it isn't possible to open the html page as the swf will give security errors. (online of course it's fine). If, however, I open up the swf (which will automatically give security errors as well...) then create the projector - that projector will work fine. I can offer this as a desktop version of the app without having to completely author another AIR-architectured Flash Builder Project. It is just about convenience. The .app and .exe versions are simply a convenient way to deliver desktop apps that don't need all the features of an AIR application.

            Ramakrishna Velidandi

    Hi Ramakrishna,
Can you have the user log into a different machine and see if a different installation of the GUI would work?
Another solution would be to have the user export the list to a local file and then open it up directly in Excel. This won't work for pivot tables but would allow them to at least see the data and format as needed.
Note that this also might be an issue with the Office installation. Does an error message appear in SAP or Excel? A few other things to check would be authorizations (both in SAP and the workstation), the event log, and a trace within SAPGUI (which would have to be turned on first).
    Hope this helps.

  • Excel Export Options Window

I am using CR Basic with VB2008. Is there a way to display the Excel Export Options dialog when the user selects to export a report to Excel? I am wanting to do this through code, but is it even possible? This is the same dialog that pops up when you select to export a report to excel from within the IDE.
    Thanks,

The below, are the only exposed export option APIs:
Private Sub ExportReportInExcel(ByVal reportDocument As ReportDocument, _
ByVal fromPage As Integer, ByVal toPage As Integer)
          Dim myExportOpts As New ExportOptions
          myExportOpts.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.Excel

  • Excel Exports

    1) Does anyone have a solution for creating an Excel Export with a chart / graph included?
    2) Is there any way to include formatting in an Excel Export? I'd like to be able to include Borders, Font Coloring, Formula's etc.

    Vega,
What version of ApEx are you running? I know in 2.x you could not export graphs "directly" into excel. However, although I've never done it, I've read documentation from companies that opted to use ApEx over Java and ASP solutions... One practice was to leverage the use of individuals familiar with VBA to format reports exported from ApEx. Have any of those around? ;)

  • Excel export are merging cells for data on multiple lines !

    Hello,
I'm using Crystal Report XI R2, when we are doing an export to Excel with have an unexpected formatting.
For example the value of the name is on 2 lines:
=> So, on Excel the result is on 2 lines but merged. We want to have this result only on one cells.
Remark: if we delete the 2nd lines, because cells are merged we obtain the expected result.
    Proposal A:
Are they any set-up available concerning the formatting of Excel ?
    Proposal B:
Could we run some VBA when we click on Export button to make queries on the Excel ?

When they introduced Unicode support in Crystal 9 (I believe), they had to completely re-write the export routines. At that time, they made a decision to change the functionality of the excel export. Crystal is attempting to remain absolutely faithful to the graphical layout of the report as you see it in the viewer. So it creates merged cell sections, empty columns between columns, and empty rows to give you as close to exactly what you see in the viewer as possible. Unfortunately, the result is typically less than useful. Iu2019ve had several conversations with Business Objects (now SAP) with regards to this when they changed it between versions 8.5 and 10, and they have no intention of changing the functionality as it now exists.
There is a document which is now likely somewhere on the SAP portal that explains what you need to do to obtain the best results when exporting to excel.
The jist of it is this:
Line up all of the columns detail data with thier headers, and make sure that data fields are the same size as thier headers.
Line up all rows (headers and detail rows). (ie: select everything in the row, right click, align tops, and make the same height)
cram everything as close together as possible. zero space in the report translates to zero extra collumns and rows in the export.
the other option is to use the export to data only functionality, but that may not be what you're looking for either.
