Exception in Oracle Trigger in Java

I have a java trigger loaded in my Oracle database. In the trigger, I throw an exception and, when the trigger is run, the exception is caught by the JVM and the following error occurs:
ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: br.com.medisoft.sga.trigger.exception.MedisoftTriggerException: Mensagem DBA-1
The SQL statement is executed in an EJB using JDBC. Is there any method to catch the exception thrown by the java trigger (in the example, MedisoftTriggerException) and it's methods?
The MedisoftTriggerException is an subclass of SQLException.
I tried the following:
try {
} catch ( SQLException ex ) {
I can catch an SQLException, but with the following data:
ex.getMessage () => ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: br.com.medisoft.sga.trigger.exception.MedisoftTriggerException: Mensagem DBA-1
ex.errorCode () => 29532
ex.getNextException () => null.
I want to get the data from exception br.com.medisoft.sga.trigger.exception.MedisoftTriggerException, that was the really thrown exception in the trigger. Is there another way than to use the substring from ex.getMessage() ?
Thanks,
Jonatan Schroeder

  • Trigger a Java method from Oracle

    Does anyone know how I can trigger a java method from Oracle?
    I have a certain Java method in my application which I want to be executed everytime a new record is added to a certain table.
    In Oracle I could use a trigger on insert but what can I do if I want a Java method to be executed after a new record was inserted? Does anyone know that?
    Thanks for your help

    My application is already running, it does not have
    to get started, I just need a method to be called
    from Oracle.well unless oracle is running some sort of java listener in your vm i can't see it being possible.
    either poll for the change, or become incharge of the change, or using the external command system.

    Sure.
    Simply INSERT/DELETE/UPDATE your rows according to the trigger definition.

    hi
    read the following configuration i hope it will help u.
    How to get up and running with WebUtil 1.06 included with Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 on a win32 platform
    Solution
    Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
    here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
    Note: [OraHome] is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
    Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
    [OraHome] with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
    copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
    1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
    and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
    2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
    [JacobStage] is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
    cd [JacobStage]
    copy jacob.jar [OraHome]\forms\java\.
    copy jacob.dll [OraHome]\forms\webutil\.
    The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
    3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
    Open a DOS command prompt.
    Add [OraHome]\jdk\bin to the PATH:
    set PATH=[OraHome]\jdk\bin;%PATH%
    Sign the files, and check the output for success:
    [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
    [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\jacob.jar
    4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
    you may skip this step. Otherwise,
    Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
    connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
    for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
    Open [OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
    out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
    errors.
    Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
    CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
    GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
    CONNECT webutil/[password]@[connectstring]
    @[OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
    -- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
    Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
    grant execute on webutil_db to public;
    5) Modify [OraHome]\forms\server\default.env, and append [OraHome]\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
    to the CLASSPATH entry.
    6) Start the OC4J instance
    7) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
    Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
    It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in
    Note 303682.1
    If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
    full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
    8) Create a new FMB.
    Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
    There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
    Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
    Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
    NULL;
    to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
    Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
    show_webutil_information (TRUE);
    in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
    Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
    9) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
    the "Application Server URL" is empty.
    Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
    http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
    10) Run your form.
    If its Correct/Helpful please mark it thanks.

  • Oracle Berkeley DB Java Edition High Availability (White Paper)

    Hi all,
    I've just read Oracle Berkeley DB Java Edition High Availability White Paper
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/berkeleydb/berkeleydb-je-ha-whitepaper-132079.pdf
    In section "Time Consistency Policy" (Page 18) it is written:
    "Setting a lag period that is too small, given the load and available hardware resources, could result in
    frequent timeout exceptions and reduce a replica's availability for read operations. It could also increase
    the latency associated with read requests, as the replica makes the read transaction wait so that it can
    catch up in the replication stream."
    Can you tell me why those read operations will not be taken by the master ?
    Why will we have frequent timeout ?
    Why should read transaction wait instead of being redirect to the master ?
    Why should it reduce replica's availability for read operations ?
    Thanks

    Please post this question on the Berkeley DB Java Edition (BDB JE) forum Berkeley DB Java Edition. This is the Berkeley DB Core (BDB) forum.
    Thanks,

    Does anyone know the names and locations of the libraries that are likely to be conflicting (if that
    is indeed the problem...)?

    I am using Rational App Developer Version 6.0.1 and getting a connection using
    the below code:
              DataSource     dataSource=null ;
              Context jndiContext = new InitialContext();
              dataSource =
    (DataSource)jndiContext.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/DWM3DDS");
              Connection wsConn = dataSource.getConnection();
    Looks like this exception occurs when I am casting java.sql.Connection object to OracleCallableStatement. Do you have any idea why this might be occuring? Have you encountered this kind of a problem?
    Thanks,

  • Oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException & java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column index

    Hi,
    I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.2.3 and created a ADFBC JSP struts application. I have an entity based viewobject which we have modified, enhance over the years. Some where along this way a bug was introduced in the viewobject that has the following exception
    JBO-30003: The application pool (pkgEmpContExp.amEmpContExpSnLocal) failed to checkout an application module due to the following exception:
    oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException, msg=JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement: SELECT statement here
    ## Detail 0 ##oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation
    ## Detail 0 ##java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column index
    The viewobject query on its own has no indexes. It does have a lot of transient attributes which are populated with Preparestatements and callablestatements.
    If you want I can give the whole stacktrace.
    This always occurs after we insert into this table and we click on another link. If we clear the browser cache, it works properly.
    Can anyone please guide me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    any chance the database table has been changed with the change not being reflected in the ADF BC model?

    Hi,
    I can reproduce this.
    Create a project containing BC4J.
    Create EO's for Emp and Dept.
    Create default views and their Impl and RowImpl.
    Create a Emp1View extending EmpView but joining in DeptEo.
    Set the join sql.
    create a third EmpView - Emp3View and extend Emp2View adding in another Emp joined in on the first Emp.MGR.
    Create a client to create the appmodule.
    Run - this works fine.
    Create a VL between dept and Emp - 1 to *.
    Run - Exception.

    PLEASE ! help me by correcting this error.
    Thank You.

    Presumably you are running this via a browser where the applet is served from the server.
    Applets can only connect back to the origination server and using the name that the origination server was accessed with.
    And that has nothing to do with JDBC, all connections work that way.
    Your driver uses a connection thus it will not work unless it attempts to connect to the server that originated the applet.
    Solutions
    1. Connect to the server
    2. Sign the applet
    3. Modify the policy file of each client that will run the applet. This is not a good idea in an unsecure network.
    Note as well that in an unsecure network is most often a bad policy to have an applet directly accessing a database regardless.

    hello user457523
    I have found the reason to that error.It's because there's a trigger and ext_src_file_nm is populated by the trigger from another column ext_src_file_loc when inserting and I didn't give any value to ext_src_file_loc so ext_src_file_nm is null.
    I have disabled that trigger and now I get new errors.When I traced to a line of Jave code I got missing source file warning,and the source file is also oracle.sql.CharacterSet.java.I can not trace into the source file and then I skipped that code and then I got new errors.I want to know how to trace into the jave code and find what's the matter.
    Thank you very much.
