Exchange Dreamweaver for Edge Animate

I would like to exchange dreamweaver for edge animate... adobe customer care is never available..
I followed their guidelines, but to no avail... any help would be appreciated..

Hi bryantexas1,
I do not know of such an exchange offer. If you are on individual DW CC subscription, you can cancel your subscription and subscribe to Edge Animate separately. Can you post the link on the exchange offer?
For cancelling your subcription, see http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cancel-membership-subscription.html
Thanks,
Preran

  • An object model for Edge Animate

    Is there a published full object model for Edge Animate, showing all the functions and properties that are exposed?
    Would like to know what properties exist for each object, as well as what functions can be called.
    Thanks.

    Hi Preran,
    Thanks.
    Yes, the question is what do you expose to users?
    If I want to know what variable/properties I can access, is there a table or list someplace?
    If I want to know the text string being shown in a text object, what property is that.
    If I want to set the text value of a text object, what function do I call?
    If I want to know the font used in a text box, what property is that?
    Most of your documentation that I have seen so far is more HOW TO oriented, I would say.
    "If you want to do this, do that...if you want to do this, to something else".
    That is helpful.
    But not as helpful as "Here are all the properties you can access, and here are all the methods you can call".
    THAT is also helpful.
    So, what properties and methods are PUBLICLY exposed and available for us to use programmatically, would be very helpful to knowl.
    Edge Animate is a tremendous tool.
    Believe me, we are trying to count on it to deliver some ground-breaking research.
    We just don't want to play trial-and-error with what is there to be utilized, anymore than we have to.
    Thanks, again.
    Keep up the good work.
    Cheers,
    Derrick

    Download templates for edge animate any help please ?

    If you are talking about the templates that Adobe offers, you can find them here:

    Otherwise, a search on web for edge animate templates will probably help.

    how do upload the javascript files for the html edge animate banner to work in my Content Management System module. At present, the html cannot function because the reference javascript files are missing.

    I am not very sure how the CMS manage their content but basically the javascript files need to be in the same folder as the HTML file for Animate content to play.

  • Where is the download link for Edge Animate?

    I installed Edge Animate on my primary work laptop, but now the machine is being serviced.  So I pulled out my second laptop to install Edge Animate and now the download link is not available in Adobe Cloud, what's up?  If I can't install it on my second work laptop I might as well not use the product.

    Hi Galvman,
    Sorry, but WinXP is not a supported operating system and so it won't show up on the apps page for the Creative Cloud when you login from there.
    Edge Animate requires Win7 or later.

  • Have you used Drawscript to create code for Edge Animate?

    Drawscript is an Illustrator extension, http://drawscri.pt/
    Code can be generated into many formats: Obj-C iOS, JavaScript Canvas, CreateJS Tiny, ActionScript 3, Processing, JSON, Bezier Points Array, Archor Points Array, C++ OpenFrameworks Simple and C++OpenFrameworks Shape.
    Made note of this program some time ago and finally getting back to it.
    Looking for anyone using Drawscript to create shapes with code to add to Edge Animate.
    Do you have a working example of Drawscript to Edge Animate or tutorial?
    Thanks for any info.

  • Where are the prices for edge animate?

    Trying to find it on the adobe website is like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. I just want to know if a monthly subscription is available, if so how much and whether there is an outright purchase option. Thanks.

  • Import Edge Animate compositions into In Design

    Hi, how do I import Edge Animate compositions into In Design..? Cheers
    p.s. perhaps i should have added: my main interest is to have the animate project imported to have it load in the adobe viewer for digital publishing. up until now I'd linked the html overlay from the standard Edge app. One of the things that caught my eye under the features for Edge animate was:
    Digital Publishing support
    Import Edge Animate compositions into the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite with Adobe InDesign CS6, or into Apple iBooks Author.
    How I proceed: as per the help/resources:
    Publish as Animate Deployment Package (.oam)
    Select this export option to create a package file of your project for use in other Adobe tools. The following tools support Animate Deployment Packages: Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), InDesign CS6, Dreamweaver CS6, and Muse.
    Select File > Publish Settings.
    In the Publish Settings dialog box, make sure Animate Deployment Package is selected as the publish target.
    Note or change the target directory.
    (Optional) Specify a poster image.
    Click Save to save the publish settings, or click Publish.
    but all i get is
    Content generation error.
    [Error: Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay]

    Here is a walkthrough on Adobe Dev Connectings - http://www.adobemarketing.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/enhancing-your-dps-fo lios-with-edge-animations.html
    The only difference in that walthrough is the reference to in the Publish Settings: in Adobe Edge Animate v1, its now called 'Animate Deployment Package' instead of 'Indesign/DPS'.

  • How to pass javascript variables into an Edge Animate project from HTML

    I have just about got the basics nailed for Edge Animate now - coming from a Flash background it's been fairly straight forward, nice work so far (but more on that later)
    I have had to build a "promoted items" slider for the homepage on one of our sites....previously this would have been a flash animation but, hey ho .
    I originally built it as a jQuery extension/plugin but found it too time consuming to make minor alterations - that's where Edge came in and SEEMED to fill the job pretty well.
    Now for the moment i'll put on hold the whole issue about how we NEED to be able to work with dom-level elements directly on the page (eg, animating divs and images within a ul-li structure which is how these things usually work) and concentrate on the Edge specific issue...
    I've seen a few people asking this same question, but none of the answers either a) work at all for me , or b) are good enough for what I need to do.
    see previous solutions here http://support.muse.adobe.com/message/4658175 and here : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1065343
    My project uses an internal array of data, and while in "preview" mode it works reasonably well.
    in the Stage creationComplete event i have Edge code like, for example :
       var imagesArray = ["images/img1.jpg", "images/img2.jpg", "images/img3.jpg"];
       var headlinesArray = ["product 1", "product 2", "product 3"];
       var subTxtArray = ["lovely widgets", "smelly doo-dads", "purple whatchamacallits"];
       var linksArray = ["http://www.adobe.com", "http://www.adobe.co.uk", "http://www.adobe.net"];
       //variables set to full internal scope, used immediately after this and called from sub-elements afterwards
       sym.getComposition().getStage().setVariable("imagesArrayData", imagesArray);
    this code obviously needs to be changed via the HTML page that is calling it.
    IDEALLY i would have these elements already on the page ( <div><h1>Product 1</h1><img src="....  etc ) and then jquery it to hell to make it look funky. This is how we NEED to be doing it in the future...that way our content is still searchable and findable by search bots etc. Edge will output a "static" version of the page, i tried that, but it won't work for dynamically built objects. There's no way i've found of building an array of Symbols based on the existing DOM structure like you can do in jQuery itself.
    however, in the meantime i'll settle for being able to set a javascript call up somewhere - like the old flashvars solution (which was horrible fudge, but worked as a way to get data into a project )
    i'd REALLY rather not use an internal jSon call .... it's adding uneccessary bandwidth and additional server processing when the data it needs has already been retrieved from the database when the HTML page is drawn - AND it means i need to make sure that the json producing web service gets ported accross to any other projects that use this same "slider"
    i've tried removing the internal declaration and changing my HTML to :
    <script>
    var imagesArray = ["images/img1.jpg", "images/img2.jpg", "images/img3.jpg"];
       var headlinesArray = ["product 1", "product 2", "product 3"];
       var subTxtArray = ["lovely widgets", "smelly doo-dads", "purple whatchamacallits"];
       var linksArray = ["http://www.adobe.com", "http://www.adobe.co.uk", "http://www.adobe.net"];
    </script>
    <!--Adobe Edge Runtime-->
         <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="index_edgePreload.js"></script>
    etc
    but this hasn't worked.
    i'm going to attempt the solution using
    AdobeEdge.bootstrapCallback(function(compId) { ....
    as found on http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1065343
    but this doesnt explain how to set up Stage level variables, rather than targeting a specific Edge property
    Anyone got any ideas? Or do I just scrap the project?
    IMHO : Adobe need to be careful of falling into the same mindset that most of the anti-flash brigade have.
    Please remember that Flash is used for WAY more than just adverts.
    At the moment, Edge will work great as a way to put a simple animation onto the page with REALLY basic interactivity - suitable for a basic advert - but we need our HTML5 animations and scripts to be fully dynamic, data-driven, and portable, and preferably using existing DOM elements.
    One last thing, any chance of a feature to say "my page already uses jQuery, don't import Edge's own outdated version"

  • Edge Animate/javscript API command similar to Actionscript fscommand('quit')?

    Our company recently replaced Flash with Edge Animate due to some major memory leak issues when pulling in dynamic data for our digital signage.
    In Actionscript, it was easy to signal to the digital signage player that the movie was ending with a custom fscommand.
    However, in HTML5, im having issues with how to do this in javascript. I currently do not see anything in the JSAPI for Edge Animate that would allow me to signal a third party player to end and unload the animation that is playing.
    I need to do this because the length of the animation is based on how much XML data I parse. This amount of data can change daily (10 seconds per xml node).
    Has anyone has a similar issue with this in the past and found a solution?
    Or perhaps I'm doing this incorrectly and I should be dynamically be creating the animation based on the available nodes in the timeline.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Hi ,
    We have a timeline complete event in Edge Animate which would signal the completion of the animation. You can add your code for the timeline complete and then perform the appropriate action here.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sudeshna Sarkar

  • Edge Animate will not open in Adobe Application Manager

    Do I have to buy a monthy subscription?

    You do not have to buy a subscription.
    From the Edge Animate FAQ at http://html.adobe.com/edge/animate/faq.html under Pricing & Availability:
    How much is Edge Animate and how do I get it?
    As a limited-time introductory offer, a perpetual, non-expiring license of Edge Animate is available for free. Edge Animate is therefore available to both free and complete Creative Cloud members.
    Edge Animate is valued at $499 USD (perpetual license) or $14.99/month (single product subscription).
    Why is Edge Animate free?
    During the preview period for Edge Animate we received tremendous feedback that helped shape the tool into what it is today. To thank our community for actively participating in the development of Edge Animate we are offering the first full release of the product for free.
    How long will Edge Animate be free? What will it cost later?
    After the free introductory offer ends, we anticipate that future versions of Edge Animate will be available to complete Creative Cloud members, as a perpetual license and as a monthly single product subscription.
    Is Edge Animate only available as a subscription product?
    No. Once the current version of Edge Animate is downloaded and installed, it is available to use at any time, without an ongoing subscription.

  • Edge Animate CC 2014 issue with SVG - Images greater than 1024 x 1024

    Hi, since i updated my Edge Animate CC for Edge Animate CC 2014 i have issues when i import .svg files. Edge told me "Images greater than 1024 may cause unexpected behavior on mobile device" when i import .svg files smaller than 1024 x 1024 ?
    When i publish my animation i have a weird things happening and my image scaling default is 10% instead of 100% when i import. Someone had this issue ? Something we can do ? My images a less then 1024 x 1024 and work perfectly in Edge Animate CC 2.0

    Ok. I've solved. I needed to load some things:
    EC.Parallax.setup (sym);
    The full code (that works for me) is:
    -- compositionReady:
    EC.Parallax.setup(sym);
    // Load Edge Commons
    yepnope({
    load: [
    "http://cdn.edgecommons.org/an/1.1.0/js/min/EdgeCommons.js",
    // Load style sheet for the overlay
    "http://cdn.edgecommons.org/an/1.1.0/css/style.css"
    -- click
    // Open image in spotlight overlay
    // Set up configuration
    var config = {
    width: "1024",
    height: "768",
    type: "image",
    source: "images/dog.jpg"
