Exclusive choice list with Palm OS Emulator

hi,
I try to use an exclusive choice list with a palm os 3.5 and 4.0. (MIDP for Palm 1.0.3)
But my screen show me only the text with a small point in front of it. It isn't possible to determine visually which line is selected!
I haven't find any information about this problem in bug list and I'm very surprised!
Is that a solution?
Thanks
Pascal

[rapazp],
Firstly, I do know that the MIDP for Palm OS 1.0 BETA has not been officially tested on PalmOS 4.0, so you may get some funny rendering issues with the screen. However, you should not get any problems with PalmOS 3.5.
An "Exclusive Choice" List is usually rendered to the screen as a group of radio buttons so you should get to see a couple of radio buttons that you can scroll up or down and pick one choice. Are you testing this on the emulator or are you testing this with the MIDP.prc installed on your Palm device?
Below is some simple source code sniplets using Exclusive Choice List:
List list = new List("Border Style", Choice.EXCLUSIVE);
list.append("Selection 1", null);
list.append("Selection 2", null);
list.append("Selection 3", null);
list.addCommand(BackButtonPressed);
list.addCommand(OKButtonPressed);
public void commandAction(Command cmd, Displayable d) {
if (cmd == OKButtonPressed) { int i = (List)d.getSelectedIndex();}
else if (cmd == BackButtonPressed) { //code to handle the Back button command}
}HTH.

  • Dependent choice list with Idoc Script

    Hi,
    I'm developing a customized component and I have made my own template.
    This is made in *.hcst* extension.
    I use 3 variables dependent (they are choice lists),
    If I put these variables in a checkin profile everything is O.K.,
    but the problem I have using these fields in my template,
    if I select the first variable it shows a javascript error:"setOption is not defined", maybe that is problem because
    I must include the script that contains the function but I don't know where it is located.
    I do exactly what Bex's book says (as follows):
    <$include std_doc_page_definitions$>
    <$include std_html_head_declarations>
    <$fieldName="xCountry", fieldCaption="<b>Country:</b>",
    fieldIsOptionList=1, isInfoOnly=#active.isHcsp$>
    <$include std_display_field>
    <$fieldName="xState", fieldCaption="<b>State:</b>",
    fieldIsOptionList=1, isInfoOnly=#active.isHcsp$>
    <$include std_display_field-->
    <$fieldName="xCity", fieldCaption="<b>City:</b>",
    fieldIsOptionList=1, isInfoOnly=#active.isHcsp$>
    <$include std_display_field>
    <$include std_page_end$>
    the result is the first field with its list options properly filled in, but the second and third choice list do not have values, even if I select any in the first list
    I think the problem could be in some include
    (I do not know if there includes missing, or I forgot something)
    Please help me
    Best regards,
    Juanele

    The setOption function is defined in this dynamic html include:
    query_form_std_script
    There's also a different version defined in this include:
    expired_form_std_script

  • Implementing dependent choice list with internal columns as varchar

    Hi,
    While implementing dependent choice list I created two tables & their views with internal column as varchar(for example: countryName for country table & stateName for states table) instead of int. I couldn't get the DCL working: selecting a value from the dropdown of parent field won't show up only the dependent values of the child field; it will display the dropdown with all values (it will show all values of the States irrespective of the countryname selection). However when I select the internal column as int & visible column as varchar the DCL works fine.
    Our requirement is to use the internal columns as varchar instead of int. Please suggest/help.
    Thanks,
    Madhur

    Hi Shashwat,
    I have done that. The problem is: dependent choice list doesn't seem work is you choose primarykey/foreign key as varchar. It works if I choose the primarykey/foreign key as int. And this key will be the internal column in the views. My requirement is to have them as varchar so that while checking-in content using RIDC API I don't have to provide the int value.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Madhur

  • Get Managed Metadata (Taxonomy) ALL Lists with Columns and ALL Choice Lists with Columns VALUES programmatically

    Hi there,
    How to get Managed Metadata Lists  ALL Columns and ALL Choice Lists Columns that are used in the Site Collection programmatically please.
    Regards

    Hi sharepointaju,
    Managed Metadata list is a hidden list, that you can access it through
    http://siteurl/Lists/TaxonomyHiddenList/AllItems.aspx, then it is similar to other lists, you can use server or client code to interate each field in the list, show the the value for each item.
    For all choice list columns, I'm not clear what you mean in this situation, do you mean to get all choice columns in the site collection, if so, iterate site columns, and lists to get list fields, check whether it is a choice type field.
    This may be not your requirement, please provide more information how you want to get which value.
    Thanks,

  • Newvie: How to simulate J2ME appliations on Palm OS (emulator)

    Hello!
    I wanted to write app in J2ME for a palmtop with Palm OS. On
    java.sun.com I found information that J2ME Wireless Toolkit 1.0.4_02
    runs with Palm OS Emulator. Also the emulators list at (2) said
    that. This was confirmed by the The Lurker's Guide to J2ME (3).
    I installed J2ME Wireless Toolkit 1.0.4_02 and I haven't found such
    an option - there is no PalmOS_Device in a Device pulldown menu. In
    Toolkit 2.3 neither. I have PalmOS Emulator up and runnin' but I do
    not know how to run a java application (J2ME project)
    on it.
    What should I do?
    Thanks 4 help in advance.

    could you be a little bit more precise. Are not all MIDP'a included in Wireless Toolkit?
    What in particular should I download?
    I do not know also how to put the application on the device PalmOS emulator as it runs on rom image files: *.rom.

  • List of email clients/address books that will sync with palm desktop 6.2

    Is there (and if not, I think there should be) a list somewhere of email clients whose address books will sync with a palm Treo (palm Desktop version 6.2)? I have been happily using various palm handhelds for about 6 years now and have been syncing the address book with Mozilla and now Thunderbird  for the last couple years. I currently have an m130, but it's time to upgrade to a "smart phone" as I'm tiering of carrying around two devices. Unfortunately, the Treo requires palm Desktop version 6.2 which is not compatible with the Thunderbird palm sync. I have had the idea that Outlook (which I've never used or been exposed to) will sync with palm, but something I read gave me the impression that I would need to buy some third party software to make that happen, plus the $110 they want for Outlook. I would like to think there are other choices for someone who just wants to sync their smart phone with their email client's address book. It seems that such syncing ability would be esential to palm's sales and that a listing of all such syncing possibilities would be extremely beneficial to sales, particularly for new sales to people aren't already insiders on this sort of topic. The lack of ability to sync with Thunderbird may just cause me to stick with my old m130 awhile longer and give up on the idea of a nice new smart phone.

    View Solution.

    Wow, thanks a bunch! You just saved me from a long, involved, and discouraging search for an alternative. I'm using WindowsXP, palm m130, palm desktop 4.1, Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 and Thunderbird's palm sync conduit palmsync-2.0.0.x-wsm .  I'm wanting to purchase a Treo 700 on ebay, but went to the palm site, clicked on the support link, then the Treo 700, then the downloads tab and it directed me to desktop 6.2, which made me believe I would have to use that to sync a treo 700.
    I do wish that both palm and Thunderbird would talk more about the palm Thunderbird palm sync. Unless you're a real geek or very determined (I'm the later), you're not likely to find out that such capability exists. I can't believe I'm the only one out there who needs to have my email client address book contacts with me all the time, so there has to be others who are looking for this.
    Next stop, ebay - I have a smart phone to buy.

  • ADF BC Attribute with VC of CONTAINS Ignores Choice List on the LOV

    JDev 11g PS 1.
    Objects:
    - A view criteria with attribute defined as CONTAINS (literal)
    - An LOV on that attribute with a default list type UI hint of Choice List
    - ADF Faces query-table based in the VC
    Problem: query-table ignores the Choice List and renders an Input Text.
    Clue: Changing the operator to EQUALS causes the expected Choice List to be rendered in ADF BC.
    If this is documented in the online help or in this forum, it is escaping me.
    Anyone know the best workaround? Set the VC using EQUALS and switch it to CONTAINS in buildWhereClause() maybe?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Frank,
    Thanks for the fast reply and for the bug entry. Unfortunately stopping work is not an option. We've come up with a solution using a query listener that replaces EQUALS with CONTAINS before the query and resets it to EQUALS after the query (otherwise the component draws the text item after the query).
    Maybe you can think of another solution to our requirement: display a single master record in the results table for a master-detail database view. For example, in an altered Oracle HR world, each DEPARTMENTS record is associated with multiple LOCATIONS records (through a DEPT_LOC table). A database view, DEPT_LOC_VW, based on that table also contains the location description and department description.
    Users want to select and then edit (on another page) a department by querying by location. If we represent DEPT_LOC_VW in the query-table component, we see multiple result rows for a single department and that is unnecessary confusion for the purpose of editing a single department.
    So we have created an alternative database view, DEPT_VW, based on DEPARTMENTS only, with an additional column -- LOC_LIST -- based on a function that returns a delimited list of all location codes for that department. This way, the user sees only one department record in the results table (although we lose the location description in the results -- not an issue) and is still able to query based on location.
    A LOCATIONS_VW view contains the location code surrounded with the delimiiter. The DeptVw view attribute LocList contains an LOV based on that database view.
    We want the view criteria to create a query condition:
    WHERE loc_list LIKE '%'||<selected location code>||'%'We thought about some kind of clever use of a subquery using a bind variable:
    SELECT...
    FROM  departments -- not DEPT_VW or DEPT_LOC_VW
    WHERE department_id IN (
       SELECT department_id
       FROM   dept_loc
       WHERE  location_id = NVL(:userSelectedLocationId, location_id);But that bind variable does not show in the view criteria selection list so it will not appear in the query component.
    Thanks again,
    Peter

    I have a Centro/Verizon Wireless using Versamail with accounts established for personal POP and Exchange e-mail synchronization.  The latter account is for work.  Previously I owned a Treo 650p using Versamail.
    When I first installed Palm OS Desktop and synched to my Centro device, it was on a Windows XP home computer, and no Versamail accounts were defined.  First I downloaded and installed the Versamail version which allowed Exchange synchronization.  I exported the Treo650p contacts list to a disk file, and imported it onto the Windows XP home computer into the Palm OS Desktop installed with the Centro-supplied CD.  This synched the imported contacts list to the Centro fine.  After I defined all the POP and Exchange accounts, synchronization with the office Exchange contacts list worked fine, and still does.  Synchronization with the windows XP home computer for contacts seems to still be ok, too regardless of the MS Exchange Versamail account commingling with my personal POP accounts.  Maybe the install sequence is overriding the previous posts' notation that MS Exchange mail definition will override synch with Palm OS Desktop?
    The problem now is I have a different/second home computer that's Vista os.  I installed the Palm OS Desktop and synch with the Treo.  The contacts list is not synching to this second home computer, maybe because I didn't follow the exact same sequence as for the Windows XP pc?  I can still synch my Centro with my Windows XP pc and that includes contacts.
    Is there a way on this second pc to override the MS Exchange contacts override for synchronization without having to go through the exact same install sequence as occurred on the Windows XP machine?

  • How can I create a XMP List with multiple selection

    Hello,
    I try to build my own XMP custom panel. Herefore I need a couple of lists with the possibility for multiple selections (e.g. the choice for one language or multiple languages).
    But how is it possible to integrate a list into a panel? There is no XMPList inside the custom folder. I have experimented with the standard mx:list and an array collection for data binding into the list. But how can I write the user selection into an XMP field? Example: In the List the user choose three languages (DE, EN, FR). Is it possible to collect the choice into a string and to write the result into an XMP standard field (e.g. dc:description)?
    A further question is, if it's possible to use the "HTTPService" to bind an external xml-file with the languages and other informations into the panel or is it only possible to work with an array collection inside the code?

    Hi Markus,
    the FileInfo SDK does not offer a ready-made list component allowing for multi-selection.
    So you would need to implement one using the FileInfo SDK API. Your component "XMPList" would inherit from mx:list and would need to implement the XMPRead and XMPWrite events and talk to the XMP using the IXMPAccess interface within those event handlers.
    Please have a look at the Programmer's Guide, section "XMP Flex components" and at the API description available in "docs" for further guidanc.
    Hope this helps
    Kind Regards

  • Can I share a Reminders list with someone else through iCloud?

    I am wondering if I can create shared lists with my wife (separate iTunes account) in Reminders on iPhone/iPad that we can instantly update through iCloud. We're essentially talking about grocery lists and the like.  (Yes, I know there are grocery apps out there but that's not exclusively what we're trying to do).  We both have iOS 6 or higher.  I have found a few posts related to this question but it appears as though the sharing functionality might have been lost with a recent iOS upgrade.  Not sure though. Could anybody help?

  • Unable to sync with Palm Desktop

    Here's my problem. I haven't been able to sync with my elderly Palm IIIC for about 2 years. Now my daughter gave me her Palm Zire 31. All my data are in my Palm Desktop on my iMac G5. Somewhere along the way I tried using iSync and got a bunch of stuff in my Mac address book. So I did a hard reset on the Palm Zire 31, then successfully hot-synced on my G5. But my nice address from my Palm Desktop file isn't coming over, just the crummy one from the Mac address book I think. My Palm Desktop address file has all the names in categories etc. I have tried making sure I have the correct conduits for syncing with the Palm desktop, and I tried telling the Sync operation to override with the Mac contents. I just want to move all my address data from my Palm Desktop on my Mac to the Zire. Any help here?

    If you want to move all of the address data from your Palm Desktop to your handheld organizer, there is only one way to do it: using the Palm-supplied conduits to do so, not iSync and it's built-in iSync Palm Conduit. The transfer of all of the data from the Palm Desktop, including categories, simply is not supported by iSync or the iSync Palm Conduit.
    The Missing Sync for Palm OS is an alternative, but you have to plan carefully how you do this, as you must first move the data from the Palm Desktop to either your device—or, through an export/import process—directly into both iCal and the Address Book. iCal task data doesn't survive this process, only calendaring data. In either event, categories don't transfer.
    You'll have to perform some manual categorization on both your device and in the Address Book, and iSync will not support these changes. It won't reverse or otherwise modify them, it simply won't synchronize them. This is the case because you must overwrite the data on your handheld the first time you use the Missing Sync for Palm OS to synchronize.
    The Missing Sync for Palm OS will, but only when using Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later, and an advanced Palm device with Palm OS 5.4 or later on board, as I recall. Only the Z22 would qualify, if that contention is true. Here is a list of Palm OS versions tied to specific handheld devices:
    http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=69,E=0000000000412440418,K=2 589,Sxi=8,useTemplate=Case.tem,CASE=10714
    My Treo 600, with Palm OS 5.2.1, does not qualify as an advanced device and does not support categorization in the same manner as later devices do.

  • Can't get a blank entry in Choice List of Values (LOV)

    Using Jdev 11.1.1.3 but will be upgrading to 11.1.1.5 in few weeks.
    Need to display a Choice List that is bound a view object with static data. The List should show a blank item since users don’t need to select any.
    I am able to display the LOV in the page but can’t seem to get a blank item as a first item.
    Here is what I did:
    1.     Created the VO with static data. Initially didn’t include it in the Application Module based on the developer guide sec 5.3 but later added to get it in the data control list.
    (Note the application doesn’t need to use any database and simply is using Web Service but for test I am using a DB)
    2.     To configured the VO, tried to add a View Accessor to the VO, but couldn’t select a data source until I added the VO to the App Module !
    3.     In attributes tab added an LOV and specified the data source. In UI Hints ensure the “Include “No Selection” Item” was selected.
    (Initially didn’t shuttle the attribute to the right in the UI hints.)
    4.     In the List UI hints ensured that “Include “No Selection” Item” was selected.
    5.     Dragged the VO Data control to the page and selected ADF Select One Choice.
    6.     On running the List DID NOT include a blank item !? How to get one?
    In pageDef got:
    <list IterBinding="GenderListVO1Iterator" ListOperMode="navigation"
    ListIter="GenderListVO1Iterator" id="GenderListVO1"
    DTSupportsMRU="true">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Gender"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </list>
    I even added the tag NullValueFlag="start" to the PageDef but no blank entry.
    In Page got:
    <af:selectOneChoice value="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.inputValue}"
    label="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.label}"
    required="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.hints.mandatory}"
    shortDesc="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.hints.tooltip}"
    id="soc3">
    <f:selectItems value="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.items}" id="si7"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    If I don't use the VO and code all items in the JSPX page with a blank item that get a blank entry (didn't test with the Web Service yet since not ready).
    What is the issue with VO?
    ( I am also considering a number of SelectManyChecks on the same page but might be difficult)
    Thanks for the reply.

    Thanks for the hint, but in my case the attribute is not required. I never see a blank entry. The only way I was able to get a blank is to add a blank item to the static list in the VO. The VO XML file has:
    <LOVUIHints
    ListType="105"
    MRUCount="0"
    ListRangeSize="-1"
    NullValueFlag="start"
    NullValueId="LOVUIHints_NullValueId">
    The Include "No selection" item is not working as expected.

  • How to create a 2 column list with bullets

    How can I create a 2 columned list with bullets? When I hit tab button, the whole word and bullet moves. I am trying to create a checklist with 2 columns with a visual bullet in front of specific list items. Thanks for any help! chris

    Why not just use 2 columns?
    Or if they need to stay in step, a table?
    Peter
    btw A tab in a list changes its level, option tab moves it to the next tab on the ruler. A silly choice to make it the opposite of common sense, but they followed the lead of MsWord on this one.

  • Is there a way to import a choice list in multiple (or single) selection fields?

    Is there a way to import a previously created choice list in multiple (or single) selection fields in forms central?

    Hello Dr. Ryan,
    Unfortunately there is no way to move this data into FormsCentral.
    As far as your question about using PDFs with FormsCentral, 'soon' is actually 'now'! You have two options:
    1) Author a new form with FormsCentral. From the distribute tab, save a submission-enabled PDF form. You can send this form out to your recipients and their responses will be collected on FormsCentral.
    2) Import an exsiting PDF form into FormsCentral from the dashboard, and then submission-enable it. Distribute the submission-enabled version and responses will be collected on FormsCentral.
    Thanks!
    Shannon

  • Can't sync Palm with Mac through iSync, only syncs with Palm Desktop

    I have an older Palm Tungsten T3 that I use basically only to run a medical application that I need at work (ePocrates, which has its own conduit and auto-updates itself with hotsyncs). I haven't tried to sync it to my Mac for a long time. I use iCal for my calendaring needs, sync it with my iPod, and ignore the old stuff that's on the Palm, which I hardly ever even sync.
    Today I had to reinstall the Epocrates software, and decided while I was at it I'd try to get the Palm syncing with the Mac (iCal, contacts, etc) again because it would be nice for it to show the same calendar data.
    I reinstalled the newest version of Palm Desktop from scratch. Installed the ePocrates software on top of it. I have iSync 2.4. My Palm was not listed as a device initially. I chose "Enable Palm OS Syncing" from the menu; iSync then went through a series of steps in which it disabled several conduits (presumably to no longer sync with the Palm Desktop), then told me to enable the iSync Palm conduit through the HotSync manager, which I did.
    I now show the Palm as a device on iSync, but it has a yellow caution icon over it and I'm not sure why. Clicking on it shows an options dialog. I chose for the first sync I wanted to erase everything on the device and then sync with the Mac. My syncs appear to work, but when the data is checked it seems to sync only with Palm Desktop. The old junky data on the Palm was not erased as requested. Newer calendar events and contacts from my Mac have not made it to the Palm. The ePocrates auto update conduit is working fine but that's the only part that is.
    Any idea what's incompatible, or what I'm doing wrong here?

    I have The Missing Sync and used it to sync my palm TX. I am now in the process of trying to get iCal going properly again. No longer have any calender views in iCal and the week views don't show until I have opened a month view and then go back to the week view. Very bizzare. Also have a heap of untitled calendar views in the drop down list option when looking at the info on any event - these calendar views are not accessible anywhere else though.
    I'm not sure if it is Missing Sync or something I did wrong at present. Will also throw the problem to the Missing Sync people to see what they say. Will let you know. It seemed to work really well without needing the palm desktop!
