Execption type when Berkely Db is corrupt

I have a persistent queue application and I want to bypass writing to the dbms if it tells me its corrupt. The question is how can i tell the difference between a corrupt dbms and a generic exception?
Thanks Larry

Hi Larry,
RunRecoveryException: a human being should take a look at the stack trace and take appropriate action. The application can simply close and re-open the environment to run recovery, but the error condition may persist and therefore a human being should take a look.
Depending on the underlying cause, which you'll see in the stack trace, you may be able to continue using the database by changing your configuration. For example, if the cause is OutOfMemoryError, you can correct the condition by increasing the heap size.
But if you see DbChecksumException in the stack trace, then you may be experiencing a data corruption because of a file system or disk error. In this case, you may need to dump and reload the data using the DbDump (use the -r or -R options) and DbLoad utilities. Or you may need to restore from a backup. See:

  • Retrieve all values from project type when project type combo box is null

    Hi,
    We are facing a tight situation here. We have a scenario where we have 2 filter options.
    1) Department ID
    2) Project type
    When department ID is selected all the department IDs should be populated in the combo box and the project type combo box should be empty.
    Similarly, when project type is selected all the project types should be populated in the combo box and the department ID combo box should be empty.
    Then, when more than one value is selected from department ID box and all the values from project type must be retrieved from query level (as per business logic).
    How do we do this? Kindly help us with this situation.

    Basically my situation slightly different.
    I am trying to do a bulk insert on SQL Server table using prepared statement, during that time i am getting the exception. I am using JDBC-ODBC driver. However, if i do individual record insertion, it is working.
    Any idea about this type of problem ?

  • FI-CA document type when a print document is created

    Hello everybody,
    We have been searching events (e.g. 0061)/user-exit to change the FI-CA document type when a print document (based on our own logic) is created with transaction EASIBI without success. Maybe you have enhanced something in another project. Can you share you experiences?

  • How to change the cursor type when a TableView class was added to a Swing application?

    We can resize column width by dragging the column divider in the table header. This is a built-in feature of the TableView class.
    Normally, the cursor will become to east-resize (or west-resize) type with positioning the cursor just to the right of a column header.
    However, I found that the cursor is remaining the default type at the same position if I integrate JavaFX into Swing Application. That is adding the TableView to a Scene, and then adding this Scene to a JFXPanel, finally, adding this JFXPanel to the JFrame.
    The sample codes are listing below:
    public class Run extends JFrame {
        Run() {
            setSize(600, 450);
            setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
            initComponents();
        private void initComponents() {
            final JFXPanel fxPanel = new JFXPanel();
            this.getContentPane().add(fxPanel);
            Platform.runLater(new Runnable() {
                @Override
                public void run() {
                    initFX(fxPanel);
        private void initFX(JFXPanel fxPanel) {
            Scene scene = null;
            try {
                scene = FXMLLoader.load(
                    new File("res/fxml_example.fxml").toURI().toURL()
            } catch (Exception ex) {
                ex.printStackTrace();
            fxPanel.setScene(scene);
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
                @Override
                public void run() {
                    new Run().setVisible(true);
    fxml_example.fxml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <?import javafx.scene.Scene?>
    <?import javafx.scene.control.TableView?>
    <?import javafx.scene.control.TableColumn?>
    <Scene xmlns:fx="http://javafx.com/fxml">
        <TableView fx:id="tableView"
                   editable="true">
            <columns>
                <TableColumn text="COL1">
                </TableColumn>
                <TableColumn text="COL2">
                </TableColumn>
                <TableColumn text="COL3">
                </TableColumn>
                <TableColumn text="COL4">
                </TableColumn>
                <TableColumn text="COL5">
                </TableColumn>
            </columns>
        </TableView>
    </Scene>
    So, are there anyone can advise how to fix these codes; make the cursor can change to east-resize (or west-resize) type when this TableView class was added to a Swing application?

    Thanks for the report. I've just filed a JIRA issue: https://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-34009

  • How to see all image types when saving an image without selecting "all files"every time

    <blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>
    Please continue here: [[/questions/951766]]</blockquote>
    Hallo, and thank you for reading this.
    I am a person who saves a lot of images online and renames them in different folders in different names like B - 34 or G - 56. I have been working with firefox 10 for quite some time and it had a pretty handy bug (I guess) where I could save an image and firefox would just save the image in it's original type (JPEG,PNG etc) while "save as type" was empty.
    It also always has shown all the image types in the folder where I save the images (except for GIF) and that helpes me quite a lot by saving me the trouble of selecting "all files" every time I save or going to the folder to rename every image.
    Now this seems to be lacking in the newest firefox versions and my question is if I can set firefox to always show me all the image file types when saving an image, instead of only showing JPEG's when I try to save a JPEG.
    Thank you for your time.

    I suspect this is a Windows problem. I am surmising the FilePicker uses the Operating System or Desktop facilities. Does Windows 7 offer any other file categories like ''images'' ?
    I do not normally use Windows 7, but may the option depend upon the directory being an indexed one, I ask after finding this thread ''Bring File types tab back'' [http://www.windows7taskforce.com/view/819]
    This question is a duplicate of [/questions/951764]
    Normally I would lock the duplicate question, but in this instance I will leave it open as it is unanswered and someone may give a better reply.

  • Changing file type when syncing to iPhone?

    Hello, is there a way to change the music file type when syncing my computer with my iPhone? I would like to store music on my compter as Apple Lossless, but then sync it as AAC to the iPhone. Under the iTunes 10.5.3 Advanced tab, I see that I can select songs and convert them inside of iTunes, but then it duplicates the song in my Library in the new format. I'm looking for a way to do this on the fly during the sync, if that is possible. Thanks.

    I see that setting now in iTunes when I plug in my iPhone, thanks. That appears to be the only bitrate option available, I was hoping to keep them at a higher quality for the iPhone, but not as high as Apple Lossless. Guess I'll just do the conversion in iTunes at 256 kbps AAC, sync those to the phone, and then delete them out of the library on the computer. It would be a cool upgrade to iTunes to have more bitrate options available.

  • Change Purchase Requisition Document Type when item category is D

    Hi experts,
    i have problem, when i put servis number in to the servis line i havent change Purchase Requisition Document Type. Account
    Assignment Category is K and Item Category is D. It is standard of Purchase Requisition? When i set that i can change document type when item category is D.
    When i putting only material i can change Purchase Requisition Document.
    Thx for your answer.
    Laco

    Hi,
    One thing please note that once you select the document type and draft the PR and save the PR, you will  get the doc number.
    Once you get the document number you cannot change the PR document type .
    The reason is document type is linked with number range so it cannot be changed because different seriers of document number is assined to differentdocument type.
    And moreover document type is linked with the screen settings also. So I would request you to check the settings for each doc. type

  • Determination of Production Order Type when Planned Order is Converted

    Hi SAP Expert,
    Is there anyway to determine the Production Order type by Sales Order type when the planned order from APO is converted? Currently, all the planned orders converted from APO will be a Normal Production Order.
    The requirement as example below:
    >> If Sales Order Type = Normal Sales Order, then the converted Production Order type = Normal Production Order
    >> If Sales Order Type = Replacement Sales Order, then the converted Production Order type = Rework Production Order
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Hooi Chia

    Hi Pascal,
    Our requirement is exactly same as yours. Can you please elaborate more on ZXCOXU13? I can see the function module suggested by Santosh in the SAP Note but I couldn't find any details regarding ZXCOXU13.
    Thanks.

  • Default PR Type when convert from Planned Order

    Hi all,
    How can I default my PR Type when convert from Planned Order after MRP run. This can done via MRP Group control but how to go about controlling via Planned Order profile?
    Which planned object type and planned order profile to be used? assuming that i need my planned to be output at LA type and convert to NB1 PR type instead of the default NB PR type?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Andrew

    Hi,
    The system determines the document type from the stettings u are making in "planned order Profile" in Customising for MRP. There u define the order type, the procurement key and the special procurement key and also the account assignment category. So based on the procurement key and the special procurement key maintained in the Marterial master, the document type is selected.
    Production > Materials Requirement Planning > Procurement Proposals > Planned Order > Define order profile
    Choose the planned order type - NB1 Within this you specify the P req doc type to be used.
    Through MRP group and the different PR document type for MRP generated PR is possible only if you assign the document type to MRP group in the MRP configuration.
    Please try and come back.

  • Java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column type when extending VO

    Hi,
    I'm getting java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column type when I'm extending a VO. The VO is the base query for a LOV. I'm not adding any columns, I'm just changing the from and the where. I'm not touching any java code.
    When I click on the LOV torch for the first time it is working fine. But whenever I click on the GO button on the LOV Region it gives an error.

    I had to set Binding Style to Oracle Positional on the View Object declaration (Button of page).
    Saw this somewhere when I searched for the error but it didn't connect...
    Anyways, problem solved.

  • Test Note (Documentation Type) when creating Test Plan

    Hi Gurus.
    After we upgraded our SolMan 7.0 system from Support Pack (ST component ) level 19 to level 25,  I noticed this new field "Test Note" (Dcoumentation Type) when creating a Test Plan in transaction STWB_2.
    Initially, when I haven't chosen any project yet, this field has a list-of-values (i.e. Test Case Note, iTutor Document) but when I choose a project, the list-of-values only showing "ST". I also tried choosing another project and there is no value in the list.
    Does anyone know where this list is coming from or how I can configure this?
    It looks like project-related and but I couldn't find any settings for this.
    Can this field be turned off so it will not show in the screen?
    Thanks,
    Tess

    Hi Tess,
    The documentation type ST is the standard documentation type for test notes.
    Test notes are needed by testers to document results in detail during/after testing a test case.
    In SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN  there is the text menu 'GOTO - Project Template - Implementation Projects'
    and then there to the tap 'Documentation Types' to do the default settings for 'ST' for all implementation projects.
    Otherwise you'll have to change settings in the administration for each project!
    There you can assign your own documentation template for ST in the central settings.
    If you are using other project types for testing you'll have to do the same for each project type.

    Adelbert

  • Why need message type when u create data type...

    why need message type when u create data type...

    Hi,
    A message type comprises a data type that describes the structure of a message. At the following points in SAP Exchange Infrastructure you can refer to the message to be exchanged at runtime by using the message type:
    ·        More than one message interface can use the same message type. For example, an asynchronous outbound message interface and an asynchronous inbound message interface can reference the same message type because the request message does not need to be mapped.
    ·        When defining a message mapping you can directly reference message types to map messages from an outbound interface to messages from a receiver interface.
    For technical reasons, a data type is not sufficient to describe the instance of a message. In XML schema, data types are defined as abstract types that are not yet fixed to an element. You can only describe an instance of a message when you have specified a data type as an element type. Therefore, a message type defines the root element of a message.
    A message type does not define the direction of the message exchange, in other words, whether it is a request or a response. In exceptional cases you can use the same message type for both the request and the response message.
    A message type has the following characteristics:
    ·        It comprises exactly one data type, which determines the content of the message to be transferred.
    ·        It is identified by a name and an XML namespace. The name (together with the namespace) of a message type is located in the uppermost tag of the message to be exchanged. This is an element tag.
    You have defined a message type GreetingRes that references a simple data type of type xsd:string. The XML namespace of the message type is http://sap.com/xi/myExample. The corresponding payload might look like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <ns1:GreetingRes xmlns:ns1="http://sap.com/xi/myExample"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
       Hello Mrs. Miller
    </ns1:GreetingRes>
    You can specify how a message type is used in more detail in the description
    hope this will help you.

  • How to set a customer type when submitting a form

    Hello! How do I set a customer's 'Customer Type' when they submit a form? In other words, I have a form on my website and if a user completes and submits that form, I would like that user to be given a specific Customer Type.
    TIA

    You cant yet.
    Soon though.
    The output for these via liquid will be available in the release later today and hopefully the form aspects will be in the new future.

  • Re-limit file types when I upload

    Hello,
    if I use this script, It will show me these types when I press Browse button
    All FIle[*.*]
    Pictures [*.gif,*.jpg]
    HTML [*.htm,*.html]
    <form name="uploader" action="/saveServlet" enctype="multipart/form-data/*.ram" method="post">
    <input type="file" name="file"/>
    or see this webpage
    http://control.bu.edu/ieee/submit_P.html
    So,How can I force the browser to limit the type of file to be only (PDF)
    it should show me
    PDF [*.pdf]
    Regards

    The HTML spec says you can use the accept parameter in the input tag to tell the client what types you want accepted. What the client (IE/Firefox/Opera) does with it is their business....in my experience what all the major browsers do with it is exactly this...NOTHING.
    So good luck.

  • Step Type when executing mapping

    Hi am a newbee here. I would like to know what are step types when we execute the mapping and if I have a simple map then which one would be the best option?
    We have many options (Row Based, Set Based..etc)
    Thanks,
    Kriti

    Ok... it all depends on what your mapping is doing.
    Set based provides better performance. In the other hand, there's some operators that won't work in set based mode, so you'll have to alter this property to row based. The "Target Only" tag means it will run in the selected mode only in the target database.
    For further info, refer to Oracle Warehouse Builder User's Guide 10g Release 2 (10.2), chapter 15 - Understanding Performance and Advanced ETL Concepts.
    Look for the Set Based Versus Row Based Operating Modes section.
