Executable iterator lost connection to Data Control

Hello,
I am using JDev 11.1.1.4.0.
I am having problem creating setCurrentRowWithKeyValue method call component on a task flow. It just won't let me do it by dragging the the operation, setCurrentRowWithKeyValue(green gear), from Data Control. However, some of the other VO's operation gets created with no issue. After some digging around, I found that the VO that doesn't work lost connection to the data control. This is what I mean:
I create a sample.jsff and drag "FirstName" attribute from NotWorkingVO and drop it there. Go to bindings tab for sample.jsff and you see "FirstName" attribute under Bindings and NotWorkingVOIterator under Executables. If you select "FirstName" attribute, an arrow points to the NotWorkingVOIterator. However, there is no arrow pointing from NotWorkingIterator to any of the Data control on the right.
Go back to Design tab of the jsff, drag and drop "Address" attribute from WorkingVO. Go to bindings tab and select "Address" attribute under bindings. This time the arrow to WorkingVOIterator appears and the arrow from the iterator to Data Control also appear pointing to correct VO, WorkingVO.
With this model, I cannot create NotWorkingVO setCurrentRowWithKeyValue method call component on the task flow, while I can create WorkingVO setCurrentRowWithKeyValue method call component on the task flow.
I do not know why these 2 VOs behave differently. I have compared their setting and properties, but couldn't find any glaring differences.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Bones Jones

Hi,
from your descriptions I don't see an obvious reason for this.

  • Data Control Palette "Execute" Action

    Can somebody explain what the "execute" data collection action does? The documentation states that it executes "the bound action defined by the data collection. In the case of a JavaBean, the Execute options will refresh the data control." I'm looking for a clearer explanation and example of when to use this action.

    Me too... :-)

  • Where to find additional data controls as shown in the WebCenter Dev Guide

    From this book " [Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle WebCenter 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)|http://fmwdocs.us.oracle.com/doclibs/fmw/E10285_01/appslib7/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_svc_intro.htm#JPSDG7276] ", it shows the following Data Controls in the Resource Palette:
    * Kudos Data Control
    * Notification Subscription Data Control
    * Page Data Control
    * People Connections Management Data Control
    etc.
    However, using JDeveloper downloaded from OTN and updated with WebCenter extensions, I only see one Data Control (i.e., Page Data Control) listed under WebCenter Services Catalog.
    If I want to use those additional Data Controls, where can I find them. Note that I'm an Oracle internal user.

  • Custom data control createRowData(DCRowContext ctx)

    Custom data control createRowData(DCRowContext ctx)
    public Object createRowData(DCRowContext ctx) {
    System.out.println("createRowData()");
    DCRowSetIteratorImpl rsi = (DCRowSetIteratorImpl)ctx.getRowSetIterator();
    ARow row = new ARow(new PersonTO(new Integer(122),"Juhan", "Santiago", "223311" ), rsi);
    return row;
    I overrode this method in my custom data control class ( MyCustomDataControl extends EjbDataControl)
    However the returned row is not added to the rowsetiterator. ARow is a custom class which extends RowImpl,
    there i only overrode the constructor. PersonTO is what would be returned by ctx.getRowDataProvider().
    How can i get a PersonTO to be inserted into the rowsetiterator to which the ctx refers?
    Many thanks!

    I know... But at the moment it's the only solution i can see that works.
    I have tested it by executing the EL in my data control to retreive the value from my TF input parameter and it works.
    So basically i am trying to write a DC that will retreive information from another system. As an input parameter of the taskflow, you need to specify the name of that system and it's that parameter I want to pass to my DC. So currently I have something like this:
        public MyDC() {
            super();
            System.out.println("calling constructor");
            String system = (String)get("#{pageFlowScope.system}");
            System.out.println("System: " + system);
            SessionFactory factory = new SessionFactory(system);
            Session session = factory.getCurrentSession();
            System.out.println("init complete");
        }SessionFactory and Session are from the custom java API so don't bother about that :)
    I have tested this and it works but I know it's not the best solution... (that's why I wrote this post)
    Based upon that, is there a better way for passing the system name to the DC?

  • Why has my ipad lost connectivity to the AT&T cellular data network after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2?  My iPad is model #MD367LL/A, 32 GB WIFI + Cellular, about 2-1/2 years old.

    Why has my ipad lost connectivity to the AT&T cellular data network after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2?  My iPad is model #MD367LL/A, 32 GB WIFI + Cellular, about 2-1/2 years old. It;s been working perfectly up until now.  I have no problem on my home WIFI, or through personal hotspot working through my iPhone 5.
    I have worked with AT&T, replaced the SIM card with a new one, and done a backup/restore to factory settings, all with the same result that when I turn Cellular
    Data on, with or without Enable LTE, it goes into "searching" mode, or reports "no service".  My iPhone 5 works perfectly on iOS 8.1.2, on Cellular.  I've browsed the blogs and have tried Apple's suggested fix, all to no result.
    Oddly enough, every once in a while I do get connected to the network for a short ime (minutes), but it always returns to "searching".
    I've filed a report with Apple, along with a request that they contact me, but no results yet.
    Help? (and thank you).

    Hello razmee209.  Thank you for your response.  I spent the better part of yesterday working with Apple Support.  They tried their best, to include backing up photos to my HP laptop, backing up the iPad to iCloud, then resetting the iPad in total.  Same problem.  I restored from the cloud to recover my apps, same problem.
    AT&T installed a new sim card - same problem.  I spent time with AT&T Support yesterday, too.  In both cases, (Apple and AT&T) the support techs who worked with me were extremely polite, courteous and helpful to the best of their abilities, but I think the problem lies deeper, and nobody at Apple is admitting they have a problem with iOS 8, that I'm aware of.
    I didn't have this issue before I upgraded to iOS 8.1.2.
    Everything else with the iPad works fine:  WIFI, Personal Hotspot, email, all my apps, etc.
    In browsing the web for this issue I see that many other folks have the same problem.  I filed a report with Apple this morning, requesting that they contact me, but no word yet.  I was going to go to iPhone 6, and had been considering the iPad Air 2, but I see reports of this problem with those units as well.
    At this point I don't think I'll be spending any more money with Apple, at least not till this issue is resolved.
    Thanks again for your response and suggestions.

    If no change after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, there is a hardware problem.

  • Web service connection problem via web service data control (SOAP/REST)

    Hi
    I developed a simple "hello word" web service that I deployed on Integrated WLS.
    Web service works fine - I tested it from SoapUI.
    I created another application to call "hello word" using  "web service data control (SOAP/REST)" in JDeveloper.
    When I test it via "Oracle ADF Model Tester" application works as I'm expecting, but when I create JSPX page,
    drag and drop webservice method as ADF parameter form and run it receive notification (screenshot):
    "WSM-07620 : Agent cannot enforce policies due to either failure in retrieving polices or error in validations, detail= "WSM-02557 The documents required to configure the Oracle Web Services Manager runtime have not been retrieved from the Policy Manager application (wsm-pm), possibly because the application is not running or has not been deployed in the environment. The query "&(@appliesTo~="WS-CONNECTION()")(policysets:global/%)" is queued for later retrieval. "."
    What I'm doing wrong?
    Why I'm able to access web service from any other application but not from jdeveloper?
    Regards

    Hi,
    I am not sure which JDev you are using, but looks like you have some policies setup for WSDC using GPA (global policy attachment) and your policy manager(wsm-pm) is not running. Can you check if the wsm-pm application is properly deployed in your Integrated WLS. You can see this from the list of deployed apps in WLS console.

  • Problem connecting using VB Oracle Data Control oradc.ocx but otherwise ok.

    I am trying to run one of the sample vb apps DataCtrl that uses the Oracle Data Control (oradc.ocx) to simplify connecting to a database and getting the data into a databound control. I have tried every combination of name/id/pw and get the same error - ORA-12154:TNS:could not resolve service name.
    I have 2 of the sample databases created - "employees" and "demo". Using XE, i can open and view both db's with no problem. Using the ODBC configuration dialog I can configure and test the connection to both and tests ok. I have used programs to convert Oracle to Excel and Excel to Oracle and both find the db with no problem either.
    If I tnsping to XE, employees or demo, the response is negative. The file tnsnames.ora exists in the /admin dir and lists only XE. The file sqlnet.ora has nothing (except comments) in it.
    I have read every bit of documentation on the internet and no help. I just opened "employees" and "demo" again with XE without a problem. However when I try to run the Oracle/Excel conversion programs now, they are now showing the 'name error also. I have tried both the sample VB app and the Oracle/Excel converter programs with XE/employees open and closed and it makes no difference.
    Everything that I have read indicates that you should be able to use the actual db name, ie; "employees". I have run out of combinations of names/ids/pws and hope I can get some help here. Thanks in advance.

  • Parental control = lost connection to server

    If parental controls are enabled -- even if child's use (for example, in Content) is not actually limited -- why do Safari and Firefox lose connection? Error message is "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at [url]" for accounts that are "managed," that is, for which parental controls are enabled. Firefox works fine for all other accounts whether "standard" or "admin." This also happens in Safari: "can't connect to the server "livepage.apple.com"."

    Anyone would help me.

    After upgrading my EX60 from 6.3.1 to 7.1.1 I now receive "Lost connection with control device" and the touch control panel sits in a spinning loop.
    I also reveive the following within the web management interface on the EX60:

    If I downgrade back to 6.3.1 it works again. I have already rebooted and factory reset the entire unit and also disconnected and reconnected the touch panel.

  • Web service based data Control lost it's operations

    HELP!!
    I came back into a Jdeveloper project that had web services exposed as data controls and now the operations and their returns are missing in the Data Control Palette!!
    All I see is the Data Control name, NO operations under them.
    How do I get this back easily?

    Hi,
    the sample was built in 11.1.1.3, which however should not matter. The arguments are not manually added to the metadata. Instead your web service method must have it defined as an argument. ADF WS Data Control then makes sure the parameter metadata is generated as well, when you create the WS DC

  • I've lost my data control palette

    well this is embarrassing
    my JDeveloper 11.1.2.2 seemed to switch roles from "all features" to "java developer" (maybe I did it, but I don't remember doing it)
    so I switched it back to "all features" and everything seems ok except I can't see my data control palette in the application manager view anymore
    I've tried a few things (turned it off and on again, restarted etc...) but to no avail
    have I broken it or am I missing something obvious as usual?
    thanks
    Mark

    Hi Frank,
    I've just tried your suggestion (I let it restart JDeveloper each time) and at first nothing changed, I then tried it with changing JDeveloper to prompt for the role at start up and still nothing, I then closed the application navigator and restarted and then opened Application Navigator, nothing again, restarted it one last time to make sure and as I was staring at the screen the "Data Control" palette appeared a few seconds after the others, have since restarted and it's now there immediately along with the rest.
    Thanks for your help Frank!

    I had to reboot my Ipod touch. I lost all my data and I went into my settings to turn the internet on so I could get everything back and It wouldnt let me turn it on It was just grey. Please help me.

    Sounds like this:
    iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
    One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
    Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
    Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
    Power up
    Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
