Execute owb mapping as a whole instead of giving step by step or skip

Hi friends,
I need a help from you.. Actually i am working with owb 10.2 and db 10.2. I am able to do all the process successfully like debugging, reinitializing and entering the data into the table.
The thing is while debugging,i have to give step or skip to execute the mapping. Now i wanted to run the mapping as a whole,that is,once if i give debug,all the process must execute automatically and data must enter into the table. I need to avoid step or skip process.
how to achieve that?? pls help me out..
Thanks in advance,
Bharath.

Thank you very much for ur reply.
and one more thing, consider, i have two or three mapping to be executed one by one.i.e one after another.
say for an example,i have three stages. stage1,stage2 and stage3. all are inter-related and execute one stage by one.
My job is to debug the stage1 alone. once it finished executing the stage1,it should automatically debug stage 2 and stage 3. and the data must enter into the table in all the stage.
how to achieve this??
Thanks much,
Bharath.Any reason you can't debug them one at a time? Ideally, if you successfully execute stage1, you should have the intermediate data in some table. Resume debugging on stage2 from there.

  • How to Execute a OWB Mapping or a Process from SQLPLUS editor?

    I need to know how can we execute a OWB mapping from SQLPLUS editor or from a Stored Procedure.

    Hi,
    You can use the MDL export/import utility for this, but as you are importing into the same repository you will end up with importing into the same project again.
    So for this you can follow the workaround as:
    ->Take export of the required mapping from the project OWB_B
    -> Rename the Project OWB_B to some thing like OWB_B_1(or any other name), note that you have to rename both logical and physical name of the project
    -> Rename the project OWB_A to OWB_B and if you import the MDL all the objects will be imported to OWB_B then you can rename back the project to OWB_A
    -> Finally rename the project OWB_B_1 to OWB_B (to its original name).

  • Regarding default select clauses executing during OWB Mapping execution -

    All-
    While observing the statements executing during an OWB(11gR2) Mapping execution,by monitoring the session using SQL Developer
    Iam finding the following statements executing multiple times and possibly consuming more of the mapping execution time:-
    SELECT MAX(EXECUTION_AUDIT_ID) FROM ALL_RT_AUDIT_MAP_RUNS WHERE MAP_NAME = :B1
    SELECT SYS_CONTEXT('owb_workspace' , 'workspaceID' ) FROM DUAL
    SELECT nvl2(translate(20040101, 'A1234567890','A'), 'F', 'T') FROM DUAL
    SELECT USER FROM SYS.DUAL
    These statements have no relation to be business logic being implemented.And seem to be generated by OWB default settings.
    Can anyone please let me know how to reduce the frequencey of the above mentioned statements or if possible remove them from the OWB mapping execution.
    So that the mapping would run more faster

    Hi,
    these statement are required to set the runtime audit data. Usually, they do not really impact the performance of a mapping so there is not need to bother about them.
    What causes performance problems is usually the business logic part of the mappings.
    You may purge old runtime metadata manually. Look at the script
    %ORACLE_HOME%\owb\rtp\jrtaudit\owbsys\purge_audit_tables.sqlDocumentation is included.

  • Executing a mapping from sqlplus in OWB 904

    I have used the below syntax to execute OWB 902 mappings as below:
    sqlplus / <<*sql*
    Execute MAP_SOMETHING.MAIN();
    sql
    I deployed the same mapping with new version of OWB 904.. it did not work. What is new syntax to execute the mapping from sqlplus?

    From OWB 9.0.4 on, you must use the execution template to execute your mappings from sql. The template file, that has a brief doc section in its heading is:
    <OWB installation directory>/owb/rtp/sql/sqlplus_exec_template.sql

  • Execute a mapping deployed with OWB 9.0.4 from SQL*Plus

    Hello,
    I could execute a mapping designed with OWB 9.0.3 from SQL*Plus with the next sentence:
    SQL> exec my_mapping.main;
    But now, with OWB 9.0.4, mappings are deployed as functions (in 9.0.3 were deployed as procedures) and they need parameters.
    Somebody know how I can execute deployed mappings with OWB 9.0.4 from SQL*Plus? I don't know the parameters I need to call a mapping.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pedro.

    Well, I've solved the problem with roles but
    I've executed the script called sqlplus_exec_template.sql and it fails at Stage 2 because the next sentence
    l_audit_execution_id := wb_rt_api_exec.open(l_task_type, l_task_name, l_location_name);
    returns me NULL.
    It is not clear the value that the variable called l_location_name have to stored. The script explain that this variable store the physical name of the
    location to which the task was deployed. I understand that this variable have to store the schema where the mapping was deployed. That's right?
    So I called the script in this manner:
    SQL> @sqlplus_exec_template OWBRUN904I OJBHT PLSQL MY_MAPPING "," "," ;
    where OWBRUN904I is the name of the Runtime Repository Schema, OJBHT is the
    schema where MY_MAPPING is deployed, PLSQL is the task type and MY_MAPPING is
    the name of the mapping I've designed.
    Can you tell me why the scripts fails?

    Pedro

  • Executing an OWB mapping from sqlplus

    Hi
    I am trying to run an OWB mapping using the OWB provided script sqlplus_exec_template.sql. Here is the syntax I use:
    @Script\sql\sqlplus_exec_template.sql OWB_RUN_OWNER CODE_LOC PLSQL MAPPING_TI "," ","
    I am able to successfully execute my task when I use the above script. However, when the account pertaining to 'CODE_LOC' is locked, the script fails and gives me an error message that the account is locked.
    Our security standards expect the CODE_LOC account to be locked. Is there a way around it ? When the mapping is executed, does the Runtime repository owner lookup the task from the Code location or attempts to connect to the account ?
    Can someone advise me on whether I can successfully execute a mapping that is deployed to a locked account ?
    Thanks

    Hi
    The only way I can think of is when the account X is locked, to have granted execute on the packages for the map to schema Y which is unlocked and execute the package MAIN procedure/function from schema Y.
    Cheers

  • Execute a mapping outside OWB

    Hello,
    I want to execute a mapping outside OWB. Therefore I want to use this code:
    DECLARE
    l_retval NUMBER;
    l_env WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES;
    BEGIN
    l_retval := mapping_name.MAIN(l_env);
    END;
    The problem I have now is that I don't know how to fill variable l_env.

    LS,
    Try this one from SQL*Plus (got this from André Deumers, Oracle NL):
    "set verify off
    set feed off
    set term on
    set serveroutput on
    WHENEVER SQLERROR CONTINUE NONE;
    accept mapping prompt "Please enter mapping name: "
    DECLARE
    RetVal NUMBER;
    P_ENV WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES;
    BEGIN
    -- Initialize Parameters
    p_env(1).param_name := 'MAX_NO_OF_ERRORS';
    p_env(1).param_value := '0';
    p_env(2).param_name := 'COMMIT_FREQUENCY';
    p_env(2).param_value := '999999';
    p_env(3).param_name := 'OPERATING_MODE';
    p_env(3).param_value := '1'; -- ROW_BASED
    p_env(4).param_name := 'BULK_SIZE';
    p_env(4).param_value := '999999';
    DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Procedure start: ' || to_char(sysdate, 'dd-mm-yyyy hh24:mi:ss'));
    FOR i IN 1..p_env.COUNT LOOP
    DBMS_Output.Put_Line(p_env(i).param_name || ' = ' || p_env(i).param_value);
    END LOOP;
    RetVal := &mapping..MAIN ( p_env );
    CASE WHEN RetVal = 0 THEN DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Result Successful');
    WHEN RetVal = 1 THEN DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Result Abort');
    WHEN RetVal = 2 THEN DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Result Error');
    ELSE DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Result Unknown?');
    END CASE;
    DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Procedure stop: ' || to_char(sysdate, 'dd-mm-yyyy hh24:mi:ss'));
    END;
    set verify on
    set feed on
    If you want to execute something like this from PL/SQL, so not necessarily from SQL*Plus, give us the question, I'll give you some source.

    André

  • Execute main function created by OWB mapping

    Hi,
    If any one has sample code to run the main function created by OWB mapping?
    I try to execute the mapping from sqlplus. But I don't know how to compose the WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES input parameter.
    Thanks for your help.

    Please refer to the sql_exec_template.sql file which can be found under the <owb_install>\owb\rtp\sql directory.

  • How to execute a mapping based on an event

    Hi
    I am on OWB 10.2.0.3. and Oracle 10.2.0.2. I have a mapping which is fine, deploys well, I can execute using the control manager.
    I also created a schedule module in OWB, created a schedule for a specific date and time and also an interval, configured the mapping to this schedule. The mapping gets executed successfully at the scheduled time.
    The requirement is this mapping needs to be executed by an external process (oracle but a different application in a different machine). The team owning this process is ready to insert a record in a table. Which I want to sense and execute this mapping.
    I already have created a procedure so that this mapping can also be run from pl/sql. I can create an after-insert trigger in this table so call this procedure, but that will make the whole think synchronous and the external process will have to wait for this mapping to complete to proceed further which is not acceptable by them.
    Is there a way I can check for the record in this table and exec the mapping from OWB?
    Can somebody please help and provide me pointers how I can schedule a mapping based on an event (insertion of the record) without (preferably) or with Oracle Workflow.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Maruthi

    Thanks Detlef,
    The problem I have is the trigger will make it actually synchronous with the process that inserts the record in the table.
    Even if I define the trigger as AUTONOMIUS_TRANSACTION, both the process will not parellel. setting this I can have commits and rollbacks in triggers but they will be synchronous. I want this mapping to run asynchronously so that the main process inserts the record and continues with the rest of the process while the mapping can be executed independently.
    For this reason I am looking for something which will allow me to do this without a trigger on the table.
    As mentioned in your refereed post, I can use CDC, but not sure how good is CDC and will this be an overkill to implement and use CDC for this purpose. Any simpler solution available?
    Any inputs please?
    Thanks once again!
    Regards,
    Maruthi

  • Error while Executing the mapping

    While I am executing the mapping this error is thrown by the server. It is big mapping and references many parent tables.

    This seems to be a DB server error, not an OWB issue. You should contact Oracle support.

  • URGENT: OWB MAPPING

    earlier at the time of deployement i was getting the warning
    "LD-2771: System privileges may not allow extraction from source TB_WINE_PRODUCTS."

    Hi Kunal,
    VLD-2771: System privileges may not allow extraction from source TB_WINE_PRODUCTS means that OWB can't determine whether you have sufficient rights on the source you're trying to read. Check if priviliges are correct, if so this message can be ignored.
    More important is ORA-06508, this implies the mapping cannot be found. I don't know how you run this mapping, if you use the SQL template or RUN_MY_OWB_STUFF, check whether you used the right parameters (like location).
    Good luck, Patrick

  • Problem in OWB map for source change capture

    The problem is as follows:-
    Our OWB map between two different databases, captures change in data at source and populates them in target. It is a one to one map. The map is failing to process some rows from source database though it gives no:of errors as 0 in the audit view thus we infer that the map is running successfully.
    In our case, we have a composite key ( Instance_id, Version_number) at source as well as target. One instance_id can has more than one version number. We have observed that the view is picking up all the version_number for a particular instance_id but the map is unable to populate the last version_number to the target table.
    But when this map was executed in another environment and it is successfully populating all the data in the target.
    The brief description of the map is as follows:-
    The map has a view which captures all the changes in data (insert and update) .From this view we filter the rows which were already processed in previous map run (with help of watermark). Then we sort the rows based on DML type and watermark . These rows are then mapped to a target table. The loading type of the map is INSERT/UPDATE.
