Executing .sql scripts file from command prompt

I had created the .sql scripts for
--Create Database
--Create tables
--Create Stored procedure
I am using SQL server 2008.
Now i want to deploy it into the target server using the command prompt.
How can I call to execute that script on the target server?

with few errors as "Incorrect Syntax near "GO"".

GO is a command, which is only known & interpretted by SSMS + SqlCmd.exe; SQL Server engine / data access components don't know this command, therefore you get an error.

Query Options Execution (General Page); for SSMS you can change it from GO to any other term.

I need to call a sql script file from a user defined function. Currently i am trying to do this in Oracle SQL Developer. i tried calling with
@ {filename}, EXECUTE IMMEDIATE etc, but nothing worked. I get the Compiler error.
Basically my need is to call catldap.sql file so that DBMS_LDAP package gets loaded and then I can call the API functions from this.
Please let me know if this is possible doing in a PL/SQL function.

All SQL and PL/SQL are parsed and executed by an Oracle server process. The SQL and PL/SQL engines each expects a single command block at a time. Neither of these can accept a series of separate commands as a single call and then execute each in turn. The SQL engine expects a single SQL statement at a time. The PL engine expects a single PL/SQL anonymous block at a time.
This server process also cannot break into the local file system to access script files. Nor can it hack across the network to access script files on the client.
In order for the server process to access local files, a directory object needs to be created and the current Oracle schema needs read and/or write access on that directory object. As sound security principles apply.
There's no PL/SQL command to execute a script. You must not mistake SQL*Plus commands (this client has a very limited vocabulary) with PL/SQL commands. SQL*Plus executes its own commands.. and send SQL and PL/SQL commands (a statement block a time) to the Oracle server process to be serviced and executed.
It is also a very bad idea to execute external script contents from inside an Oracle server process - as that script resides externally and thus outside Oracle's security mechanisms. This means that is is pretty easy for someone to access that script, compromise it, and then have you inject and execute the contents of that script into the database.
It is not sound security.
Last issue - it is even worse to have application PL/SQL code dynamically creating (or trying to create) portions of the Oracle data dictionary and PL/SQL call interface.
The database needs to be installed correctly - and this includes loading and executing the required rdbms/admin scripts during database installation. It does not make sense at all for application code to try and execute such scripts. It raises numerous issues, including having to allow that application code full and unrestricted SYS access to the database instance. A very serious security violation.
I do not agree at all with the approach you want to use.

You can't. The commandline parameters for Acrobat and Adobe Reader do not allow any type of commands to be run.

Run multiple SQL*Loader control files from command prompt

I have written control files for 15 different tables with specific data files for each table. I have build the control files using toad for each one of them at once. Now I want to run the sql loader for all the tables one time. I know I cannot run multiple files from toad and not sure If I can run from the command prompt.
Please let me know If I can.

Having problems trying to run a sql script using the command prompt.

I place my script at the root c:
open run SQL Command Line.
I connected to the database using connet userid/password
Then I tried to execute the script by doing
@test_add_comments
I am getting the error message.
SQL> @test_add_comments
SP2-0310: unable to open file "test_add_comments.sql"
Am I suppose to place this sql somewhere else?
test_add_comments.sql is

I figure it out.
open a sql worksheet and enter the falling commands in the run script.
@c:\your_script.sql
Execute it by clicking run script.

I am using forms6i.Basically our application was migrated from 4.5 to 6i two years back. Due to some reasons our technical team members are insisting us to store the template FMB's into the database to do the coding activities at site.
Once in a month we are receiving the live dump for test database.Hence the problem.
Please suggest the easiest way to store the template FMBs in the database.

You can create an environment variable called "SQLPATH" which is a list of directories that SQL*Plus will search for your .SQL
scripts.
I would like to use another directory than the oracle/bin...

Save odm_script.sql file to the default Oracle
directory i.e. Oracle-Home/bin and Run following command
through SQL Plus.
SQL>@Script_Name

Executing mysql script file in java

I am working on a research project that involves the creation of anywhere from 50 to 200 MySQL databases at a time. So far I am able to execute CREATE DATABASE commands successfully using the Statement.execute() command.
So onto my problem.....
I have the script files needed to create the tables for each database, but I cannot figure out how to run them through java. I am trying to execute a SOURCE /file_location/ statement, but I am getting "you have an error in your mysql syntax....".
Does anyone know if there is a way to execute a script file from java?

You mean to say that you have websphear application server (WAS) installed on Windows NT machine. Can you please share how you have deployed your application on WAS. The problem might be just because of configuration. What error/exception you are getting when you run application in WAS.

File Ownership while executing sql script from stored procedure

We have a test_command.sql script which is spooling the result into a file. From database we have one Store Procedure(run_sql) which is
calling and executing the .sql script.
When we are calling the sql script directly from the database, i e SQL > @/dccops/test_command.sql it is creating the
file under the Ownership of OS user which is connected to the system.
The problem we are facing is when we are executing the stored procedure i e exec run_sql(), the file is creating under
Oracle User.
Could u please suggest me a solution inorder to create the output file under the user who is logged to the OS.

Oracle has Pro*C which allows Embedded SQL in C. There is also OCI (Oracle Call Interface) to call Oracle directly in C, and there is OCCI, to do the same in C++.
Apart from that, Oracle has Ole DB for Windows platforms, to allow for a .NET compatible interface to Oracle.
There is NO NEED AT ALL to call PL/SQL to run a SQL script.

Well I will be gradefull if I have an answer to the follow questions
a) How can I connect to a remote XE using sqlplus (command line)?
for example I'm trying to connect like this : sqlplus sys/syspassw@//remoteserver:1521/xe
and I get responce from server that I have to connect as SYSDBA or SYSOPER, so what is the proper syntax in this case?
b) I want to execute a script file with DDL commands from Windows conscole using sqlplus. Inside this script I have the connect command and others. Is there a way to pass the name of script file as parameter to the sqlplus and execute it ? If yes what is the proper syntac from command line of Windows?

There are two ways to do that...
Either use the spool command in sqlplus, or on your command line calling sqlplus use a >> to direct the output to a file. Usually the spool is cleaner.
It goes like this:
spool C:\logfile.txt
{sql commands here}
spool off
or
sqlplus /nolog @sqlfile.sql >> C:\logfile.txt
The output will be formatted slightly differently, and if you use the DOS method you won't be able to see the output as it's running.

My example below, using just the SMO and not breaking up the batches, the ExecuteWithResults give the following error when the .sql file contains a GO. My script files are as simple as a DECLARE and then a GO.

Test Execution hangs while executing a test from Command prompt option

I have done the following
1) Created a script Test driver
2) Added different scripts as Script->Properties->Assets to the driver script
3) Call each of this asset script from TestDriver using command getScript("<<ScrptName>>".run(1, true, true, true);
4) Now calling this TestDriver script from command prompt with command

The script execution hangs at "Initializing VU 1 for Script TestDriver. After few mintues of seeing this message i get error "Execution Timed Out".
Do I need to keep openscript UI open for script execution from command line ?
Is there any way to increase this Execution Time out ? May be it is taking time to load the internal script assets. AS other scripts are running fine on the same machine from command prompt itself.

Hi ALL:
I have a Java Swing APP. It has Menus which displays information through File I/O in a JEditorPane.
When I run my program from Command Prompt using "java myApp" it shows these RTF Files as it is.
However when I run them after converting Directory into a Executable JAR FILE, it fails. I get a blank JEditorPane. My RTF files are in the CORRECT PATH, just dont get displayed. Rest of the APP works fine.

Call an ABAP program or a function module from command prompt/python script

Dear All,
I want to call a function module/ABAP program from command prompt or a python script.
Let me explain with an example.
There is a function module "z_add" that takes two integers as input parameters and generates their sum.
the sum is the output parameter.
Now i want to call this function module from command prompt / python script and pass parameters to this function module.
In return i must get the sum(i.e. the output of function module).
I tried using STARTRFC ,was able to call the FM but could not get the return value(output) from FM.
Can you please provide me the code of such a function module and the method to call it thereby passing parameters and getting the sum.
