Exit Button on Control Bar Working?

Holiday greetings to all.
The Exit button on the playback control bar (X) does not do
anything at all, much less exit the application on Chrome, Firefox,
or IE. Hover the mouse over the button, and the tooltip says
"Exit". But if this executes any action at all I can't figure out
what it is.
I tried to do a search on this, but entering Exit into the
search box seems to crash the web page, so I can't find out whether
this is a well known issue, and whether there is a workaround.
Thanks for any help.

It isn't designed to work in a web page, so far as I know. If
you publish as
exe, it works perfectly. You can turn off the exit button in
the skin
dialog.

  • Play and plause button and control bar are missing belw xfinity player

    when watching video, can not see play and pause button and control bar, it is missing below xfinity player.

    Ok BE...I took you advice and used a prebuilt skin, but tweeked it to get it looking how I wanted. However, now when I switch between the different videos, the playhead stays at the spot that it previously was. For example, if the playhead is currently 50% through video #1 and I click video #2, the playhead is still sitting at 50%. How would I reset the playhead to the beginning of the new video?
    import fl.video.*;
    var flvPlayer:FLVPlayback = new FLVPlayback();
    addChild(flvPlayer);
    flvPlayer.skin = "MySkin.swf";
    flvPlayer.skinAutoHide = true;
    flvPlayer.skinFadeTime = 300;
    flvPlayer.x=78;
    flvPlayer.y=89;
    flvPlayer.width=640;
    flvPlayer.height=360;
    flvPlayer.source = "flv/Video1.f4v";
    vid1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToSetSource1);
    function fl_ClickToSetSource1(event:MouseEvent):void
    flvPlayer.source = "flv/Video1.f4v";
    vid2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToSetSource2);
    function fl_ClickToSetSource2(event:MouseEvent):void
    flvPlayer.source = "flv/Video2.f4v";
    I know I need to do something in the setSource function, but don't know how.
    Thanks.

  • Play and pause button and control bar are missing below xfinity player

    when I want to watch a video noticed play and pause button and control bar are missing below xfinity player.

    For the two soundchannel sounds you have, you will need to keep track if and which one is playing so that you can use some logic to stop the sound right after you mark where the sound was (position)  so that you can resume playing it again when the play button is selected.
    So if the stroke sound is started, you could assign a boolean variable named something like 'strokeplaying' to be true (setting the other sounds similar boolean false).  Then, in your pause function you would test to see if strokeplaying is true and if it is, store the position property and stop the channel playing.
    When play is selected, similarly, you test if that sound is true and if so you restart it using the position value you stored as the starting point.  You do the same for the other sound... remembering that it is possible neither is playing when pause it clicked.

  • Exit Button script won't work in Adobe Reader 8

    Hello,
    I have this code on Exit button for pdf form:
    app.execMenuItem("Close");
    Or
    to give warning before Exit: Have a second RealExit Button hidden to execute the code
    var answer = xfa.host.messageBox("Are you sure you want to Exit?","Warning Message",2,1);
    if(answer==1){
    RealExit.execEvent('click');
    I tried both the code one at a time but no luck in Adobe Acrobat Version 8, works like a charm in Adobe Acrobat 9
    I would like the user to click the Exit button if they choose to exit. However it doesn't work in Adobe Acrobat 8 but works in 9 version. Is there a work around? Any suggestions???
    Thanks

    This answer may not be a big help but sure will give you some level of understanding....
    Check the URL>>>http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402673.html
    Check the section "PDF Forms-related issues:" starting mid page.....
    Not all releases/versions are good. Some releases tend to have some bugs...the version you tested could be one of them. Adobe always recommends to be on the latest version. If client still on older version that is client's problem especially there should not be any restrictions on upgrading to Latest version when the software is free!

  • Exit button code not working in FireFox

    Hi,
    I am writing a code on exit button , but it is working in IE
    but not in FireFox---
    code is :
    import flash.external.ExternalInterface;
    ExternalInterface.call("window.close","");
    Also I tried this:
    var urlString:String = "javascript:window.close();";
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(urlString);
    navigateToURL(request, "_self");
    Please tell what to write so that My Exit button works in
    FireFox also.

    have you confirmed that this javascript code ( only
    javascript code in html, no swf) works?
    in some cases the window.close() statement works only for
    popup windows. so make sure of it.

  • Track control bar

    does anyone know how the track control bar works with Mackie Control?
    how can I decide which group of tracks should be displayed in mackie control?
    in my situation I have a totally unpredictable behaviour of what is colored and what is not. how can I change this
    thanks
    Jacob

    Wheat I agree entirely with your last sentiments.
    I had a similar problem to 'Luckydog'.
    I have a Roland HP3 digital piano which itself is a standalone musical instrument (synthesiser if you like) but also has midi in/out and audio in/out.
    I made the mistake of connecting my Mac PBG4/GB2 setup to my HP3 via the Edirol UM2 USB interface, expecting to hear my piano's sounds recorded in GB2. Of course GB2 did not record anything when I selected real instrument track beacuse the Roland, I think, was sending audio not midi data to GB2. What I have since realised is that to record a real instrument whether it be a digital piano (or acoustic piano via microphone) is to set the GB2 input to audio and feed the signal from the Roland via its audio outputs to my Mac via audio interface. (I have a USB Grifin iMic).
    Of course I could use the Roland purely as a midi controler and select a software instrument track in GB2, but I also have a Radium 49 simple midi controller keyboard for that.
    One thing that does puzzle me though is, that if I hook up my Roland via the UM2 to a WindowsXP laptop running an app. called Cakewalk Music Creator, the Roland sounds are recorded in the timeline and can be viewed, edited and printed as conventional music scores(great for composers!!) Also the Roland track recorded in CMC can be played back through the Roland's on-board sound generator.
    In this scenario there is no audio feed between the Roland and the PC only two way midi via the UM2 USB/midi interface.
    This is seems to be a fundamental difference between GB2 and the Cakewalk product. Can you explain what's going on hear Wheat?.
    Sorrry such a long post !!

  • Control bar exit button

    I'm experiencing problems with the exit button on the Captivate 4 control bars.  When in preview mode, when the "Exit" button is selected, the swf file closes immediately, but the htm page prompts the user and asks the following " The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window.  Do you want to close the window?  I'm fine with that.  However, when published, only the swf file closes.  The htm file does nothing.  The user has to select the "Exit" button on the browser window to close the project.  Why does the Exit button not work when published as an htm file?  Is there a way to resolve this problem?

  • Can you customize a control bar button function

    I am a content designer, not a programmer, but I do like to
    tinker.. and NEED to figure out how to change where the control
    bar's EXIT button takes the user. I post my courses in the Pathlore
    LMS, and right now, if somebody clicks the X on the control bar, it
    closes Pathlore.
    I want it to just either close that window, or take them back
    to the previous screen but I see no way to do that with the control
    bar control, or in the SKIN. Right now, Captivate assumes that all
    users watch the movie to its end.. they do NOT.
    A thousand thanks, the crabby programmer where I work told me
    to figure it out for myself but I am a designer, not a programmer,
    and feeling very lost and frustrated with Captivate right now.

    A thousand kisses to Dilbert. I think I know enough Flash to
    figure this out. Just pointing me in the right direction is a
    wonderful thing.. why doesn't Adobe/Macromedia publicize this
    more??? I thought this program was supposed to be for mere mortals.

    Sorry, I did not understand what you mean.
    The ring control lists all the controls you have on the panel, and usually there is a QUIT ot EXIT button. You may want to select this one.
    What this ring control does is equivalent to setting the ATTR_CLOSE_CTRL programmatically, i.e. you define the ID of the control for which a commit event is generated when you select the Close item in the Windows system menu.

  • Does the "Exit" button on the captvate playbar works?

    Hello there..
    The Exit button on my captivate play bar is not working?
    Any reason?
    tnx.
    Kartik.

    Hi there
    Sorry, but I have to disagree. The real answer here is that it's not as simple as that. Sure, sercurity restrictions may be one possible cause but the causes are many. It's my own understanding that it often has to do with the way the window presenting the Captivate was opened to begin with.

    I don't know how it happened why, but the icon for rotation lock is missing from the control bar. Second problem, the passcode for my iPad isn't working. I wrote it down, so not sure what the problem is. HELP

    If the setting for the rotation lock is missing it is because you are using the side switch to control the rotation in Settings>General>Use Side Switch to>Lock Rotation. The software switch in the control center should be for Muting system sounds.
    you have to restore the iPad in orde to unlock it now.
    iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong ...
    If you are sure that you are entering the correct passcode, reboot the iPad and then try again and see if it is accepted.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Exit button on Playback Control

    I'm using Captivate 1. All of the buttons work except the
    Exit button on the Playback Control. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    TILOTOHA

    TILOTOHA,
    If the Exit button on the playbar isn't working, I'm afraid
    there's not much to be done about that. We have no control over the
    functionality of the playback controls.
    That said, are you previewing the movie from a web server?
    Previewing locally or from a network drive imposes security
    restrictions on the browser and the Flash Player, which is the
    cause of most "it doesn't work" reports in these forums. The only
    way to truly know if something is working is to test your files
    from a web server, where the security restrictions are much
    lighter.
    Everybody Else,
    I'm assuming you're adding your own Exit buttons on the last
    slide? If so, there may be a better way. As most folks probably
    know, the "correct" way to close a window at the end of a project
    is to go into the Project Preferences and set the action for the
    Project end options to "Close project". This usually works.
    As a backup, you can also insert some Javascript code in the
    slide navigation for the last slide in your project. This will
    "double your chances" of being able to close the window, without
    the user having to click anything:
    1. Double-click the last slide and on the Slide Properties
    dialog, select Execute JavaScript from the Navigation dropdown.
    2. Click the Ellipses (...) button to the right of the
    JavaScript field and on the Javascript dialog, type the following
    code:
    window.top.opener = window.top; window.top.close();
    The extra bit of code at the beginning is an attempt to
    prevent IE from asking the user whether they want to close the
    window. It may not actually work, but it doesn't seem to do any
    harm to leave it in.
    Jill -
    If the slide navigation thing doesn't work for you, the
    "button" solution is simply to add a button to the slide,
    double-click to view it's properties, change the On success action
    to Execute JavaScript and then enter the code as shown
    above.
