Exiting an Aware Piece

Hey Guys and Gals
I know that it is possible to use ExitIcon to capture the
exit command and perform tasks before closing the piece, but is it
possible to fully disable that "X" in the upper right corner of the
program, either by turning it off or disabling it?
The only way I want the user to exit the program is through a
button I make. I know it's possible to disable the title bar
altogether, but I would like to keep the title bar, just not the
"X"
Thanks for the help

I've disabled the X using code from WinAPI. I'm not sure this
post is
exactly what I used, but as long as it works...
http://ls.kuleuven.ac.be/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0710A&L=aware&P=R370
This won't work on a Mac.

  • Exiting an Aware .exe file

    Hey guys,
I'm working on this Aware piece, and there are a few "clean
up" tasks that I want to occur when the user exits. However, I
can't figure out how to make those tasks happen unless the user
clicks "File > Exit". Is there any way to trigger something to
happen if the user decides to X out of the program instead of using
    the "File > Exit"?

Check out the ExitIcon variable in the Help files.

  • User exit in Z program

    Hello all,
I have copied a standard program to a Z program.
The standard program as a user-exit, but in the Z program this user-exit won't work. Does anyone know what i have to do so it will work?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nuno Silva

    Hi
User exit is similar piece of code wirtten in the funtion module.
so if you copied a standrad program into a Z program the user exit will get triggerd if it not got triggred. Copy that function module into a Z funtion module and try to call that Z functionmodule in your Z program.
    Regards,
    Kiran.

  • Programme works on Windows hangs on Sun Solaris(8) 5.8

The programme works fine on Windows but hangs on Solaris 8(5.8).
The programme hangs after processing of files is done .
Yes my programme has Synchronization and threading.
The code waits on a method.
    engine.GetName().equalsIgnoreCase(name)
the GetName is Synchronized method , if i remove that synchronization it waits on the next synchronizatoin.
It seems like the locks on the Synch code are not getting released.
The same programee does not hang on some solaris machines but takes almost 8--9 minutes to exit from that piece of code and safe shutdown of the process on similar configuration machine.
1)My Question is it a patch issue ,If yes what are the patches I should have for sun solaris8(5.8)
2)Anything to do with the Environ??
    3)The compilation etc??
Let me know your answers I can definitely provide more Clues.
    Ani

The programme works fine on Windows but hangs on
Solaris 8(5.8)....And this leads you to believe it must be the OS fault and not your code's fault?
Maybe you have a race/deadlock condition that just so happens to manifest itself when you run it on Solaris because of different processor timing. I'm suggesting maybe it could also hang on Windows, given the right timing condition.

  • Time and GPS data windows

    Hello all
I was presented this sample 1080 frame and was asked if I can do this if time and GPS metadata were part of the video recording. In other words, how do you burn in this data in the video itself. I have P Pro CS 6 @ home and am a complete novice to video editing. Final product may or may not need this, more curious as to how its done - special camera system or in post processing?
    Thanks!

If whoever shot the video recorded time of day timecode synced from a GPS receiver that was close to the camera (in your case that looks like it would mean mounted in the helicopter), you can use the time code data to match your GPS metadata to the video. I use an automated process to incorporate the the metadata into the video, but the process is all done with custom software that the CEO of our company wrote. The other people I've seen incorporating GPS metadata into video are also using customized, proprietary processes. If you're adding the data in post, you will have to translate the data into Premiere titles or After Effects text keyframes or something else that you can overlay on the video.
You can also use hardware during your shoot to overlay the GPS data onto the video. I don't use any products that do this, and I don't know how easy they are to find for purchase, but there definitely are people in the geospatial sector who feed video through a GPS-aware piece of video processing hardware that overlays time and position data in real time. In this case you would feed video (most likely through HD-SDI) from your camera to the GPS overlay hardware and then to a recorder.
There certainly aren't any GPS features built into Premiere Pro. If you want to add titles manually, you'll have to match the time code with your GPS data and make a new title each time the GPS info is supposed to update. GPS data is usually some form of table or spreadsheet with time, coordinates, and other positional data, so you can find the correct time in the video and make a title that includes the corresponding coordinates for that time. If you're doing this for more than a few seconds of video, it will be an unreasonably long and tedious process, but it is possible.

  • PLEASE HELP...how do i exit a programme

I am having some trouble with a programme i have been coding -
I am fairly new to Java and have a quick query!
How would i exit my programme in the middle of my code...
    eg
    if (a = 5)
    System.out.println("you win");
    else
...rest of code!EG I would like to end the programme when the user meets the requirements of the IF statement -
if (a = 5)If the user does not meet these requirements i would like them to go onto the next question.
so i need it to end:
    else
question2... etcAt the moment - even if the requirements in the IF statement are met - the programme continues to run to the next question!
    i understand i could use
System.exit(0)but i dont know if this is right?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    thanks!

    Hm... confusion still remains....
Look.... once your main() method returns, your app is more or less dead, (certain pieces of the jvm remain for a short period thereafter...)... SO
If your code steps through to the FINAL CLOSING BRACE in your main method, you have exited your app...
System.exit() is used in abnormal cases where you need to force the issue in a hurry, (un-recoverable exeptions, OOM errors,etc...).
Be aware that swing and awt objects could leave the app open unless you specify a default close op or disposal...

I just had a conversation with Linksys' Customer Service via chat: Daphne L. J: Hello Fernando Paramo. My name is Daphne L..
Daphne L. J: Welcome to Linksys Global Chat. Is this your initial contact or do you have a case number?
    You: Case number is 04971062
Daphne L. J: Please give me 3-5 minutes to pull up and review your case.
    You: OK
    Daphne L. J: Thank you.
You: I have a WRT1900 AC, V1. The router is not working properly. I have disconnections every few minutes.I already installed the new firmware version and I still have the same issues. I already reset the router to factory defaults and same issues. I have changed the settings back to my personal preferences: Changed the SSID, changed the wireless security settings, changed the DNS and deactivate WPS. That's it.I'm using 5 Ghz mode with my laptops (5 Ghz adapters) and 2-4 Ghz with a few devices (Chromecast, Nintendo 3DS).
Daphne L. J: Thank you for waiting.
Daphne L. J: Please confirm if the following information is correct:

    You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: Okay. Were you able to check if the devices have stable connection wired to the router?
You: No. I do not have devices with Ethernet ports. Well, only the cable modem.
You: But the modem is fine. No disconnections from my ISP.
    You: It is the router.
Daphne L. J: Alright. What is the current firmware version of your router?
You: I tried to return the router to Wal-Mart yesterday with no luck. This is a useless device. And I have been reading comments on the community forums and a lot of people are having problems.
Daphne L. J: We are actually aware of the issue and are working on a resolution. What is the current firmware version of your router?
    You: Ver. 1.1.10.167514
    You: Latest one.
Daphne L. J: Yes, so you reflashed the firmware, reset and then manually reconfigure it after, not using backup configuration, is that right?
    You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: And it is intermittent on all devices connected to both 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks, is that right?
    You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: Thank you for the information. Please give ,e 3-5 minutes to verify this with my superior.

You: I do not want my current hardware.
You: It is useless for my needs.
You: I can't believe I had an older E3000 that didn't give me any problems.

They are highly technical and knowledgeable when it comes to advanced troubleshooting. They will contact you in the next 24 to 48 hours. By the way, who is your Internet Service Provider? And do you Cable or DSL connection?
    You: Cable connection.
Daphne L. J: Who is your Internet Service Provider?
    You: A company called .
You: How are they going to contact me?
Daphne L. J: Alright. By the way, on the device itself, on its FCC ID, please check if you have WRT1900AC or WRT1900AC v2.
You: Are you paying attention to me?
    You: I already told you it's V1.
Daphne L. J: They will call or email you. Please double check if these informations are correct:

Daphne L. J: We can't assure you if we will be able to replace it with Version 2 or if you are allowed to have the EA8500 instead.
Daphne L. J: Just in case, do you also have an alternate number?
Daphne L. J: Also, what time zone are you in? And what is your preferred time and day for them to contact you?

Daphne L. J: So, you are currently in Mexico?
You: I work in Mexico but I have the house in USA. I live in the border.
Daphne L. J: I see. Do you have any other questions or clarifications?
You: I live 10 minutes away from the International Bridge. But that's not an issue. I bought the router at Walmart in Laredo, TX.
Daphne L. J: Thank you for the information. Would that be all for now?
You: I want a clarification: Do you realize that there is an issue with the current WRT1900 AC? Are you aware of that?
You: Because this is a very expensive router that is not working as it should be.
Daphne L. J: Yes, we are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution.
Daphne L. J: Would there be anything else you need?
You: That would be it. I will wait for you to contact me.
    You: Thanks.

For your reference, your case number is 04980394. Thank you for choosing Linksys and have a great day! We paid $250 for this piece of equipment. That's a lot of money for a device that doesn't work. I just want to get a V2 replacement, or better yet, an exchange for a EA8500. We should all demand this. It is not fair for us. The current WRT1900 AC is a useless device. They even should do a recall of the product. I will wait for them to contact me, but I'm thinking if I should send the information to The Consumerist or someone else. What to do?

There is laterally millions of WRT1900AC V1 out there with very few issues with latest firmwares and of course the odd exception. In your case it could be a defective WRT1900AC.

Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.

The $? variable in UNIX is the exit code for the program. In most *NIX versions that I am aware of, it is limited to values between 0 and 255 (i.e. one byte), so the value is truncated.  The hex value of 50497 is C541, or two bytes, so the $? variable is only getting the last byte 0X41 which is decimal 65.

  • FBL5N customer line item ALV report -- define exit points

Customer wants to modifications on FBL5N std sap report. Here's what I think are the options:
    1. Modify SAP program (which I dont prefer at all to do)
    2. Copy SAP Program into Y/Z program
    3. User-exits or BAdIs.
I am in process of doing step 2.
I tried to find any user-exits for the requirement but there seems no user-exit. There is no std BAdI delivered for the same purpose either.
Hence, I was wondering if I can create BAdI so as to define the exit points where I need. Can you suggest on howt to go about this procedure?

If you copy and change the program, you have to be aware that in some of the includes, it checks the program name and calling transaction and behaves differently if it's not the normal program name or transaction. If SAP makes significant changes to the program during an upgrade, your changed program won't have these SAP changes. I don't know of any BADIs or user exits for report programs.
Some people wiil disagree with me on this, but I really don't have a problem with making mods to the original SAP code, particulary if you can isolate them in another include and keep changes to the SAP code to a minimum. With version management and SPAU at upgrade and support pack time, you can keep track of your changes and re-apply them if needed.
But it's easy for me to say because I've been doing this for quite a while. If you really don't want to make the changes, then you're probably better off copying and changing a Z program.

  • How to remove the standard Exit and Help buttons from the iviews

    Hi All,
We migrated the ESS application from standalone ITS based on 4.6c to ECC 6 based Integrated one.  After converting that into ICF service and when we created the iview for it in the portal(EP 7)  It is showing two hyperlink items EXIT and HELP by default at the top of every iview.  So, Can anybody tell me how to remove them from visibility.
And also, the iviews are not showing the table grids etc in the integrated environment.  Is there any change that need to be done, for getting the table grids and all to look as it is in the previous envoronment.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi

    Hello Ravi,
You should be aware that many of the ESS transaction are not supported on the Integrated ITS, see note 870126 for more details.
To remove the "Exit" and "Help" you can use the ~webgui_simple_toolbar parameter, please see note 1010519.
Some tables have an option to show the gridlines or not.  Please see if there is a table options icon in the upper right of the table to change the configuration.  I'm not sure if what kind of table you're referring to so it may or may not be available.

  • Follow-up on Ravi's User Exits example

    Hi,
    Ravi's user exit example:
You have a content data source with fields say customer, sale org, profit center and amount. You wish to add sales manager to this extractor. You <b><u>locate</u></b> the table and <u><b>field name and append that field to the extractor</b></u> and write a code to pick that field when the extractor extracts data. This piece of code is called exit. What it does is the system reads the customer code.
In the above example explaining customer exists, regarding the field, can you clarify “locate the field”. I read that if this field were available in the LIS communication structure that would be an enhancement to the structure where we only move the field from the left to the right (extract structure). In this case an append structure will be generated in the corresponding Include structure.
In the case of the user exit, my understanding is that the field in question, in this example, Sales Manager, is not available in the LIS Communication structure so I was expecting that you would state “create the field” but you said “locate the field”. Did you mean that, and if so, locate from where? Because if it is being located from the LIS communication structure then I would not expect a user exit, at least from my understanding.
    Thanks.

    Hi Amanda,
Yes, a field can be created when none of the SAP defined fields are solving the issue on hand. In this case too User exits are used. These fields are then appended to the tables.
So all fields are in some table or the other. The field that you require has to be located in these tables and appended to the extractor. This again requires User Exits.
For LO Cockpit extractors, if the field is already available in the extracstructure in LBWE then it can be moved from left to right and no extra coding is required.
    Hope this helps.

  • Using JOptionPane to exit program & Using toString method

    Hello,
In my program I have to use a toString method below
    public String toString(Hw1NCBEmployee[] e)
            String returnMe = String.format(getStoreName() + "\n" + getStoreAddress() + "\n" + getCityState() +  "\nYou have " + getEmpCount() + "employee(s)");
            return returnMe;
}Now, at first, when I initially tested my code, it was working just fine, printing out the right way
Point is -- now that Im practically finished with my program, and am going back and running it - calling the toString method gives me the address rather than the information . . . Can anyone help me with this issue??
Also, Im using JOptionPane to display everything, but -- at first, it worked fine, then (around the same time I started having the above problem) it stopped exiting the do-while loop:
    while(go)
                 int option = JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog(null, "Do you want to enter employee information?", "Welcome!", JOptionPane.YES_NO_OPTION);
                     if(option == JOptionPane.NO_OPTION)
                        go = false;  //exit loop

well, for the toString - I have to print out the info inside the array -- am I right in thinking that the only way to do this is to pass in the array ??If the array is part of the class then there is no need to pass it as a parameter. If it is being passed in from outside the class then I have to question your design. Why should class X being formatting data that is not a representation of itself?
and i have 2 other files that go with this program . . . I just want to know if there is a way to make sure that when the user presses the NO option, it will exit the loop -- the piece of code you see if apart of an entire method (not long) -- do you want me to include this??You read that link I provided REAL quick!

  • In Editable ALV the BACK/CANCEL/EXIT buttons are not working?

    Hello,
I wrote a editable FM based ALV, working fine that when user changes the data and press SAVE button, values are transfering into prog. But, i need to put a validation that, if user changes the values and press BACK/CANCEL/EXIT button, i need to popup the message that "Do you want to save changes", my PF-STATUS is good(because, SAVE is working).
But, its not working that when user done changes and press BACK button (forgot to press SAVE button), system taking me to selection screen/screen 0!! I my code is as below,
FORM pick USING v_ucomm     TYPE syucomm
                                         it_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
      DATA: v_answer TYPE char1.
      READ TABLE it_z_tbl  INDEX it_selfield-tabindex
       INTO w_z_tbl.
      CASE v_ucomm.
        WHEN '&IC1'.
            " working fine this functionality
          ELSE.
MESSAGE i000 WITH 'Double click on key field'.
          ENDIF.
        WHEN 'SAVE'.
            " working fine this functionality
WHEN BACK' " OR 'CANCEL' OR 'EXIT'.
          PERFORM popup_for_user_decision CHANGING v_answer.
          CHECK v_answer = '1'.
          PERFORM now_update.
      ENDCASE.
    ENDFORM.
when i put the break point on the first line of this piece of code, its not stopping on pressing BACK/CANCEL/EXIT buttons!! (its stoppig for SAVE press or double click)
    Its stopping at this point,
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'.
    EXPORTING
    i_callback_user_command  = 'PICK'
    IMPORTING
    EXCEPTIONS
IF sy-subrc <> 0 =================> its stopping at this point!
    ENDIF.
Pls. let me know why system is not recognising that i hv a PICK form (SAVE and Double clicks are working fine)?
    Thank you

    Hi,
Actually BACK is standard user command so it is not stopping and going to selection screen.
Give some other use command like 'BCK' and try....
