Expired certificate after a power cut

Hi,
I have a cisco E3000 with firmware version 1.0.04. I enabled the Local Management Access with HTTPS. If I connect to the HTTPS management interface, I can see that the date of validation of the HTTPS certificate is valid.
If I disconnect completly my router (disconnect the power supply), it seems that the HTTPS certificate is regenerated for the boot. The problem is that it is regenerated with a validation date from 01/01/1970 to 01/01/1971. I guess that the certificate is generated before the router is able to automatically set its own time.
Is there any solution to avoid this situation?
Thanks.

I didn't notice anything wrong regarding router functionality. The main issue I have is with some browsers which are a bit picky on the certificate date validation.
The time settings of the router is also correct. Anyway the only change I can do here is on the timezone (except if I missed something)
Thanks,
Gerald

  • My History became cleared after a power-cut - can I find it in Time Machine ?

Normally, after a forced quit, Firefox restores all open websites. After a power-cut, this did NOT happen ... when I looked in History I found it completely empty (although I did not clear it).
I have Time Machine on my Mac ... but where do I look to restore the History ?

How have you searched in Time Machine?
If you can't recover them from there, the you'll need a file recovery application like File Salvage
Note that you won't be able to recover the Library the best you can hope is to recover the photos. The can by the file recovery software may find many files with the same name. In all cases choose to recover the largest file.

  • HT2810 Apple HD Cinema Display will not come back on after brief power cut.

My Apple HD cinema display won't come back after a brief power cut.
There is the little white power light on the front which pulses on three times and then extinguishes, repeatedly.
The Mac itself seems to power up although it's hard to tell if it's bboting properly, as I cannot see anything on the screen.
There is power going to both units so I have no idea what is happening.

This sounds like a very common problem.  If the blinks are one short, one longer, one short..... long pause... repeat.... start searching this forum.   There are also Youtube videos on solving it.  If this is the problem, the solution is easy.  You block both center pins on the 10 pin power connector.   Its crazy but it works.

I just used a very thin strip of paper folded in half and slipped into the display's connector so it covers ONLY the two center contacts, then slip it into the power module very carefully.  Make sure there is some slack in the paper as otherwise it will tear and the contact will still be made.  If it doesn't work at first, try again as the paper made have torn in process.   It would be better to use something stonger like a very thin strip of mylar.   Or you can do what the video shows, but I didn't try that exactly.

  • Portal show expired certificate after re-generating

Our portal server SSL certificate has expired and users were prompting for Warning screen for this expired cert. After follow the instructions for how to re-generate Server SSL cert per instructions from the link -> http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f1/2de3be0382df45a398d3f9fb86a36a/frameset.htm
We managed to update the certs "ok". However, in some section of portal, we're still received the expired certificate warnings. Is there something we need to do more to resolve this issue (eg. restarts some services?)
    Below are additional information:
    - SAP J2EE 6.40
    Appreciate if your assistance.
    Andy.

I don't see how it is possible for the portal to be serving two certs (one valid, one expired), assuming you replaced the cert on each dispatcher node (i.e., more than one J2EE box).
Maybe it's a browser cache that's trying to use an old cert. Clear the browser cache and retest?

  • Picture flickers on and off after a power cut - seems locked

Just had a power cut in the street and when I turn my apple TV on now the home menus come up on the screen for 2 seconds then disappear for 5, then this repeats.
The remote won't scroll along although it seems to be paired but more concerened about why the flickering is occuring as I can't use the device.
    Any help?
    ATV2 on 4.4.4

Try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds, or resetting it using the reset option under general. You should also try restarting your router.

  • After a power cut macbook pro won't backup to time capsule

The power supply was interupted for a few hours and since then every time my macbook pro attempts to connect via wifi I get the following message, "Time machine could not complete the backup. The backup disc image '/Voloumes/Data/Iain Watson's MacBook Pro.sparsebundle' could not be accessed (error1)"
I have tried to back up using ethernet cable again and the same message occurs.
Can anyone advise me what to do?
    thanks,
    Iain

Just a reboot of the network.. bad power can cause things to lock up.
Start in correct order.. modem .. TC .. Clients. 2min gap.. this is assuming the simplest possible setup.
If you still have issues check the troubleshooting here.

  • BT Response 75+ beeps after power cut

I have a problem with my BT Response 75+. After a power cut and restart, the unit keeps making a beep even with no saved calls. The only way I have fixed it is to phone from mobile, not answer the call and the system pick it up, and then end the call. The system then shows 1 saved call, which I can play and delete, and the system is then working normally. WHY!!

I have just purchased a reconditioned Response 75+ unit from The Phone Outlet and experienced exactly the same problem as described.  Having had years of good service from my old Response 55 unit I was disappointed to find that the 75+ has no battery back-up but, hey ho, I should have checked the specification first! (Never assume anything!)
The beep syndrome is obviously a design fault and it is frustrating that no-one appears to have got round to providing a service fix. In the meantime at least I know how to get rid of the beep and will have to live with the defect.
    Thanks for the useful post.

  • Powerline Adaptor on Standby after power cut

    Hi
After a power cut in my house one of my powerline adapters is on permanent standby it wont respond to the button or powerdown
    any suggestion
    Thanks Tommy

Got an e-mail back with a link to the reset procedure.  During the time between my last go at resetting and this the other adapter has gone into the same state.  Now neither are responding to anything.  Not sure these powerline adapters are very robust but I have had them a few years now.
Called the technical helpdesk and the person dealing with my call was actually very helpful.  Ran me through the reset procedure yet again then booked an engineer.  Only problem is (quite a big problem really) the first slot they could get wasn't till Saturday afternoon.  Can't think of a way to connect my vision box without the adapters.  Stuck with analogue channels for the next 5 days.

  • SNR Increase after power cut

    Hi
We incurred a power cut early on Monday morning after the overnight gales and rain on Sunday.
When the router restared after the power came back on my connection speed had dropped from 4mb to 2.5mb and my download SNR ratio had increased from around 6db to 12 to 13db. Just wondered if this is a norman occurance after a power cut and is my SNR going to return to around 6db on its own (and therfore my connection speed increase) or do I need to contact BT to have it reset?

    Hi NeilO
I used the link to 'contact the Mods' on Monday dinnertime and received an automated reply saying I would be contacted in 24 to 48 hours. As of now I am still waiting for a reply and as you see below, am still stuck on a downstream SNR of 12.6db which has reduced my connection speed by nearly half. It has been around this mark now since 6th Oct 14.
Can you give my any indication on how my case is progressing as I also cannot connect to Sky's On Demand service wirelessly and don't want to mess around with my router until my speed increases.

  • IMac won't boot anymore after power cut

Thanks to the great storms in New Jersey, my iMac does not boot anymore after a power cut. Does not get past the apple logo screen with the spinning wheel and keeps rebooting every 2 minutes.
I was able to mount the HD via Firewire on a host machine and the disk seemed fine.
I booted from the Install disk and ran Disk Utility - seemed fine though I could not verify the disk permissions ?
One other thing - I seemed to remember the white light (front bottom right) was blinking before during start-up. Now it goes and stays black after couple of seconds.
    Help please,
    Philippe

HI Phillipe and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
If you haven't done so, try running the Apple Hardware Test.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509
I doubt repairing disk permissions can't help this problem. It sounds like a hardware issue.
*"I booted from the Install disk and ran Disk Utility - seemed fine though I could not verify the disk permissions ?"*
When you ran Disk Utility via Firewire, did you actually Verify the hard disk for errors?

  • DHCP not expiring and unit needing power cycling

I've had my AirPort Extreme N gigabit router for about two days now and am having several issues. I upgraded to the 7.2.1 firmware, but that didn't help. I've noticed that DHCP leases, after expiring, aren't releasing and therefor aren't allowing DHCP devices to reconnect. The only work around for this has been to blow out the DHCP lease window exponentially. Secondly, are the activity lights for the lan ports on the back of the Unit supposed to remain on? Mine keep turning off and I have to power cycle the unit to get them to come back on...before they turn off again. I've also had issues where Gigabit Ethernet cards cannot make connections until I reboot the unit. Also, how warm should this device be?

    Thanks for the replies,
I have already tried a full power cycle before posting, should have made that clear in my first post, sorry. Straight after the power cut, I shut everything down for 10 minutes, and then powered all device up one by one.
Also, I just tried changing the beginning address from '192.168' to '10.0' and this made no difference to the issue.
    When trying to get an IP address through DHCP, I receive;
    IP '169.254.117.112'
    subnet mask '255.255.0.0'
    and empty router field
which is extremely strange, as I used to get a subnet mask of '255.255.255.0' and the router's IP has not changed since getting the TC.

  • New Photo/Video Import Lost Due to Power Cut - Any Ideas?

I am using OS X 10.9.1, and iPhoto '08, V7.1.5.  My iMac was in the closing stages of a photo/video import from my iPhone 5 when a power cut occured.  I had thought the photos would already be in the new album that I'd just created because I had just been asked the question Keep or Delete Original Photos (I  responded DELETE).  When I restarted after the power cut, the new iPhoto album contained nothing at all, and 80% of the originals had been deleted off my iPhone.  I have tried looking in the main iPhoto library and Last Import folder with no joy.  Is there anythig else that I can try please?

Quick update to say that I found them!  I convinced myself that when the power cut occured, there's no way that a few GB of media could be instantly deleted, and thus they must be somewhere on the HD.......similar to data getting stored in a TEMP folder on a PC.  I managed to access the main LIBRARY folder via Finder >> GO >> OPTION KEY and then did a search for one of the photo numbers that I knew was missing. Amazingly found it together with all the other 588 missing photos & movies buried in a folder called 26Dec2013_2 (strange considering this happened on 01Jan2014 and all the photos/media were from the period 27Dec to 01Jan).  Note that my earlier search of the entire iPhoto Library package had also proved fruitless. Not sure where that folder was actually residing, but I copied the entire contents to my Desktop and then imported them into iPhoto.  In short, I am so happy!  Lesson learned about the dangers of power cuts, especially living in a city short on energy.  I will not do that again.  Hope this helps someone else sometime in the future. Thanks.

  • Power cut lost my hard drive

After a power cut my iMac has restarted without recognising my LaCie 2TB Porsche Design P'9233 USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive. I have restarted unplugged and cursed loudly without success.
    Any ideas folks?

Ok first many times when there is a Power loss, when they Power back on it can cause a Power Surge.
A Power Surge can sometime cause your equipment to get cooked and render your equipment virtually useless.
If you cannot access the LaCie then it will be hard to copy your files to something else.  You can try to connect the LaCie to another Mac and see if you can access it like that, if you can you may want to try coping to a flash drive.
I would like to recommend that you think about purchasing a APC Battery Backup this can and will eliminate the risk of loss of equipment because of Thunder Storms and lightning strikes and power outages.

    Hopefully this helps.

  • IMac won't turn on after power cut

When my iMac is unexpectedly turned off, ether at the wall or during a power cut, it won't then come back on immediately.  Sometimes it will come back on after an hour, sometimes after a couple of days.  Anyone know why this is? There is no logic to it. I've tried all the trouble shooting stuff; the resetting SMC for example. And I've got a surge protector. I've also taken it into an Apple store, a round trip of 3 hours, twice already over the past couple of months.  But after doing some diagnostic tests on it they can find nothing wrong.  Also, when they go to turn it on, it fires up immediately.  I was told that unless they experience the problem themselves they can't do anything.  Which means I'm forever taking it in to them, during this problem, on the off chance it may still be a problem when I get there.  It's very infuriating. Help!!!

Great advice.  And I'll definitely do that - need to get my Mac back on and working before that however.
