Export and Import of Portal Database - Help Required

Hi,
We have a NW04 production portal running on AIX clustered environment (HACMP). We are building another landscape for which i need to export the current portal and import onto new portal which is already clustered (HACMP). Can someone point document to use sapinst (Jload) for export and import for this high availability systems.

Hi,
SAP User Administration is the standard way to export and import users in the portal. Using the export functionality, all the user information will get exported, including the roles and groups assigned:
[User]
uid=userid
last_name=Lastname
first_name=Tobias

accessibility=0
role=pcd:portal_content/com.sap.portal.xxx;
group=Administrators;
If you only want to export the user data without the roles and groups, you'll have to delete these lines.

Purpose
This article highlights some important points to consider when performing
a Full System Export and Import.
Scope and Application
It is intended to assist users performing FULL System Exports and Imports.
A Full System Export and Import is a useful way to replicate or clean up
a database. Please note the following guidelines when performing a Full
System Export and Import:
1. When performing the import, ensure you are pointing at the correct
instance. Always check values for the SID and two task driver before
proceeding.
*Note: On Unix systems, just entering a sub-shell, such as using
C-shell, can change the database that the import would work
against.
2. When possible, it is advisable to take a physical copy of the
exported database and the database you intend to import into before
starting the import. This ensures any mistakes are reversible.
3. NEVER run a FULL SYSTEM IMPORT on a machine that has more than one
database UNLESS you are 100% sure all tablespaces have been
pre-created. A full import will create any undefined tablespaces
using the same datafile names as the exported database. There are
situations where this is very dangerous:
-> If the datafiles belong to ANY other database, they will be
CORRUPTED. This is especially true if the exported database is
on the same machine, because its datafiles will be re-used by
the database you are importing into.
-> If the datafiles have names that clash with existing operating
system files.
4. When exporting, it is advisable to also produce a report showing
information you may need before / after the import:
-> List the tablespaces and datafiles
-> List the rollback segments
-> List a count, by user, of each object type such as tables,
indexes, etc.
This enables you to ensure that tablespaces have been pre-created
and to check the success of the import after it is complete.
5. If you are creating a completely new database from an export, remember
to create an extra rollback segment in SYSTEM, and make this available
in the init.ora file before proceeding with the import.
6. There are some versions of export that do not retain sequence numbers
correctly. It is advisable to select next_value for each sequence
after the export so that these can be checked after import.
Following these guidelines will help you to avoid major problems.

Pre-requisites: The copy is between 2 machines, both have to be on the same OS
and have to have exactly the same database version installed.
1. Make sure the database you want to copy was closed with a SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE,
SHUTDOWN NORMAL or SHUTDOWN TRANSACTIONAL.
2. Copy init.ora and control files to create instance and be able to go in
mount mode. Check the init.ora for the locations where the controlfiles have
to be, if those locations are not valid on the machine put the control files on
different places and adjust the init.ora accordingly.
3.a. Copy the datafiles (all of them).
b. Copy the redo-logfiles (all of them).
4.a. (Unix only) Set the environment variables:
ORACLE_SID - set to the database name you wish to create
ORACLE_HOME - set to full pathname of the Oracle system home directory
PATH - needs to include $ORACLE_HOME/bin
b. (NT/2000 only) Do 'set ORACLE_SID=<SID>'
Use oradim to create the service for the instance. For more information
on oradim please refer to (the part that refers to creating a new instance):

5. Use servermanager (check the name to use for your version of oracle) or
sqlplus (version 9i and above) to startup the database in mount mode.
Do
CONNECT INTERNAL/<PASSWORD>
then
STARTUP MOUNT
Then do a rename of the copied datafiles if they are not in the same path as on
the other machine. For all the files that are in the result of the query:
SELECT NAME FROM V$DATAFILE;
do
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '<oldfullpath>\<filename>' to <
newfullpath>\<filename>';
6. Query the datadictionary for the old location of the redolog files using:
SELECT MEMBER FROM V$LOGFILE;
If the new place is not the same as the old do:
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '<oldfullpath>\<redologfilename>' to &
lt;newfullpath>\<redologfilename>';
7. Now open the database:
ALTER DATBASE OPEN;

I had developed few components like (Forms, Reports, Frames etc.,) in Oracle Portal release 2. Now, I need to make available all the components on my Client's machine. I like to know how to export and import these components.

The migration of any Portal DB provider components, has the following steps.
Assume that you are migrating a form component form_X.
1) Click the export link of the form_x.
(this will take you to create transport screen).
2) Specify a name of the transport set which you are going to create. (eg., "My form_X transportset")
(Since the objects are migrated using a container which is in other words called as 'Transport Set').
3) In that select the export now button.
(this will mark your form component form_X for export).
4) Verify that the status of the transport is 'Extract Complete'
(check with the browse transport screen in Export/Import Portlet under Admin tab).
5) Now, the object information is extracted into transport set tables used by Portal Export/Import Utility.
6) Go to that particular transport set, (browse transport) and download the script available.
7) That script will lead you to various steps,
(create a dump ).
8) In the target instance, import that dump using the same script again.
9) Merge the contents of the dump (form_X information) into any of the application.
(Import option => in the export/import portlet under admin tab).
10) Verify that the status of the transport set is 'Merge Complete'.
Now, the object is migrated and ready for use.

Incremental Export and Import...Please Help..

Hello experts!
Please help.....
We are running a program with and same database with same user/password in different location and branches.
We dont have any centralization, regularly after updating stock and sales they will send the .dmp file through e-mail, I will recieve and rename it and insert the stock and sales tables in Head Office and back to original position.
Regularly it is difficult, I want some automation Export/Import command so that I can update the recieved updated part of file.
The story is big, kindly help...it is important and urgent.

Export and Import for R12 database instance (docid 741818.1)

I have a situation where I am missing objects in CTXSYS schema and other schemas that are not exported but are required by oracle applications after my import. Is there any script I can run to recreate these objects.
eg AD_CTX_DDL
APPS_ARRAY_DDL
APPS_DDL
CS_KB_CTX_PKG. I think these are packages.
Also I am missing certain privileges on packages given to system and application users by sys eg DBMS_SHARED_POOL. I have already executed adgrants

If you have table/index create commands (DDLs), you can create them in Developper and import data using one of methods below
Extract/ Load table
Insert location method : require IQ servers to be entered in interfaces file
Backup/Restore : copy entire database content
If you have not the DDLs, you can generate them using IQ cockpit or SCC.

I am bit new to this statistics.
Can anyone please explain me in detail about these commands.
1) exec DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS (ownname => 'MRP' , tabname => 'MRP_ATP_DETAILS_TEMP', estimate_percent => 100 ,cascade => TRUE);
2) exec DBMS_STATS.CREATE_STAT_TABLE ( ownname => 'MRP', stattab => 'MRP_ATP_3');
3) exec DBMS_STATS.EXPORT_TABLE_STATS ( ownname => 'MRP', stattab => 'MRP_ATP_3', tabname => 'MRP_ATP_DETAILS_TEMP',statid => 'MRP27jan14');

I understand that these commands are used to export and import table statistics.

Portal Export and Import Steps

Hi all,
I need to export all page groups from Production portal instance and import those in brand new portal instance (target Portal)*. Source and target portal instance is as follows
Production Oracle Database Version: 10.1.0.5
Target Oracle Database Version: 10.2.0.4
Production Oracle Infrastructure Version : 10.1.2.0.2
Target Oracle Infrastructure Version: 10.1.2.0.2
Production Portal Version: 10.1.2.0.2
Target Portal Version: 10.1.2.0.2
What i have done till now is as follows
1. Install Database server 10.2.0.1
2. Upgrade Database Server to 10.2.0.4
3. Install 10.2.0.1 products from Companion CD (ultra search Schemas)
4. Create Metadata Repository using Repository Creation assistance
5. Install IAS infrastructure (10.1.2.0.2)
6. Install IAS Middle Tier (10.1.2.02.)
7. Create Transport sets in production instance
Please tell me what i am supposed to do now.

I have seen several Portal Admins who keep banging their heads with problems they create in their systems because they do not read this note and try to force a case which does not follow a supportable scenario.

Here are two things you can do to get started.. In 9iAS Release 2, Export/Import functionality is provided via a set of export/import utilities included with 9iAS Portal.

URGENT...Help on User Level export and import

User level export and import -
In my db there are more than 20 users, i would like export only 2 users and they have constraints to other user tables in db.
what are the precautions I need to take before exporting ???
1. Disabling all constraints etc, .
2. Synonymns, Procedures , Triggers etc.
3. what are the parameters setting I should use for the export.
For Importing back into DB (same users) - What are the sequences/steps to follow..

Using Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris.. Total DB Size is 13.3 GB

See to it that u have the DBA PRIVS to exp/imp.
1.Grant export full database /import full database privileges to the user doing this.
2.If this is the first time u are doing this u have to run the scripts CATEXP.SQL and CATPROC.SQL to create the necessary views,datadictionaries as user SYS/INTERNAL.These instructions are also mentioned in the scripts comments at the beginning .
3.Also create the necessary tablespaces where u need to direct u'r imp.
4.select the interactive option where u can interact with
imp/exp process and u can do this selectively for users/tables/partitions and other preferences.
5.look out for the version compatibility of your .DMP files
