Export by OEM 9.2.0

Hi,
I wonder if we can do EXPORT-IMPORT in OEM 9.2.0 ?
Many thanks before.

Yes it is possible to do. Go to Tools-->Database Tools--> Database Management from menu. For this to use you should have Oracle Management Server. Please browse the online documentation for information.

    Hello
When I try to make an export or import on a table of my Oracle base, this message d error appears

and I do not see how solving it?
    Thank you in advance.

It looks like you have a basic problem with your repository. Are you sure installation finished successfully? You could try to drop and recreate the repository (means almost the same as dropping and recreating user SYSMAN and its objects).

  • Performance Issue on Traditional Import and Export

    Scenario
    =====
    Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition (9.2.0.8)
    Windows Server 2003 (32 bit)
    --- to ---
    Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition (11.2.0.3)
    Windows Server 2008 Standard R2 (64 bit)
    Hi to all
I'm doing a upgrade from 9i to 11g and i am using native imp/exp to migrate those data.. For my 1st round of testing, I have done the following:
    1) Full DB Export from 9i. exp system/<pwd>@db FULL=Y FILE=export.dmp log=export.log
Encountered warning "EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics." (On hindsight, I know that I need to set the characterset as per my server before exporting) Nevertheless, I proceeded on with this 8.4GB dmp file that has the warning "EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics." The characterset in 9i is US7ASCII. My export took 1 hour, my 9i is actually only a small 26GB.
    2) Full import to 11g. My 11g is a newly created DB with characterset WE8MSWIN1252. I know that schemas and objects will be automatically created in 11g.
    3) However, the problem I face is that this importing of data has been running for the past 4 hours and counting and it is still not done.
    My question is:
Is it because of the difference in the characterset in the dmp file and 11g that is causing this importing to be slow? Could it be that characterset conversion is causing high overhead?
    OR
Is it because I exported all the indexes from 9i and now during importing, it is taking a long time to create those indexes in 11g? Should I have export full but set index=F and create a index creation script from 9i and run it in 11g, so as to save time?
    OR
Both of the above is causing the importing to keep on running? Or ??

    Hi to all
All my tablespaces in oracle 9i database is on 4096 block_size... But I pre-created those same tablespaces in 11g and they are on 8192 block_size..
Am I right to say that it is the differences in block size that is slowing down this importing?
If so, how can I solve this problem? If I use "IGNORE=Y" in my import statement, will it help? Thanks..
I think i will follow my 9i db and create the tablespaces in 11g in 4096 block_size...
Here's the new server (11g) specs (i know this is not officially supported by oracle yet):

  • Automate OEM partition Maintenance

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone out there had already automated their routine partition maintenance on the OEM repository and if there was any recommended standard, automated procedure for this from Oracle or the OEM community at large.
I've put something sloppy together that works, but would like to see what you all have out there for UNIX platforms.
Below is what I'm doing currently. I know this is not the best scripting, but I put it together quickly and as of yet have not gotten around to attempting to handle errors or recompile down the entire submit_em_dbms_jobs pkg chain which gets invalidated after the part_maint call.
Let me know if anyone out there knows of a recommended automated procedure for this, or if anyone wants to work on creating a nice one that could be shared as a standard.
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Thanks for the tips Ugonic,
That's a good point about the log removal, as it overwrites and is very small it's better to just leave the log.
As for the password read from file, it's sloppy but we are a dev shop and have other scripts designed the same way so I'm going to keep the auto-login for now so I can run this via cron in the middle of the night (it takes 30-60 mins to complete). That way we have OEM up when everyone is in the office.
    Bazzza -
Our Repository grows like crazy, if I don't run this we get up to 20GB in a matter of months. And the really pathetic part about it is that if I run it too late, everything is loaded at the end of the datafile and I can't shrink it down without playing all sorts of games (like the last time when you all helped me with he sysman schema exp/imp). Really hope this is fixed in the next releases ;)
    Thanks for the feedback guys,
    Tony

  • Pb with agent Jobs on OEM

    Hi.
I try to do Exports with OEM 2.1.0.1.0 Server Management configuration.
1 - I complete the Export Wizard, valid it.
2 - The OEM Agent create a job, program it, start it and finish it with status 'FAILED'
3 - I can see that the job failed because it can not open the Export log choosen in the wizard.
4 - Indeed, there is no Export file and no Export log created !
5 - I try the same Export directly with the exp command and that succeeds
information 1 : I think of having changed correctly
the Prefereed Credentials with an correct NT User (set up to "Logon as a batch agent") and a SysDBA database usr.
information 2 : when i use OEM Agent to execute a windows batch in which are the Exp command and the necessary parameters, that succeeds
So i have the problem only when the OEM Agent try to do himself this export

Any other ideas what might be causing this problem?
    Thanks and take care,
    Shayne

From what I've read in this forum and in others is
that the problem is often related to the owner/group
permissions associated with the bin/nmo and bin/nmb
files. However I've tried the posted solutions by

I am not sure which "posted solutions" you had, but this is related to not running root.sh which must be run against the Agent Home.
    1. Stop the Agent (emctl stop agent) while connected to the OS as Oracle user (normally oracle) that installed Grid Control
    2. Connect to the OS as root and run root.sh from Agent ORACLE_HOME (if you do not have root access, your System Admin can do it)
    3. Start the Agent (emctl start agent) while connected to the OS as Oracle user

  • OEM Export Wizard

    Hi,
I am using Oracle9i. I was able to use OEM Export Wizard to export my DB without any error.
After I submit the job, it will show in the job history as "Failed" with [VNI-2015 : Authentication error].
I give full Preferred Creditentials for this user login with role
    [DBA] and [EXP_FULL_DATABASE].
    What else do I miss?
    Any sugguestion would appreciated.
    Thanks

Jobs on OEM need to have preferred credentials set for both the database and the node. The error message that you are getting suggests that the credentials were not set for either the node or the database (or both).

  • Export,backup using OEM

    Dear friends,
What file sql file should be run for taking backup, export through oracle enterprise manager. I have configured everything and the script works from the command prompt but when run through OEM it shows vni - authentication error.
Please help the sql file that i should run at command prompt.

I came across this issue when testing 10.2 havent tried it recently and didnt exactly find and ans. How ever later found that for a proper install one need an OS account (i'm on win2003) which is in the in the administrators group, and logon as batch in local sec pol. I think there is one other sec group memebership. This is all iff the top of my head so not 100% on detail and havent got access to box right now to double check.
Look in the install guide should have this info. else i'll try post details on Mon when i'm got my notes.

  • "argument number too large" in OEM import export app

    Hi everybody,
I am a beginer with Oracle 9i and I am facing a strange error message when I try to import/export data from OEM connecter to my Oracle Enterprise Manager server.
The user loged in is the SYSMAN user.
When I launch the Import or Export applet on the selected database, Oracle send me the folowing message :
(sorry for my french to english translation)
"The following error occurs when you attemps to connect to the database with the login parameters
    argument number too large at"
My Oracle 9i is installed on a clean test platform : NT4server + SP6 french version, dual proc and 512 Mb RAM.
Can somebody help me ? I am unable to import/export data with the GUI.
    Thank you.
    Frangois.

To view your folio on your iPad you have two choices:
1 - If you built your folio offline on your local machine, choose the upload option from the Folio Builder fly out menu. All folios that were built online and any you uploaded are available for you to download when you log into ACV on your iPad.
2 - This is a MAC only option. Plug your iPad into your computer via the USB cable. With the iPad turned on and ACV opened you will see a Preview on [iPad Name] from the preview menu in folio builder.
I tested both of the supplied files after publishing them for the web from Edge and placing the html files in a web overlay. I previewed on both the desktop viewer and my iPad. Both worked as expected on the iPad. The Jams worked in a desktop preview but your logo just showed a red box. The white background is removed by selecting the transparent background option in the Overlay panel.
As Bob said, the desktop previewer is not 100% reliable. It is used for quick, down and dirty checking. It's always pest to preview on a device if something does not work as expected.
If it helps, I will share my test folio with you. Message me you email address.

  • OEM 12 export 10g schema problem

Using OEM 12 on a 10 database, I can't select a schema to export.  It lets me select one or more but when I hit continue it comes back to the same page with no schemas selected.  Does anyone know if this is a known bug?  I can't find any info on it.
    Thanks!

This is a bug we have the same issue I opened an SR 4 months ago and the bug is still with development. They did provide a temporary work around that you can test as well.
Can you try the following work around:
    1. Connect as SYSDBA user to target database where export is not working. Create a view with name used in 12c DBs:
    2. SQL> create view sys."_BASE_USER" as select * from sys.user$;
    3. Grant read access on the new view to all users who need the export function (these will be the users who login into the DB prior export).
    4. Retry the export function from EM Console with any of the granted DB users.

  • OEM Export Configuration

I've got OEM exports working...however, is there a way to dynamically change the name of the export file and log file? I'd like to keep several versions available at all times. I'd prefer not to have a separate job to do this?
    TIA
    Wade

Here are the steps that i used to configure/re-config EM for a database.
    --steps to configure
    set oracle_sid=YourInstanceName
    emca -repos recreate
    emca -config dbcontrol db
    --steps to reconfigure
    set oracle_sid=YourInstanceName
    emctl stop dbconsole
    emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
    emca -repos recreate
    emca -config dbcontrol db
    Hope this helps.

We have set up an OEM 10.2.0.4 and cinfigured around 104 databases.
now again we are setting up another OEM for different customer. We will have to set all the rules manually if dont have any other alternate method to get the rules from 1st OEM and import the same in newly created OEM.
I am checking if any alternate method which can use my existing OEM, istead of setting these rules manually
    Thank you,
