Export/Import Transport package error.

Hi,
I created a transport package as follows:
System admin>transport>export>(in a folder)>new transport package.
added the content(a folder) PCD.
in properties: References Filter:*
Exported it and saved on my local machine. (as .zip file)
When im trying to import the same in another instance, im getting an error as:
"Could not upload file. Check the log files for details."
I checked in the log file and it says:
"java.io.IOException: Bad ZIP file format: D:\usr\sap\DEV\tmp\_htmlb13135711805411293310975743163865.tmp; does not contain a package file. "
Please help me to understand where the error is!.
Any help would be appreciated..!!.
Thanks,
Shikha.

HI,
I think that Package file donu2019t have any Portal Content. We have to Export the portal Content .epa file structure and import that .epa into another portal Server. Donu2019t Save .zip file
Please follow these Steps
How to Export Package from Portal Component
1.Go to System Administrator-Transport-Transport Package-Click on ExportPortal ContentGo to our Folder (SapExample)-RC-NEW-Click on Transport Package
Here create one Transport Package.
  Transport Package Name: Pack1
Transport Package ID: PackID1
Next--FINISH-Select Open object for editing---- OK
iView/Page/Work Set/Role/Folder/-RCClick on Add Object to Transport Package-Click on Export button
Here Change File Name: Pack1.epa-----Click on Start Export Button.
Now you will see that Pack1.epa file created or not
Go this Path D:\usr\sap\System ID\Instance Name\global\pcd\Export
Here Pack1.epa File Available.
Or you can download from portal also. When you are export that .epa file click on Start Export Button after one download link available. So we can download here also.
How to Import to Portal Component
2. Go to System Administrator--Transport Package--Click on IMPORT
Select Source for Package Files: Client
Browse the Pack1.epa file--And click on Upload--Click on Import button.
Please Look at this wiki:[Export/Import|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/TransportingPortalContent]
Hope this helps!!

  • Exporting a transport package

    Hi,
when we export a transport package, an epa file is created and stored in the folder as per settings in the PCD configuration start up file. But then, where can we find details about all the objects i.e. iviews, pages, worksets, roles etc that are a part of the package ?
In ABAP, all the details pertainig to a request can be found in tables like e070, e071 etc. Are there any tables where these details get stored which can be accessed using SQL for JAVA?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Pravesh and Detlev.
I created a transport package, included an iview into it and exported the same, I downloaded the .EPA file and went through the structure of it. The .EPA file has a EPT file for the transport package, EPT file for the iview that i included in the transport package, an xml file called package.xml (which has contents as below at the end of this message)  and a manifest.mf file.
The package.xml file has the details of the objets that were a part of the package. My question is, is this the only place we can find these details or are there any java tables where they get stored (similar to abap e070 and e071 tables) ??

  • Error while importing Transport Package ?

    Hi,
I have created a Transport Package which includes the following things :
    1. Two folders
    2. Two iViews
    3. one .par file
I am trying to Import the above package by choosing the option 'Source for package file - client' and then browsing where my .epa file is placed.
When i click the Upload Button I am getting the following error -
'Error extracting the package file. Check the log file for details'
What can be reason for this error?
    Regards,
    Vikas Khandpur

    Hi Vikas
It is not generally advised to Package a .PAR file into a .EPA file. Because a .PAR file may depend on parts that are not included in the .EPA file which might cause incosistent transports.
You can directly upload a .PAR file into the Portal. Just go to System Administration -> Support -> Portal Runtime -> Administration Console and upolad the .PAR file.
Try removing the .PAR file from the Transport Package and download the exported .EPA file. Import this new file and see if it works this time.
    Hope that helped
    Best Regards

    Hello,

Transport Package doesn't show up in pending imports after Package upload. I repeated the package upload. Still its not showing under "Pending Imports"
Anything else has to be done while importing a transport package (wpc web content).
    Thanks
    Tony

I never had to enter object ID, when I was exporting. The only required property was the name of the package. I was following this document to export WPC Web Content http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/46/77da3bb8036ef0e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm

  • Cannot export a transport package to a network file share

I created a network file share (T) on my Portal DEV server.
I created a transport package, and when trying to export it, I get the error below:
[com.sapportals.portal.transport.app.TransportApplicationImpl]exportList: failed to create destination directory T:\
    any ideas what is wrong?

    Hi
While configuring the pcdStartup.properties file please be aware that networkshares need a configuration with additional "\" as they are interpered as excape character...
    So for example:
    C:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\pcd/Import
    Becomes:
    C:\\usr\\sap\\<SID>\\SYS\\global\\pcd/Import
    Good Luck...

  • Translations via an Import Transport package

When I try to transport content (iViews, pages, worksets, roles) from development server to Production server it fails and it give me the following message:
The unit does not exist in the Pcd. It may have been deleted or renamed. Restart the editor.
    Please advise.

    Hi Developer,
While creating your transport package give the same package name to all of your pcd objects, then try to export.

  • EXPORT/IMPORT SBO SCHEMA ERROR

    Hello,
We have a client who is working with SAP BusinessOne version for HANA, with HANA PLATFORM rev. 69 and I need to export your database and import it to our development server .
To backup/restore the database I have performed the following steps :
1 - I have made the export of a ' SCHEMA ' with "EXPORT "SBOXXX_ES"."*" AS BINARY INTO '/tmp/SBOXXX_ES' WITH REPLACE THREADS 10;".
2 - I have compressed files in Linux using the command : tar- czvf .....
3 - I've Unzipped the files to our local server.
4 - Performing the ' IMPORT ' command gives me the following errors,I tried two ways to import :
    4.1 - IMPORT  "SBOGXXX_ES"."*" as binary from '/tmp/SBOXXX_ES' with replace threads 10 rename schema "SBOXXX_ES" to "SBOXXX_ES_2";
Error mesage: SAP DBTech JDBC: [2]: general error: [Other schema]._SYS_SS_CE_1957622_RET not found in the import directory.
    4.2 - IMPORT "SBOXXX_ES"."*" as binary from '/tmp/SBOXXX_ES'
with replace threads 10 NO DEPENDENCIES
    rename schema "SBOXXX_ES" to "SBOXXX_ES_2";
Error mesage: SAP DBTech JDBC: [2048]: column store error: table import failed:  [30111] Binary import failed (could not execute create statement);invalid column view: ODLN: line 7 col 45 (at pos 506) at ptime/query/checker/check_cube.cc:259
I guess when you export the " SCHEMA " exported la la " DEPENDENCIES ON" option and these are generating the first error when importing .
If the error is of the DEPENDENCIES, in which DEPENDENCIES are stored files to edit , and remove all that is giving the error (SYS_SS_CE_1957622_RET ) .
Thank you very much for your support .
    Adria.

    Hi Adria,
I asked you to test the import on the system you exported from to determine if the problem is occurring because you are transporting the files from system 1 to system 2.  If it works on point of origin we should investigate why the transfer is corrupting the file.  I thought it would be ok because you are renaming the schema as part of the process.  I would not want to import @point of origin without the rename.
Whenever some one asks me how to export a schema and import it with a different name I provide:
    export "SBODEMOGB"."*" as
    binary into '/home/SBODEMOGB' with replace threads 10;
    import "SBODEMOGB "."*" as
binary from '/home/SBODEMOGB_901' with replace threads 10 rename schema "SBODEMOGB" to
    "SBODEMOGB_NEW";
You are using the statement I would provide.
I cannot find an hints for the error reported (SYS_SS_CE_1957622_RET).  If you do not see anything more helpful in the trace file I would suggest opening a customer message.
    Best regards,
    Duncan

  • Importing Support Packages - Error during XPRA_EXECUTION

    Hello,
    Database: Oracle 10.2.0.4
Operation System: Windows Server 2008 X64
I´m facing with an error during an importing of support packages in our Solution Manager Ehp1 system (SPS 20 to SPS 25).
I checked the import logs of the queue and I see in there the following error:
Program terminated (job: RDDEXECL, no.: 02083200)
       See job log
Execution of programs after import (XPRA)
End date and time : 20110126020847
    Ended with return code:  ===> 12 <===
When I checked the job log I see in there this:
    Job started
Step 001 started (program RDDEXECL, variant , user ID DDIC)
All DB buffers of application server SAPSM were synchronized
Internal session terminated with a runtime error (see ST22)
    Job cancelled
I went to ST22 and I see in there that specific short dump which show:
    Short text
        XSLT: No valid XML source
    What happened?
The transformation is not possible since the XML source document cannot
        be parsed.
    What can you do?
Note which actions and input led to the error.
For further help in handling the problem, contact your SAP administrator.
You can use the ABAP dump analysis transaction ST22 to view and manage
termination messages, in particular for long term reference.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_XSLT_RUNTIME_ERROR', was not
         caught in
procedure "TRANSFORM_FROM_XML" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING
         clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
Either the source document contains invalid XML or it is handled
incorrectly in the ABAP program that called the transformation.
    How to correct the error
The most common cause of this error is a conflict between the encoding
specified in the declaration <?xml version="1.0" encoding="..."?> in the
document and the actual encoding of the data.
If the document is held in an ABAP string, the actual encoding is the
system code page. If this does not match the declaration, a parsing
        error may occur.
These conflicts are a particular issue when XML documents are produced
in one system and then imported into a system with a different code page
         (as strings).
For this reason, XML documents should be held as binary data (X strings)
, if they are extracted from the system or accessed from outside.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
        keywords:
        "XSLT_BAD_SOURCE_CONTEXT" "CX_XSLT_RUNTIME_ERROR"
        "CL_SM_BFR_CONTENT_TRANSPORT===CP" or "CL_SM_BFR_CONTENT_TRANSPORT===CM00E"
        "TRANSFORM_FROM_XML"
The exception must either be prevented, caught within proedure
"TRANSFORM_FROM_XML" "(METHOD)", or its possible occurrence must be declared in
         the
        RAISING clause of the procedure.
To prevent the exception, note the following:
Can you help how to correct this situation for I can continue the update of support packages!
    Best regards,
    João Dimas - Portugal

At least you can grant execute on dbms_rls to the owner of that package first :)
Then you need to compare contents of dba_tab_privs for imported user on source database and target. Missed rows in target database would be the missed grants.
Otherwise you need to check logs for any errors or just use show=y option to find out if missing grant commands present in dump file.

    Hi
I am using Standard Business Package for SAP CRM4.0 60.2.3; it is stored in PCD -> Migrated Content
I customized the Business Package and stored the content in my folder and transported the Business Package to Local (on Desktop) and Server (in server: C:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\global\pcd\Export).

    Hi Michael
For Example In CRM BP there are set of Roles in that i took only Lead Manager Role and Stored that in my folder xyz as Deltalink and i also copied dependent object pertaining to that Role as Delta link.
In Transport Package i added all the dependent object and aswell the Role of Lead Management to that Package.
Before Exporting the Transport Package there is a option called (Include all objects on which the exported objects depend) i checked this option and Id of dependent objects i mensioned as ex: com.xyz
After doing this i transported my BP

  • Export Import to Maintain Test and Production Environments

We have developed an application using Locally built Database Providers in Oracle Portal 9.0.2.6 which is installed to 2 schemas, has 5 different providers, and over 100 Portal major components (Forms, Reports, and Calendars) and over 200 minor components (LOV's and Links). We have used export/import transport sets with some luck, but it is a struggle becuase the import procedures are not very robust. Many things (such as missing LOV's, corrupt components, preexisting versions, etc, etc.) can cause an import to fail. And the cleanup necessary to finally achieve a successful import can be very time-consuming.
Having a robust import mechanism is very important to our strategy for keeping installed (our own and clients') portal instances up-to-date with our latest release. Some of the enhancements that would make it much easier to develop and maintain Portal applications include:
    Within the Portal:
    1. Ability to copy an entire provider within the same portal (rather than one component at a time).
    2. Ability to change the schema to which a Provider is associated.
    3. When copying a component from one provider to another, the dependent items (i.e. LOVs and Links) should be copied to new second provider as well. (i.e. rather rebuilding each LOV in each provider and then editing each form to point to the new LOVs)
    Transport Sets:
    4. Should allow for changing provider names and provider schema, and global component name changes, and resetting unqiue id's on import (to create copy rather than overwrite).
    5. Should allow the option to ignore errors and import all components which pass pre-check (rather than failing all components if all items do not pass pre-check).
How are other Portal Developers dealing with installing and then rolling out new sets of Locally built Database Providers from Development environments to Production? Are there any whitepapers on the best practices for replicating/installing a portal application to a new portal instance and then keeping it updated?
Oracle, are any of my wish-list items above on the future enhancement lists? Or have others figured out workarounds?
    Thanks,
    Trenton

There are a couple of references which can be found on Portalstudio.oracle.com that are of some use:
    1. A FAQ for Portal 9.0.2.6 Export/Import http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/OTN_CONTENT/MAINPAGE/DEPLOY_PERFORM/9026_EXPORT_IMPORT_FAQ_0308.HTM
    2. Migration Instructions by Larry Boussard (BRUSARDL)
    3. Migrating Oracle Portal from Dev Systems to Production Systems bt Dheeraj Kataria.
These are all useful documents for a successful first-time Export-Import. However, the limitations and lack of robustness I listed in my first post, make the process so time-consuming and error fraught as to not be a practical development strategy.
