Export single fields

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to export specific fields (but not necessarily all fields) from an editable PDF form (made in Acrobat X Standard) to specific cells in Excel? (Excel 2010 version)
Some guidance on how to do it would be appreciated, but at the moment I'm really just trying to confirm if it's even possible.
Thank you,
Mark

It's possible. If you use the doc.exportAsText JavaScript method, you can choose to export just certain fields. This method creates a tab-delimited file that can be imported into a spreadsheet. For more information, see: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.460.html

  • How to export movies with Single Field option on with QuickTime Pro?

    Hi,
I've got a rather problematic video file with MJPEG encoding in it. I've been able to save the original AVI into another QuickTime mov-file. Where I thought the deinterlace would help me to get rid of the horizontal lines in the picture, that option didn't work this time. Instead, if I use the Single Field option, I get at least a smooth picture.
But when I try to export this to another mov-file or any other format for a smaller file size, I never get the smooth picture to stay. And in the resulting files the interlace "effect" can't be removed even with that single field on again!
    I'm using QuickTime Pro 7.6.6.
    Anybody with a solution?

Where I thought the deinterlace would help me to get rid of the horizontal lines in the picture, that option didn't work this time. Instead, if I use the Single Field option, I get at least a smooth picture.
It's my understanding that these QT 7 Pro options are "playback only" property settings utilized by the QT Player and do do not have any effect on the export/re-compression of interlaced content. Have you tried exporting directly to a progressive codec option/setting in QT 7 Pro, tried the motion adaptive deinterlacer in MPEG Streamclip (free) or the JES Deinterlacer (free), or used the "decomb" filter option in HandBrake (free) to see if any of these approaches are more suited to your needs?

  • Need to assign a multi datatype struct to a single field in Unicode system

    Hi all,
I had posted an earlier question related to this to understand what the issue is. Few responses helped. Then now I have gone thru the conversion rules in Unicode systems related to assigning a structure (with different data types) to a single field and looking for a solution for my case. The current code written in 4.6 says
    l_bapiparex-valuepart1 = l_bape_vbap
    where
l_bape_vbap is a structure of type bape_vbap and
    l_bapiparex of type bapiparex.
So according to the rules, when I do this kind of an assignment in ECC , the first field's length (i.e. VBELN) must be min 240 characters long. Only then this assignment will be error free, am I right ?
Or Is this an inadmissable assignment situation ?
If not then is there any other way how I can achieve the same result by fixing this issue ? I am not able to think of any !! Has any one come across this kind of an issue during upgrade? Please do suggest.
Just for your reference I have pasted the rule details from SAP help..
    Conversion in Unicode Programs
The following rules apply in Unicode programs when converting a flat structure to a single field and vice versa:
If a structure is purely character-like, it is processed during conversion like a data object of the type c (Casting). The single field can have any elementary data type.
If the structure is not purely character-like, the single field must have the type c and the structure must begin with a character-like fragment that is at least as long as the single field. The assignment takes place only between this fragment and the single field. The character-like fragment of the structure is treated like a data object of the type c (Casting) in the assignment. If the structure is the target field, the remaining character-like fragments are filled with blanks and all other components with the initial value that corresponds to their type.
No conversion rule is defined for any other cases, so that assignment is not possible.
    Note
If a syntax error occurs due to an inadmissible assignment between flat structures and single fields, you can display the fragment view of the corresponding structure when displaying the syntax error in the ABAP Editor by choosing the pushbutton with the information icon.
    thanks

    Try this way
          call method cl_abap_container_utilities=>fill_container_c
            exporting
              im_value               = l_bape_vbap
            importing
              ex_container           = l_bapiparex-valuepart1
            exceptions
              illegal_parameter_type = 1
              others                 = 2.

  • Single field text glitches with Motion templates in FCP6

I've set up some templates in Motion for use with FCP6. The templates are straps and end boards with text over a moving graphics background.
Occasionally when these templates are used one piece of text glitches, a single field flick to the right of about 20 pixels, whilst the rest of the text is ok. it's always at the same point in the animation, about 2sec in. The graphic is stationary text over a moving vt background, so no "comedy keyframes" going on.
This also happens on strap templates, which are similar. This time the glitch occurs if you cut between two straps (an edit, not a blade cut) in which case the incoming glitches.
    Any ideas??
    Steve

The situation you describe does not seem normal. It should not take nearly that long to render and export your 3:30 movie. Considering that your mac is not one of the most recent vintage, and your are editing in full HD, one could expect it to take a bit of time, but nothing like this.
In the way of troubleshooting, you could try and export just one of these 10 second segments.
I have no way of knowing for sure, but I guess that it might export in a much more reasonable amount of time.
I suspect that memory may be running scarce, which, as has been repeatedly mentioned in these fora, is a problem affecting many of us using FCP X under Lion. You mentioned you used "purge" in the Terminal, but in such a long render you might have had to do it repeatedly...

  • Capturing video in Imovie - single field processing (again...)

    Hi!
Let's start by saying that I've read a number of threads already on the 'single field processing' issues with iMovie (08 and up). What's not really clear to me yet, is at what stage (during capturing, editing, exporting, etc.) this single field processing is introduced in the process.
    Let me explain my situation:
I'm in the process of digitizing my families old home video VHS recordings, I've purchased a Canopus ADVC55 and a JVC HR-S9500 VCR (with TBC). Both are correctly connected to my iMac via Firewire. I have iMovie '09 and Final Cut Pro X. Sadly no iMovie HD, seems hard to find...
"Use Final Cut Pro X for capturing" I hear you scream, but I'm having great difficulty doing this, FCPX continually crashes during video capturing. Also, the sound has a strange 'clicking' when captured (the small bits that do import before FCPX crashing). I don't have these issues while capturing with iMovie 09.
So my idea was to capture the video with iMovie 09 and then import the .dv file with FCPX as a new event. My concern however is the single field processing that bugs iMovie. Can anyone confirm (or deny!) whether every other horizontal line of the video is thrown out during video capture already or not before the movie file is assigned to a project and used for editing? In other words, would my way of working (capture in iMovie, import in FCPX) leave me with the best possible quality or do I really need to look harder for iMovie HD (or fix the problems I'm having with capturing through FCPX)?

I have found that I can import in iMovie 11 witH no loss for DV.  My camera does not work for FCPX since FCpX wants to import from a DV camera with time code, and my consumer level camera does not have time code.
I have found that in Final Cut Pro X, I can use the File/Import iMovie Events command and bring all events into FCP.
This may take a while. I recommend running it overnight. When it finishes, close FCP (may take awhile). Then restart your Mac.
When you restart FCP you will find all your iMovie Events available to FCP and it will not use much disk space.
This is because FCP will reference your iMovie event through a Hard Link (much like Time Machine) so you can have two apps referencing the same physical file in different folders.
I had, for example, a 1TB drive with 850GB used. After importing my events into FCP X, I might have 852 GB used, because it does not double u p the dv files, but it does generate thumbnails and analysis files.
Another advantage of doing it this way is that FCP will not import DV Stream. It needs DV stream to be converted to a mov file with separate (not muxed) audio and video tracks. You can do this in Compressor, but it is a pain if you have a lot of files.
However, if you import from iMovie, FCP handles the DV Stream just fine.
    Pretty slick!

  • Single-field DV processing... HD only?

In getting ready to start a project in iMovie '09, I read up on all of the topics discussing poor performance of movies using DV footage. This has been attributed to "single-field processing", which has been discussed at great length. Having been scared stupid that my film would look like garbage, I ran a test.
I imported 15 seconds of footage from a Canon Elura 100 mini-DV camera into iMovie '09, and exported to MPEG-4 for playback on a Playstation 3. I hooked up my camcorder directly to my TV to play back the same 15 seconds. (I did this experiment on 2 separate 15-second clips. One indoors, one outdoors.) After flipping back and forth between the MPEG-4 on the PS3 and the same footage playing from the orignal tape, analyzing darn-near every frame, I've concluded the following:
The level of detail is indistinguishable between the two. Let me also say that this is being shown on a Samsung plasma television, and that the PS3 does not upscale video from the hard drive, only DVDs. So this is pretty much an even playing field aside from the fact that the PS3 is hooked up via HDMI, and the camcorder is hooked up using composite. (Since this is standard definition, it shouldn't matter)
HOWEVER, there is a noticeable difference in color accuracy. The colors on the MPEG-4 from the PS3 are washed-out a bit. Colors just aren't as vibrant. The footage still looks GOOD though, and it won't deter me from continuing with my project. Also, there is an interesting benefit of the color difference: It helps brighten dark footage. The brights may not be as bright anymore, but it also means the darks aren't as dark. This would be bad news for a Blu-ray, but there are times that it would help me. Using a mini-DV camera I have learned that low-light isn't my friend, and this seems to alleviate that problem quite a bit.
Having said all of this, (and typed WAY too much, sorry) I must ask a stupid question. Is all of this single-field processing talk restricted solely to those using HDV cameras? I realize that iMovie converts imported DV footage to 960x540 resolution. I also realize that this would strip HD footage of half it's resolution, resulting in poorer quality. But what about those of us using SD camcorders? My mini-DV's natural resolution is 853x480 (16:9), so in essence what iMovie is doing is enlarging the footage. This isn't a problem for movies watched on your computer, or on a PS3 as I do. I do see how this would produce ugly DVDs, since it's enlarging the resolution, only to later reduce it to DVD's resolution. This extra processing would hurt in the visuals department.
I had never seen it mentioned that single-field processing was only a problem for HD resolutions on DV, but this is the conclusion that I have come to. (The 960x540 resolution being the culprit) I have a standard-def 16:9 mini-DV camcorder. And other than the color difference which I described above, the footage is just as sharp. I hope this helps anyone that was as worried about using your DV footage as I was. I apologize if this has been pointed out before, or if I am just dead wrong for some reason. I also apologize if this was common sense that went without saying.

In regard to x264, this doesn't seem like something that can be used when exporting w/Quicktime. How would you go about utilizing it when exporting a finished iMovie project?
And to address your "P.S.", I understand the difference between DV and HDV, I'm not an idiot. I just thought that perhaps the use of the term DV in discussions of single-field processing could have been used as a catch-all to include HDV. I make reference to this in my original post.
Do you have anything to add in regard to visual quality comparison other than scoffing at my choice in cables? I don't think the jump to s-video in this case would produce any remarkable difference. Oh, and how old do you have to be to have s-video cables laying around? Kidding, kidding...

  • Deinterlace/single field question

    G'day folks
I am prepping some PAL DV files for computer playback using QTPro's "Export" feature. However most of the actual work will be done on Windows. Due to the video content I want still frames to display just one field, not a blend of the upper and lower fields. Using H.264 and ticking the "deinterlace" button does not work, even if I have previously set "single field" in the source video and saved as self-contained.
I can get it to work properly using Visual Hub, so the technology is there. But is there a way to get my colleague on a Win box to achieve the desired result?
    TIA

If you input 1080i, then both fields are simply combined into one frame. In iMovie 08/09 DV had one field dropped leaving a low rez "frame". With 1080i, the odd field is always dominant. With DV, the even field is always dominant.
I don't do much HD work. But for DV I would use iMovie 06.
iMovie 08/09 uses 'single field processing' meaning every other horizontal line of the video is thrown out, which reduces the sharpness of the footage. iMovie 06 uses ALL of the image to form the video.
If your primary workflow is editing DV clips and making DVDs, iMovie '06 is better suited. Your movie will arrive at iDVD in DV format, which is an ideal match for making a DVD: same resolution, same pixels aspect ratio, and original quality. If you share your movie from iMovie '08 / 09, it gets re-rendered at 640x480 or less, and then iDVD upscales it back to 720x480. The end result is obviously not as good.
iMovie 06 and iDVD 08/09 is a terrific combination.

  • Display values of a single field in a multiple rows in a table region

    Hi Tech-Gurus,
I want to display values of a single field ( which is in a table region) in multiple rows and also need to restrict the values from decimal number. If i click save, then it will throw exception "Decimal not allowed".
    xxxxxx
    yyyyyy
    Reg.No
    1234
    5678
    7654
I need to display the values of REG.NO in different rows like,
    1234
    5678
    7654
and also need to validate as well against Decimal values.
Please help me with the code how i will iterate ?

    Hi,
I am assuming you are talking about displaying substrings from the Reg No in different rows. For this you would need to write a query which identifies the substrings and creates a separate row for each (ensure you choose values for all other columns in the table row). Kindly let me know if the understanding is incorrect.
To validate against decimal value you can use the java code by checking the difference of the number and the number on which modulus has been applied. Hope that helps.

  • How to update a single field in Word macro

    Hello,
I am trying to create an AutoOpen() macro that will update the file name and path when user opens in a Word document, but I can't seem to find anything explaining how to update a single field, specifically the {FILENAME \p} field.  There
are other fields in the document, so I do not want to update all the fields.  Most of the links I found only explain how to update ALL fields. Can somebody please tell me how I can update only the filename and path field using an autoopen macro?
    Thank you

    Stefan's response is correct.
Here is a macro that should update only filename fields.
    Sub FileNameFieldUpdateAllStory()
' Written by Charles Kyle Kenyon 15 November 2001 - modified for filename 10 Sept 2014
    ' repaired by Jezebel
' All Story Field Updater - Filename fields
    Dim oField As Field
    Dim oStory As Range
    ' On Error Resume Next
    For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
' This goes into headers and footers as well as the regular document
    Do
    For Each oField In oStory.Fields
    If oField.Type = wdFieldFileName Then
    oField.Update
    End If
    Next oField
    Set oStory = oStory.NextStoryRange
    Loop Until oStory Is Nothing
    Next oStory

  • How to change the screen element of a single field in a table control

    Hi Gurus,
I want to change the screen element of a single field (or the whole row) in a table control according to a condition.
I have 2 columns in the table control. One is an input column and one output only. When user enters values into the input column, they need to be compared against the values in the other column, and if there is a discrepancy, the row where the discrepancy is needs to be highlighted.
I have tried the following code which highlights the whole column ...
CONTROLS: TC_ZVOYG_BINS TYPE TABLEVIEW USING SCREEN 0500.
DATA: wa_tc_zvoyg_col LIKE LINE OF TC_ZVOYG_BINS-cols.
      LOOP AT G_TC_ZVOYG_BINS_ITAB
               INTO G_TC_ZVOYG_BINS_WA.
        if G_TC_ZVOYG_BINS_WA-zdelivery_bin ne G_TC_ZVOYG_BINS_WA-zactual_bin.
          loop at screen.
            IF screen-name = 'ZVOYG_BINS-ZACTUAL_BIN'.
              wa_tc_zvoyg_col-screen-intensified = 1.
              MODIFY tc_zvoyg_bins-cols FROM wa_tc_zvoyg_col TRANSPORTING
              screen-intensified WHERE screen-name = screen-name.
            endif.
          endloop.
        endif.
      endloop.
And also the following code which makes no change ...
      LOOP AT G_TC_ZVOYG_BINS_ITAB
               INTO G_TC_ZVOYG_BINS_WA.
        if G_TC_ZVOYG_BINS_WA-zdelivery_bin ne G_TC_ZVOYG_BINS_WA-zactual_bin.
          loop at screen.
            IF screen-name = 'ZVOYG_BINS-ZACTUAL_BIN'.
              screen-intensified = '1'.
              modify screen.
            endif.
          endloop.
        endif.
      endloop.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The modification of a screen element attribute (LOOP AT SCREEN...MODIFY SCREEN) must always be done in the PBO (for a dynpro, it will be in a PBO module, i.e. declared by MODULE ... OUTPUT)
About the loop at the internal table, it is done automatically by the system, also during the PBO, you'll find something like LOOP [AT itab] ... WITH CONTROL ...  in the PBO part of the screen flow logic (note: you may have to complete with a supplementary READ TABLE if you don't use AT itab). So you don't need an additional loop.
    Best regards

  • How to prevent the logging of a single field in XI ?

    Hi Guys,
we have developed the interfaces for payment card services using the Enterprise services and the major problem what we are facing is to prevent the logging of the 3 digit security code in XI.
According to the payment card industry standards you should not store it as well as you should not encrypt this 3 digit CVV code.
Is there any way we can prevent the logging of this single field in XI ?
Is it possible if we develop our own custom adapters then we can acheive this ? Do we have full control over the DB in the custom adapters?
any help or suggestions or other alternatives would be really appreciated. I want to hear some solution from the experts.
    Thanks in advance,
    Srini

    Hi Beena,
You can encrypt the credit card no and SSN and that should not be a problem, but you should not store or encrypt the CVV no.
as i said we have our own tools many customers are using with respect to RFCs where you can encrypt and decrypt the card numbers and also not storing the values of CVV.
The above scenario works fine with no issues and it is according to the PCI standards. If you use PI 7.1 and use adaptive controlling the values are stored at a single place ie you can acheive single persistance and even this will not be our solution.
Advanced Adapter Engine Configuration in PI 7.1
with the single persistsnce, if there is a adapter module or custom adapter which takes the payload and prevents the stroage of the value of a single field then it would be our solution.
    Thanks,
    Srini
