Export tables to excel

I had the free trial of Acrobat 9 pro and I was able to export tables to Excel without any issues. Bought Acrobat 9 and now I am not able to get the tables exported. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is pro that much better for exporting  tables?

The trial and full version are identical except for the licensing aspect. General export to Excel was not available until AA XI, so I am not quite sure how you were exporting. In XI, it is simply going to File>Save As>SpreadSheet. In AA 9, the typical process was to select the columns desired with the select tool (use the alt key to allow the selection) and copy the columns to Excel. Adobe has not sold AA 9 for over 4 years as I recall. I did finally get AA 9 to come up on a machine and they did have a save as/export to XML (spreadsheet). However, the use of the alt key with the select also worked. As I recall, there was a way to copy in multiple columns too, but I am too rusty with 9 to remember.
The problem may be the format of what you are trying to export. You did not indicate what the problem of the export was and so it is hard to judge. What specifically is happening when you try to export a table. A screen shot might help.

    Sure there is a way. Learn ActiveX. There are examples that ship with LabVIEW.
    You'll need to read the relevant sections of the Excel Developer Reference for the version of Excel you have.
    I have linked to Excel 2013 version http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ee861528%28v=office.15%29.aspx

  • Acrobat 8 Pro Export Table to Excel

    Using Professional 8 and I cannot seem to get this table in PDF exported to Excel or any other format I can open in Excel.  I've read and followed multiple help files out there but the selections I'm supposed to have aren't available...
    I set my page to continuous view.  I am using the proper select tool.  I select from upper left to bottom right on a single page.  I mouse over highlighted word and right click.  I do NOT have the "open table in excel" option.
    I also tried Advanced / Accessibility... but "Add Tags to Document" is greyed out.
    This is not a scanned document. It's clearly a table.
    I've tried copy / copy with formatting from my right click menu but when I paste in Excel, it's not in a format I can use the "text to columns" for because the columns are separated by only one space.  So it puts a column in between multiple words in a single column.
    HELP!
    Thanks in advance!

    There are options called "Copy as table", "Save as table" and "Open table as
    spreadsheet" (which will open the table in Excel), but you must select the
    table with Alt pressed down.

  • Any way to export table to excel file with leading 0s?

    I have to export about 50 excel files from different tables.  Some tables contain leading 0s in the columns.  If I use bcp to export to xls file, the leading 0s will be missing.  If bcp to csv or txt file, there will be no issue at all.  But I have to export to xls file in order to let client update that xls file and reload to tables again.
    Is there any other ways to do this task?
    Thanks in advance.

    Ok,  I played with it and fixed it on mine to work.
    Here is what you do.  Create a blank Excel file in Excel with a single header row with your column names in it, and then set the datatypes for each column in Excel to match your export type.  For the below, create an Excel file and in column A1, put "Name" and change the column to Type Text.  Then in B1 type Date and set it to type Date, then save the file as c:\Test.xls.  Then close the file in Excel.
    In SSMS execute the following:
    Code Snippet
    INSERT INTO OPENROWSET('Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0',
    'Excel 8.0;Database=C:\test.xls;HDR=YES',
    'SELECT Name, Date FROM [Sheet1$]')
    SELECT [Name], GETDATE() FROM msdb.dbo.sysjobs
    GO
     It worked perfectly in my environment.  Don't bother with BCP, just create a formated Excel File with a header row with your output column names and then save it.

  • In SSRS , after exporting report in excel,wrap text property for cell and freeze column for SSRS table header not working in Excel

    I am working no one SSRS my table headers are freeze cangrow property is false and my report is working perfect while rendering data on RDL and i want same report after exporting in Excel also , i want my table header to be freeze and wrap text property
    to work after exporting in my report in excel but its not working ,is there any solution ? any patch ? any other XML code for different rendering ?

    Hi Amol,
    According to your description, you find the wrap text property and fix column is not working after exporting into Excel. Right?
    In Reporting Services, when exporting to excel file, it has limitation for textbox.
    Text boxes are rendered within one Excel cell. Font size, font face, decoration, and font style are the only formatting that is supported on individual text within an Excel cell.
    Excel adds a default padding of approximately 3.75 points to the left and right sides of cells. If a text box’s padding settings are less than 3.75 points and is just barely wide enough to accommodate the text, the text may wrap in Excel.
    In this scenario, it supposed to be wrap text unless you merge cells. If cells are merged, word-wrap does not work correctly. If any merged cells exist on a row where a text box is rendered with the
    AutoSize property, autosize will not work. For the Fix Data Property, it can't be working in Excel. These are features when exporting to Excel. We can't change it because it's by design.

  • Workflow for exporting xml from Excel and importing into table in InDesign

    Hello,
    I have worked out how to get data from a .xlsx into a table in InDesign. However, the workflow is still a little clunky and I am looking for way to automate the process further. My current workflow is as follows (files can be download here: http://visual360.co.uk/xml.zip)
    xml is exported from .xlsx by mapping the schema (see what_I_get.xml)
    assign tags to table and individual cells in InDesign
    This is the clunky bit: edit the what_I_get.xml to:
    remove the indentation (this seems necessary as otherwise when I get to stage 4, all the imported text is also indented)
    add tag for table in InDesign (p10_table)
    add tags for individual cells (p10_c11 etc.)
    import the produced what_I_want.xml in the structure panel of InDesign.
    Can anyone point me in the direction of how to automate step 3 above?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

    Hi Mike,
    Thanks very much for the reply. I am not at all familiar with XSL/XSLT. I have given it a quick google and it seems like it could be quite a steep learning curve to master. Maybe if I explain the whole context here, it may allow you to point me in the direction of a tutorial that provides a step by step approach to achieve my final goal. Alternatively, you may be able to suggest a whole new workflow.
    I am in the process of updating this document: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/students/insessional/assets/documents/IS_Brochure_2014-15.pdf
    The tables on pages 10-21 contain lots and lots of repeated information. We want the layout to in this format so that each group of students has all the information relevant to them on a single double spread. However, the challenge of using this approach is that it is very high maintenance to ensure the duplicated information is kept in sync - even using a copy / paste approach.
    I was hoping to overcome this by using a single source of data (eg. a spreadsheet) which would then feed into the InDesign. This workflow seems to be overcomplicated by the apparent need to use xml as the "middle-man".
    Ideally, I would like to press the export button in Excel and get this information into the the correct cells in the tables on pages 10-21 without a significant amount of manual labour - after all, my reasons for investigating an automated approach in the first place was to avoid the manual entering of data ie. the scope for error...
    An alternative approach maybe to skip Excel altogether and just use .xml. However, I am not sure that this is possible as Indesign only seems to allow you to import each element once. Maybe you could correct me here...
    I am happy to invest a certain amount of time in developing this approach as once it is in place, it will save a huge of proof-reading time year after year, especially as inconsistencies still persist despite our best efforts to weed them out.
    If you could let me know your thoughts on this and maybe identify a tutorial that would help me, I would be extremely grateful.
    Thanks again!
    Nick

    Dear Graham
    I am already big fan of yours and using mail to many Addin from years from word 2007 to Word 2010 :) and still loving it and I use it for access re-authorization from Lines for application accesses . I tried and finally got understanding of the Extract to
    mail Addin and after tweaking excel - Text To columns and other few things finally i was able to get the required data - from morning to now :) I am happy to see your provided guidance
    Thanks alot - by the way why your Mail to many add-in is so slow now these days :) previous versions usually help me send 1000 emails in 10 minutes now it takes long time :)

  • How to export a table in excel (in JSP)???

    hi all,
    I am using AJAX functionality in jsp to export a table into Excel.But i don't want to use it as it gives a hyperlink whereas i want a button which should work similar to hypelink.
    I mean to say i want a saperate export button which should work similar to the hyperlink.
    if anybody has any idea abt it....plz reply it soon.......

    So what you want to do is redirect to a page when the user clicks the button?
    So just put the button in a form with the action attribute set to wherever the hyperlink points now.
    And in case the button is already a part of a form, then on the onClick() event of the button, change the action attribute of the form to this particular hyperlink target and then cause it to submit.
    That ok?
    Or do you want the Excel file you're generating to be sent to the browser causing it to popup a dialog asking the user to save or open? If so take a look here http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5170452&messageID=9655276

    and then change the file name extension from xls to csv. it should open properly in excel.
    Note that this is only excel csv file. if you want a proper excel excel file, then
    option one: build a html table with your data into a string and pass it to excel
    option 2: build excel xml using your data into a string and pass it to excel.

    Hi,
    You shouldn't use DataAttributeInfo as it is an internal object, if I'm correct.
    Use IWDAttributeInfo instead of DataAttributeInfo and it should work
    (See also API doc of IWDNodeInfo.iterateAttributes() at http://help.sap.com/javadocs/nwce/ce711sp02/wdr/com.sap.wdr/com/sap/tc/webdynpro/progmodel/api/IWDNodeInfo.html#iterateAttributes())

  • Problem While exporting HTML table to Excel(.CSV) in SharePoint 2010

    Hi ,
    I was exporting HTML table to .CSV file.
    Problem is if any field contains '>' or '<' symbol then after exporting to .CSV, it was showing like '&gt' and '&lt' and the code is  as below.
    //Export HTML table to CSV
    function toCSV() {
          var data = document.getElementById('reportstable');
          var csvData = [];
          var tmpArr = [];
          var tmpStr = '';
          for (var i = 0; i < data.rows[0].cells.length; i++)
            tmpArr.push((data.rows[0].cells[i].innerText || data.rows[0].cells[i].textContent));
          csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\t'));
          for (var i = 1; i < data.rows.length; i++)
            tmpArr = [];
            for (var j = 0; j < data.rows[0].cells.length; j++)
            tmpArr.push(data.rows[i].cells[j].innerHTML);
            csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\t'));
          var output = csvData.join('\n');
          SaveContents(output);
    //For saving the file
    function SaveContents(element) {
            if (document.execCommand) {
                var oWin = window.open("about:blank","_blank");
                oWin.document.write(element);
                oWin.document.close();
                var success = oWin.document.execCommand('SaveAs', false, "FilteredReport.xls")
                oWin.close();
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    According to your post, a problem occurred when you exported the HTML table to Excel(.CSV).
    The following code for your reference:
    function toCSV() {
    var data = document.getElementById('reportstable');
    var csvData = [];
    var tmpArr = [];
    var tmpStr = '';
    for (var i = 0; i < data.rows[0].cells.length; i++)
    tmpArr.push((data.rows[0].cells[i].innerText || data.rows[0].cells[i].textContent));
    csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\t'));
    for (var i = 1; i < data.rows.length; i++)
    tmpArr = [];
    for (var j = 0; j < data.rows[0].cells.length; j++)
    tmpArr.push(data.rows[i].cells[j].innerHTML);
    csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\t'));
    var output = csvData.join('\n');
    SaveContents(output.replace(/&lt;/g, '<').replace(/&gt;/g, '>'));

  • Problem while exporting ADF table to excel

    Hello,
    I have some columns of random size which are left padded with 0.
    now the problem comes when I export the table containing these columns to excel, excel remove all those zeros from left.
    eg: 000000003726819563(table column value) after exporting to excel shows as 3726819563.
    Along with this I also want the footer part of table in excel.
    For some of the columns I have summary filed(i.e. sum) at the footer of the table which I want to show in excel.
    Can someone please guide me through these issues.
    Thanks in advance.

    Take a look at this: http://adfreusablecode.blogspot.com/2012/07/export-to-excel-with-styles.html
    With this code you can export the footer: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22312971/adf-samples/ExportToExcelDemo/ViewController/src/view/ExcelBean.java
    Here is the entire demo project: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22312971/adf-samples/ExportToExcelDemo.zip
    I a few days I will update the above post.
    Hope this help.

  • Export table rows to Excel and save to BLOB field

    Hi all,
    I try to find out how export data from table to Excel file format and save the result to BLOB field in some other table.
    I know how to download report from Page by submit, but I need to process data and instead of returning result to user as Excel file - save it in BLOB.
    Also I found implementation on JAVA for the issue but actually I wanna study out - Is it possible to resolve this issue by PL/SQL and APEX API methods?
    So, any ideas :) ??
    Thanks,

    It is not very difficult.
    Here is the function I use to get a CSV file from a query :
    PROCEDURE get_query_result_as_csv_file(
         in_query    IN VARCHAR2,
         in_filename IN VARCHAR2)
    IS

         owa_util.http_header_close;
         -- download the file
         wpg_docload.download_file(l_blob);
    END;If you need to get the query dynamically from your report, you can try to get the source from the apex_application_page_regions table :
    SELECT region_source
    FROM apex_application_page_regions
    WHERE application_id = 111 -- replace with your application id
    AND static_id = 'static_id_of_your_report'Then instead of using wpg_docload.download_file, simply insert the BLOB into your table.
    Good luck.
    Yann.
