Export value errors
We made a form in our trial last week, but now that we have subscribed and uploaded it we get error messages about "export values". Reading the forum I see others have had this issue but no fix has been noted. It seems stupid that your trial is a different version than the full version. Will we need to completely remake our form?
Hi;
I responded in another thread where you asked about this, you can post your response to that here, what you descibe does not really make sense, nothing is different about the "trial" or full subscription, but I am also not clear on the steps you are using as noted in the other thread...
I am also not clear on your statement about export values error and others having the same issue but no fix noted, getting a message about "Export Values" when you import a PDF is not an error that blocks the import and is not an issue that there needs to be a resolution to, it is simply how the Import PDF feature works, export values are not supported and you are informed of this when your PDF has them and you Import into FormsCentral.
I'll wait to hear more from you.
Thanks,
Josh

"Missing parameter values" error on Export
Hi,
I am getting "Missing Parameter Values" error if all required parameter values are not passed in the report through application. Same error is not coming when all the parameters are passed.
And parameter window also not displaying if all parameters are not passed to the report for export option. (Parameter window displaying on preview option if all the parameters are not supplied).
I have tried both Report Viewer's ExportReport function & ReportDocument's Export function. But both are results same.
Software details:
Crystal Report created in Version: 10.0.0.533
.Net 2005
10.2 Crystal component. Crystal Runtime Version - v2.0.50727 and DLL Version - 10.2
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Thanks,
Venkateswaran.PGiven example is not working as expected.
1) Calling of ExportReport() function invokes the file Save As window to save the exported file eventhough exported path & file name supplied in the program.
2) After accepting the output file name, "Missing parameter values" error coming instead of displaying Crystal's Parameter window.
Below is the piece of code to export the output. I am calling Export() function if all the parameters are supplied by the application otherwise i am calling Viewer's ExportReport() fuction. Please have a look and let me know if any code change is required.
ReportDocument crRepDocument;
String m_strExportPath;
Boolean bUseRepViewExport = false;
if( crRepDocument.ParameterFields.Count > 0 )
if (m_Parameters.Count < crRepDocument.ParameterFields.Count)

Error message on importing "checkmark field contains export value"
This is an example of an error message I receive upon importing my document into FC. "The checkbox field Member Y contains an export value. FormsCentral will record the checked state, but will not include the export value."
I need to know how to fix this. I am working with a multi-page form where the data input on the first page needs to copy over to the other pages. Only the checkmarks are affected. I can find it Acrobat Pro options where it shows the export value for the checkmarks but I need to know what I need to change that field to say in order for my form to work.
frustrated. I'm wasting too much time on this.I have the same problem:
FormsCentral has successfully imported the PDF with the following exceptions:
The checkbox field 10000 contains an export value. FormsCentral will record the checked state, but will not include the export value.
The checkbox field DATA CENTRE contains an export value. FormsCentral will record the checked state, but will not include the export value.
How to solve? Do you send the form to [email protected]?
Many thanks! -
XML export returns ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
We have an application which enables users to download an XML file containing all 198 columns of HR data for a selected group of employees. This had been working under APEX 2.2 but under APEX 3.0 it now fails with ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error. I began eliminating columns in my SELECT until I got to about 124 columns, at which point it started working again. So this doesn't appear to be related to the 100 report column limit. Is this a 3.0 bug or was a new limit put in place for 3.0?
Hi Scott,
can you remember what the problem was in this case!?
I got a similar problem right now.
If my query contains more than approx. 7 rows, I get a "sqlerrm:ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error" error.
Less and equal than 7 rows it works fine and I get a nice formatted xls (xml) file.
Thanks for your help.

ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
In the above package there is a procedure called procedure excel_content which actuall prints the data in the spread sheet this is where the error is coming from there is a variable called vsql have declared it as clob to hold large string but still i am getting the same error when trying to pass a big string.
Please check the error and let me know.

FormsCentral is discarding dropdown export values when importing PDF form
I would like to disclose that I am fairly new to this process.
I have created a pdf from a word document. After creating the form portion in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and adding in javascript validations and calculations, sourced mainly from these community forums I am encountering an error when importing the form to FormsCentral. I have dropdown boxes that contain numbers (1,2,3, etc.) to select the amount of guests the recipient will invite. In turn, when selecting a certain number, the export value ($100,$200,$300, etc.) will show up in an adjacent text box stating in the amount it will cost.
This works fine in Acrobat, however when I import it I get a message:
FormsCentral has successfully imported the PDF with the following exceptions:
The choice field AddtD contains both display and export values. FormsCentral must discard the export values and this may cause existing calculations and validations to fail.
The choice field AddtG&D contains both display and export values. FormsCentral must discard the export values and this may cause existing calculations and validations to fail.
When it comes to efficiency, I am aware I may be doing things the tedious way. But I would like some insight on how to make the textbox more active in this scenario. I will include my properties / validations and calculations:
Dropdown box 1 (AddtG&D): Export values, as previously discussed
Text box 1 (TotalAddtG&D):
Validation Script:
// null filed value if entry is zero
if(event.value == 0) event.value = "";
Custom Calculation Script:
// Set this field value to the value of the combo box
event.value = getField("AddtG&D").value;
The same goes for Dropdown box 2 and Text box 2, as they are identical. Any help would be great!Well that simplifies it a lot, since all you need to do is multiply the field value by a constant amount in both cases. So the new calculation script could be:
event.value = 100 * getField("AddtG&D").value;
and for the other:
event.value = 45 * getField("AddtG&D").value;
though I'm not sure if that's the correct field name. -
Hello,
I am very new to JavaScript. I would like to create a checkbox with a numerical value variable activated if the box is checked. Unfortunately, I cannot use the 'Export Value' because I already need to use it for something else.
Any help is really appreciated.
Thanks,
RobynBrace yourself, here's your solution.
First of all, the export value of you checkboxes should definitly be the number of hours for the class since you will just add them up further.
Second, we will use the userName property for our second export value (its the field right under Name and its labeled "tooltip"). You will name the class there.
Finally, you need to name each checkbox with a number at the end starting with 1 all the way to 190. This will be used in loops. ("whatever.1", "whatever.2,....."whatever.190")
In the calculate event of "total hours":
var sum = 0; //declaring a variable that will be used in the loop
for (var i = 1; i <= 190; i++){ //this loop will scan through all your checkboxes
if (this.getField("whatever."+i).isBoxChecked(0) == true){ //if box is checked....
sum += Number(this.getField("whatever."+i).value); //.....add its value to the sum
event.value = sum; //display the total
Now for the course name field, we will use the same pattern in the calculate event
var courseList = new Array(); //declaring an empty array that will contain the courses
for (var i = 1; i <= 190; i++){ //this loop will scan through all your checkboxes
if (this.getField("whatever."+i).isBoxChecked(0) == true){ //if box is checked....
courseList.push(this.getField("whatever."+i).userName); //.....add its userName (tooltip) to the array
event.value = "You are attending these courses: "+courseList.join(", ")+"."; //display the array by turning it into a string and joining its items with ", "
You can try it out with just a few checkboxes at first. Don't forget that the loop mustn't go further than the existing field or you will get an error and the script will stop. Make sure no error show in the console (ctrl+J). -

for column cpy_ids i use a select list (named lov) with next query:
select nm d, ids r

When I run the page the error is shown.
When I use display as text (based on lov, does not save state), it does work...
The application was exported from dev to test, and in dev it did work without any problem...This is the output in toad:

Problem with error ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error string
Hi,
I am running a loop to just spool output data using 'dbms_output.put_line' and I keep getting this error after a few records. I resorted it and it happen at a different interval. Could it have to do with the length of the item I am trying to spool? Thanks.

Edited by: Purvik on Aug 25, 2009 11:59 AMThere is not a chance in the world, especially not knowing column definitions that I, and I suspect most anyone else, is going to wade through this much unformated code looking for an error you couldn't bother to copy in full.
Either tell us, specifically, the line on which the error is occurring or, better yet, start whacking stuff out of your code until you find the offending definition. That is certainly what I would do. Commenting out sections is a marvelous way to quickly find an issue.
Before you post again please read the FAQ. It will explain to you how to properly post and use the tags. -
I have a form which uses a customer form/report, drop downs etc..
the debug shows it running this statement
...Execute Statement: begin begin SELECT distinct initcap(RTRIM (LTRIM (e.surname, ' *0123456789-/:.?,'), ' *0123456789-/:.?,') || ', ' || RTRIM (LTRIM (e.first_name, ' *0123456789-/:.?,'), ' *0123456789-/:.?,' )) empname, e.ID bulk collect into wwv_flow_utilities.g_display,wwv_flow_utilities.g_value FROM dms.dms_employees@dmsprd e, dms.dms_employee_contracts@dmsprd ec WHERE e.ID = ec.emp_id and e.surname like '%%' AND :p75_date BETWEEN ec.start_date AND NVL (ec.end_date, :p75_date) AND e.brh_id = 3654 ORDER BY 1; end; end;
Then says
"report error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small"
Any Ideas?
Thanks

A select list is limited in size. I am not sure what the limit is but that is definitelly the case.The maximum size for the HTML generated for a select list is 32K.
86 options sounds on the low side to be hitting that limit, but there are other concerns to this as well. Scrolling through hundreds/thousands of options in a select list is a pain for users, and huge select lists produce bloated pages that impact load times and network bandwidth. That list of around 200 countries you find on many sites is about the sensible maximum length for a select list.
You should use popups.Indeed. -
The oracle application express environment is created by installing the HTTP Server on the windows server and the application express 3.2.1 components on the 11.1.0.7 oracle database on UNIX. The installation is successfully and have not seen any issues during the installation. After completing all the steps, when tried to login and click the application builder or workspace components, I see the error message
report error:ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number.
This error message is seen on most of the pages when trying to accessed and not able to understand the reasons behind it. Its a brand new environment setup and not even presented to developers to test it.
Below error message is always seen when trying to access most of the components like application builder, schema comparison and some other tabs. Please advice

Edited by: user589320 on Jun 9, 2011 5:17 PMI think its better you use APEX 4.x version ratherthan using old version.
You will get more features and some bug fixes and also it's easy for you to get some help when you need.

We face the above error in HTMLDB (APEX) application Ver 3.1.0. This occurs when we try to display more number of rows/records in drop-down list (LOV in tabular forms). We are able to display 200 records in LOV. When the list of records exceeds 230, we face the below error
report error:ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
the values listed in LOV are from tables (one of the columns in table)
Could anyone give us a solution?Hi
As you are using a tabular form, you could actually do the following:
1 - In the tabular form column's attributes, set the following:
Display as: Select List (query based on LOV)
Display extra values: Yes
List of values definition: SELECT null d, null r FROM DUAL
2 - Add a new page item and set it to generate your select list
3 - Create an HTML region with no template and use the following for its source:
<script type="text/javascript">
function loadList(c, l)
var s = document.getElementsByName(c);
var lItem = document.getElementById(l);
var lLength = lItem.options.length;
var k;
var j;
var x = lItem.innerHTML;
var v;
var o;
var z;
for (k = 0; k < s.length; k++)
z = s[k];
v = z.value;
z.options.length = 0;
for (j = 0; j < lLength; j++)
o = new Option()
o.value = lItem[j].value;
o.text = lItem[j].text;
z.options[j] = o;
z.value = v;
if (z.selectedIndex == -1)
z.selectedIndex = 0;
loadList("f05", "P1_MGR");
</script>
(Change "f05" and "P1_MGR" as appropriate to your column and your new page item respectively)
Now, when you load the page, the select list contains a null entry plus the entry already on the database. The javascript kicks in automatically, loops through every entry in the "f05" column, copies the existing value, replaces the select list with the new page item version and sets its value to the copied value.
Your new page item could be in a DIV tag that has a style of "display:none" to hide it from view.
