Exporting Data from one Server to Another server w/ Version Enabled Tables
Hi,
I'm currently having a problem with regards to Exporting data to another server. This is the Scenario:
Source Server is Production Server with all of its Tables in the Schema are Version-Enabled.
Destination Server is a Test Server.
I exported data from Production Server using EXP command. Then in my Test Server I imported my data using IMP command (I already created tablespace and user for the Schema).
Import is successful in my Test server but when I execute my queries, There are no rows returned.
I checked my _LT tables and it contains my data. but when I query from the View created when version was enabled, no result is returned.
Am I missing something when I exported and imported my Schema? Should I have included the WMSYS schema when I created the .dump file?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Stefan,
we tried using Export and Import using Data Pump.
expdp system/password@orcl full=y directory=dmpdir2 dumpfile=FULL_DB.dmp
impdp system/password@orcl full=y table_exists_action=truncate directory=dmpdir2 dumpfile=FULL_DB.dmp
Still the same result as using exp and imp. _LT tables have data but when you query using the View, no results are found.

Export data from one schema to another schema through sql
Hello.
I have 2 schemes. One is called MICC_ADMIN and the other one is called MICC_PROD. What I want is to export from MICC_ADMIN to import in MICC_PROD. I tried to do it with the Data Workshop tool, but one of the table has around 19.000 records, so it gets frozen when is trying to export the data. So I'm wondering if is there any way to do it through sql command. Thanks.
Regards, Bernardo.I am going to assume that you:
1) want to export DB objects from the source schema (MICC_ADMIN) to your target schema (MICC_PROD)
2) awant to export the data held in the aforementioned tables between the two schemas
Firstly, generate the relevant DDL for your DB objects (you can do this in APEX as well - Home>Utilities>Generate DDL then complete the wizard) and run the DDL script in your target schema.
Secondly, grant access to the relevant tables in the source schema to your target schema and compose DML insert statements to transfer the data from one to another (remembering to disable the relevant constraints/triggers during the process).
Thereafter, revoke access to your source schema.
You can, of course execute this in a single script, although better to do so in a test environment first if you can! -

Thanks SvenI found the solution in a message three above:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1184552&tstart=0
With
sudo kill -HUP `ps aux|grep 'servermgrd'|grep -v 'grep'|awk '{print $2;}'`
from the terminal ... and after any minute's later the problem was solved

Different ways to Transfer data from one database to another database
Hi all,
What are the ways to transfer data from one database to another database. With the following options, i Can transfer data as far as i know. Please
correct me if i am wrong or tell me if there is any other options are available.
1) Create database link/connection string and using this string and COPY command, we can transfer data.
2) By using Export and Import utilities.
I told first one to my interviewer, he told, its strange, by using, COPY command also can we transfer data ? As far as i know, we can transfer data. Am i right ?
Thanks in advance,
Paltransfer data from one database to another database. You mean store the data of one to another?
1) Create database link/connection string and using this string and COPY command, we can transfer data.every SELECT on a DB-link is transfering data. And you can have all kind of transfers and store on the e.g CTAS of materialized views or.... the SQL*PLUS COPY :
The COPY command is not being enhanced to handle datatypes or features introduced with, or after Oracle8i. The COPY command is likely to be made obsolete in a future release.
But there are many others. Check for ORACLE Streams, and the "COPY" your interviewer was mentioning is about the operating file system COPY right? That's transportable tablespaces.

Transfer of Data from one Database to Another
Respected Guys
Is there any way to transfer few fields from different tables located on a Database Server used by SAP to an other database used by an another application. The other database also have same fields and and Tables structure.
Both databases are located on different servers and are oracle9i.
Is there any way to transfer real time data from one database to another. If not then any way by which we can preiodically can transfer the data.
ThnxHi
U can use a <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/9c/d736b880c34f76b507bac7751a0474/frameset.htm">DBCON (Database Connection) tool</a>.
Here you should call another database and write SQL native code in order to transfer/read the data.

Move data from one cube to another cube
Hi,
I am on BW 3.5 and I have moved the data from one cube to another cube and found that the number of records in the original cube does not match to the newly created cube. for eg. if the original cube contains 8,549 records then the back up cube contains 7,379 records.
Please help me on what I need to look on and if in case the records are getting aggregated then how do I check the aggregating record.
Regards,
TysonDear tyson m ,
check with any update rules in ur transfer. If so check in it.
Just go through these methods for making transfer from one cube to another cube fully without missing data.
Update rules method
if it's updated from ods, you can create update rules for cube2 and update from ods
or you can try datamart scenario
cube1 right click 'generate export datasource'
create update rules for cube2, assign with cube1
rsa1->source system->bw myself, right click 'replicate datasource'
rsa1-> infosource -> search 8cube1 name
(if not get, try right click root note 'infosource'->insert lost node(s)
from that infosource, you will find assigned with datasource, right click and 'create infopackage', schedule and run.
Copy from
While creating the new cube give the cube name in the "Copy from" section. It would copy all the characteristics and Key figures. It would even copy the dimensions and Navigational attributes
Another option is:
The steps for copying the contents of one cube to another:
1. Go to Manage -> Recontruct of the new cube.
2. Select the "selection button"(red , yellow, blue diamond button).
3.In the selection screen you can give the technical name of the old cube, requests ids you want to load, from & to date.
4.Execute and the new cube would be loaded.
Its all that easy!!!!!!

Move data from one fs to another from a particular position.
Hi all,
i have a requirement where i want to move data from one field symbol to another from a particular
position.
I have a work area which contains string values. i have converted this string to hexadecimal value .
in this hex string m lukin for a position where '0A' occurs. Now i have to pick the string till dis '0A' value and move it to some other field symbol. Can anybody tell me how to do that.
The code i have written is as follows:
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs> TYPE x.
data: temp1 type string,
p_word type string,
temp2 TYPE string,
w_len TYPE i.
temp1 = wa_value-value. "this wa containd the value
w_len = strlen( temp1 ).
if temp1 cp '"*'.
ASSIGN wa_value-value TO <fs> CASTING TYPE x. " converting wa to hex value
DATA: VAR TYPE i,
COUNTER TYPE i,
line_feed_count type i,
temp_count type i.
VAR = strlen( wa_value-value ).
CLEAR: COUNTER, temp_count, line_feed_count.
WHILE COUNTER LE VAR.
IF <fs>+counter(1) = '0A'.
line_feed_count = line_feed_count + 1.
COUNTer = COUNTer + 1.
ENDIF.
COUNTER = COUNTER + 1.
ENDWHILE.
endif.
Now , i want to pick data from starting till the position it gets '0A' and then again till it finds another '0A'.
Thanks in advance.Hi,
As everyone has rightly pointed out, there is no direct way of transferring the data from one appset to another. However, there are definitely few ways of doing it:
1. Run export package. Export the data in flat file. Import the data using import DM package.
2. Export the data from the cube of your application in excel file. Then run the import DM package to load the data.
3. Run UJBR transaction in SAP. Take the backup of the transactional data. You will get few flat files. Run the import DM package.
All the above steps will work only if the structure of the applications in both the appsets is the same. Otherwise, you will have to modify the flat file before uploading the file.
Hope this helps. -
Move data from one Application to another Application.
Hi All,
I have a requirement to move data from one Application to another Application(we are working on SAP BPC 5.1/7.1 MS version).
Can anybody please mention all the possible ways to achieve it.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
VaniHi,
The best way to do this would be to use destination_app statement. Please refer to the below link from help.sap:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75/helpdata/en/79/b299446e02478fa5eca684d1297ef3/content.htm
Alternatively, you can definitely export the data from one application and import it to the second.
Hope this helps. -
What are the diffrent ways to copy data from one application to another?
Hi,
Can you guys tell me what are the different ways to copy data from one application to another application??
I know we can do it through script logic using DESTINATION_APP.
Is there any other way to copy data from one application to another application?
Please help me
Thanks,
CharlyYou can also call a custom DTSX package in SSIS via the datamanager.
there are at least 5 ways of transfering data in BPC between apps.
1. Through the front end (excel etc) via evdre/evsnds
2. Through Script logic using *Dest App
3. Using BPC's standard export dtsx package via DM
4. Using SSIS using BPC's custom SSIS tasks
5. Through Script logic using stored procs.
i am sure people will come up with more.
remember if you use ssis and move data into any table but the wb, you need to process the cube afterwards. -

How can I Move data from one column to another in my access table?
I have two columns, one that stores current month’s data and one that stores last month’s data. Every month data from column 2 (this month’s data) needs to be moved to column 1 that holds last month’s data. I then null out column 2 so I can accumulates this month’s data.
I understand how to drop a column or add a column, how do I transfer data from one column to another.
Here is my trial code:
<cfquery name="qQueryChangeColumnName" datasource="#dsn#">
ALTER TABLE leaderboard
UPDATE leaderboard SET points2 = points3
</cfquery>
Unfortunately, I get the following error:
Error Executing Database Query.
[Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in ALTER TABLE statement.
How can I transfer my data with the alter table method?I looked up the Access SQL reference (which is probably a
good place to start when having issues with Access SQL), and
it suggests you probably need a WHERE clause in there.
I agree the documentation is a good place to start. But you should not need a WHERE clause here.
Too few parameters. Expected 1.
If you run the SQL directly in Access, what are the results? At the very least, it should provide a more informative error message.. -
Hi,
I need to transfer data from one database to another database (both are identical databases).
1. Not transferring identity columns (primary keys). the destination table might have the same key.
2. keep the PK's and FK's relation b/w parent and child table
3. I have 4 levels
Example: tableA (col1 int identity(1,1) , col2, col3)
tableB (col1 int identity(1,1) ,
col2 , col3) -- col2 has the foreign key relation with tableA.col1
tableC (col1 int identity(1,1) ,
col2, col3) -- col2 has the foreign key relation with tableB.col1
tableD (col1 int identity(1,1) , col2, col3) -- col2 has the foreign key relation with tableC.col1
please advise me.

The geniusbar told me what to do, I understood but there is still a problem for me >:/ It's not showing up though. Like "device." Nothing is happening, and I tried as soon as I got home. Then after half an hour, then an hour, then 3 hours. My problem is that it's not showing up! It's stuck in recovery mode! There's still like 25% battery. So I have no idea why.

How do I transfer data from one iPhone to another?
How do I transfer data from one iPhone to another?
If your old device is an Apple using iOS 5 or later, and you have an iCloud account, you can transfer all your saved messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings to your new iPhone.
Here's how...
Connect your old Apple device to WiFi and to a power source.
Back it up to iCloud by going to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and toggling iCloud Backup on. The time it takes to ba ckup depends on how much data you have and on the speed of your internet connection.
iCloud backs up your device once a day. If it needs backing up before you transfer to your new iPhone 5, tap Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Do not start transferring before the backup is finished.
Turn on your new iPhone and complete the setup by selecting your language and country, and choose whether to enable Location Services. When prompted, choose your WiFi network.
When prompted to set up, choose Restore from iCloud Backup, tap Next, and enter your Apple ID and password.
Select the backup of your old device and tap Restore. Wait until the device has finished restoring from the backup.
When the restore process is complete, your iPhone will restart and be ready to use.
Connect your iPhone 5 to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup (such as music, videos, apps, and so on). You can choose the data that are synced by clicking the syncing tabs in iTunes.
