Extra Fonts in Pages

Can anyone point me to a reference which lists all the extra fonts which are installed by iWork 06, either Pages or Keynote or both?

Hi Tom,
anytime you install software via the installer.app
you can call up a list of all files to be installed
and where they will be placed on your system. In this
example, double click on the iWork installer package
(if you have it. Or are you dealing with a
pre-installation?). In the installer.app go to
File>Show Files. This works for all installations
that use the installer.app. The list of files is even
searchable.
For iWork 06, the package installs the following font
files in the following locations:
./Library/Fonts/Academy Engraved LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/Bank Gothic
./Library/Fonts/Blackmoor LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/BlairMdITC TT-Medium
./Library/Fonts/Bodoni Ornaments ITC TT
./Library/Fonts/Bodoni SvtyTwo ITC TT
./Library/Fonts/Bodoni SvtyTwo OS ITC TT
./Library/Fonts/Bodoni SvtyTwo SC ITC TT
./Library/Fonts/Bordeaux Roman Bold LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/Bradley Hand ITC TT-Bold
./Library/Fonts/Jazz LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/Mona Lisa Solid ITC TT
./Library/Fonts/Palatino
./Library/Fonts/Party LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/PortagoITC TT
./Library/Fonts/Princetown LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/Santa Fe LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/Savoye LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/SchoolHouse Cursive B.suit
./Library/Fonts/SchoolHouse Printed A
./Library/Fonts/Snell Roundhand
./Library/Fonts/Stone Sans ITC TT
./Library/Fonts/Synchro LET Fonts
./Library/Fonts/Type Embellishmnt One LET
Hope this helps.
Pardon me, this sounds useful but I am not quite following the instructions. If I "double-click" on the installer package will that not run it? Then you say "In the installer.app" I am not sure what to make of "in". Do you mean in Finder do this? Sorry to be so dense, but I really want to understand this. Cheers!

  • Is there a way to permanently set a font in pages?

The default font in pages is Helvetica.  Every time I start a new document, I have to change it to Times New Roman.  Is there a way to permanently set the font as Times New Roman so that I do not have to do it every time.  Thanks.

You need to create your own default template. Open the blank template & set up your document with the line spacing, margins, headers, etc. as you'd like. Redefine all of the paragraph & character styles to have your desired font. You can set default wrap for any object as well as many other settings. Insert a table, click in it & choose the font, size, color, etc. you want in the fonts panel or format bar. You can do similar changes to inserted objects & text boxes. While you're at it resize the box if you want, set the amount of extra space in the wrap inspector, etc. Delete each text box, object & table after you've set them.
Now, save this document as a template & select that template as default in preferences. If you decide to make any changes to the template down the road, just Save As Template again with the same name & replace the previous version. All of your new documents will have these settings for inserted objects, images & tables. Unfortunately, the settings won't apply to any other templates or "foreign" documents you open with Pages.

  • Getting Appleworks fonts to Pages

I finally have broken down and gotten Pages to replace all my AppleWorks documents, of which there are many. There are a number of fonts in Appleworks that are different in Pages or not there.  Is there a quick way to get them into Pages.  I seem to forget how to do this as I'm getting old now.
    Thanks.

If the fonts are in their default locations, they should be available to all applications.
I assume you want the Appleworks Extra fonts to be available?
    They can be found at
Applications > Appleworks > Appleworks Extra Fonts
    Move them to either the fonts folder in your Home folder (reccomended);
    Home > Library > Fonts
    or the main fonts folder;
Macintosh HD > Library > Fonts.
Open the source and destination folders in seperate Finder windows and check for duplication first (unlikely in the case of the AW fonts).
    Have a read of Kurt Lang's excellent article on font management, too;

  • Is there a way to download additional fonts into Pages? If so, where can I find them?

I was wondering if there was a way to add new fonts to Pages. I recently purchased a new iMac that came standard with Pages. I'm resisting the urge to install Microsoft Word as I prefer Pages in many ways. However, I'm frustrated that I can't use/find any unique fonts to add to Pages like I can do with Microsoft Word. I create documents that I sell online and would love to be able to only use Pages for this purpose. Instead I find myself having to reformat documents in Word just to get the font I want.

    Hi stephanie,
Go to the App Store and type Fonts into the Search bar. You will see a large array of fonts you can download. Many of them are free. I downloaded the MacFonts Holiday fonts last year, and they show up anywhere I have a font dropdown.
With any of the MacFonts, you just download it, then follow the instructions for moving them into your FontBook app.
    Cheers,

  • How can I add a new font to pages?

I want to add a new font to page.  How do I do that?

Download new fonts from the Internet (e.g. 1001fonts.com), and then open the file once downloaded. This will launch the application FontBook. It will ask "Install the font?" Click "OK", and you will be able to use the new font in Pages, TextEdit or other word processors. (You may have to re-start the application for it to recognize it.)
Bonus info: pressing command–t in many applications opens you computer's font control panel.

  • How do I recover a "lost" font in Pages?  The font file appears to exist in my MS Office area.

How do I recover a lost font in pages?  The font management process seems very opaque, lots of areas on the hard drive with font folders.  None seems to match the list of fonts I can pull down from the font menu in Pages.  At the moment, the font I need is Century Gothic, which does reside in the MS Office area, but nowhere else that I can find.  Would greatly appreciate help!
    thanks much,  Eilert

Thanks for the idea, fruhulda.  I just checked (Jul 18) and the "missing" font is there.  However, yesterday I tried a full restart of my computer, and it seemed to fix (?) the problem, so I still am not sure what happened.  At any rate, the problem is now gone.

  • How do you add fonts in pages?

How do you add fonts and clip art in pages? I seem to have few fonts in pages. New to Mac. Thanks! Also seems that there is no clipart in pages? If there is, where can I find it?

On the Mac you add fonts to the System by double clicking on them, they then get opened in Font Book where you can open/close and organise them.
Most ClipArt offered with other applications is rubbish. Apple has left it to you to source your own, better material. This may help:

  • Why am I unable to use some fonts in Pages '09 since upgrading to Pages 5?

I upgraded to the new Pages and regretted it immediately because it doesn't have a lot of features I am used to and which I need. (The marketing blurb only mentioned what it could do, and omitted to mention how many functions had been removed, otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded.) As a result I decided I wouldn't use Pages 5 until it (hopefully) catches up with the functionality of the older version.
However, the upgrade appears to have done something to corrupt some of my fonts in Pages '09. This means that files I created in Pages '09 cannot now be printed because I get 'gobbledegook' instead of the font I chose (Academy Engraved for one).
I can set a new document in Pages 5 in Academy Engraved but if I then export it into Pages '09 it reverts to gobbledegook. I cannot simply replicate my old Pages '09 files in Pages 5 because the functionality I need isn't there. So I have a lot of files in Pages '09 that I can't print, and I am very frustrated.
I have validated the Academy Engraved font in Font Book and it was fine. Can anyone suggest anything else I can try please?
    Many thanks.

Thank you for that, but I'm afraid I muddied the waters by mentioning that alert. I am aware of Gatekeeper, but the point was it was a Pages document not an app so I shouldn't have got that message at all. If anything, I should have got the "You need a newer version of Pages" message. However, I'll live with that one for the time being.
It's the font problem that I'm really concerned with. If I open a new document in Pages '09 I can no longer use Academy Engraved font, it just looks like gobbledegook. Neither can I read Academy Engraved font in any of my old Pages '09 documents. However, Academy Engraved font works fine in Pages 5. So by upgrading needlessly to Pages 5 I can no longer use Academy Engraved in Pages '09. That's my main problem.

  • How to add fonts in Pages 5.01 Mavericks???

    Hi,
How do I add fonts to Pages 5.01 (Mavericks)???
    Is this possible?
And if it´s not too much, where would I find compatible fonts?
Thanks very much in advance for all suggestions!

You don't add fonts to Pages - yu ad them to OSX. Here's a how-to:

If you Google Fonts for Mac, you'll find many possibilities. Be aware that (mostly) the really good quality fonst cost money

  • Problem with Interstate font in Pages

When I use Interstate as a font in Pages, a " shows where a hard return is given (1st visual). This does not happen when using other fonts (2nd visual).
How do I get rid of the " when using Interstate?
    Kind regards,

    IOS 10.9.5
    Pages 5.2.2

Sorry I misread your post and have just been checking out the Interstate font.
Where did you get it and what version do you have?
I got a free Tobias-Freer Jones version from µfont, and checked that it has both the inch and foot marks and the "curly" quotes, which it does.
This then comes down to what you have in the Menu > Apple > System Preferences > Keyboard > Text > Auto-substitution

  • Fonts for Pages - Cyrillic

Hello, were I can get the different Cyrillic Fonts for Pages?

    Razamanaz
You don't need any specific Cyrillic fonts for Pages, virtually all OSX fonts have Cyrillic.
Just set your keyboard to whatever Cyrillic language you are using:
+System Preferences > Personal > International > Russian should already be in the list > Move it to the top of the list+
If you need any other keyboards:
    +International > Languages > Edit List… > check the languages you want+
For more quality Cyrillic fonts, any of the major font publishers' Open Type (otf) collections will do, with Parachute Fonts particularly specialising in Cyrillic with suberb designs.

  • Loading MT Extra font from MS Office 2008 dmg

Hi all. I recently installed MS Office 2008 for Mac, but chose not to install the fonts because I did not want to corrupt my iMac. I do, however, need one of the fonts that MS Office has, namely the MT Extra font (for Equation Editor). Does anyone know how to safely install it from the MS Office dmg? Thanks.

This question is completely relevant. I fail to see how font compatibility between Windows and Mac OS X doesn't belong in this section.
OP, if you're worried about downloading fonts as part of the Office package, try downloading it separately either by searching from Google or using this link:
    http://www.searchfreefonts.com/free/mt-extra.htm
It's less likely to cause you problems. However, there are applications available should you want to check for corrupt fonts on your Mac.

  • How to add missing garamond font in pages on ipad2

    Hi,
Just wonder if anyone might be able to help me out. I have recently downloaded pages on my iPad2 running on IOS5 because I'd like to be able to use it to work with word documents. I noticed that in pages, there is no garamond fonts from the font drop-down list. Is there any way I can insert the garamond font into pages?
The other things I have noticed from working word documents in pages is when it comes to bullet points in the content, it actually adds more space between lines of text. Because I was playing to see if I can open and edit word docs from pages and send them back to my PC which has got microsoft word 2010. When I compared them, there were a slightly different in the document (before and after). Apart from the bullet points issue, I do not see anything else that may cause discrepancies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

You can't add fonts to the iPad. Sorry.
