Extracting from table based on conditions from two internal tables

Hi,
     i to have select few records from a table based on conditions from two different internal tables. How can I achieve this.?
ex:
      select objid from HRVPAD25 into table t_pad25
                                                where PLVAR = 01
                                                            OTYPE = E
                                                            OBJID = itab1-sobid
                                                            sobid = itab2-pernr.
How can this be written? can i use "for all entries..." addition with 2 tables?

you can use exactly one internal table in the FOR ALL ENTRIES clause. Consider this alternative:
data:
itab_sobid_hash like itab1 with unique key sobid,
ls_pad25 like line of t_pad25.
sort itab1.
delete adjacend duplicates from itab1 comparing sobid.
itab_sobid_hash = itab1.
select objid
into ls_pad25
from HRVPAD25
for all entries in itab2
where PLVAR = '01'
and OTYPE = E
and sobid = itab2-pernr..
read table itab_sobid_hash with table key sobid = ls_pad25-objid.
check sy-subrc = 0.
append ls_pad25 to t_pad25.
endselect.
You may decide if itab1 or itab2 is better used as hashed table. Make a performance test.
The critics will tell you that SELECT ... ENDSELECT is not performant. That was very true, back in last milleniums's 90ies

Deleting rows from one table while filter condition lies into another table

Hi All,
I'm facing a problem deleting a row from a table where the condition lies in other table. To ealaborate the scenario further let's say I have two table T1 (transaction table) and T2 (Master Table). I want to delete a record from table T1 by checking some conditions lies in table T2.
I tried with the below query but this query deleting records from both the table.
DELETE FROM ( SELECT * FROM T1 top INNER JOIN T2 tp
ON top.TID = tp.TID
WHERE top.DEAL_SITE_ID = inputparameter1
AND (TP.SEGMENT <>inputparameter2 OR tp.segment is not null));
Here the record is getting deleted from both the tables but I don't want to delete data from my master table i.e table T2.
Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

ALV would be having a specific layout say :
MATNR
MAKTX
QTY
Now, if you have two internal tables, then do they have a different structure. If they have different structures, then what kind of ALV layout you expect. The ALV output should be as per the structure of 1st or 2nd internal table.
If both internal table have same layout, then populate the data from 2nd internal table into 1st internal table and pass the 1st internal table ( it will have data of both internal tables) to ALV.

Update table based on values from other table

Hi,
I am trying to update one table based on the values of another table. Since you can't use From in update statements, how do you execute this?
For example i have to tables, Table A and Table B. I want to update a column or columns in Table A based on another value in Table B:
So if the column in Table B was 1 then column in Table A would be Yes, if Table B was 2, then Table A would be Yes, if Table B was 3 then Table A would be N/A and so on...
Any help would be appreciated.

Check the names specified in the smartfrom and FM whcih you are calling in the driver program. Both might be different....

How to delete the matching records from two internal tables

I have two internal tables say A and B of the same type. If A has 10 records and B has 4 records , I want to delete the 4 records in B from A .
loop at B into wa .
delete A where key = wa - key .
endloop.
takes a long time if the table B is huge. how can I improve the performance.

Hi Gayathri,
You could try field-symbols. It reduces the data transfer from the internal table B to the work area.
field-symbols <fs_itab_b> like line of B.
loop at B assigning <fs_itab_b>.
delete A where key = <fs_itab_b>?-key.
endloop.

 MOVE: all LW fields to work area of ITAB1
 APPEND work area of ITAB1 TO ITAB1.
 DELETE ITAB INDEX W_INDEX
ENDAT.
ENDLOOP.
Basically what u r doing here is thet u r using processing event.
So whenerv VERME changes this event will be triggered.
Just try this out...something like this only will be he logic.

Collect data from a dynamic XML file into multiple internal tables

I need to convert the XML file into multiple internal tables. I tried many links and posts in SDN but still was facing difficulty in achieving this. Can some one tell me where I am going wrong.
My XML file is of the following type.It is very complex and the dynamice.
The following tags occur more than once in the XML file. The "I" and "L" tags and its child tags can occur ones or more than once for each XML file and it is not constant. i.e in one file they can occur 1 time and in another they can occur 100 times.
"I" and "L" are child tags of <C>

Tags <C> and <F> occur only ones for each XML file. <C> is the child tag of "A" and "F" is the child tag of <C>.

I need to collect <J>, <K> in one internal table KTAB.
I need to collect <J>, <N> in one internal table PTAB.

Now if I need to gather

Thanks for the effort!
But I don't need to use GUI upload because my functionality does not require to fetch data from presentation server.
Moreover, the split command advised by you contains separate fields...f1, f2, f3... and I cannot use it because I have 164 fields. I will have to split into 164 fields and assign the values back to 164 fields in the work area/header line.
Moreover I have about 10 such work areas. so the effort would be ten times the above effort! I want to avoid this! Please help!
I would be very grateful if you could provide an alternative solution.

After OPEN DATASET statement check if sy-subrc = 0 if its success then proceed with split statement and save the dataset values into a internal table and while debugging the internal table you will find that whether all values get into internal table.
Checking sy-subrc after OPEN DATASET statement is must to fill up the values in the internal table.
For e.g.
OPEN DATASET p_inpfile FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
IF sy-subrc NE 0.
    WRITE :/ 'No such input file' .
    EXIT.
ELSE.
READ DATASET p_inpfile INTO loc_string.
      IF sy-subrc NE 0.
        EXIT.
      ELSE.
        CLEAR loc2.
*Spliting fields in the file-
        REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF '#' IN wa_string WITH ' '.
       SPLIT wa_string AT const INTO loc2-pernr
                                       loc2-werks
                                       loc2-persk
                                       loc2-vdsk1.

Store the vital info from the absence quota record in an internal table

Hi experts,
I want to detrmine if the Absence records (PA2001 rec) deduction from date (PA2001-BEGDA) and absence to date (PA2001-ENDDA) are permissible for the validity period of the Absence Quota record (the PA2006 rec). If the quotas deduction from date, PA2006-DESTA, is greater than the PA2001-BEGDA, we then need to identify this absence quota record for change and change the deduction from date, PA2006-DESTA, to be the same as PA2001-BEGDA. Store the vital info from the absence quota record in an internal table and record the new date that the deduction from date that needs to be changed to. The changes will be made via a BDC session.
Please help me out...

This looks possible if we code it in 'dynamic action' table, but the BDC may not read it during run time.

Using for all entries of two internal tables in where clause of the select

Hi experts,
My requirement is, need to select Marc-minbe and wrpl-sobst, for all the entries of the two internal tables it_mara , and it_t001w.
here is the select queries i have used,
select matnr normt from mara into it_mara for all entries in it_data where normt = it_data-normt.
select konnr werks from t001w into it_t001w for all entries in it_data where konnr = it_data-konnr.
now i need to select minbe of marc table and sobse of wrpl table for all the entries of above internal tables, it_mara and it_t001w, using both matnr of it_mara and werks of it_t001w in where condition.
Pls advise how i can do it.

The problem is in the first internal table It_final contains more that one record for a particular EBELN and EBELP.
EBELN EBELP CNTYPE TAX.

 JIP2 130.
BUT I WANT ONLY ONE RECORD PER EBELN AND EBELP COMBINATIO. LIKE THIS IN THE SECOND INTENAL TABLE IT_FINAL1.
