Extracting XML tags and its values using ORACLE PL/SQL
I need help to create a procedure that receive a XML string and insert it into the table after parsing it.
If the XML has 10 tags then it should insert into the table 10 rows. Table will be having tag name and value. This will be plain XML tags without attributes in tags.
Hi,
I am able to retreive the values of the tags using extract function (example: lv_xml.EXTRACT ('/ROWSET/EMPLOYEE/EMPNO/text()').getstringval() ). But could you help me to find some way to extract the tags also since we have no idea what the tags are and how many tags are there, in advance.
Anybody's help will be a releif!
Thanks in advance,
Leslie

Is there any function module to get vc characteristics and its value using material number?
Hi Experts,
I am using BAPI_CLASS_GET_CHARACTERISTICS, BAPI_OBJCL_GETCLASSES to get characteristics description and its values.
Is there any other Function module to pull this values using material number?
Thanks in Advance.
RamkumarHave you tried this BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL
Import parameters
MATNR value in the OBJECTKEY
MARA in OBJECTTABLE
Class name in CLASSNUM
'001' in CLASSTYPE
You will get the Class Characteristics data into these tables:
ALLOCVALUESNUM
ALLOCVALUESCHAR

ho can I extract the xml tags and its value in a java programs
Check out the API docs for javax.xml and javax.xml.parser. If you want to parse via DOM (IMHO, the easiest way to learn), then download Xerces from xml.apache.org. There are numerous FAQ's and HOW-TO's on that site.

Generating target XML tag from a value in the Source XML document
Hi there,
I have a scenario where the following transformation needs to occur:
Source Message...
<Catalogue>
<key>abc<\key>
<value>123<\value>
<key>def<\key>
<value>456<\value>
<\Catalogue>
Target Message...
<Catalogue>
<abc>123<\abc> --> Value of KEY becomes the XML tag and the VALUE gets assigned to it
<def>456<\abc>
<\Catalogue>
The target message is written to an xml file using the receiver file adapter.
I would like the target message generation to be dynamic so that when a new key-value pair is added, it would not require a change in the XI mapping layer. Is there a way to accomplish this without having to code or enhance the adapter. I am trying to avoid doing this in the mapping because that would mean changing the mapping every time a new key-value pair needs to be added.
Any suggestions to accomplish this are welcome.
Thanks all.Hi,
I doubt if it will work for you. you can generate dynamic values using this but not tags dynamically. You need to see if there are any methods to generate tags dynamically.
One way of doing this is by using Java Mapping and playing around with InputStream and OutputStream.It will work for sure with this.
Thanks

Function to extract characteristics and its value from PI sheet
Hi experts,
I am working on a report to generate Avg. deckle for the month form the PI sheet. In the PI sheet the data that is displayed is basically the message characteristcs and its value.
Please tell me ne function that will give me the related data to be displayed.
Thanks in advance..reading the characteristics: CAVC_DB_READ_CFG_IN_CBASE.
reading the values according to the characteristics: CARD_CHARACTERISTIC_READ.
Note: the second FM is obsolete according to SAP. but it still works in opposition to the new ones. -
Want to include ?xml tag and schema when creating XML
My database table that need to be generated in to XML are large and therefore I must use OracleXMLQuery.getXMLSAX . The output is missing the <?xml version="1.0" ?> tag. How do I get it? I am on 9i but have imported the .jar containing oracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLSAXSerializer from 10g XDK.
Also, I want the schema to be written next, before the actual XML table values.
I know that a command line parameter exists, which works for small XML files:
java oraclexml getxml -user "scott/tiger" -withDTD "select ....
How do I get the equivalent of '"-withDTD" when using
OracleXMLQuery qry = new OracleXMLQuery(conn, "select * from "+table_name );
qry.getXMLSAX(myStream);
myStream.flush();
Thank you,
ElaineNo. Actually, I can get the <?xml tag and DTD if my select statement contains 'where rownum=0', as the resultset is small which lets me use getXMLMetaData() .
I write it to one output file, then do another OracleXMLQuery, repeating the select statement without the where clause, and run that through getXMLSAX to get the detail.
Next, I need to scrub the data of special characters acceptable in the database but which cause problems to a browser or XML validator. (e.g. accented characters).
Finally, I will concatente the two files.
Is there a simpler way to do this?
Thanks,

Display data to edit based on fields and its value defined in internal tabl
I need to display data in a internal table for editing in a screen.
you have a internal table with field name , data types and its value. I need to display data in a screen ( sceen painter not in a report) row by row in vrtical format.
The internal table's structure not fix. you can have any number of fields in the internal table.
Can you please send me code if it is available with you or send me any senario in SAP if any ...so that i can debug to extract the code..
have to display data vertically as below in editable format,
for example,
Airline
Flight Number
Flight date
Flight price
Airline Currency
Plane Type
Maximum capacity
Occupied econ.
Total
No of fields will change.
also F4 help needs to be attached with each field.
I think it can be done through step loop. can anybody give sample code or tell me where to find in SAP or somewhere else?
it will be great help to me..

How do I retain a PDF form widget's design when setting its value using Javacript in Acrobat?
I've been experimenting with interactive PDF forms in InDesign and JS in Acrobat. I think I've encountered something that might be a bug: widget design is overriden when using Javascript to set the field's value in Acrobat. Here's what a checkbox, for example, should look like when checked:
However performing:
var f = this.getField("Checkbox");
f.value = "Yes";
in the JS Console results in the widget's appearance defaulting to acrobat's:
I've tried every single widget property documented in Acrobat's Javascript API Reference to no avail. Initially, checking/unchecking using the mouse works fine. Once the value has been set using JS, Acrobat's default black check character is used for all subsequent toggling, including when using the mouse...
How does InDesign export interactive PDFs with custom icons for widgets? Is there any way to enforce the use of those icons using JS in Acrobat Pro? What's the difference between selecting a checkbox or a radio button using the mouse and setting its value using JS?I thought it might be the case, too, but all widgets have the same properties both before and after setting the value with JS. I did this check using all documented properties in Acrobat JS Reference in an attempt to figure out what might be going on.
By the way, I don't think Indesign necessarily uses glyphs for the checked state of widgets, although in this case a glyph is used (albeit with different stroke and fill colours for the glyph, acrobat doesn't allow setting these properties AFAIK). With Indesign CS6 it seems you can practically use any Indesign tool to design the widget's On and Off states. So I'm thinking that maybe Indesign exports these with button-like properties where there are no restrictions on appearance (I think there is an "icon" property/object for buttons or something like that). However Acrobat treats them as checkboxes, so if that is the case it is more of a hack. Is there a way to probe an object's various properties other than using JS or the properties pop-up dialog? -

I want to select a specific rectangular position from intensity graph to extract the x and y values
I want to select specfic rectangular postion from an intensity graph to extract the X and Y values at that specific position.
Is this possible using LabVIEW?
@nkHi nk,
Is this possible using LabVIEW?
Yes.
I want to select specfic rectangular postion from an intensity graph to extract the X and Y values at that specific position.
Just select the positions! What's your problem in doing so?
Btw. when you select positions you already know their XY values!? I don't get the point of your task...

How to swap column values using variable in sql?
Hi,
I have a table and i want to swap two column values using variable
please help meHi,
Let us assume that the DeptNAME and DeptNo columns are of type VARCHAR2. However, DeptNO column is VARCHAR2(10) and DeptNAMe is VARCHAR2(100).
First of all DeptNo column needs to be modified to be 100.
i) ALTER TABLE DEPT MODIFY DEPTNO VARCHAR2(100);
Secondly, you will swap DEPTNAME and DEPTNO values using the SQL as follows:
ii) update dept t1
set deptname = (select deptno from dept2 t2 where t1.deptno = t2.deptno),
deptno = (select deptname from dept2 t2 where t1.deptno = t2.deptno);
Now, finally you want the deptname columns to be VARCHAR2(10)
iii) ALTER TABLE DEPT MODIFY DEPTNAME VARCHAR2(10).
If DEPTNO is a NUMBER column, you cannot alter the datatype unless the table is empty; in that case the whole swapping requirement would be moot.
