Failed to extract data by OracleXMLQuery
Hi, Sir:
When I used XDK to extract data from Oracle8i. I received an error message.
Here is part of my codes:
String tblName = "sp_collect_open_master";
String optQry = "select count(*) from sp_collect_reason";
try{
DBConn dbConn = new DBConn();
OracleConnection conn = dbConn.getConn();
OracleXMLQuery oraqry = new OracleXMLQuery(conn,optQry );
If the statement is "select * from sp_collect_reason" , then it works fine. However, while I use SQL Function here in the statement, it won't work. What could I do now ? Please advise ! Thanks
try select count(*) myCount from ....

Extracting Data from Essbase using ODI fails with: Cannot calculate file.
I'm try to Extract Data from Essbase using ODI KM (LKM Hyperion Essbase DATA to SQL). I'm using
CalcScript for EXRACTION_QUERY_TYPE. CalcScript in my case resides on Essbase App directory, so I
just specify the name (i.e. FULLEXP) for EXTRACTION_QUERY_FILE. Before creating ODI interface
I ran CalcScript successfully from EAS. Also, ODI and Essbase are on different servers. ODI Agent
is not running on Essbase Server, but ODI Agent has access to file generated by CalcScript.
EPM Fusion Version 11.1.2.2. Essbase running in LINUX and ODI 11g running on Windows Server.
Created the ODI interface where source is my Planning Cube and target is a relational table using SYNOPSIS

1 - Loading - SrcSet0 - Drop work table
2 - Loading - SrcSet0 - Create work table
3 - Loading - SrcSet0 - Begin Essbase Data Extract.
I then fail at:

Error trying to extract data via HFM objects
I've written a program to extract selected data from HFM (version 11.1.1.3.500) using the API objects. The program (shown at the bottom of this post) is failing on the 2nd of the following 2 lines:
oOption = oOptions.Item(HSV_DATAEXTRACT_OPT_SCENARIO_SUBSET)
oOption.CurrentValue = lBudgetScenario
where oOption is a data load/extract object previously initialized and lBudgetScenario is the long internal ID for our budget scenario.
The error is usually "COM Exception was unhandled" with a result code of "0x800456c7", but, mysteriously, even with no code changes, it sometimes throws the error "FileNotFoundException was not handled", where it says that it could not load "interop.HSXServerlib or one of its dependencies". The second error occurs even though HSXServer was previously initialized in the program and used in conjunction with the login.
I've carefully traced through the VB.NET 2010 code and find that all relevant objects are instantiated and variables correctly assigned. It also occurred to me that the data load DLLs might have been updated when the 11.1.1.3.50 and 500 patches were applied. For that reason, I removed the references to those DLLs, deleted the interop files in the debug and release folders and copied the server versions of those DLLs to my PC. I then restored the DLL references in Visual Studio which recreated the interops. However, the error still occurs.
The ID I'm using (changed to generic names in the code below) has appropriate security and, for example, can be used to manually extract data for the same POV via the HFM client.
I've removed irrelevant lines from the code and substituted a phony ID, password, server name and application name. The line with the error is preceded by the comment "THE LINE BELOW IS THE ONE THAT FAILS".

oMetaData = oSession.Metadata
oEntityTreeInfo = oMetaData.Dimension(lDimID)
GetMemberID = oEntityTreeInfo.GetItemID(strMemLabel)
End Function
End ModuleI stumbled upon the solution to my problem. The documentation for extracting data via objects defines member ID variables as Longs. In fact, I've always defined such variables as longs in previous object programs and had no problems. It appears that the datal load/extract "option" property of "Currentvalue" is defined as integer. When I changed all of my member ID items (such as the "lBudgetScenario" variable that was the right-side of the failing assignment statement) to be integers, the program worked.

Error while extracting data from CRM
Dear all,
I have used some standard and generic datasources to extract data from CRM. These were working fine for more than a year and are scheduled in Process chains. For the past few days I am getting Caller 09 error as shown below, only for the generic datasources. I have checked the connection,replicated the datasources and activated them, reinitialized and have tried all the solutions that were posted earlier, but still the process chain fails. When I execute the process chain for generic datasources manually, it is working fine.
When I tried in RSA3 for both standard and generic datasources in CRM with update mode D, I get a message 'Error occured during the extraction',
Kindly suggest what can be the problem.
Error message from the source system
Diagnosis
An error occurred in the source system.
System Response
Caller 09 contains an error message.
Further analysis:
The error occurred in Extractor .
Refer to the error message.
Procedure
How you remove the error depends on the error message.
Note
If the source system is a Client Workstation, then it is possible that the file that you wanted to load was being edited at the time of the data request. Make sure that the file is in the specified directory, that it is not being processed at the moment, and restart the request.
Thanks all in advance.

Hi all,
Has anyone come across SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU8/9 failing to install with a “Failed to retrieve data for this request.” error.
The error is too generic for a useful search on web, for me at least anyway.
Had no problems patching a whole bunch of other servers in the same environment.
I’m no good at reading these error logs. For some reason the primary replica is referenced in the detailed log???
The CU8/9 patch has been run by both Domain Admins and local Admin with no luck.
We are trying to patch a secondary failover replica. (SharePoint 2013 is installed on this server.)
This is from the summary log:

IMO I strongly feel it is issue with the account. Microsoft has also documented about this for SQL Server 2008 .Have a look at following links

Please also assign privilege mentioned in below link

Pl/sql to extract data with form: extract data is a text file
Hi dear all,
to be straightforward here is the problem: we currenlty developing with oracle tools :" Developer Suite 10g version 10.1.2.0.2" an interface .
Using oracle forms, we would like to program a command button that will be in charge of pooling the data from the database and offer the client to save it on his desktop. The extracted data should be a one single flat text file having a one single continuous row. and the data extracted are from a 10 g database( one table having one column(varchar2(240); and 192 rows );
attached with this mail is ou current script link with the command " when-button-pressed"

thanks if advance !!!!!Hello,
what's your problem with this? You posted a lot of useful information like version infos and code (Hint: when you post code you can do this with the tags so it gets formated), but I cannot see what exactly is failing or behaving unexpected, so you might share that too ;)
cheers -
Is there an utilitity to extract data from a datapump file since impdp give
Hi,
meanwhile doing a reorganization, customer has exported a table of various GBytes with expdp and has dropped the table afterwards. The problem is that it recives an ORA-600 [klaprs_11] error related to corrupted file when executing impdp.
Customer now requires to recover so many rows as possible from the corrupted datapump export file. Is there any tool available to do this?.
Thanks.
Regards,
Alberto AragónPl post details of OS and database versions, along with the complete import command and the complete error message.

Extracting data from Essbase & loading into flat file through ODI
Hi,
I want to extract data from Essbase and load it into a flat file through ODI(for extraction from essbase I'm using a report script) and I’m using these KM’s:- LKM Hyperion Essbase data to SQL,IKM SQL to FILE Append & for reversing I’m using RKM Hyperion Essbase.All the mappings have been done and the interface has been made. But when I’m executing the interface it is throwing the error below:-
ODI-1217: Session ESS_FILEI (114001) fails with return code 7000.
ODI-1226: Step ESS_FILEI fails after 1 attempt(s).
ODI-1240: Flow ESS_FILEI fails while performing a Loading operation. This flow loads target table ESS_FILE.
ODI-1228: Task SrcSet0 (Loading) fails on the target FILE connection FILE_PS_ODI.

Please let me know what I'm missing and how I can resolve this error.
ThanksIt seems that you are trying to use the file as your staging areas. Hyperion LKM extracts essbase data into a DB staging area which can then be used by your file IKM to load it into file.
You need to use a RDBMS for your staging area. -
How to learn to extract data and group it
I recently met a guy who is looking to employ some folks. He got in touch with me in LinkedIn. I have done my research and I know he’s a real guy looking for people. I would like to get the job despite of the poor work conditions but I just feel the fear of failing or not being capable to do the job.
I know I have to try and it will be great if some of you could give some advice on how to do the job or how can I self-learn this. I'm ready to read books and follow instructions. Last year, I did a DBA internship so, I’m familiar with PL/SQL but I didn’t cover information on how to programme or gather data.
Here’s bit of the job information: "The work is to programme in PL/SQL to extract data and group it. You will learn how to make indexes and work with massive data. You will learn about programming performance in PL-SQL to extract data".
I have translated the job info from Spanish to English so, I hope you can get what I’m actually looking for. For the ones that can speak Spanish, this is what the guy wrote: "El trabajo es programar en PL/SQL para extraer datos y centralizarlos. Va a aprender a realizar índices y trabajar con datos masivos. Va a aprender mucho sobre performance de programación en PL-SQL para extraer datos".
Thanks! Gracias!

For this requirement, I would suggest you to get familiar with how to create VSTO applications, and how SharePoint object model works. Here are some sample code about this:

How to extract data from CLOB and insert them into DB?
Hi PL/SQL Gurus,
I have no experience in PL/SQL, but I have a requirement now where I have to use it.
We have a table with 10 columns, one of them is a CLOB and it holds XML data. The XMLs are very huge in size.
Two new columns are added to the table and the data has to be filled for the existing records from the corresponding XML. The XML has all the data as attributes. I started searching on the internet and tried if I could extract the data out of XML.
SELECT extractValue(value(x), '/Order/Package/@Code',
'xmlns:ns0="http://mycompany.com/Order/OrderType.xsd"' )
FROM ORDER_TABLE A
, TABLE(
XMLSequence(
extract(
xmltype(A.XML_DATA)
, '/ns0:Root'
, 'xmlns:ns0="http://mycompany.com/Order/OrderType.xsd"'
) x;
But this isn't working. Could anyone please provide some ideas.
I just want to confirm that I am able to extract data. Once this is done I would like to create a procedure so that all the existing records can be updated.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
FazzyCan this be acheived using a SQL statement.Yes, you can do it with the DML error logging clause.
Here's a quick example I've just set up :

3 package_code varchar2(30),
4 package_desc varchar2(100),

Extract Data Based on Year and Month
My clients have taken an Oracle DB TimeStamp field and
downloaded it to Access in a TEXT field format.
Sample data: 20060401001348CS
All I am trying to do is extract data based on year and
month. I have equal to 200604*, 200604%. Have also tried to used
LIKE.
Nothing works. It just can't be that dificult. Please help.
ThanksAfter breaking my inquiry down into bits and pieces the
problem is not just the LIKE, it is a combination of events. The
entire picture is this:
User selects Year from a drop down (2006), then selects month
from drop down (04). I then build a variable called
EventReport Date with the statement <cfset EventReportDate
= Session.InquiryYear & Session.InquiryMonth & "%">
It correctly displays as 200604% - When used by itself as
below, it works just fine.
WORKS
<cquery name="GetEventCount" datasource="CountyDB">
Select count(AD_ID) as EventCount, TYCOD, TYP_ENG, CURENT,
CDTS
FROM aeven
WHERE CDTS LIKE '#EventReportDate#'
Group By AG_ID, TYCOD, TYP_ENG, CURENT, CDTS
</cfquery>
WORKS (additional WHERE criteria)
<cquery name="GetEventCount" datasource="CountyDB">
Select count(AD_ID) as EventCount, TYCOD, TYP_ENG, CURENT,
CDTS
FROM aeven
WHERE ((AG_ID = '#Session.InquiryAgencyCode#') AND (CURENT =
'T'))
Group By AG_ID, TYCOD, TYP_ENG, CURENT, CDTS
</cfquery>
FAILS **** There is something wrong with the combination of
the WHERE clause items
<cquery name="GetEventCount" datasource="CountyDB">
Select count(AD_ID) as EventCount, TYCOD, TYP_ENG, CURENT,
CDTS
FROM aeven
WHERE ((AG_ID = '#Session.InquiryAgencyCode#') AND (CURENT =
'T')
AND (CDTS LIKE '#EventReportDate#'))
Group By AG_ID, TYCOD, TYP_ENG, CURENT, CDTS
</cfquery>
NOTE: There is not an error message, it just comes back with
zero records.
MORE LOST THAN EVER! Thanks for your help

Failed to read data from report file Reason: The table could not be found.
Any ideas to get around this would really help out.
RegardsConnection used Views, ODBC System DSN is setup properly.
Approach for import from business view manager and import wizard. both methods failed to import the Business View and underlying reports.
I figure I may have imported the Business View wrong? From Business View Manager I exported from my dev server then imported to prod server.
Apparently I learned exporting my business view also includes the Data Connections that the Business Views are dependent upon.
So which ever folder you specify it copies it there. Originally the all Data Connections Resides on the root folder. To return it to the original location. I deleted what I had exported. Exported this time to the root folder, then only deleted the business views, foundation, elements. Then exported again to the folder where I intended then only deleted the Data Connection.
Makes any sense? So I then had to re point the business views and all the dependent objects to the data connection that resides in the root folder.
I tested the connection, it works fine. I properly updated my crystal reports to the business view in production. Did a sample extract it works as expected.
However when i try to publish, either from Crystal or Publish wizard i get the same error?
As a work around i am thinking, after updating the business view in the crystal reports, shall i re map the fields?? or reexport the business views again?
Any help will be surely appreciated. -
Problems in extracting data from r/3
Hi Guys
I am extracting data from r/3(QA) to BW(QA), into an ODS. Now, my previous load failed but i saw from RSMO that the load had more than 4 million records. I am scheduled the load again. And in monitor(RSMO) it says:
(yellow symbol) 17:24:50 ( 762040 From 0 Records )
and in status, it says everything ok, no error, process is still goin on. And in details this is the last line at the moment:
"Transfer (IDocs and TRFC): Missing messages or warnings"
Data Package 29 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Selected number does not agree with transferred n
"Processing (data packet): Warning received"
Data Package 29 ( 23810 Records ) : Everything OK.
I am assuming that there are 100 packages like this in total. Will my data load into the ODS finally??
Thanks.Hi Chintai,
If you are extracting delta records, then you can view the number of records in RSA7.
I suggest you go to details tab of the monitor, you would be knowing the activites that are taking place..
Check if your transfer rules, update rules are done for atleast for few of the data packages.

Need to extract data - from USB 2.0 external disk
Ive tried Data Rescue II to no avail. I cant afford to buy another tool to use such as FileSalvage.
I was hoping somebody else in the Mac community knows of a freeware/shareware or otherwise inexpensive tool that can extract data....
Cheers and TIAjust for anyone following this thread, who may be experiencing a similiar issue here are more facts.
This is a USB 2.0 type external USB drive in a small plastic enclosure. Its got a 3 year warranty from manufacturer Simpletech.
It worked fine for 6 months. It appears to have failed - it was never accidentally erased. Ive used it weekly to backup my MacBook Pro.
Suddenly, this Simpletech 250Gb drive stopped being accessible. You would see the the (two) partitions mount, and correct volume names. One partition was made big enough to handle backing up a MBP- im my case a 100Gb partition. The latter partition was what was left over, or nominally, 150Gb. Upon connecting the USB 2.0 cable, you would see the volumes mount, with correct volume names and contents, but upon clicking (say a folder of text documents), the item would simply disappear from view. Further clicking on other items - say folder full of my pet pics, folder of music, folder full of pics of stuff I have for sale) those would disappear too.
Repair tools such as Disk Utility did and still do see the volumes and contents. But nothing more can be done to view or access any data within them.
Side note: DU has the "vulnerability" of not forcefully unmounting volumes - and will state when it cant do so. Unmount is a command and a process used by OSX to modify disk contents. The drive or partition icon would and should disappear from your desktop (momentarily), then DU can do its thing, hopefully to repair whatever is wrong. Same idea for erasing, unmount would still be needed. But if the partitions dont unmount via DU, you might be tempted to give up. Fortunately, you can go to Terminal and issue a command such as:
sudo umount -f /dev/get name of your disk from DU - get info (such as disk2/s5)
while this Terminal way of issuing unmount may work (and did for awhile for my faulty disk) no utility was able to repair my drive in any way shape or form. No erase command, no format, nothing nada.
So Im stuck with wanting to RMA this defective drive back to the manufacturer but have no way to erase the data.
Tried putting close to gigantic speaker - that didnt work at all.
Any suggestions ?
Simpletech has said they will replace it if I send it back. My data is seemingly trapped on this drive !
I tried:
Tech Tool Pro
Drive Genius
Diskwarrior
Data Rescue II
to no avail.
