Failure to generate WSDL from web service when use xmlbean

Hi, I have a web service that uses xmlbean generated by schema. The schema from 3rd party is in a separate project since it's used by another web app and ejb project. In wlw103 I have included the schema project in this web service project's Java Build Path. The web service compiles, but when I tried to generate WSDL a Error window shows and says "The WSDL cannot be generated from the web service due to unexpected runtime errors".
The following is the detail. What do I need to do to make the xmlbean available for my web service? Thanks

HI,
I hope this issue can resolved by adding this patch CR349256
Try to contact weblogic support to get more details about this patch.

  • Problem requesting WSDL from web service.

    Hello,
    I am rather new to creating web services, but I have been writing software for some time now. Please be gentle.
    I am writing a webservice "document first". I have a schema and an WSDL that were already written. I generated the code for a server from the WSDL and then wrote an implementing class from the interface it generated. All of my actual code compiles successfully and unit tests okay.
    I then looked at one of the examples included with JAX-WS to find out how to create the war to deploy to an application server (I am using Tomcat 5.5). After modifying the web.xml, build.xml, and sun-jaxws.xml files to work with my project structure I built and deployed the webservice.
    My problem is tomcat shows it is running, but when ever I try to point my client where I think the WSDL should be the "resource insn't available" I tried curl and just browsing there as well. What is the URI to retrieve the WSDL?
    Thanks for all your help in advance.

    Hi,
    I'm also new to web services. I created a hello world web service in MyEclipse using the wizard. How I pointed to the WSDL was by typing the following:
    http://localhost:8080/WebServiceProject/services/HelloWorldService?WSDL

  • What shall I do after generate .dll from web services

    Hi,
    After I have successfully generate the .net classes from the web services, I proceed to generate the .dll from the .net. After which, what shall I do?? How shall I uses those classes?? Can someone advises me (newbie)??
    Thanks alot!!

    A .dll is in the .NET world like a .jar in Java Land, a packaging unit (or assembly). It does have very little to do with Web Services.
    If you are starting with .NET and C# (or any other langague from the # collection), you should start by following some HowTo from Microsoft online documentation. The MSDN site seams a good place to start.
    To call a Web Service hosted on the .NET framework from Java, you will need to locate the Web Service interface definition; the WSDL resource. Once you have this information, the easiest way to get started would be to build a Web Service proxy from JDeveloper, if you are planning on using the Oracle tech stack.
    Hope it helps,
    -Eric

  • How to return List or Array from Web Service without using ADF?

    All,
    I would like to know how to do this before I use ADF. Sounds like a simple thing to do - common even - but I haven't found a solution in existing postings. My attempts have failed though I'm not sure exactly why.
    I have created a declarative WS that takes a single parameter and tries to return a List<Employees> resultset. My Sample Java Client works just fine. When I change the result type from List to String[], for example, it also works fine.
    What am I doing wrong??
    Thanks

    Gi,
    not sure what you are doing there, but you can build the J2EE WebService from your working POJO, and create a Web Service proxy class from the WSDL description (of the deployed or local WSDL file). Then, using the proxy class, you can access the output of the WebService.

  • Dates coming from web service

    Hi,
    I'm currently trying to consume in VC a CAF Application Service exposed as a Web Service. I'm able to retrieve what I want but I have a problem with dates format.
    The web service returns dates in the following format: YYYY-MM-DDTHH:NN:SS
    When I test my data service in VC it works fine. When I run my iview, VC swap the month and the day and compute the new date...
    It's not just a problem of formatting with DVAL and DSTR because the date is already computed.
    Example:
    Date returned from web service: 2007-09-21T00:00:01
    Date returned from test data service in VC: 21.09.2007
    Date returned at runtime: 09.09.2008
    VC understand 21.09.2007 not like DD.MM.YYYY but like MM.DD.YYYY so 21.09.2007 becomes 09.09.2008
    I also tried to check on the server Regional and Language option but it doesn't come from there.
    Have you ever faced this problem?
    Thx

    Hi,
    It is a Web Service generated by NWDS (to expose my CAF Application Service)and deployed on the server.
    The url si like http://<hostname>:<port>/mywebservice/Config1?wsdl
    The Web Service runs correctly.
    When I call a method of my web service to retrieve a list of objects (CAF Entity Services) and their attributes, it returns attributes of type String and Dates of type 'java.util.GregorianCalendar'.
    It seems that VC doesn't correctly understand this type of Date at runtime

  • Presence data from web service

    Hello,
    i like to get presence data from the presenceconsumer web service. But everytime a call getUserPresence i get a PolicyException (POL0002): 'Privacy verification failed for address %1, request is refused'.
    I use a web service proxy generated from the wsdl of the presenceconsumer web service. Authentication is made against the appregationproxy by setting username and password. Both users (the one i use for authentication and the one whose presence data i want to get) are registered in the timesten database.
    The user whose presence data should be accessed is logged in the OracleCommunicator and has the other user on the allowed list for presence data.
    All other operations of the presence web services work without any problem, so why not getUserPresence?
    Thanks for help

    Hi,
    I have found the problem and fixed it :)
    If you see my code, I was checking for the pending subscriptions after publish() method. When I tried this check before publish() method, I got the expected results (All the pending subscriptions).
    Also, I got an error (ServiceException) while dynamically retrieving the subscribed attributes for some reason. I have found an alternative solution, by manually allowing only the PresenceAttributeType.Activity (instead of all getSubscribedAttributes()).
    Note: This code was working fine in my local machine because, I have already setup-ed the users (Buddy list) through Oracle communicator in my machine. I was not able to install OC in the VM for some reason though OS is same in both my machine and the VM (OS: Windows 2000 SP4).
    thanks & regards,
    S.Vasanth Kumar.
    My latest code for your reference.

  • Facing problem while going to  catch return result from web-services.

    Hi everybody,
    I am new to BPEL. I am facing problem while going to catch the attributes of resultsets returning from web-services(QAS). As far as my knowledge, two types of results it should return - XML entities and another is attributes which is coming as the part of XML entitites. I am able to catch the XML entities, but can't catch the attributes under it. Even, I am not able to see whether web-services returning something within that field.
    When, I tried to catch the attribute and store to a temporary varilable using the following code:
    *<assign name="AssignQASDoGetAddress1">*
    *<copy>*
    *<from variable="InvokeQAS_DoSearch_OutputVariable"*
    part="body"
    query="/ns6:QASearchResult/ns6:QAPicklist/ns6:PicklistEntry/@PostcodeRecoded"/>
    *<to variable="temp"/>*
    *</copy>*
    *</assign>*

    Getting this error it seems to me that web-service is returning nothing, but, it returns something as it has been catched using a method called isPostcodeRecoded() Java Code in Oracle ADF. This method has been used as it should return boolean whereas for catching the xml entities using java code we used the method like getPostcode(), getMoniker().
    For your information, we are using Jdeveloper as the development tool for building the BPEL process.
    Am I doing any syntax error. Please consider it as urgent and provide me asolution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Chandrachur.

    Thanks Dave and Marc, for your suggestions. Actually what I found is QAS web-service is returning nothing as attributes when the attributes are set to the default value. For example, following is the part of the wsdl of the result which QAS webservice returns.
    <xs:element name="QASearchResult">
    - <xs:complexType>
    - <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="QAPicklist" type="qas:QAPicklistType" minOccurs="0" />
    <xs:element name="QAAddress" type="qas:QAAddressType" minOccurs="0" />
    </xs:sequence>
    <xs:attribute name="VerifyLevel" type="qas:VerifyLevelType" default="None" />
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    <xs:complexType name="QAPicklistType">
    - <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="FullPicklistMoniker" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="PicklistEntry" type="qas:PicklistEntryType" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" />
    <xs:element name="Prompt" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="Total" type="xs:nonNegativeInteger" />
    </xs:sequence>
    <xs:attribute name="AutoFormatSafe" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />

    <xs:complexType name="PicklistEntryType">

    <xs:element name="Postcode" type="xs:string" />

    <xs:attribute name="UnresolvableRange" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="PhantomPrimaryPoint" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    </xs:complexType>
    here the attributes like FullAddress, PostcodeRecodedare , etc. are not being return by the web-service when it is getting the default value false. But, if it gets true then , it is being displayed at the BPEL console.
    Do you have any idea how can I catch the attributes and its value even when it gets the default value which is already set. Previously, it was returning(it was not being displayed at the console).
    Thanks once again for your valuable suggestions...!!!

  • Calculations in Xcelsius using data generated by a Web Service Connection

    Hi,
    I have set up a web service connection to pull in 4 columns of data: 1. CATEGORY  2. SUBCATEGORY 3. PRODUCT TYPE   4.#OFCALLS.  There will be anywhere from 1 to 500 rows of data depending on day of week and time of day.  The web service sorts the list by #OFCALLS descending. The OUTPUT VALUES of the web service connection are mapped to cells A19:D518.
    Formulas in the spreadsheet take the Top 10 from the list and populate it to cells  A4:D13.  A formula in cell D15 sums the #OFCALLS for the entire web service connection output (A19:D518).
    The data in A4:D15 is mapped to a spreadsheet table on my canvas.   When the report generates, the data from the TOP 10 of the web service connection populates properly, but the cell that should reflect the TOTAL#OFCALLS (D15) shows zero.
    Is it not possible to do additional calculations in the spreadsheet based on data generated by the web service connection?  A major difference between using an XML Map and a Web Service Connection is the XML Map actually populates the spreadsheet with the new data when it is refreshed.  The Web Service connection data never actually appears in the spreadsheet itself, even though it updates to the appropriate vessel on the canvas.   This makes me think that no additional calculations can be done in the spreadsheet based on the web service connection data.
    Can anyone tell me if that is correct?  If so, then the web service connection would also have to pull in the TOTAL#OFCALLS along with the other data.   This would also seem to greatly limit what you could do with data generated by a web service connection, so I am hoping I am wrong and just don't understand how to do this.
    Can anyone clarify this for me?  If I failed to give any pertinent info let me know what it is, and I will update my post.
    Thanks!

    I have seen similar behavior as well.  I have live data coming into Xcelsius from a data connection.
    A supported Excel formula
    =IF(ISBLANK(J2),I2,VALUE(TODAY()-J2))
    is then applied to one of the columns to create an additional derived column.
    Taking a snapshot of the data shows that the derived column is being populated, however the controls I've tried hooking up to the derived column (charts and labels) are always empty.
    Information on whether this is supported would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    David

  • Create Web Service System using WSDL URL

    Hi,
    Please help me create a Web Service System.
    Following is the test result when I perform Connection Test after creating a system
    Test Connection with Connector
      Test Details:
    The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
      Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
    Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
    Thanks,
    Atul

    Let me reiterate my problem.
    I created the System as following
    Creating System's Object:
    1) Go to System Administration
    2) Go to System Configuration
    3) Go to Portal Content on Object Based Navigation Area (Right Side Panel)
    Note:  For avoiding confusion it is recommended to create a folder in which we are creating System Object.
    4) Right Click on Portal Content, select New -> System (from Template)
    5) This action will display a new view on right side, now choose Web Service System using WSDL URL radio button from the existing templates. Click Next
    6) Give the System Name  i.e. System_WS and System Id  (which are mandatory fields) incase you want to give any brief notes about the system then give it in Description field.  Click Finish.
    8) Choose Open the object for editing Click OK.
    9) Now to create a Web Service System, we need WSDL URL.
    10) There are lots of freely available WSDL files on internet, search for any such WSDL file.
    11)  In the Properties area of system give the appropriate WSDL URL
    12) Choose System alias, from display menu and give alias as System_WS.
         This alias name will be the name of Web Service System.
    I used the following url
    http://soap.amazon.com/schemas2/AmazonWebServices.wsdl
    After the system is created,
    1) Right click on the created system> open > object
    2) Drop down for Display options is changed to Connection Tests from what it shows as object
    3) Check the check box for the test name Connection Test for Connectors
    4) Result shows that the connection failed. The error message was posted in my first question.
    Thanks,
    Atul

  • Web Service Project using WSDL file

    Hi All,
    I want to create web service project using WSDL file(I already have a wsdl file), which needs axis2 run time to generate correct project structure, I did this in eclipse but now I want to do it through JDeveloper(11.1.2.0.0), so please suggest me any ways on how can I configure axis2 runtime in Jdeveloper, and is it possible do it in Jdevloper?
    Thank You,
    Sunny

    Have you installed the 64-bit Access driver on your machine? See
    Data Source Names and 64-Bit Operating Systems for the differences in odbcad32. Call %SystemRoot%\system32\odbcad32.exe to check the drivers.
    How do you host your service? Stand-alone or IIS or embedded to another application? Keep in mind that IIS7 runs it in its application pool which is defaullt 64bit. Thus the bad image exception, when compiling your service as 32bit.
    When you need the Access database for your service to store informtation, then I would switch to SQL Server (Express) or XML files depending on your actual needs.
    Also check whether your account under which your service is run has the necessary NTFS file permissions on the access file and the folder. This is getting even more complex when it's a remote folder.

  • Latest WSDL breaks Web Services Sample Lead weblead

    I am trying to use the Web Services Sample Lead code I downloaded from Web Services Library Sample Code to be able to create a simple web form that will create a lead via webservices.
    Following the README, I downloaded the latest wsdls and updated the references for the Lead_Service and Campaign_Service.
    The problem I run into is when I update InsertPostedLead.aspx.cs
    I am able to modify the username, password and defaultLeadOwner variables to correspond to the user that you will connect to Siebel CRM OnDemand with out any problems. When I then Build the project I receive several errors such as:
    The type or namespace name 'LeadWS_LeadInsert_Input' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
    I get the same error reference Lead1, CampaignWS and Campaign1.
    When I compare the original WSDL with the latest that gets inported I can see that the latest does not reference LeadWS, Lead1, CampaignWS, Campaign1, etc.
    This is where I get stuck. Simply modifying the references to say Lead instead of Lead1 etc ends up creating other errors so I am assuming this is not the solution.
    Does anyone have this working with the latest WSDL? What do I need to modify to make it work with the latest WSDL?
    I am somewhat new to Oracle CRM On Demand and to webservices so I appreciate any help you can provide pointing me in the right direction!

    This is crazy! Someone must have come across this problem
    before.
    I've simplified my question and used a much simplier method
    from the web service, here goes!
    ::: Here's my code :::
    <cfscript>
    webservice = CreateObject("webservice","dummy?wsdl");
    webservice.doBuildQuoteForItinerary("123456,"en_US","","1113");
    </cfscript>
    ::: Here's the error :::
    Could not perform web service invocation
    "doBuildQuoteForItinerary".
    Here is the fault returned when invoking the web service
    operation:<br> <pre>AxisFault faultCode: {
    http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.userException
    faultSubcode: faultString:
    com.raileurope.web.ngserver.InternalErrorException:
    java.lang.NullPointerException faultActor: faultNode: faultDetail:
    http://xml.apache.org/axis/}hostname:dummy
    </pre>
    There must be something wrong with how I'm passing in the
    parameters. Is it the null string??!?!?
    Any help would be great!

    Thanks
    Jeyakumar Raman.

    I guess, this is because the RI client is not finding the
    codec to ser/deser your Value Object. You need to register
    the codec in the type mapping registry before you invoke
    the web service method.
    Here is a sample:
    Service service = factory.createService( serviceName );
    TypeMappingRegistry registry = service.getTypeMappingRegistry();
    TypeMapping mapping = registry.getTypeMapping(
    SOAPConstants.URI_NS_SOAP_ENCODING );
    mapping.register( SOAPStruct.class,
    new QName( "http://soapinterop.org/xsd", "SOAPStruct" ),
    new SOAPStructCodec(),
    new SOAPStructCodec() );
    BTW, you can do the same exact thing on the client by using
    WLS impl of JAX-RPC. Is there a reason for using RI on the
    client side?

    Hi Manoj,
    Thanks for your information, Yes, my client is Sun's JAX-RPC based, but the Server
    Implementation is done using Weblogic 7.0. When I invoke the Client without WSDL.
    It works fine without any problem. But when I invoke the webservice using WSDL,
    I am getting this problem.
    Here is my Client Code :

  • Returning java bean from web service

    hello i just want to know if it is still platform independent if i make an array of java bean object as a return value from a webservice?
    if the return value of a webservice is a java bean, is it required for the client to have a copy of the java bean class? what will happen if the client of the java webservice is in PHP or other language besides java? will it still be compatible?
    thanks in advance guys..

    Yes, you should be able to return a Java bean from a Web service. What will happen is your web service framework, such as JAX-WS (http://jax-ws.dev.java.net) will generate WSDL and Schema that describes the operation and its use of Java bean. Then the client web service framework used will take the WSDL and Schema description and generate something that can marshal/unmarshal the contents of the bean.

  • [OSB Kernel:398133]The service is based on WSDL with Web Services Security

    Team,
    I need to use the wsdl given by external client. When I create a osb business service, I am receiving the below error.
    OSB Kernel:398133]The service is based on WSDL with Web Services Security Policies that are not natively supported by Oracle Service Bus. Please select OWSM Policies - From OWSM Policy Store option and attach equivalent OWSM security policy. For the Business Service, either you can add the necessary client policies manually by clicking Add button or you can let Oracle Service Bus automatically pick and add compatible client policies by clicking Add Compatible button.     ...
    WSDL:
    http://personator.melissadata.net/v3/SOAP/ContactVerify
    We don't have OWSM set up. Is there any workaround that I can use to connect to this service for OSB?

    As a workaround, you can try to remove the Policy definition and reference from the copy you will import in OSB.
    I would recommend to add OWSM to your domain. It's a straight forward process.
    Regards,
    Fabio.
